The 8 Best Engineer Boots for Men

When steam engines were the height of tech, men were employed to feed the new-fangled machines loads of coal to keep them running. To combat the obvious fiery hazards associated with the job, the engineer boot was invented. The workwear design joined the tall pull-on style of horse riding boots with the supportive arch and sole of a work boot and would move from feeding coal to shifting gears on motorcycles. The likes of Marlon Brando would help popularize the pull-on in biker circles and is how most people associate the boots today. Search ‘biker boot’ and it’s likely to pull up droves of engineer boots. Though there are other pull-on style boots like the Chelsea and side-zip boots, the buckled ankle strap gives the engineer boot its distinct looks.

Whether you’re in the market for some fire-protective footwear, a pair of boots to match your hog, or a pair of boots to match your 1930s repro denim, these are the best engineer boots to buy.

Barbour’s Latest Collaboration Is Its Coolest Yet

Workwear and heritage style may wax and wane in popularity, but it’s a constant source of inspiration for many contemporary brands. While modern brands are keen to incorporate heritage influences into their collections, some opt to go straight to the source. For its latest release, contemporary New York City brand Noah linked up with storied outerwear brand Barbour for a capsule that blends the past with the present.

The collection features Barbour’s iconic waxed cotton Bedale and Beaufort jackets, rendered in surprising colorways, including a colorblocked number as well as an energizing shade of yellow that recalls classic rubber rain coats and rubber ducks, a motif which Noah has used in the past. You’ll also find those same fabrics in various accessories including a bucket hat, baseball hat and two duffel bags.

It also includes a number of graphic tees printed with photos that reference both Barbour’s heritage and Noah’s oceanic themes. Finally, what’s a collab without a hoodie? This time, Noah’s logo merges with Barbour’s iconic tartan plaid on its popular cotton hoodies.

The collection officially releases Thursday, September 24.

This Travel Bag Is Essentially Mary Poppins’ Purse for Three-Day Trips

This is Kind of Obsessed, a column about all the stuff we’re really, really into right now. This time: Nomad Lane’s deceptively roomy weekend bag.

I have a love-hate relationship with traveling. Everything from the stress and rush to get out the door on time, to the inevitable fight with your significant other, to the lines, to the lost baggage, to the cramped seats and oversalted peanuts: hate. And packing. I really hate packing. On the other hand, I love long flights, because it’s during these trips that I do my best thinking, self-reflection, and writing. I even decided to leave my old job and start Artisan Revere while on an airplane.

To get Artisan Revere up and running, I had to build out a robust supply chain, manage numerous vendors, and learn knife design and making. I read voraciously. Non-stop. There was so much to learn, but I also knew, from my years as a researcher, that I needed to be on the ground, learning in person from world-class experts. Because of that, I found myself traveling more than I had in years. I was on a plane almost every week, taking meetings with factory owners, craftsmen, machinists, and engineers all over the country. To any aspiring entrepreneur — you can learn a lot from books, but you need to be on the ground, asking questions and soaking up the knowledge of experts, and actually doing the work yourself.

During every diligence trip in a new facility or meeting with a maker in their home shop, I felt a bit naked. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I just felt uncomfortable showing up with a back-pack, or a duffel bag, even my black messenger bag felt off. I’m a bit obsessive, and I love my bags, and I want one for every occasion. I’ve got over 30 bags. Duffels, ski bags, hiking hags, messenger bags, camera bags, totes, small, medium, and large suitcases.

Perfect travel bag: 1. Fit enough clothes and personal items for a three-day business trip, assuming one pair of extra pants, 2. walks the line between business casual and rugged, 3. convenient + thoughtful design. 4. Fits under an airplane seat.

The exact moment that I realized I needed a new bag was during a regional connection flight from Wisconsin when I got hit by the air traveler’s trifecta: window seat, hungry and bored, boxy photography bag, AKA “personal item” up top in the overhead bin. What do you do when the person in the aisle seat falls asleep immediately and you just want to get your damn snacks and a book to read? I nudged the guy in the aisle, got up, got my trail mix, my book, my notebook, and sat back down. I wrote down what I wanted from a bag:

Perfect travel bag: 1. Fit enough clothes and personal items for a three-day business trip, assuming one pair of extra pants, 2. walks the line between business casual and rugged, 3. convenient + thoughtful design. 4. Fits under an airplane seat.

