According to the pioneering new ocean conservation organization Pacific Garbage Screening, “Every minute, a whole garbage truck full of plastic garbage gets into the oceans somewhere in the world.” PGS has designed a revolutionary floating platform that once implemented, may make it possible to filter plastic particles out of the water without threatening marine life. This filtered plastic could then be used to create recycled plastic materials.
Oris, who has long championed grassroots ocean conservation initiatives, has partnered with PGS for the Oris Aquis Clean Ocean Limited Edition. Only 2,000 of these unique 39.5mm timepieces were produced — the limited number is a reflection of the scarcity of clean water around the world today. Each watch includes a recycled PET plastic medallion set into the case back commemorating the partnership. As a final touch, the watches are packaged in boxes made of environmentally-friendly algae, which shows that sustainability can be a goal in watchmaking.

Kammok Roo Double Camping Hammock Bundle
Save $48: There’s no right or wrong way to camp — the old sleeping-bag-in-a-tent method is perhaps the most traditional, but there’s nothing wrong with bedding down directly on the ground, beneath the stars and next to a lowering fire, either. Somewhere between these two choices is hammock camping, and right now one of the best camping hammocks available, Kammok’s Roo Double, is on sale at Huckberry for 37 percent off, a savings of nearly $50.
The main benefit of hammock camping is that you save weight. Instead of sacrificing half of the space in your pack to a tent and hauling it miles up a trail, you can instead carry a bed the size of a grapefruit. The Roo Double weighs only 22 ounces but can hold up to 500 pounds with Kammok’s tree-friendly Python Straps, which usually are sold separately but included in this discounted bundle. Another possibly more significant argument for hammock camping is that it’s fun, particularly during the summer months when being rocked to sleep by a warm breeze is preferable to roasting in a tent. — Tanner Bowden
Seiko Prospex PADI Dive Watch
Save Almost 50%: Powered by the cal. V157 quartz movement, the PADI special edition features a 47mm case, Hardlex mineral crystal, date display, Lumibright-coated hands and markers and a unidirectional rotating dive bezel. It’s water-resistant to 200m and features a screw-down crown and case back. Once fully charged, the power reserve on the V157 movement lasts roughly 10 months.
If mechanical watches aren’t your thing, then this PADI special edition could be your water watch this summer.— Oren Hartov
Moccamaster Coffee Maker
Save $79: Among its features and accolades, two things are most crucial: copper tube heating and the ability to disassemble. Copper coils, given the material’s natural heat conductivity, heat the water much more quickly than machines using steel or other methods (the only machine we’ve tested that brews faster is Breville’s Precision Brewer). The ability to take the whole thing apart is also unique, and it allows for troubleshooting and fixing at home rather than losing your source of coffee to the mail for a few weeks (it’s also great for cleaning the machine).
Today, Moccamaster’s KBS model is $79 off on Drop. It’s basically a blacked-out version that uses a glass carafe and hot plate rather than the classic stainless steel thermo-carafe. — Will Price
Running Essentials Memorial Day Sale
Save 70%:Beyond the typical Memorial Day weekend sales, JackRabbit’s 48-hour flash sale includes up to 70 percent off apparel — from shorts to tees to tanks to jackets. Now’s the time to pick up everything you need for summer runs. You’ll have to pick through sizes and colors, but there’s still a plethora of items on sale. — Meg Lappe
