Save Almost 60% on These American-Made Boots
Save $216: Wolverine’s 1000 Mile boot is easily one of the most recognizable and coveted designs in all of boot-dom — but it’ll cost you. Opening bid for a new pair is around $365. But thanks to Nordstrom Rack, you can save 59 percent on the navy blue suede iteration right n ow. It’s not as classic as brown or black, but it’s a color that’s still versatile enough to work with both jeans and chinos.— Justin Fenner

Orient Mako XL Automatic Dive Watch
Save $190: Japanese brands continuously offer great value for money with respect to watches. Take the Orient Mako XL Automatic dive watch as a case in point: you get an in-house, 21-jewel automatic movement with 40 hours of power reserve, a stainless steel 44.5mm case, a mineral crystal, steel bracelet, day-date display, unidirectional rotating bezel, 200m of water resistance, and the choice of 4 dial colors: black with black bezel, black with green bezel, vaguely-yellowish-greenish-mintish with black bezel and black with orange bezel. And all this for $130 right now on Massdrop. — Oren Hartov

Save $25 on Raen Optics Sunglasses
Save $25: It’s easy to mistake Raen Optics as a brand that’s been around for decades, when in fact it was only founded just 10 years ago. Timeless style, signature architecture and high-end materials give Raen Optics a ranking closer to shades with five times the history and price tag. Today, you can get $25 off select Raen Optic styles. — Bryan Campbell

Instant Pot Ultra
Save $60: The Ultra is also the first Instant Pot to sport a full LCD display (though it isn’t a touchscreen), the first to automatically adjust cook times and temperatures to your altitude level (this is a real problem with less pressure cookers) and comes with a nice, slightly safer pressure release function.

The 8-quart Ultra, the largest of the model, is on sale on Amazon at 33 percent off its retail price.

Mystery Ranch Backpacks
Save 20%: The scope of Mystery Ranch’s backpack collection has grown. The brand is still young — it was founded in 2000 — but the time since it’s expanded from its roots in mountaineering, hunting, wildfire fighting and the military to embrace world travelers and urban dwellers too. The common thread running through all of these categories is durability; even Mystery Ranch’s commuter-oriented Urban Assault uses rugged 500-denier Cordura fabric.

Huckberry is currently selling a full range of Mystery Ranch bags for roughly 20 percent off. The sale includes the new Mission Rover, which is a 43-liter clamshell-style travel backpack that’s built with features like a separate compartment for dirty shoes and small mesh pockets for documents and passports. It’s a bag like this that goes to show that Mystery Ranch isn’t just thinking about its base of hardcore users. — Tanner Bowden

The Old School Motorcycle Jacket You Want is $240 Off
Save 36%: Very few things in the fashion world are as timeless as a leather jacket, especially the bomber. Rev’It’s Pilot Jacket not only captures that old-school style and cool factor, but it’s also a legitimate motorcycle jacket. Elbow, shoulder and back protection is hidden under abrasion-resistant leather to maintain style but provide protection in the event of a fall while riding. The detachable thermal liner and fur collar gives this ageless jacket multi-season functionality too. — Bryan Campbell

ELAC Debut B6 Bookshelf Speakers
Save $50: About two months ago we ran a deal on the ELAC Debut B5 passive speakers – great, Andrew Jones designed bookshelf speakers that are normally $250, but were selling for $200. This time around, there’s a deal on ELAC Debut B6 passive speakers. They’re nearly identical to those other Debut speakers, but the B6 speakers are just a little bigger and a little nicer. They have a significantly larger woofer so you’re gonna get punchier bass. Normally $300, Amazon dropped the price to $250, which is actually now the same price as the smaller B5 speakers. If you’re looking to get a great pair of Andrew Jones-designed passive speakers, here’s your chance. It’s also worth noting that if you want to build out a larger sound system, a handful of the other Debut series speakers are on sale, too. You can get a center console and a subwoofer, both which are $50 off their normal MSRP.

5 Great Pocket Knives Are on Sale Right Now
Save up to 48%: The best knife is the one that you have on you, and right now Massdrop has a vareity of them available at a significant discount. — Tanner Bowden

Z Zegna Dress Shirts
Save 48%:In 1910, Ermenegildo Zegna founded the Lanificio Zegna wool mill in Trivero Italy. Over the past century, the mill garnered a reputation for producing some of the best fabrics available and started its own luxury menswear brand. The family-owned Ermenegildo Zenga brand launched a made-to-measure service in the ‘70s and expanded through the global market in the ‘80s. To appeal to a younger client, the brand created the Z Zegna line in the early aughts.

