Maybe you had some skin in the game last night; maybe you didn’t. Maybe you just grabbed some beers and pulled up a seat for the real MVPs: Super Bowl commercials. There were lots to take in, from the best detergent commercials I’ve ever seen to Tom Cruise doing…Tom Cruise things.

But my favorite was actually the unpretentious Jeep Wrangler ad that showcased the new Wrangler‘s river-fording and rock-crawling ability in one uncut shot. Even the voice over was on point, hightlighting the fact that other car ads are often…too much. Curious if the Wrangler shown was a stock machine or modified, I got in touch with our friends at Jeep. Turns out, according to Jeep, there were some light mods, but I’ll be damned if that wasn’t basically a showroom-to-river Wrangler.

The Jeep in the commercial, titled “Anti-Manifesto,” is “a stock Rubicon equipped with a two-inch lift kit and 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrain tires.” That’s it. That’s impressive.

Read our review of the new Wrangler below (spoiler: it’s great), but first, check out everything you need to kit out your own Jeep to be river-worthy.
