Pagani Huayra R: Track Only Hypercar with $3.1 Million Price Tag Revealed

Meet the new Pagani Huayra R, a track only hypercar based on the road legal Huayra model and limited to just 30 units. With fewer regulations to meet, the engine is now naturally aspirated just like the Zonda R. Each unit will cost interested buyers $3.1 million excluding taxes.

The new Huayra R comes 12 years after the reveal of the Zonda R back at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. A year before this, Pagani was already working on the Huayra road car and it was the desire for freedom that brought about the Zonda R. As the Huayra life cycle comes to and end, Horacio and his team have decided to repeat the same feat – desire for freedom through the new Huayra R.

This will be a track only hypercar and the most extreme Pagani model to date. We expect to see a few road legal conversions, similar to what select owners of the F1 GTR, Senna GTR, P1 GTR and FXX K did to their cars.

Pagani wanted to bring back F1 sounds of the 80s through the new Huayra R, they teamed up with engine specialists HWA AG to create a 6.0L naturally aspirated V12 solely for this new model. The regular Huayra has a 6.0L V12 Biturbo from AMG that sounds completely different from the naturally aspirated unit. This new ‘V12-R’ produces 850hp at 8250rpm and a maximum torque of 750nm between 5500 to 8300 rpm. This power is then transferred to the rear wheels via a new 6-speed sequential gearbox. The engine weighs only 198kg and can rev up to 9,000rpm. Service will be required after every 10,000km.

The exhaust system is made of Inconel just like F1 cars, and can be fitted with mufflers to meet sound regulations at racing tracks. The weight has been reduced to the bare minimum, tipping the scale at just 1,050kg. The monocoque is made of both Carbo-Titanium and Carbo-Triax materials.

The suspension features independent double wishbone made of forged aluminum alloy with helical springs and electronically controlled shock absorbers. It rides on 19 inch wheels all round made of APP forged monolithic aluminum alloy. These wheels are then matched to Pirelli P Zero slick tires.

Rivals include the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, Aston Martin Valkyrie Pro and the Gordon Murray T.50s – all track only hypercars.

$3.2 Million Valentine’s Gift: 1 of 1 Bugatti Chiron Sport Gifted to Wife

A lucky Lady named Alice will be the recipient of a one off Bugatti Chiron Sport commissioned by her husband as a gift, revealed by Bugatti just one day before Valentine’s. The gentleman ordered it through HR Owen Bugatti in London, every bit of the car has been personalized to meet Alice’s taste. The $3.2 million plus Bugatti Chiron Sport “Alice” is finished in Matt Blanc and Silk Rose – the only Chiron in this combination thus making it a 1 of 1.

The Silk Rose exterior color was combined with Matt Blanc color which dominates the outer shell, lower trim and the alloy wheels. The interior consists of a mix of leather and Alcantara materials finished in Gris Rafale, Alice logo stitching on the headrest of the seats and Chiron Sport stitchings elsewhere in the cabin. The Alice logo can also be found on the silk rose door sills finished in aluminum.

Revealed in 2018, the Chiron Sport has a firmer chassis that provides sharper handling and agility. It’s lighter than the standard Chiron due to the use of more carbon fiber, the 8.0L W16 engine still produces 1500hp. A quad tip exhaust system differentiates it from the regular Chiron. Each unit is going for a price of 2.65 million euros.

A fitting Valentine’s Gift, isn’t it?

Performance numbers and the price have not been mentioned. Given it’s a one off, we would not be surprised if the price matches that of similar Speedsters like the Monza SP2 – $1.6 million range or more!

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut: Top Speed Model Aims at 500km/h Mark!

The top-speed focused Koenigsegg Jesko did materialise earlier this week. It had been widely rumoured during the lead up to the Geneva Motor Show 2020. The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is set to be the fastest Koenigsegg ever built and compromise downforce for a low drag coefficient.

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut isn’t a special edition either. What Koenigsegg has unveiled is essentially a spec option, available to all Jesko customers.