It didn’t take long to find exactly what I was looking for — Nomad Lane’s Bento Bag. They’d just done a multi-million dollar IndieGoGo campaign, and I had a fondness for other creators who start from nothing and successfully crowdsource their products. Through a friend of a friend, I managed to get a hold of the two founders: Kish and Vanessa. As luck would have it, they happened to be in town right when I was hosting a dinner for NYC-based founders and creators. We got dinner and I picked up the Bento Bag shortly after.

Everything about this bag is just so well-thought-out, and this is coming from a guy with a compunction for finding flaws and a weird obsession with bags.

The materials are superb — tough 840D nylon, for tensile and tear strength (yes, I’m a materials nerd), matched by robust zippers and precise craftsmanship. They even run their bags through 500 drop cycles with 26lbs inside to ensure strength. Mine is olive green, and has a surprising amount of space inside, given how easily it fits under an airplane seat. Actually, surprising isn’t the right word, it’s astounding — I actually am just astounded by how much space and flex there is. I can fit my MacBook Air, my iPad, a thick book, a toiletry bag, a large water bottle, a glass Ball jar filled with trail mix and, of course, 3 days worth of clothes and a pair of shoes.

I’m the kind of guy who loves thoughtful options — Nomad Lane gave them to me. Starting from front to back, there’s a flexible pocket up-front for pens, chargers, and various nick-nacks, of which I have quite a few. Inside, you’ve got zippered pockets and netted pockets. Heavy-duty electronics users needn’t worry about running out of battery either, because there’s a discreet charging port that can link up to a portable power bank (not supplied). Next, you’ve got twin top pockets for easy access to more electronics, toiletries, or snacks. Or, in the age of COVID — phone, keys, wallet, masks, sanitizer. These are my quick-access pockets where I store things I need to grab quickly. Behind that, you’ve got the “breaks down into a suitcase zipper” — room to separate clean and dirty clothing and extra shoes. This is the main compartment, and it’s big. I put my MacBook Air, my iPad, paperwork, and books here. There’s plenty of padding and separation if your electronics don’t have a case. And finally, there’s the large back-side pocket. Fill this with more clothes or paperwork. This compartment also has a sneakily hidden band on the side for a water bottle or an umbrella.

Everything about this bag is just so well-thought-out, and this is coming from a guy with a compunction for finding flaws and a weird obsession with bags. The Nomad Lane Bento Bag is the only bag I bring on short trips because I absolutely love how it looks and because the quality and convenience are outstanding. I’m kind of obsessed with mine.

The 12 Best Jeans for Men

Other than court appearances and funerals, a great pair of jeans can be your go-to trousers for almost any occasion, from work to a date to a night out. They can also be found at just about any price and in a mind-boggling array of styles and washes, so searching for a new pair can feel like a full-time job.

This is why the next time you buy a pair of jeans, you should invest in something versatile, like one of the 10 options we’ve identified below. While die-hard denimheads are embracing a fuller, workwear-influenced shape that’s a throwback to the 1950s, most guys can rely on a slimmer, more classic silhouette. They shouldn’t fit like yoga tights, but most guys will want to aim for a cut that’s just a little closer to the body, streamlined through the leg. And after sifting through an almost literal mountain of the best options on the market, we’ve identified 10 pairs of jeans (at different prices), so we could recommend a few that would work for everybody and everybody. Below, a look at the pairs we recommend and catch what we think are the three biggest considerations to make before you buy at the bottom of the post.

    Levis

    Just Get This

No other garment has aged nearly as well as the historic Levi’s 501. The quintessential blue jean comes in all manner of shades, washes and distressing, but you could do no wrong going the old-school way with the straight-up rigid shrink-to-fit version. The denim is a rich dark midnight blue and is stiff as a board to start. That might put people off, but it’s the way jeans were made since jean immemorial. And it gets better with every wear and every wash, which is really what a blue jean is all about. $60 for the classic of classics is a deal in itself, but keep your cool for even a little bit and you can find on sale no problem.

