Target’s new home collection, Made by Design, is many things — minimal, useful and good-looking chief among them — but, such is the beauty of Target. What’s most important is what it is not: expensive. Highlights of the Made By Design collection include super clean dinner plates ($2), the perfect stainless steel cookware for the frugal home cook and a plethora of bathroom and closet storage.

Collections like these are emblematic of the Target house product lines — taste and trend-conscious, but without being tied to quick fads or higher price points. By price alone, the Made By Design collection is on par with Amazon’s AmazonBasics line, but nearly every similar product looks significantly less like cheap plastic (though we would avoid the bedsheets and go for Target’s other house brand, Threshold, instead).

The new Made By Design collection of home goods is really multiple collections in one — bedding, cookware, storage solutions, tableware and small furniture all represented — with the highest price tag being that of a dining room table for all of $260. All categories are available in-store and online Saturday, June 23.