The Koenigsegg’s USP is its extremely low drag coefficient. At just 0.278 Cd, it glides through the air, using optimised aerodynamics to stabilise the experience. Downforce is reduced to 40 kg at 250 km/h up to a maximum of 150 kg. The standard Jesko has 800 kg at 250 km/h with a maximum of 1,400 kg.

The drag coefficient is achieved through the ditching the massive rear spoiler. Two fins replace it, taking inspiration from the F-15 fighter jet. The practical effect is to clm airflow over the rear bodywork, reducing total drag.

Further changes include an extended rear hood, covered rear wheels, a lowered ride height and the removal of the front wheel louvres and front hood air duct.

Koenigsegg refuses to say exactly how fast the Jesko will go. Announcing the car, Christiaan von Koenigsegg made it clear that Koenigsegg is open to the idea of testing the top speed but didn’t yet have a location to conduct such a test. The previous record run in the Koenigsegg Agera RS was carried out on a closed road in the US, it’s not entirely clear whether such a road might yield higher speeds, perhaps in excess of the 300 mph mark.

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Specs

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut uses that same twin-turbocharged 5.0 litre V8, mounted to a 180-degree crankshaft and a nine-speed Light Speed Transmission system. Power totals 1,600 bhp on E85 feel with 1,500 Nm of torque at 5,100 rpm.

Koenigsegg has made adjustments to the suspension too, the front suspension is more compact, it is softer too, which makes it a less serious drive around a race track. Koenigsegg also claims that a 1:1 power ratio is achieved with a full tank of fuel, luggage and two persons on board.

Koenigsegg’s press conference also confirmed that the Regera will finish production by the end of this year, allowing Koenigsegg to begin production of the Jesko next year alongside its other projects.

Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Revealed with $3.35 Million Price Tag

Another special edition Bugatti Chiron arrived this afternoon. The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is limited to 60 examples. This is the Chiron for you if you like the idea of a massive fixed rear wing!

The Pur Sport benefits from less weight and a sharper focus on downforce, its the Chiron for those winding roads. The Pur Sport gets a close-ratio transmission, high-performance tyres with a new material mix geared towards extreme grip as well as an agile chassis and suspension setup.

Whereas the Chiron Super Sport 300+ was set up to hit top speeds, the Pur Sport is set up for optimum lap times. The front gets wide air inlets and an enlarged horseshoe panel to extract air from the radiators. The splitter is lower to the ground which helps to maximise downforce.

A new split paintwork design has been developed for the Pur Sport. The bottom is a carbon fibre panel while the top half is painted with the choice of a custom centre-line and accents.

The rear is dominated by a 1.90 metre rear spoiler. Part of the 50 kg weight loss is caused by losing the hydraulic component of the Chiron’s automatic rear spoiler. A more aggressive rear diffuser is combined with a distinctive 3D-printed titanium exhaust tip.

Inside, Alcantara surfaces help reduce weight. Patterns have been lasered into the Alcantara door trim panels. All trim and controls are made exclusively of either black, anodised aluminium or titanium.

The wheels are also unique to the Pur Sport. They are magnesium and feature an optional aero blade. The rings fitted to the rim extract air outwards from the wheel. Each of the 5 lug nuts gets a special cover that reduces turbulence. The measures applied to the wheels alone save 16 kg.

Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Rear

The chassis modifications include 65% firmer springs at the front and 33% firmer springs at the rear, an adaptive damping control strategy geared towards performance as well as modified camber values (minus 2.5 degrees). Bugatti add carbon-fibre stabilisers at the front and rear. 19 kg of weight is lost here.

On top of the usual Chiron drive modes, the Chiron Pur Sport features a new Sport + drive mode. The main difference is that the traction control system kicks into action on dry race tracks at a significantly later point. Changes to the transmission mean that the gear ratio that has been configured 15% closer together.