    Smart Spend

It’s hard to get better basics than Uniqlo. The Japanese mega brand’s the go-to for clothes that spin all three plates of style, price and quality. Its Stretch Selvedge Jeans are the cheapest selvedge denim jeans you can get and they’ve also got a smidge of stretch for comfort straight off the shelve. They come in a variety of colorways, too, so you’re not just limited to the standard blue jean.

    The Step-Up

While A.P.C. makes what is perhaps the quintessential minimalist jean, Japanese repro brand orSlow’s jeans might best be described as plain. And that’s no knock. There’s no overt branding, it’s based on classic jeans from the mid-1900s and is cut with custom-milled denim that would have anyone fooled into thinking you scored a pair of near-deadstock jeans that were hidden away in your grandparents’ attic.

    Buy Now: $209

    Dickies 5-Pocket Jeans

Dickies is a workwear brand in the truest sense, made to endure the rigors of hard labor. Their jeans come with a bit of heft at 14-ounce all-cotton denim and no frills. If you’re looking for something cheaper than the tried-and-true Levi’s 501, you couldn’t do much better than these.

    Buy Now: $18

    Everlane Jeans

Everlane’s jeans come from a highly-respected Japanese denim mill but at a price point of less than half of what you’d typically expect. Weighing a middle-of-the-road 11 ounces, the denim is made with a touch of two-way stretch, just enough for comfort and not so much to qualify as yoga pants. They come in a range of washes to satisfy a wide range of blue jean lovers. And at just $68, you could get into a few different washes.

    Buy Now: $68

    Unbranded UB301 Jeans

Unbranded maintains a quiet persona while offering a handful of rare details for a solid price. The UB301 is its version of a straight fit and fit like a classic pair of blue jeans, only with a little more going on. Heavy Japanese selvedge denim with hidden rivets and thick vegetable-tanned leather are prime ingredients for reverse sticker shock.

    Buy Now: $88

    A.P.C. New Standard Jeans

Often the gateway for those getting into raw denim, A.P.C. is known for its purely minimal aesthetic and its jeans are noted for birthing a new generation of denimheads. The New Standard makes a bold claim and though it hasn’t come close to surpassing the 501, its stripped-down details gives way for Japanese raw selvedge denim to take the spotlight and make it a go-to. The denim’s smooth hand and fast-fading capabilities make it easy to see why everyone from your local fashion enthusiast to celebs wearing them.

Naked & Famous Weird Guy Slim Fit Jeans

At a notch (or two) above its less-expensive brother brand, Unbranded, Naked & Famous brings more to the table and does so with more pizzaz. The brand offers a wide range of zany fabrics from glow-in-the-dark denim, rainbow denim and even scratch-and-sniff denim. But its bread and butter has to be the run-of-the-mill selvedge denim cut into the brand’s most popular fit, the Weird Guy. $135 still gets you all the trimming like a veg-tanned leather patch, Japanese selvedge denim and Canadian craftsmanship and if you don’t mind a seductive cartoon lady telling people what jeans you’re wearing, these offer a lot for the price.

    Buy Now: $141

    Chimala Jeans

    Courtesy Mr Porter

Noriko Machida’s highly-sought brand Chimala has garnered devoted fans since its founding in 2005. The brand is known for its midcentury workwear and militaria-inspired garments produced with lofty levels of quality and unparalleled distressing, not to mention incredible fits. Machida’s distressed jeans might put off the denim purists, but they’re no question some of the most meticulously and tastefully distressed jeans that could turn even the most diehard denim lover.

    Buy Now: $530

The Real McCoy’s Lot 001XX Jeans

For the most accurate of reproductions, it’s hard to beat The Real McCoy’s. The Japanese brand’s incessant pursuit of perfect reproductions wins legions of vintage fans who flock to the brand for period-correct details in every garment from rare military-issued submariner coats to loopwheeled sweatshirts. The Real McCoy’s lives up to its name with every piece it produces and that goes for its jeans, too. This pair, the Lot 001XX is based off the Levi’s 501 of the 1950s with a fuller leg and a higher rise. While other Japanese brands focus on getting unique textures and never-before-seen fading characteristics out of small artisanal denim mills, TRM’s version focuses on getting the denim to look exactly like it did decades ago. To some it’s a plain Jane jean, to others, it’s the closest thing to the real deal you’ll ever get.

