Sail In Opulent Style With The Upcoming Carat 187 Superyacht

For a select few who have too much money lying around, owning multiple and huge homes is a badge of recognition. You might also want to grab an exclusive hypercar or a few other supercars while you’re at it. Also, let’s not forget a couple of private jets or maybe even an airliner for good measure. Now that you have your high-end toys for both land and air, let’s not forget to complete the ensemble with your own personal watercraft. That’s right we’re talking about a luxurious ship that can leisurely sail the seas at your disposal. For that extra layer of opulence, you might want to own the Carat 187 superyacht as soon as possible.

You might have guessed by the name, that this stunning vessel will make you feel like a celebrity. Its conception comes from an amazing group of talents at Technicon Design, who envisioned a glamorous yacht with extravagant amenities. This remarkable group of designers includes Gareth Davies, Nicolas Jousse, Guillaume Juif, Paul Martinez, and Maximilien Nee. The team collectively proposes a dramatic concept that will eventually become reality to the tune of $130 million.

It will showcase an exclusive feature wherein two automated stairs swing out from the rear of the craft. This emulates a red-carpet welcome for guests as its two yacht tenders dock on each side. Moreover, the Carat 187 will also offer two massive pools with one on the sun deck and another on the prow. As the project moves forward from the concept stage, expect Technicon Design to offer more insight regarding its technical specifications.

Otam 85 GTS Custom Performance Yacht

We believe that all it takes is just one look and you’ll instantly be drawn to this unrivaled seaworthy beauty—the Otam 85 GTS. Its design was conceived by the celebrated French architect, Joseph Dirand, who drew inspiration from the striking magnificence of supercars. The influence was so apparent in his earlier sketches, so much so that it reportedly incorporated gullwing doors. However, the final draft was adjusted according to the wishes of an interested buyer.

Dirand made the necessary changes to slightly tone down the automobile motif but still maintain an exotic opulence that most yachts of its class should have anyway. Yet, this meant that the gullwing doors had to go—too bad, we personally felt it could have added to the 85 GTS’ allure. Nevertheless, you can see that the end product is still a breathtaking combination of style, luxury, and modern technology.

Yachts are made to be flaunted and enjoyed by its owner. Therefore, this particular model carries all of the bells and whistles that should impress anyone who climbs aboard the vessel. Ample lounging spaces are available from the bow to its stern as well as a swim platform. The helm likewise houses a bar and galley, which seems ideal given that the roof and windows keep the elements away.

Otam reveals that within the ship’s hull sits two full-beam master suites alongside a dinette/living room space. We also admire the lavish laminated wood panels that are perfectly distributed all around.

The Yacht is certainly no slouch when it comes to power—given the dual 2,600 hp MTU engines paired with Arneson surface drives. The 85 GTS can reach cruising speeds of 38 knots with a top speed listed at 45 knots.

DYNAMIQ GTT 165 Foiling Superyacht

The all-new Dynamiq GTT 165 is the world’s first foiling superyacht. This 164-foot sporty watercraft is equipped with two underwater foils that lift the hull up, allowing for decreased drag and higher speeds, making this the only yacht in its category capable of crossing the Atlantic at up to 25 knots.

Powered by a hybrid propulsion system coupled to a Lithium-Ion battery pack that can be recharged through an optional array of roof-mounted solar panels, the GTT 165 can stay at anchor in complete silence with no generators running, or provide a couple of hours of low-speed cruising in zero-emission mode.

The superyacht is available in a 5-cabin layout (with a second master suite on the lower deck) or a 6-cabin layout. A spacious glass-covered beach club contains a dedicated spa area that can be also fitted out as a gym. In addition to the ample lounging and socializing zone on the main deck aft, there is a 65-foot long sun deck with dining facilities, bar, cinema lounge with 75’ TV, and the mandatory Jacuzzi with sunbathing area.
