Martenero is a Brooklyn-based indie watch brand that has been offering affordably-priced mechanical watches with a bold, colorful aesthetic for years. Mechanically, these watches have been relatively simple, offering up just the time and date, but now the brand is adding a power reserve complication and a 24-hour sub-dial into the mix with its latest release, the Edgemere Reserve.

Keeping in line with its other watches, the Edgemere Reserve features a bold, vivid and almost nautical-inspired design language, available in five different color schemes. What’s more, many of the watch’s dial elements, like the striped texturing at the center of the dial, and the rounded date window, make the watch feel unique. The Edgemere Reserve comes packing a Miyota 9132 automatic movement, ticking at 28,800 beats per hour, in a 40mm stainless steel case. Overall, it seems like a sound package.

For the Edgemere Reserve’s launch, Martenero turned to Kickstarter, where the brand has made the model available with campaign-backing discounts. You can get it as low as $459 right now, a $236 drop from the watch’s retail price.