Though Z Zegna may be more slim-fit and conspicuous, the line still utilizes top-tier fabrics and time-tested construction methods. While the brand’s dress shirts normally retail for over $250, you can save up to 48 percent on a range of them at Nordstrom Rack. Available with a range of collar types and fabrics, prices start at just $127. — John Zientek

Mondaine Railways Tube Desk Clock
Save 25%: While your iPhone is a perfectly adequate time-telling device, those design-obsessed among us tend to gravitate toward something a bit more refined to do the same job. Since the 1980s, Mondaine has held the license from the Swiss Federal Railways to produce clocks and watches based on the Official Swiss Railway Clock, designed in 1944 by engineer Hans Hifiker. Over the years, they’ve produced numerous iterations of the classic Swiss model, which can often be found for sale in design boutiques such as the MoMA Design Store.

If you’re looking for a way to spruce up your desk, right now you can pick up a Mondaine Railways Tube Desk Clock for $75, a $25 savings off the common Amazon price. Available in either black or white, the clock features a simple, Bauhaus-inspired dial, stainless steel case with a mineral crystal and quartz movement that includes day and date functions. Additionally, the clock itself is even removable from the tube-shaped case and can be used as a travel clock. — Oren Hartov

The North Face Ventrix Jacket
Save 45%: Last year, when The North Face revealed Ventrix, it’s first take on active insulation, we were skeptical. Active insulation, a form of synthetic insulation that’s meant to be worn during activity and is highly breathable, isn’t new — if anything, The North Face was quite late to the game. But Ventrix is different; its fluffy structure is perforated with tiny holes that close and expand as the body moves, allowing for dynamic temperature regulation.

It’s an awesome concept, but again, when we first heard about it, we weren’t sold. But then we tried Ventrix — on hikes and ski tours and just around town — and it worked. It worked really well actually, so we included it on our list of Best Synthetic Down Jackets of 2018. We continue to stand by that choice even more so now that The North Face has expanded the scope of Ventrix into a variety of jackets (and a pair of wild-looking shorts) for 2019.

It’s still the most innovative iteration of active insulation we’ve seen, and right now you can even snag the original jacket in last season’s colors for $89 off. — Tanner Bowden

Dyson V10 Cordless Vacuum
Save 16%: Today on Amazon, the V10 Motorhead — the base model, which comes with only the essential detachable heads for difference surfaces and areas — is on sale at its lowest price to date. To my mind, this sale puts the V10 in a more fair price point. — Will Price

Epperson Mountaineering Bags and Backpacks
Save 35%: California-based designer Yuki Matsuda has a penchant for well-made products. Born in Osaka, Japan, Matsuda moved to the US when he was 18 years old and immersed himself in the world of vintage clothing. He bought and sold products at the Rose Bowl market and eventually tapped some of the best craftspeople on the continent to produce some of his own designs. Matsuda works with traditional bootmakers in Maine for his footwear brand Yuketen and collaborates with artisans in Mexico for his knitwear brand Chamula. Monitaly — the clothing brand that Matsuda started in 1995 — riffs on classic American designs like military gear, Baja hoodies and parkas, and is made in America.
When Matsuda wanted to expand into bags and backpacks, he encountered Epperson Mountaineering, the heritage bag brand founded by Mark Epperson in 1973. With a wealth of history to draw on, Matsuda began to offer a range of well-made throwback mountaineering bags under the Epperson name. Made in Montana, the bags utilize industry-standard Cordura, YKK zippers and mountaineering-spec cording.
If you’re in the market for a new bag, head over to End where a range of Epperson Mountaineering bags are 35 percent off. Choose from a tote, a backpack and a travel bag, among others, and rest assured you’ll be getting a top-tier bag for your money. — John Zientek

Orient Executive Sun & Moon V.3
Save $225: Mechanical complicated watches are cool — we’re probably all in agreement on this one. How could something that gives you a day/night indicator or all kinds of calendar information running on a bunch of gears and wheels and the motion of your wrist not be dope? The one problem is that these types of watches are generally pricey. Like, really pricey, if we’re talking about a complicated watch from a top Swiss brand.

The Executive Sun & Moon V. 3 is available on Massdrop right now for $230 ($250 for the gold-tone version) and includes the following functions: 21-jewel automatic in-house movement with 40 hours of power-reserve, stainless steel 42.5mm case with sapphire crystal and display case back, hours/minutes/seconds hands, day and date display, AM/PM indicator in the form of a rotating disc displaying either the sun or moon, and water resistance to 50m. With four dial options available, this is a great entryway for many people into the world of complicated timepieces. — Oren Hartov

Sonos Play:1 Speaker (Refurbished)
Save $30: The Sonos Play:1 speaker normally costs $149, but Sonos is selling certified refurbished models on its website for just $119 – you save an extra $30 per speaker. If you looking to add to your current Sonos system, or if you’re late to the party and just want to try one out, it’s a great chance to one (or more) Sonos speakers on the cheap.