The 8.0 litre W16 engine still kicks out a massive 1,500 hp and 1,600 Nm of torque. Due to the higher levels of downforce, the Pur Sport tops out at 350 km/h. Bugatti hasn’t released any performance details aside from the claim that the Chiron Pur Sport accelerates from 60 to 120 km/h almost two seconds faster than the standard Chiron.

40 units of the Bugatti Divo should arrive next year with these Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport models set to be produced in the second half. 60 will be available at three million euros excluding VAT. With the 250th Chiron already leaving the factory gates, and 30 Chiron Super Sport 300+ announced, we calculate that there are a further 120 Chirons left before Bugatti’s self-imposed 500-car quota is hit.

Bugatti Chiron Sport “Edition Noire Sportive”: The 250th Chiron Revealed

It’s hard to believe that it has been almost 4 years since the Bugatti Chiron debuted. Earlier this week, Bugatti revealed its 250th Chiron, the Bugatti Chiron Sport “Edition Noire Sportive”.

The Bugatti Chiron Sport “Edition Noire Sportive” marks a staggering milestone for Bugatti. 250 cars have left the Bugatti factory with a further 150 already paid for, this means that fewer than 100 units are still available for sale.

The Edition Noire Sportive features a satin black carbon fibre body which extends into the interior, coupled with black leather. Chrome work has been blacked out and a Noire signature applied to the door jambs and under the rear spoiler.

The Bugatti Chiron Sport “Edition Noire Sportive” is one of 20 Chiron Noire’s planned for production as a limited edition run. Each costs an additional 100,000 euros on top of the normal Chiron Sport.

Otherwise, this Chiron shares its looks with the Bugatti Chiron Sport. This means that it gets the Chiron Sport’s new wheel design and four-pipe exhaust deflector as well as its carbon fibre windscreen wipers.

Under the rear bonnet sits an 8.0-litre W16 powerplant producing 1,500 hp with 1,600 Nm of torque. The Sport is 18 kg lighter than the standard Chiron.

The Bugatti Chiron Sport “Edition Noire Sportive” will be on display at the Bugatti stand at the Geneva Motor Show 2020 which starts the week after next.

Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo Unveiled in Monaco

At an event in Monaco yesterday, Lamborghini announced its contribution to the Gran Turismo Sport world! Gamers will be able to get the Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo in game, very soon!

The single seater concept was produced by Lamborghini Centro Stile in Sant’Agata Bolognese. While the design work is out of this world, the drivetrain is firmly based in reality, lifted from the recently-announced Lamborghini Sián FKP 37.

The Sian uses Lamborghini’s preferred engine, the V12, and couples it to a hybrid drivetrain. The V12 is said to produce 785 hp with the addition of titanium intake valves. The electric element is run from a 48 volt system and uses a “supercapacitor” to store power from an e-motor. The e-motor produces an additional 34 hp for an overall total of 819 hp.

In terms of design, everything runs to a point at the front, as with all Lamborghini’s. A large wing housing a significant Y-taillight dominates the rear. The main body is disconnected from the fenders, and the hexagon-inspired theme in the side windows is inspired by the Lamborghini Marzal from 1968.

The Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo weighs just 819 kg, 1 horsepower for every kilogram of weight. The fighter jet inspired monoposto styling clearly helps with this! Inside, a holographic display is on offer.

Rodin Cars FZero Hypercar

For the longest time, the automotive industry’s ultimate peak in performance and speed were called supercars. Now, manufacturers are pushing the boundaries even further to break limits. These automobiles are steadily becoming the new standard for the extreme. Hypercars, as everyone is collectively calling them are flaunting insane spec sheets that exceed expectations. One such model that we are now learning more about is the Rodin Cars FZero.

Hailing from New Zealand, the shop is crashing scene that Aston Martin is currently dominating with the Valkyrie AMR Pro. It’s by no means an easy feat going up against the British powerhouse, but the FZero is not planning to back down.

Upon observation, its easy to note that this hypercar is brimming with cutting-edge technology to race against the best. Don’t let the super-aggressive aesthetics fool you into thinking that this is a track-only beast. It would be a shame to keep this monster away from the public, which is why it’s surprisingly street legal.