    Buy Now: $360

    Kapital Century Denim Jeans

    Courtesy Independence

Japanese brand Kapital is known for a lot of things. The brand’s unique mish-mash of western details through the Japanese lens produces some of the most eye-catching garments on the market, much of which includes its denim. It’s certainly not for everyone, and the brand does produce a few straightforward, plain pieces, that’s not why fans are attracted. It’s weird and not for everyone. While there’s no shortage of jeans with straps and misshapen pockets in odd places, what perhaps gets the most attention is its Century Denim. The thick yarns peppered throughout mimic sashiko stitching, but somehow Kapital’s version is woven on the same loom together with the denim. This one takes the legendary denim even further by dyeing it with fermented persimmons.

The artisan behind the sewing machine (the Glenn) has been in the business of making jeans for decades and his custom jeans are an amalgamation of all the legacy denim brands he’s worked for in the past. The one-on-one fitting process is a well-executed experience akin to getting a bespoke suit. 3 Considerations Before Buying

    Wash

Denim traditionally starts out as a deep, dark, inky-blue fabric, dyed with indigo. The magic happens once the fabric is stitched into jeans, the five-pocket style, and get washed in massive — and increasingly eco-friendly — washing machines. Sometimes stuff is tossed in to achieve sand- or stone-washed effects, all in an effort to make a pair feel softer and broken in. Other effects include using high-tech lasers to burn designs into the fabric, and jeans literally being torn and repaired to mimic the scars and blemishes of a well-lived life. But because it’s not your life, it’s hard for us to recommend them. Which leaves you with a handful of options:

Dark Wash: Though even the darkest wash jeans are still decidedly casual, these pairs have what it takes to make it in a serious setting. Pair it with a crisp white shirt, a lightweight sweater and a blazer for work.
Light Wash: Go a little lighter for date night. Keep it clean, but feel free to go for whiskering — those thin, faded lines across the front that looks like you’ve been standing and sitting in this pair forever—or some light faded effects across the seat and thighs.
Distressed: Some abrasion here and there, usually a bit paler, more faded. More emphasis on points of wear like the butt, thighs, and pockets. Great for a tailgate or other similarly casual settings.

    Stretch

Twill refers to the way denim is woven (this method causes those diagonal lines you can see if you look very closely), and this method is what makes denim so tough and so stiff.

In an attempt to keep up with the increasing demand for clothes that work hard and look good, most modern denim makers now sneak a little stretch fiber into their jeans for comfort and flexibility. Stretch also helps keep jeans from getting saggy, so they look great all day. Most companies limit the mix to one or two percent of overall material makeup, using fibers like lycra or elastane. Others are adding performance fibers to denim, like Coolmax®?for moisture and temperature management. While our recommendations include some of these materials, many are 100 percent cotton.

    Care

While some serious denim aficionados insist on never washing your jeans, the reality is that most guys should wash their jeans. The editors at Denimhunters, a subscription-based denim learning platform, have found that if you don’t wash raw denim, the fiber may become brittle and break prematurely. Here’s your playbook for keeping jeans fresh, but not stripping them of their color too quickly:

    1. Wash denim with similarly colored clothing.
    2. Turn jeans inside-out before washing to preserve color and finish.
    3. Use a cold water and the gentle cycle in the washing machine.
    4. Use a gentle detergent such as Woolite. Avoid bleach, spot cleaners or fabric softeners.
    5. Have a top loader? Start the machine first, then when the soap and water are completely mixed, throw in jeans and run a full cycle.
    6. To dry, roll in a towel to remove excess water. Lay flat or hang to finish drying.
    7. Tumble drying causes shrinkage and breaks down fibers (specifically those added for stretch). If you must, use a low heat cycle and run for as little time as possible. But your best bet is line drying.

