Apple announced the 2018 MacBook Air less than two months ago and, besides the fact that Apple should’ve released this same laptop two years ago, the laptop has received universal praise. Basically, if you’re looking to buy a new laptop and you want to live in Apple’s ecosystem, this new MacBook Air is the one to buy. It’s thin and lightweight. It has a beautiful Retina display. It has terrific battery life. It comes with Touch ID, so you can unlock it by just pressing your finger on the fingerprint sensor. And the best news? It’s already on sale.

The 2018 MacBook Air is normally priced at $1,199 for the 128GB model and $1,399 for the 256GB model, but Amazon has cut those prices by $150 and $100, respectively. Those are two pretty good deals. In all honesty, it’s probably worth going with the 256GB model because, frankly, you’ll want the extra storage — this is hopefully the computer you’ll have for the next 4 or 5 years, after all. (It’s worth mentioning that Amazon is offering all models in gold, silver and space grey, but the deals vary slightly between each.)

Just for context, Apple sells two other laptops: the MacBook and the MacBook Pro. Compared to the new MacBook Air, it’s actually difficult justifying buying the MacBook. Yes, it’s slightly thinner and smaller, but it’s way less powerful and more expensive, and it doesn’t have a Retina display. The MacBook Pro is more expensive and more powerful, and it’s definitely the better option for creative professionals, such as graphic designers, photographers or app developers; it’s also the only Mac that comes with a Touch Bar option. That said, if you just want a lightweight laptop for daily tasks, such as browsing the internet or answering some emails, and maybe some light photo editing, the new MacBook Air is able to handle those. Easy breezy.

Lastly: If you buy now, Amazon is promising that the MacBook Air will arrive before Christmas.