Veja V-10 Suede Sneakers
Save 20%:Founded in 2004, French footwear brand Veja champions ecologically-friendly manufacturing and fair working conditions while producing a range of tasteful sneakers. One of its notable styles, the V-10, is made from ecologically tanned leather, organic cotton and wild rubber from the Amazon. If you’re in the market for a new pair of kicks and want a pair that doesn’t have as much of an impact on the environment, these are well worth the list price. But for a limited time, you can save 20 percent on a pair in light-brown suede at East Dane — that’s $28 off. — John Zientek

Anova Sous Vide Circulator
Save 35%Getting into sous vide requires a circulator, and for that there are two choices that most reviewers and customers lean toward — ChefSteps’ Joule and Anova’s Precision Cooker. Both have apps to control temperature on your smartphone (the Joule’s app is undeniably more robust, complete with hundreds of self-guided recipes and doneness guides), and the Joule is slightly more compact, but Anova’s circulator has buttons to control the device on the actual device, a feature lacking on the Joule.

Today the split decision goes the way of the Anova Precision cooker, which is 35 percent off at Best Buy today (and, for what it’s worth, Anova’s smaller Nano Precision Cooker is also on sale, albeit less so). — Will Price

Fjällräven Gear and Apparel
Save up to 50%: Fjällräven develops and tests its gear in the harsh environs of northern Sweden, but it’s suitable for use all over the globe.— Tanner Bowden

Wolf Howard Valet Tray With Watch Roll
Save DEAL: A valet tray is a required piece of kit for every self-respecting guy, but if you’re also a watch lover with multiple timepieces, it’s tough to find a catch-all solution to store your keys, phone, and watches. One solution is the Howard Valet Tray With Roll from Wolf, which includes five storage compartments, a stationary watch cuff with two watch guards, a removable tray for cufflinks and USB charging and a small watch roll. The Howard has a pebbled leather exterior, ultrasuede lining, chrome-finished hardware and is available in navy or grey finishes. Oh, and right now, it’s available for only $90, a $70 savings from the list price of $160. — Oren Hartov

Save 25% Leatherman tools are revered for their beautiful design, long-lasting durability and high-quality performance. These multitools will help you face any challenge in the backcountry and in the office, too. Whether you need a pocket knife, a bottle opener or a serrated knife (ideally all in one streamlined device), Leatherman is the place to seek and find. — Meg Lappe

Bose QC20 Noise-Canceling In-Ear Headphones
Save $101: Even though there are a bunch of really good over-ear noise-canceling headphones – the Sony WH-1000XM3 being our new favorites, edging out the Bose QC35 II – there aren’t nearly as many good in-ear models. In fact, the Bose makes the two best noise-canceling in-ear headphones out there. There’s the Bose QC20s ($250, wired) and the Bose QC30s ($300, wireless). Both are fairly expensive, but you can get a pretty good deal on the wired models if you go on eBay right now. It’s selling the Bose QC20s for $149, which is over $100 less what Bose is currently selling them for.

Hestra Leather Gloves
Save 50%:Founded in 1936, Swedish brand Hestra makes some of the best leather gloves money can buy. Until recently, the brand was primarily known in North America as a producer of ski gloves, but it also produces a range of ready-to-wear, made-to-measure and bespoke gloves for everyday wear. The gloves are cut and sewn using traditional glove-making techniques which date back to 17th-century France.

Now at Nordstrom Rack, you can save 50 percent on a number of styles from the fourth-generation family-owned business. Watches from Bow & Stern
More and more, we need to be cognizant of the environment in our everyday decision-making. Even when it comes to something as seemingly innocuous as choosing a dive watch, there’s a choice that is always more friendly towards the environment.

Australian accessories brand BOW & STERN is 100% carbon-neutral — a Blue Gum Eucalyptus Tree is planted in the Annya State Forest for every order, and the brand also donates 20% of profits to support ocean conservation efforts. Its recently launched ABYSS Collection on Kickstarter features three 41.5mm automatic dive watches in matte black, brushed gold, and brushed silver; remaining true to the BOW & STERN nautical, minimalist aesthetic design, all three pieces are waterproof to 200m. Only 1,200 of these watches will be produced, and when you pre-order one through the button below, you’ll get a free additional strap.

Crepe Sole Shoes from H by Hudson
Save up to 65% Crepe sole shoes are made from textured sheets of coagulated latex, a material that offers noticeable flexibility and cushioning. If that sounds like something you’d like on your feet, head over to Nordstrom Rack. Currently, you can save on a range crepe-sole shoes from H by Hudson. Prices are $70 or less and styles include derbies, loafers and chukkas, among others.
— John Zientek

Handmade Chelsea Boots from Astorflex
Save $45 Astorflex’s Bitflex provides a model example of what a Chelsea boot can be: it’s handmade in Italy in an eco-friendly process using premium leather and a natural rubber sole. It sounds like hippie-fodder, but it’s handsome enough to pull off at sophisticated summer gatherings. Right now, they’re on sale for $45 less than their full price.— Tanner Bowden

The Best Hiking Socks Available
Save up to 70%: Socks don’t have the same appeal as technical daypacks or down jackets — they’re boring. They aren’t something we get excited to buy. Like all outdoor gear, technical socks — this means zoned cushioning, improved durability and merino wool — serve a purpose. They prevent blisters, frostbite and trench foot. In a word, they’re vital.