Hamilton’s Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO is a movie tie-in with Christopher Nolan’s TENET

Over the years we have amassed a catalog of awesome items that are available in an all-black ensemble. To start off, there was the BMW X6 Vantablack as the darkest there is available on a commercial vehicle. What follows the O.CT Mercedes-AMG GT R, Vollebak Blackout hoodie, and Hublot Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto. These are just a few examples of what we love to see and Hamilton gladly follows with another. The Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO is a special edition with a movie tie-in.

This is not their first partnership because, in 2014, renowned director Christopher Nolan worked with Hamilton. It was to develop the Khaki Field Murph Auto for his epic sci-fi film Interstellar. Now, he is once again partnering with the watchmaker in promoting his upcoming sci-fi thriller TENET. Now, you have an opportunity to own this stealthy limited-edition timepiece before all are spoken for. Moreover, it supposedly holds some hints at the film’s narrative.

The Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO is available in two variants with the notable differences visible on the second hand. It’s either a blue or rep tip, which Hamilton claims will have some references in the film. Each version ships with an interesting packaging that matches the color of the aforementioned component. With that out of the way, its time to talk what they share. The 46mm case is titanium with a black PVD coat and a sapphire crystal.

The shadowy theme continues with the rotating bezel and the matte black dial with Arabic numeral hour markers. Next are the minute and hour hands which have grey Super-LumiNova fillings. Running the show is Hamilton’s robust H-10 automatic calibre with an 80-hour power reserve. Overall, we love the mysterious presentation of the Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO.

STEAL: Up to 70% Off Sale Styles at Nordstrom

We’re not going to pretend that the world has completely returned to normal because that’s still a ways out, but we’re trying to add a sense of normalcy back into our daily lives by dressing…

11 Style Releases We’re Completely Obsessed About This Week

This week, a maelstrom of goods flooded our inboxes. We bookmarked tabs, calculated the room left in our closets and planned accordingly to fit the latest stylish goods into our lives. The calendar says it’s still summer, but the digital shelves (and gaunt trees outside of my bedroom window) tell a different story. It’s telling us that quilted leather down-filled boots are a thing our soul knew we wanted, even though science said it was impossible. It’s telling us that Christoph Lemaire is a dictating the rest of our wardrobe indefinitely. It’s telling us that fall is here and we can really start dressing.

model sitting

Courtesy Uniqlo

It wasn’t too long after the first crispy leaf fell that we kept a tab open for Uniqlo’s next huge drop, specifically for its Uniqlo U collection. With renowned designer Christophe Lemaire at the helm, Uniqlo U has proven to be the best style-per-dollar (a totally real metric) and the default style choice of fashion heads. Now, it’s finally here.

The collection is clean and flawlessly tailored with relaxed silhouettes that aren’t sloppy by any means. The discerning color palette is sobering after the deluge of technicolor tie dye and acid-dipped tees of this past summer. It’s filled with tasty corduroy, buttery merino wool and slick quilted fabrics, all at the incredible price point the brand’s known for.

While the entire collection is independently verified heat, these are just a smattering of the pieces to get if you have to absolutely restrain yourself.

You Wouldn’t Expect This Premium Leather on a Pair of Sperrys

After falling overboard and into the ocean, Paul Sperry didn’t blame the slippery ship deck — he blamed his shoes. He set out to create a non-slip shoe ready to take on soaked decks and the boat shoe as we know it today was born in 1935. His brand has been the go-to brand ever since for nautical footwear and a staple of preppy style. Now, its latest release infuses a wabi-sabi mindset into its shoes with patina-ready natural vegetable-tanned leather.

Part of its premium Cloud collection, the release features four shoes with full-grain leather linings and footbeds for both durability and comfort. While the two sneakers feature vulcanized rubber construction and siped soles — the invention that made Sperry a success — the boat shoe and the tassel loafer stand on thick Vibram soles with welted construction.

But, the highlight of the collection has to be the uppers. All four shoes in the collection are made using natural, undyed vegetable-tanned leather. Because it’s left in its natural, undyed state, the leather starts out light pink. But with wear, exposure to the sun and gathering of oils over time, the leather will drastically change and form a deep patina that’s unique to you. Think of it like raw denim — you wear it in and achieve your own fades.

