Fresh Deals

Orient Mako XL Dive Watch
Save $190: Japanese brands continuously offer great value for money with respect to watches. Take the Orient Mako XL Automatic dive watch as a case in point: you get an in-house, 21-jewel automatic movement with 40 hours of power reserve, a stainless steel 44.5mm case, a mineral crystal, steel bracelet, day-date display, unidirectional rotating bezel, 200m of water resistance, and the choice of 4 dial colors: black with black bezel, black with green bezel, vaguely-yellowish-greenish-mintish with black bezel and black with orange bezel. And all this for $130 right now on Massdrop.— Oren Hartov

Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine
Save $120: Making a decent espresso at home requires a lot. You need a scale to weigh out a proper shot, you need a burr grinder to ensure you’re using fresh grounds and you need an espresso maker to pull everything together. The alternative is getting an espresso maker with all that built-in, and then some. That’s what Breville’s Barista Express is.

Among Breville’s line of espresso makers, the Barista Express stands out — it’s got all the additive performance features its higher-priced sibling have, but it’s the only all-in-one maker that’s not $1,000 or more. It’s got a built-in grinder and dose control, plus it’s operable in automatic and manual modes. The machine also features a really, really impressive milk wand and comes with all the ancillary parts needed to make it all go (tamper, milk jug, razor trim and so on).

Today on Ebay, Breville’s Barista Express is available for $120 off its retail price. —Will Price

New Balance 990v4 Sneakers
Save 20%:As the weather in North America transitions from winter snowstorms to balmy spring days, consider investing in a new pair of sneaker for the warmer months. If you’re looking for a domestic option that won’t break the bank, head over to Need Supply Co. today. The retailer is currently offering 20 percent off the American-made New Balance 990v4.

Available in two tonal colorways, the style features a pigskin nubuck upper, an Encap midsole and a rubber outsole. Either is a solid option for any casual wardrobe, so if you’ve been prepping for sunny days, don’t sleep on these. — John Zientek

Ski Goggles Sale
Save up to 65%: If you only ski a few times a year, now’s the best time to buy a pair of goggles. Right now, there are steep discounts on a variety of styles at Backcountry that are ideal for any type of snow day. Like a quality pair of sunglasses, ski goggles present an opportunity to make a style statement up on the mountain. They allow skiers and snowboarders to see the minute details of the slope — even during a blizzard — and protect the eyes from dangerous UV rays as they bounce off the reflective white snow surface.

Unfortunately, decent goggles are often overlooked as unnecessary or simply too expensive (and no, the $40 pair at the ski shop won’t cut it). Renting them is out of the question, but if you hit the slopes a handful of times each year, the discounts on these five high-quality pairs from Backcountry make each pair worth it.

Yamazaki Organization Gear
Save 15%: Japan’s lesser-known Yamazaki is far less expensive and far more, well, useful than the world-famous whisky. In operation for more than 100 years, Yamazaki beat Marie Kondo to the tidying up punch by a century. The company’s housewares are all unobtrusive, sturdy, simple and bent toward organizing your place. They’re also incredibly affordable.

Its nifty rolling storage cart ($85) is slim and made of steel and real wood — not particle board and plastic screws. Its all-steel wall hanger ($69) is heavy enough to stay put when you hang a dozen coats over it. They even made a trashcan ($43) that does its job and doesn’t look goofy.

These pieces and more of Yamazaki’s thrifty organization gear is marked down 15 percent off on Huckberry today. —Will Price

Sonos Connect:Amp
Save $100+: Last fall, Sonos introduced its new Amp, which is an all-around better version of the Connect:Amp. The new Amp is twice as powerful and has an HDMI ARC port, so you can also hook it directly to your TV and play your TV’s audio throughout your house. The new Sonos Amp just went on sale in early 2019. Sonos still sells the Connect:Amp for $499, and for anybody who doesn’t need to power really expensive speakers or hook up their speakers to their TV (the Amp essentially works as an AV receiver), it’s probably still the better option; it’s most definitely cheaper. Amazon was selling the Connect:Amp for the lowest its ever been – $384 – but it appears that that deal is dead. You can still find discounted Connect:Amp models on eBay and B&H for around $370, although they are refurbished. |

Nike 20% Off Sale
Save 20%: Three of Nike’s best-selling running shoes of 2018 are currently on sale for an even deeper discount. Enter code SAVE20 at checkout to get an additional 20 percent off all sale styles, meaning there are a ton of gym and running shoes available, all under $100. We picked out a few of our favorites below — all of which we heavily tested last year, as well as awarded in our Best New Running Shoes of 2018 and GP100. If you’re training for any spring or summer races, now is a good time to stock up on shoes that you can rotate through (one for long, easy and speed runs) so your shoes stay fresher for longer — your legs and feet will thank you. — Meg Lappe

LG UK6300
Save $200+: The LG UK6300 is an entry-level 4K TV that was released in 2018, and it’s a solid option for anybody looking to make the upgrade from their old HDTV. It supports HDR10 and can be set up to work with Google Assistant or Alexa. Also, it’s pretty affordable right now. LG just dropped the price of the UK6300 by several hundred dollars; on its website, LG is selling 55-inch models for $499, which is $200 off the original MSRP. You can pick up the same TV for a little bit less on either eBay or Amazon, too. |