They can also be expensive though, but there’s a big difference between a $25 pair and the kind that come in packs of 12. Luckily, Backcountry is hosting a massive sale on all types of technical socks for running, skiing and more, and it includes some of the best hiking socks available. — Tanner Bowden

Levi’s Warehouse Sale
Save 70% Finding the perfect pair of jeans is akin to locating the ideal bottle of wine — tricky, dependent on the day and the weather. And you’ll likely have to test a lot to figure out what your preferences are. While we can’t help you figure out if you like red or white best, we can direct you to the massive sale that’s happening at Levi’s, a heralded name in the denim world. And if you don’t have a pair yet, now’s the ideal time to save on jeans. Just be warned, you will have to enter your email address to get access to the warehouse sale. But the sale is vast — beyond jeans, you can shop for shirts, outerwear, sweaters and sweatshirts all for 70 percent off. — Meg Lappe

Finex Cast-Iron Skillets
Save 25%Love them or despise them, Finex’s cast-iron cookware inspires a certain level of devotee that few other cookware items can claim. Its octagonal shape, golden lid pull, machine-smoothed cooking surface and stainless steel coil handle (which I’m not completely sold on) are instantly recognizable, and a large part of the pan’s allure. On the other end of the love-hate spectrum lies the price — $125 for an 8-inch skillet, $175 for a 10-inch skillet and $195 for a 12-inch skillet (that’s without a lid).

Today on Massdrop, this problem is alleviated (somewhat) — the 8-, 10- and 12-inch skillets are all discounted significantly (click “Join Drop” to get exact prices on each). The drop includes the option to pick up a lid as well, if desired. — Will Price

American Trench Ventile Jackets
Save 25%: We usually tend to avoid cotton in looking for a piece of outerwear; “cotton is rotten,” the old hiker’s mantra goes. The primary reason for that is because cotton garments absorb moisture easily and once they’re wet their warmth benefits are zapped. Not ventile though. Ventile is made from 100 percent extra-long-staple cotton that’s woven in such a tight weave that it’s water repellant.

American Trench’s Ventile jackets — a field coat and a bomber — are also treated with DWR as an extra barrier against the elements. Both are military-inspired styles, which makes sense because Ventile’s first application was in the immersion suits worn by British fighter pilots during WWII and the British Royal Air Force still uses it today. Beyond that, Sir Edmund Hillary wore a Ventile jacket during the first-ever ascent of Mount Everest.

Right now both of these jackets are available for 25 percent off; use the code LAYERUP for the discount. — Tanner Bowden

You could either buy a pair of classic canvas Old Skools for $60, or you could treat yourself to something nice and pick up a pair of premium leather Old Skools from Vans Vault for as little as $59. It’s kind of a no-brainer. To pick up that style — or a handful of others — head over to End, where leather shoes from Vans Vault are currently up to 59 percent off. — John Zientek

But right now, Uniqlo is offering an extra $10 off every style, making one of the greatest values in menswear an even better one. — Andrew Connor

Lodge 12-Inch Cast-Iron Skillet
Save 57%Get this hardy, very large Lodge skillet. For the uninitiated, Lodge is the most prolific cast-iron cookware producer in the US (potentially the world), and its wares come at a satisfyingly low cost. The pans are poured and sand-cast in Lodge’s South Pittsburg, Tennessee factory (the same town the company was started in in 1896), which results in the pebbly surface most people have come to know as the standard (it wasn’t always this way) and are typically pretty heavy, meaning you need to be patient when heating them through.

This 12-inch Lodge pan is 57 percent off today on Amazon, marked down from $40 to $17.
— Will Price

Frye Carter Weekend Bag
Save 45%:It’s hard to beat the rugged versatility of a waxed canvas bag. The heavy-weight fabric is weather-resistant and durable. It ages gracefully with time developing a unique patina — scuffs and scrapes don’t weaken the integrity, they merely add character. If you’re looking to invest in a quality waxed canvas duffel bag for short trips and weekend getaways, Nordstrom Rack has a deal for you. Currently, the Carter Weekend Bag from Frye is 45 percent off and costs just $250 — that’s savings of $208. — John Zientek

They’re significantly more affordable than new models, though with a weaker warranty (three years). — Will Price

Alden Slip-On Chukkas
Save 25%: Founded in 1884, Massachusetts-based Alden Shoe Company makes some of the best dress shoes and boots in America. The brand relies on time-honored manufacturing and the highest quality leathers to maintain its strict standards. Because of this, you’ll rarely see a pair of Alden shoes or boots on sale. Luckily for you, this is one of those uncommon instances.