These Premium Sneakers Are Radically Affordable

New York-based Thursday Boot Co. just released its first sneaker that delivers top quality details for a radically affordable price. The Premier Low Top features top-tier leather uppers, Vaquetta leather insoles, 2mm EVA cushioned insole covers and dual density rubber outsoles — all for just $129.

The minimalist design shows the natural beauty of the leathers — sourced from the legendary Horween and Carpanese tanneries — devoid of superfluous stitching details. These are some of the best premium sneakers available and cost a fraction of price of the competition. To learn more about the style and what makes them stand out, we talked to Thursday Boot Co. CEO and co-founder Nolan Walsh.

What was the impetus to expand from boots to sneakers?

At first I was pretty resistant to the idea of expanding into sneakers because I was not confident we could do something additive to what was already on the market. After tabling the idea to pursue sneakers, late one night I was voicing my hesitancy to my friend/CMO, Zach Jacobs, and he asked me “then which sneakers on the market do you think are perfect?”

I didn’t have an answer, so I started to look around more closely. I couldn’t find any perfectly clean sneakers with top tier materials at what I would consider a reasonable price point, so we set out to do the same thing with sneakers that we did with boots five years earlier. Make the highest quality, most comfortable, timeless sneaker possible, and sell it at the lowest sustainable markup possible.

How did you choose the silhouette of the Premier Lop Top?
I love a minimalist aesthetic, particularly when it comes to men’s fashion. High quality materials, impeccable technical construction and comfort are all necessary for the smart, effortless style that I most appreciate. When I was looking around before starting the sneaker project, I was amazed I couldn’t find a single sneaker that was pristine, and perfectly clean — if you don’t trust me, look for yourself.

Every sneaker I found had some unnecessary pattern or stitch work. As the true shoe dogs know, adding stitches and pattern work allows for lower quality materials and are typically easier to produce because it is easier to hide flaws. With big pattern pieces, there is nowhere to hide the flaws. Doing the cleanest visible pattern forces us to have every technical element of the construction perfect, that challenge is what got me excited about the project.

How did you make the sneaker better?
We sweat all the details: every millimeter of the last, custom outsole molds in every half size so that the fit is perfect — very atypical — and even densities of every element. The easiest example from a pattern perspective is the collar foam. As you probably know, most brands have some heel and collar stitchwork or overlay pieces to keep the collar foam in place and looking consistent as opposed to doing the R&D to make the perfect collar foam for their specific last. To maintain a clean look and optimize comfort we tested countless types of foam with different thicknesses densities and cutting shapes before settling on our low density high rebound foam cut in a, somewhat-difficult-to-explain ¾ cylindrical, ¼ angled edge shape.

thursday boots sneakers

What makes these sneakers stand out from others at this price?
Well, I must concede that everyone is going to say their sneakers are well made and that their fit is perfect, so I think the easiest differentiator for a potential customer to look at is the material composition. Our sneakers feature rich leather uppers from the finest tanneries in the USA (Horween) and Italy (Carpanese), buttery soft sheepskin lining, dual-density natural rubber outsoles and Vaquetta leather insoles.

Furthering the point, our insole leather supplier appreciatively told us that we are the only client he’s ever had in his two decades in business who did insole leather density testing and receiving insole leather cuts in a specific custom density range. I don’t think people need to simply take us on our word when we say our sneakers are a great value. Try finding another sneaker less than $130 using leathers from our tanneries partners, and you’ll see that we are serious about our low markup philosophy.

What about the upper leathers?

We didn’t just want to do the run of the mill leather sneakers. It was important to us that the sneakers tie into our boot collection. While I love white and black sneakers and felt they were necessary evergreen colorways, the more difficult choices were the 3 other colorways. We’ve been working with Horween since we started Thursday and their leathers have a unique heritage Americana aesthetic. We went with Essex, Chromexcel (Natural) and Waxed Flesh Roghout (Cacao) — three very different tannages — to give a sense of texture to the line while staying true to the Heritage Americana aesthetic we love.

Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE are finally official

After months of speculation it’s finally official, the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE are here. The latest models were unveiled during the company’s Time Flies event which also revealed the iPad Air 4 and iPad 8. Over the years, the wearable has been the best-selling smartwatch in the market. Moreover, many users continue to laud its health-centric features such as fall detection and the built-in electrocardiogram.

Now, the latest flagship brings another set of functions many have been requesting for quite some time. Before we go into that, let’s talk about the design. Ever since the first-generation model was introduced, the form factor has been the same. Same goes for the more affordable option, which makes us wonder if there will ever be one with a round display.

The Apple Watch Series 6 is available in four colors: Silver, Blue, Gold, and (PRODUCT) RED. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch SE has three: Space Gray, Gold, and Silver. As for the processor, the Series 6 comes with an S6 processor with a U1 chip, while the SE packs an S5 silicon. Both will ship with WatchOS 7 out of the box on September 18, 2020. Although Apple Watch users are already enjoying a comprehensive suite of fitness-related features, the developers are adding two more.

First is sleep tracking, which uses the motion sensors of the Apple Watch Series 6 to gauge how well you rest up for the day. Then there’s the SP02 monitoring, which, in our current situation, gives users an idea of how well their body performs during a workout or more. Blood oxygen along with other metrics provides a detailed overview of one’s overall health. Unfortunately, the Apple Watch SE does not have this on board.

The 7 Best Beard Trimmers You Can Buy in 2020

An electric beard trimmer is a necessity for maintaining facial hair. The best ones are intuitive and offer a range of settings for general hair trimming and precision touch-ups.

In recent years, advances in rechargeable batteries have allowed for cordless trimmers to run up to an hour or more. Many beard trimmers on the market also utilize blades that require very little upkeep — as a general rule: look for self-sharpening steel blades that don’t require oil before each use.

You’ll also want to consider how, and where, you’ll be using it. Have you maintained the same beard for years and just need a one-trick pony? Do you alternate between short and long styles and need a trimmer that offers a lot of variety? Will you take your trimmer on business trips or are you leaving it in a bathroom cabinet? Finally, what’s your budget?

No matter how you answered any of these questions, our picks have you covered.

Gildan amazon.com

The brand that introduced the sweatshirt automatically deserves a spot on this list. Its Dri-Power Fleece Sweatshirt is one of the most popular on Amazon and it’s thanks to its 50-50 cotton-poly fleece fabric that boasts softness and quick-drying capabilities. At nine ounces, the fabric also makes the sweatshirt a fantastic option for year-round wear.

Organic Raglan Crew Neck Sweatshirt

Long-Sleeve Sweatshirt

Uniqlo uniqlo.com

And, it comes in the full color gamut, which is good if you’re tempted to buy more than one.

Reverse Weave Crew

Champion LIFE zappos.com

Champion is a stalwart in the sportswear game and it’s no surprise that one of its sweatshirts should be on this list. The brand’s famous Reverse Weave fabric is hardy and hefty. At 12 ounces, it’s one of the heaviest at this price point. And, because of its unique weave, won’t shrink in length. The additional ribbed gussets at the sides of the torso allow for greater range of motion, too, making it a great option to actually exercise in.

Champ Eco Fleece Sweatshirt

Alternative Apparel zappos.com

$50.00

If your sweatshirt priorities are lie in comfort, Alternative Apparel’s Champ Eco Fleece Sweatshirt should be on your radar. It’s made from a ridiculously soft blend of polyester, cotton and rayon for a silky smooth feel. The raglan sleeves and flatlock seams also add to its comfortableness.

Carhartt Crewneck Pocket Sweatshirt – Men’s

The Seamaster Diver 300M Nekton Edition shows Omega’s support for ocean conservation

Omega recently introduced James Bond fans a chance to own a limited-edition Seamaster Diver 300M. Only 7,007 examples will be in circulation globally, which should not take long for collectors to snap up everything. Now, the Swiss watchmaker is ready to collaborate once more, but this time to hopefully benefit nature. Hence it’s partnering with Nekton – a not-for-profit research foundation that focuses on the conservation of our oceans – to offer a special version of its iconic diver’s watch.

