Who doesn’t love a pair of Vans? The Vans team have been digging through their inventory and reintroduced their vintage models that propelled Vans’ brand to what we know it today – experts at making casual and skateboarding sneakers.
When some brands bring their older gear out of retirement they can sometimes be a letdown. Sometimes they are so bad we even wonder if we would have worn them back then. With Vans, that thought never crosses our mind. Their vintage sneakers really are an ollie above the rest of the market.
The newest find in the back of their closet is the beautiful Epoch Sport – an original 90s kid. The pair will be available in a LX or LX Pro version and in many colors. If you were on the ramps 25 years ago, you probably remember or even had a pair. Although the newer release will be a bit more developed with a suede upper for a better fit and a Quasi logo manufactured from quality leather.
Just remember, getting your favorite sneakers from the past doesn’t mean you can still do all the tricks. Now you might have kids and a dodgy hip.
Just released today, the Vans X FDMTL Vault Sneakers are a refreshing iteration of the classic skate shoe. The kicks are covered in the finest denim, boasting signature patchwork designs and awesome detailing.
Made in collab with Japan’s independent denim label, FDMTL, the new silhouette is embellished with traditional sashiko embroidery techniques on the indigo-dyed uppers. Complete with a luxe leather lining, the special edition of Vans Vault is available in two models: the OG Authentic and the OG Classic Slip-On.
Rumor has it that Vans and NASA are collaborating on something special. They’re planning to release an entire capsule of goodies that include various shoe models, a backpack, and a duffel bag, all looking as glorious as you’d expect.
The white Vans x NASA Old Skool Sneakers you see here are part of the upcoming special release. Perfect for both aspiring astronauts and skateboarders, the kicks feature a tumbled leather upper with a removable USA flag at the heel, NASA branding on the external sides, exposed foam liner, a ridged midsole, and a space grey mesh tongue with black tabs that read “Shuttle” and “Mission” in NASA font.
The capsule is said to ‘land’ sometime in October of 2018.