Now at Need Supply, you can save 25 percent on the brand’s Slip-On Chukka Boot. The style features a heel pull tab, Goodyear welt construction, interior elastic goring and a double oak leather outsole. Bell Eliminator Helmet
Save $70: Rarely do the styles of autoracing and motorcycles cross-pollinate but Bell made an exception when designing the new Eliminator helmet. Taking inspiration from the golden age of motorsport, the Eliminator doesn’t have any fancy vents or aerodynamic fins — just a pillbox opening and ‘speed holes’ for ventilation. The old-school styling does hide the fact that it’s DOT and ECE rated and can be fitted with aftermarket speakers, but that doesn’t hold back the badassery. Nor does the fact you can save $70 when you pre-order the Eliminator today.— Bryan Campbell

The Telegraph Jacket From Taylor Stitch
Save 40%: The lightweight layer is just as easy to wear with chinos and jeans as it is with a pair of the brand’s coordinating trousers, which are also on sale right now.— Justin Fenner

New Balance for J.Crew 520 Sneakers
Save 50%: When Frank Muytjens, former head of menswear design at J.Crew, visited Tokyo in 2009, he was impressed with New Balance’s presence. They weren’t just in athletic stores. They were in forward-thinking menswear stores and small boutiques. They were offered in unique colorways that were geared more towards daily style than gym-wear. In particular, a pair of all-suede basil-green 1400s caught his eye, but he couldn’t make the purchase because the Japan-exclusive style didn’t come in his size. After this experience, Muytjens initiated the first collaboration between New Balance and J.Crew in 2010.

Now, the tonal khaki version is half off and only costs $50. It’s available in sizes 8 to 11 while supplies last, so if you like the silhouette, don’t wait — it’s practically a steal.

Iconic Boots from L.L. Bean
Save $16 L.L. Bean’s duck boots are so popular that the brand has been known to sell out in some years. So while $16 isn’t a massive savings, it’s better to save now than not get a pair at all.— Justin Fenner

Classic Cotton Chinos From Bonobos
Save up to 40%: Bonobos’ Washed Chinos are a solid value, especially in terms of cost-per-wear, at their full retail price of $88. We say that because they go with everything in your wardrobe, can be dressed up or down, are easy to care for and the quality of construction (and material choice) is top-notch.

The brand hasn’t built up such a go-to rep among well-dressed guys by resting on its laurels — but you don’t have to take our word for it. Pick up a pair of these bad boys in navy, olive green or sandy tan for maximal savings ($48 per pair) or spend a bit more for additional color options, and you’ll see why these chinos are so well-respected among the guys who wear them. — Andy Frakes

Vega Sport Protein Sale
Save $27 The world of protein powder is a scary place. The runners on our team often talk about what we do to re-fuel without putting crap into our bodies. My go-to is typically a giant scoop of peanut butter (and then maybe another one), but Vega’s Sport performance protein is a close second choice. I’ve sampled this powder in everything from wake up shakes to post-run peanut butter and banana smoothies, and it’s always tasted great to me. There’s no dry mouthfeel or weird texture with it. You can save $27 when you opt to buy a large tub of the vanilla or chocolate flavors. One thing to note: This deal only lasts until the end of the day, so save while you can. — Meg Lappe

7 For All Mankind
Save 30%As fall nips the air, we find ourselves knee-deep in peak denim season, which means if you’re in need of new jeans it’s time to stock up. The brand 7 For All Mankind is a solid standby, offering tons of different washes, fits and materials. And right now, you can get that quality denim at a massive discount. The brand is offering an additional 30 percent off its sale selection when you use the code 30FAMFRIENDS meaning you can get some great quality denim at an insane price. — Andrew Connor

Red Wing Boots
Save up to 70%: There are plenty of quick and dirty ways in which a company can mass produce leather boots, but in its more than 110 years of business Red Wing has stayed true to methods that lead to the best results. That’s why soldiers fighting in both World War I and World War II trusted Red Wing to shod their feet, and it’s why models like the Iron Ranger, which was initially crafted for iron miners working in Minnesota’s Mesabi Range, continue to endure as a boot fit for both work and casual wear.

That boot, along with a broader selection of Red Wing’s equally-timeless styles, is currently on sale at Sierra Trading Post for as much as 70 percent off. The boots offered in the sale are factory seconds, which means that they’ll last just as long as any other Red Wing products but have an inconsequential blemish or stitching error incurred during the handmade process. Here are three of our favorite styles, but the full selection is worth a look. — Tanner Bowden

Laguiole Steak Knives
Save 30%First things first, these are not genuine Laguiole knives. Genuine Laguiole knives, though the shape is mostly the same, must be made in France and are typically quite a bit more expensive.

These are Laguiole-style steak knives, meaning they borrow the iconic early 19th-century aesthetic developed the tiny French village of Laguiole, and are, rather helpfully, a bit less delicate than the real thing. The serrated, stainless steel blades cut through steak well, are dishwasher-safe and, because the handles are fully sealed, stand up to frequent use well (also, a set of 4 is 30 percent off on Wayfair).