The Seamaster Diver 300M is a model that many associate with our planet’s biggest bodies of water. Hence, its partnership with the UK-registered charity which has ties with the University of Oxford. The goal is to explore, monitor, and protect the marine ecosystem from whatever that might upset the balance. Each sale Omega makes allows the company to continue its support for Nekton and others.

Hence, those shopping for a stylish and dependable timepiece might want to consider the Seamaster Diver 300M Nekton Edition. Notable features include a 42 mm steel case with a grade-5 titanium unidirectional rotating bezel. This gives it’s a stark contrast against the matte black ceramic dial with polished wave patterns. Meanwhile, Omega is using a cutting-edge laser-ablation process to engrave these sections of the watch.

Turning it over to look at the case back shows a submarine medallion engraving to remind users of its exclusivity. Powering the Seamaster Diver 300M Nekton Edition is Omega’s Master Chronometer Calibre 8806. Finally, its self-winding movement boasts a 55-hour power reserve, which is impressive. Availability starts in October with pricing details to follow.

The Adidas Star Wars ZX 2K BOOST Is An Homage To Han Solo’s Confidence

Adidas continues its homage to iconic Star Wars characters with the release of the ZX 2K BOOST. This pair pays tribute to the legendary Han Solo especially the color scheme of his wardrobe.

This stylish pair uses “Core Black” synthetic fabrics and TPU overlays for the upper structural support. This is a call out to Han Solo’s iconic black vest. Meanwhile, “Sand” leather with more “Core Black” TPU comprises the heel construction and this combination harks to the pilot’s shirt.

The “Sand” on the midsole of the Adidas Star Wars ZX 2K BOOST complements the black boost that runs along the full length of the sole and gives the overall look a masculine and confident appeal, just like Han Solo himself. A special nod to the Millenium Falcon commander is notably found on the shoe’s strap-buckle that sits over the laces. The buckle is reminiscent of his blaster gun holder from the color of the strap to the metal buckle.

Moreover, a Han Solo patch is cleverly stitched on the tongue along with a “Star” and “Wars” lace locks. Another set of lace locks that spell out “Han Solo” and another that replicates the Millenium Falcon rounds up Adidas’ homage to the galactic hero.

The Adidas Star Wars ZX 2K BOOST sells for approximately $197 USD. It is a special edition designed to celebrate the 40th “Star Wars” anniversary of Episode V. The Han Solo shoes are tin the designs catered to the characters of “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” along with Lando Calrissian, C3PO, Darth Vader, and more.

Huawei’s Watch GT 2 Pro boasts a titanium case with sapphire glass and more

Apple is gearing up for a big announcement next week according to their recent press release. Despite talks of the iPhone 12 taking center stage, multiple sources are saying otherwise. It seems the Cupertino-based tech titan is ready to finally debut the Apple Watch Series 6. It’s probably why Samsung is aggressively promoting the Galaxy Watch 3. Meanwhile, despite its trade restriction woes in the United States, Huawei is ready to take on the new wearable with its Watch GT 2 Pro.

This is the latest follow-up to its popular Watch GT 2 and Watch GT 2e. Unlike the other models before it, there are a host of new elements that you should consider. First off is the premium build quality and design. The Watch GT 2 Pro drops the stainless-steel case in favor of titanium. The lightweight-yet-durable metal is paired with a sapphire glass lens.

The Watch GT 2 Pro sports a round 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a 454 x 454 HD resolution. It uses a HiSilcon Kirin A1 + STL4R9 chipset with a 32 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. The device runs on Huawei’s proprietary LiteOS platform which allows it last longer than other smartwatches. Equipped with a 455 mAh battery, normal usage should let it last up to 14 days on a single charge.

Huawei is offering two color options: Night Black and Nebula Gray. Owners can also choose between a black flouroelastomer or a gray/brown leather strap. Another interesting improvement over its regular versions is the support for wireless charging. Finally, the Watch GT 2 Pro is only available in one size — 46 mm.