Underneath its sleek shell is a Neil Brown Engineering V10 naturally-aspirated engine already capable of pushing forth 700 horsepower. However, with the help of two first-party turbochargers, it will be easy for this hypercar to go above 1,000 horsepower. In fact, we are hearing talk about this machine potentially breaking beyond 1,600 HP in the near future.

It is clear that the Rodin Cars FZero is aiming to be the very best, which is why the entire setup just weighs a staggering 1,333 pounds. Alongside its amazing aerodynamics, you can be sure that this ride will boast exceptional handling. This is one hypercar that we are going closely keep tabs on as more developments come up in the future.

1 of 9 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster for Sale in Dubai

Following the announcement that Teodorin Obiang’s Lamborghini Veneno will be auctioned in Geneva, UAE-based dealership Al Ain Class has revealed that it has secured its own Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. The iconic supercar dealership has secured one of 9 examples. If you weren’t a fan of the cream colour scheme applied to the Bonhams car, here is your opportunity for something less controversial!

The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is one of the rarest Lamborghini’s of all time. It was built, following the release of the Veneno Coupe, on the structure of the Lamborghini Aventador and served as a precursor to the Aventador SV.

The car Al Ain Class are offering is finished in matte naked carbon fibre. Alongside the usual tricolour flag details, this car also features a red coach line at the very bottom of the bodywork and on the edge of the front fenders. Inside, there is a blend of red leather, black Alcantara and gloss carbon fibre.

Al Ain Class’ listing suggests that the vehicle is brand new. The estimate Bonhams have placed on their car is £4,2 million to £5 million, this particular example will undoubtedly sell for more with its less controversial colour scheme. It seems clear that we are looking at the most expensive modern Lamborghini.

(EDIT: This article, as originally published, suggested that the car was being sold with 820 miles on the clock. This is incorrect, it in fact had 85 kms on the clock)

Aston Martin Valhalla

Even until now, the fact remains that only society’s elite can afford to own supercars and hypercars. These high-performance automobiles are masterpieces that only the best designers and engineers can manage to create. Now, one British carmaker is preparing a worthy offering that will even tempt the gods. So let’s witness in reverence the impending arrival of the Aston Martin Valhalla. It’s going to be a mythical chariot on track to become a legend. Just one look at its jaw-dropping aesthetics is already giving us goosebumps.

Some of you might recognize it as the AM-RB 003 concept. It made its debut during the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Insiders point out that Aston Martin is naming it Valhalla for a specific reason. Just like the Vantage and the Valkyrie, the brand is reportedly assigning all of its high-performance models names starting with the letter “V” as a tradition. You should know that British Formula One engineer Adrian Newey and Red Bull Advanced Technologies are also on board with the project.

This follow-up to the marque’s first hypercar uses ultra-lightweight materials and exceptional aerodynamics. It appears that the engineers are going with carbon fiber components all around to keep weight to a minimum. Intimate details regarding its powertrain are still under wraps, but it will apparently rely on a crossbred configuration. We’re talking about a high-output, high-efficiency V6 turbocharged petrol engine alongside a hybrid battery-electric system. We’re expecting to see a celestial spec sheet when more details regarding the Aston Martin Valhalla pop up in the future.

Seized Hypercars of Teodorin Obiang to be Auctioned in Geneva

Bonhams has reportedly announced a new auction, to take place at the Bonmont Golf & Country Club in Switzerland, which will facilitate the sale of a staggering collection of hypercars amassed by Teodorin Obiang. The cars were seized by Swiss authorities in 2016 as part of an investigation into the embezzlement of Equatorial Guinea’s state funds.

The collection includes a white Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, a Koenigsegg One:1, a McLaren P1 and a Bugatti Veyron. A collection of 25 cars will apparently hit the auction block with news sources suggesting that these will include models from “Bentley, Maserati, Mercedes-Maybach and Porsche”.