For those interested in the most genuine versions of Laguiole knives still made today, check out Forge de Laguiole and Coutellerie & ForgesHonoré Durand, Laguiole, as both are still made in the village the blade style was invented in and by appropriately trained artisans. — Will Price

Nike Sneaker Sale
Save $30+ Nike has had quite the year of new sneaker releases. From the Epic React to the Pegasus 35 to the Zoom Vaporfly 4% and the Zoom Fly Flyknit, the running sneaker powerhouse continues to pump out new and improved sneakers that keep winning marathons. Eliud Kipchoge ran a new world record in the Zoom Vaporfly 4% sneakers, and Sir Mo Farah won the Chicago marathon setting a new European World Record, also in the 4%. Both the Epic React and Pegasus 35 were designed with athletes in mind. Everything from the foam combination to the design of the heel collar was inspected and thought through with elites. Both pairs of running shoes are on sale today for $35 off in certain colorways. The sizing options are pretty varied, so check them out while you can. — Meg Lappe |

Porter-Yoshida and Co. Camouflage Bags
Save 30%: In recent decades, Porter-Yoshida and Co. has garnered attention in North America for its collection of timeless, functional bags. And, it certainly makes sense — the family-owned Japanese brand has been manufacturing different styles since 1962. Each bag showcases a durable nylon outer shell and a meticulously thought-out design. The price of most items reflects the quality materials and design, but if you’re looking to pick up a Porter-Yoshida bag for less, East Dane has a great sale. Now, you can save 30 percent on three camouflage bags from the brand including a backpack, a helmet bag and a waist bag. If you see a style you like, don’t wait — stock is very limited. — John Zientek

Mid-Century Modern Furniture
Save 15%: Design Within Reach is essentially a museum for the furniture that all other furniture rips off. This is to say the products it purveys are items you’re likely familiar with in shape (like the Tolix chair’s ubiquity in faux-industrial restaurants), but less so in regards to origin. What this means is the furniture and lighting options are original and premium and demand prices as such.

It also means they don’t go on sale all that often, hence the urgency of DWR’s Semiannual Sale, which offers a large swath of DWR’s stock for 15 percent off retail (Note: the sale page on the site is only a selection of what’s actually on sale, you’ll have to browse through the categories you’re interested in to spot more items).

Houseplants
Save Up to 30%: Costa Farms is the largest seller of houseplants in the US by a country mile. Today, almost 20 of its simplest, best-selling houseplants are on sale up to 30 percent off on Amazon of all places.

The lot includes all the hardy, beginner houseplants for those new to the game that is keeping another thing alive. Jade plants ($15), which are virtually immortal, do just fine in indirect light and with very little water (if the leaves start to turn red, move it further from direct light). Snake plants ($17), also unwilling to die despite your best efforts, require watering only when the soil is bone dry and don’t care much for sunlight (but generally aren’t hindered by it). Air plants ($15) don’t even need soil to live (just soak in water once a week).

On top of showing your friends and family you have your life somewhat together, plants in the home act as air recycling and purification centers (according to an old NASA report on the matter, Snake plants are pretty great in this regard).

The Amazon sale lasts until tomorrow afternoon. — Will Price

Insulated Jackets Sale
Save 50%: The beauty of an insulated down jacket is that it’s incredibly warm, yet stuffs up into a pocket and weighs practically nothing. This past week, our Outdoors and Fitness team hiked near Lake Placid in the Adirondacks in New York, and we were reminded of just how cozy a down jacket is. One of our team members wore his down jacket all week long, while I found it extremely beneficial to hike with since the weather was misty and dreary. If I got too hot, off came the puffer and into my hiking pack it went. While it certainly doesn’t feel like fall or winter in the city, the temperatures are changing rapidly. Stocking up on a down jacket — especially one on sale — is a good idea this Columbus Day.— Meg Lappe

LG C8 65-inch OLED TV (2018)
Save $1,500: LG’s 2018 C8 series of 4K OLED TVs are expensive. When they were released this past spring, a 65-inch model was going for $3,500. A few months later, however, that price has dropped over to around $2,997 — that’s over $1,500 off. But today eBay is running a deal on a brand-new C8 for $2,009 – that’s almost $1,500 off. Yes, it’s still expensive, but it’s not that bad considering that we’re talking about LG’s top-of-the-line 4K OLED TV. And LG makes the best 4K OLED TVs. — Tucker Bowe |

Allbirds Wool Runners
Save 33%: Allbirds’ second shoe, called Tree, has an upper made of eucalyptus pulp and laces made of recycled plastic bottles. Its latest is a reimagined sole made of a material it calls SweetFoam, which is made mostly of sugarcane and is billed to be the first carbon-negative EVA (the foam material that gives running shoes their signature bounce and cushion). But it’s still Allbirds’ first shoe, the Wool Runners, that are most often spotted in airports, offices and every place in between. They’re supremely comfortable and light, and at the moment they’re also on sale at eBay for 33 percent off in three colors. — Tanner Bowden

