In 1985 the founder of Mystery Ranch, Dana Gleason, invented a revolutionary internal frame design called ArcFlex that permanently changed how pack makers think about load bearing. Ever since I got to test the Reebok Nano 9 last year, I’ve been borderline obsessed with this shoe. Its combination of features — most notably a breathable Flexweave upper, a bifurcated sole for easier running and a beefy midsole wrap for stability during big lifts — make it perfect for high-intensity routines, and I’ve been loving it for kettlebell-heavy home workouts lately. I should add that it’s super durable: I’ve worn it literally hundreds of times, and it’s still going strong.
Since the Nano 9’s flashy debut last year, three related noteworthy events have occurred. First, we named it one of the 10 best fitness products of 2019.