The news has been widely reported and ties up with earlier articles which confirmed that the cars would be sold. Nonetheless, Bonhams website is silent about the proposed auction (at time of writing). So there is no confirmation that it is definitely taking place.

Obiang’s car collection was seized in two tranches. The first cars were seized by French authorities in 2012 with the second set following in 2016. It is widely believed that the cars include a Ferrari Enzo, LaFerrari, Aston Martin One77 and Ferrari F12 tdf.

Teodorin Obiang’s collection is expected to $13 million. The proceeds are to be given to a social programme in Obiang’s home country.

Gordon Murray T.50 V12 Hypercar: McLaren F1 Successor to Debut in 2022

Gordon Murray’s T.50 hypercar will be the successor to the McLaren F1. It’s the car we have been waiting for all these years. Designed to the engineering standards that made Gordon Murray a household name, the Gordon Murray T.50 is a greatest hits of Murray’s design elements. Screaming V12, central driving position, extreme focus on weight reduction, it is all there.

The T.50 was announced earlier today. It is expected to debut in 2022 at a price in excess of £2 million (before taxes). 100 lucky customers will get the opportunity to purchase this extreme hypercar. The draw is that Murray has positioned it away from the current trend of hybrid or fully electric cars.

The press release describes the T.50 as the “purest, lightest, most driver-focused supercar ever built”. The design revolves around a naturally-aspirated, all-new V12 engine. Supplied by Cosworth, the 3.9-litre unit revs through to an extraordinary 12,100 rpm. It produces power of 650 hp and 450 Nm of torque. A roof-fed ram-air induction system increases power up to 700 hp.

Sounds interesting so far. Yet it is the combined elements of the package that make the Gordon Murray T.50 such an exciting prospect. Weight, despite such a large engine, is stated to be 980 kg. It uses a sandwich-panel carbon monocoque with carbon composite panels and double wishbone suspension front and rear.

One of Murray’s most famous innovations, which featured on the unique Brabham BT46B Formula 1 car, also makes a return. Gordon Murray’s ground-effect returns with an all-new underbody airflow system which incorporates a 400mm fan at the rear.

Inside, there are three seats. To keep the focus on the purest driving experience, Murray has also opted for analogue instruments and driver-centric controls. It will be interesting to see how this project develops. The release confirms that T.50 is in the advanced stages of development.

All 125 Koenigsegg Jesko Sold Out in Days

The Koenigsegg Jesko was announced only a few weeks ago at the Geneva Motor Show 2019. Koenigsegg plans to produce 125 as part of a limited production run beginning in 2021. Until that time, there is plenty to do by way of development. One thing Koenigsegg don’t need to think about is customers!

The Koenigsegg Jesko officially sold out before the was even Geneva Motor Show over! The sold-out Jesko, named after Koenigsegg founder, Christian’s father, means that Koenigsegg have nothing further to sell. Both the Jesko and the Regera are completely sold out!

Those who made the order list will be getting something very special. The Jesko is built around a re-designed twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It gets a new 180 degree flat-plane crankshaft, intake and larger turbochargers. Never short of an innovation, Koenigsegg have tackled turbo lag in the most innovative way. An air-injection system pre-spools the turbocharger for instant response.

That engine produces 1,280 hp running on regular fuel with the flexfuel E85 option allowing 1,600 hp in some markets. The power is routed to the rear wheels through a 9-speed multi-clutch gearbox unit that dispenses with traditional synch rings. Active aerodynamics are also a very part of the package.

The cost of each Jesko has yet to be announced, it is safe to assume that it exceeds 6 figures!

Geneva 2019: Pininfarina Battista Electric Hypercar

This is the new Pininfarina Battista, a full electric hypercar and the most powerful car to ever come from Italy.

The Battista shares its powertrain with the Rimac C_Two which is also in Geneva this week. Although the skeleton of the drivetrain is essentially the same, it has been tuned with its own unique acceleration amplitude and the drive mode characteristics. Four electric motors at each wheel combine to produce 1,900 hp. It will manage a sub-2 second 100 km/h sprint, a 300 km/h print of under 12sec and a top speed of around 350 km/h.