One might call it a steal: just $168 for a jacket that’s usually $259. — Meg Lappe

Prana Mojo Shorts
Save 45%: Nobody likes buying shorts. We wear them when the weather gets so warm that pants become intolerable, or for active pursuits like running and hiking. In either case, the purchase is made more out of necessity than desire (like the kind we harbor for things like selvage denim blue jeans). A quality pair can be expensive, too. Prana’s Mojo Short is typically pricey at $50, but they’re currently marked down by 45% to just $27 at Backcountry. — Tanner Bowden

Kuhn Rikon Peeler
Save 38%: In short, because of a swiveling blade it adjusts to the natural curves of the food you peel, and because that blade is split down the middle it acts as both its own guide (the front of the blade) and edge to remove skin. The space between the both blade edges is also such that food can easily pass through, so clogging is at an all-time low. Another small but impactful difference between the Swiss Peeler and most of its competition is a very tiny elevated area around the blades which, according to Cook’s Illustrated, reduces how much of the food touches the blade, which reduces friction, which allows the blade to “glide like butter.”

A three-pack of Kuhn Rikon’s Swiss Peelers is on sale on Amazon today at a modest 38 percent discount (a couple bucks off, basically). — Will Price

Brightland Olive Oils
Save 15%You need better olive oil. Not for cooking — use the cheap stuff for that — but for everything else you use (or should be using) olive oil for. That is salad dressings and “finishing” dishes (drizzling over the top of most things you make), a common restaurant practice that is all too uncommon in the home.

Glugging a couple drops of olive oil over the top of a dish before serving is a dead simple way to raise the luxury profile of a meal. The reasons are simple and not needing much explanation: fat is a wonderful thing, good olive oil is a wonderful fat, it gives a subtle astringent bite to the food and, as a bonus, makes the dish look glossy. The joy of great olive oil is you don’t need much to make an impact, the trouble is buying good olive oil. Brightland makes good olive oil.

According to studies at UC Davis (as noted on Brightland’s site), most olive oil sold and imported from abroad is, in a word, bad. The reports indicate the majority of imported EVOO fails to meet USDA standards by way of rancidity, dilution with other oils, oxidation and various other flaws (UC Davis reported “negative sensory results were confirmed by chemical data in 86 percent of [olive oils tested]”).

These issues are not incredibly impactful on cooking oils — unless you’re working with very few or very subtle ingredients, the type of oil you use will likely not be apparent when eating. Brightland’s extra-virgin olive oils are housed in glassware that is protected from the sun and light, keeping them fresher for longer, harbor no fillers and are the product of young olive trees.

A set of two usually retails somewhere around $75, but are on sale on a modest 15 percent discount today on Huckberry. — Will Price

Woolrich John Rich and Bros. Outerwear
Save 30%: Woolrich John Rich and Bros. makes outerwear with a decidedly urban perspective. Though its namesake heritage brand was founded in Pennsylvania in 1830, John Rich and Bros. developed in Europe under the umbrella of Italian fashion company WP Lavori starting in 1982. The brand’s styles were more continental and its understated outerwear featured sleeker silhouettes and modern fabrics. Though John Rich and Bros. has joined forces with its American counterpart in recent years, you can still pick up the distinct garments that defined the brand at a range of online retailers. Now at East Dane, you can save 30 percent on a few pieces of outerwear from Woolrich John Rich and Bros. Patagonia Apparel and Equipment
Save up to 50%: Patagonia’s reputation for producing some of the best outdoor apparel and equipment available goes without saying. That now-iconic label that depicts the Fitz Roy skyline — a lodestar for the company’s founder, Yvon Chouinard, who climbed the mountain in 1968 — is a mark that implies the company’s values: “Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm.” It’s also as well-recognized as any brand, even those from the fashion world.

But Patagonia couldn’t have earned its reputation if the items that it makes weren’t high quality, or if they didn’t push the boundaries of technical performance through innovative materials and designs. Some pieces, like its Synchilla Fleece, have done this for years. Others, like the ultralight Micro Puff Jacket, are brand new. These and much more of Patagonia’s catalog are handily on sale for as much as 50 percent off right now at Mountain Steals — just in time for the arrival of cooler weather. — Tanner Bowden

All-Clad Non-Stick Griddle
Save 20%: Non-stick cookware is oft misunderstood. No, it cannot be your do-it-all cookware for making any dish your heart desires. In fact, its uses are relatively restricted in comparison to its stainless steel or cast iron cousins, but it is by no means without use.

Apart from the recommended fish and egg dishes that most people associate with non-stick cookware, it’s equally excellent with dishes where the flipping of the food is a make-or-break moment — most notably, quesadillas (pancakes, too). A flipping failure in another cookware type will result in a tearing of the quesadilla which will only end in sadness. The process is simple: tortilla down, ingredients in, tortilla on top, flip when ready.