Only 150 units of the Battista hypercar will be made, 50 will go to the US, another 50 for the EU and the final 50 for the Middle East.

For more information on the Pininfarina Battista, See our earlier article here. For more from the Geneva Motor Show 2019, click through to our dedicated news channel. Let us know what you want to see in the comments box below!

Koenigsegg Jesko: Agera Successor Revealed at Geneva

Koenigsegg have officially announced the replacement for the Agera! The Koenigsegg Jesko has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2019 and will be available in two version, a road car and a track car. The car itself has been named after Christian’s father, Jesko von Koenigsegg, who was unaware of the tribute until it was announced at the show earlier today.

The Jesko is built around a re-designed twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It gets a new 180 degree flat-plane crankshaft, intake and larger turbochargers. Flat-plane crankshafts normally suffer from increased vibration which Koenigsegg have addressed with active engine mounts lifted from the Agera. An innovative air-injection system pre-spools the turbocharger for instant response.

The V8 produces 1,280 hp running on regular fuel with the flexfuel E85 option allowing 1,600 hp in some markets. Torque reaches 1,500 Nm at 5,100 rpm. The transmission is another unique design. It is a 9-speed multi-clutch unit that dispenses with traditional synch rings yet allows lightning fast changes between any gear. It weighs just 90 kg in total, lighter than a comparable dual clutch unit.

The Koenigsegg Jesko sits on a carbon fibre monocoque, 40 mm longer and 22 mm taller than the Agera allowing additional head and leg room. The triplex damper returns at the rear wheels and an additional version has been added to the front. Koenigsegg have incorporated rear wheel steering too. Carbon fibre wheels are an option and are larger than those found on the Agera RS.

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a master in aerodynamics too. The rear wing is active, similar to the later Agera models. The front splitter is also deeper than ever before with active under body flaps working to maximise downforce. Even the wing mirrors are optimised to produce 20 kg of downforce each! At 275 km/h, the Jesko produces 1,000 kg of downforce.

The bodywork gets a new Koenisgeg technology called Autoskin. It uses electrics and miniaturised hydraulics to operate the doors and hood. This means that the Koenisegg remote key can be used to open most parts of the car. The roof lifts out of the Jesko, as with most Koenigsegg models.

Inside, a new TFT touchscreen is included, inductive phone charging, Bluetooth connectivity and USB inputs. The infotainment system uses a 5 inch racing display mounted to the steering wheel and a 9 inch central display. Two touchscreens on the steering wheel control other aspects of the car.

Pricing and market launch are yet to be revealed with Koenigsegg hoping to sell the Jesko to customers in the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East!

Chinese Company Builds Hypercar Replicas: Veneno, LaFerrari, MC12

Recently, we stumbled across photos of replicas being produced on Instagram. Whilst the origin of the photos is unclear, some suggest China, others are adamant that the pictures were taken in Thailand, what they clearly show is a replica production line.

The photos show a Bugatti Chiron replica together with body shells for the Maserati MC12, LaFerrari, Pagani Zonda and Lamborghini Veneno. The photos also show a finished Lamborghini Veneno Replica apparently in China. Whether the two are connected is also unclear.

Of course, this isn’t the first high quality Lamborghini Veneno Replica we have seen emerge from China. A few years ago, a blue Veneno Replica was spotted in China. That car hasn’t been pictured since and we don’t seem to have seen any further replica’s.

The replica photographed here is apparently based upon a real Lamborghini Aventador. The creator has simply added a new bodykit to create a convincing replica.

The other photos show a Bugatti Chiron replica’s in production. This version looks less complete with sheet metal used to create the shape over the top of an existing chassis of some description. The MC12 and other replica’s look to be mouldings for either fibreglass or carbon fibre shells.

Do you know anything about these replica’s? If so, we would love to hear from you!