The only separate issue is a lack of space, as most non-stick skillets are significantly smaller than the average stainless steel alternative. That’s where this All-Clad non-stick griddle comes into play, every bit of its 11-inch-by-11-inch size cookable and primed for easy flipping. Today, that griddle is 20 percent off on Amazon — good for a savings of $10 and its lowest price ever. — Will Price

The brand is currently offering 25 percent off orders of $175 or more, and when you’re investing in a handful of quality pieces of clothing, that mark isn’t hard to hit.

Make your fall shopping count by doing it here, and walk away with more than you bargained for. — Andy Frakes

American-Made New Balance M997FGG Sneakers
Save 31%: In 1960, Massachusetts-based New Balance designed the world’s first ripple-sole running shoe. In the past half-century the brand has grown dramatically working with factories across the world to produce its iconic sneakers. While New Balance shoes produced overseas are affordable and plentiful, the brand’s flagship models are made in America.
The brand operates five shoe factories in the Northeast: three in Maine (Norridgewock, Skowhegan, and Norway), a plant in Boston and another in Lawrence, Massachusetts. While the footwear produced in these factories comes with a premium price tag, the product is well worth it. One of the brand’s iconic styles, the M977, is a prime example. At the factory, the shoe is crafted in just 22 minutes on an assembly line that is made up of around 40 stations. It features pigskin suede uppers, an Encap midsole and a durable rubber outsole.
Now at End, you can save 31 percent on the M977 in an olive drab colorway. Available in sizes 7 to 11, it now costs just $179 — not a bad price to pay for an American-made sneaker. — John Zientek

Toddy Cold Brew Coffee Maker
Save 40%: In writing a story on how to make cold brew coffee, Edward O’Hickey of specialty coffee roaster Toby’s Estate told me you could make great cold brew coffee pretty much anywhere, including a bucket.

Cold brew is an alarmingly simple and economical form of brewing. All you’re doing is grinding beans (the difference between freshly ground, freshly roasted beans and pre-ground stuff is enormous) at home or in your grocery store’s very expensive grinder, letting the grounds bathe in water for a day or so and straining the mix to remove silt or tiny coffee solids. There’s not much weighing, measuring or timing hassle involved and, according to O’Hickey, “[is] probably the easiest brew method to perfect.”

This Toddy system, which O’Hickey recommends (and I use myself), keeps it as simple as it should be; it comes with what amounts to a bucket with a hole punched in the bottom, a filter to strain the cold brew and a glass container to store it in the fridge post-brewing. The filters can be used, washed and re-used as many times as you’re comfortable with. The result of this home cold brew process is cold brew concentrate, so you’ll need to dilute it when you drink (O’Hickey recommends one-to-one with another liquid, like water or milk).

It’s also the most hands-off path to a very good cup of coffee before work and on lazy weekend mornings possible — after it’s brewed you literally just pour it over ice, add water or milk and drink. And because the Toddy system is quite a bit bigger than most cold brew contraptions, you can make enough to keep you caffeinated a couple times a day for a couple weeks.

Toddy’s system does not go on sale often, but today it’s 40 percent off on Amazon. — Will Price

Save 30%: Fall is a season that calls for its own wardrobe. And while the whole lumbersexual trend may have come and gone flannels will always endure as autumn’s most functional layer. No, you don’t need to grow a beard, carry an axe or represent a paper towel company to appreciate an ultra-soft, midweight button down in a tasteful tartan pattern. Uniqlo’s, made of 100 percent cotton, are only $20 each right now. The equinox already passed but it isn’t too late to stock up, craft a canoe by hand and head to the nearest log cabin. — Tanner Bowden

Italian-Made Wayfarers
Save 60%: For anyone wanting a slight update to one of the most iconic eyewear designs in history, these shades from Ray-Ban are more than a good deal. There are a lot of sunglass companies out there trying to throw shade, and a lot of them have offerings in the same price range, but few approach the quality and icon-status of real Wayfarers. That’s why, many decades after they first hit the market, the classic design is still everywhere you look.

This specific model features nylon frames rather than acetate, lending to a more lightweight and flexible feel when worn, plus a slightly more rounded profile than the original Wayfarer design. These qualities lend to a modern look that’s right at home with any style under the sun — and if you’re under the sun, you’ll want these on your face. — Andy Frakes

Vuori Sale
Save 15% The Sunday transit joggers are my ideal sweatpant. In true Vuori form, these sweats are so much more than a sleek pant to pull on when you finally trash your old college sweats. Founder Joe Kudla named the company after the Finnish word for mountain, and you’d be hardpressed to find a piece that won’t perform as well as look great on the side of any high peak. These joggers are simultaneously stylish for running errands, high-performing enough for workouts, yet still cozy for Monday night football. Pick up a pair today and you can save 15 percent. Pick up the corresponding zip hoodie or pullover, and stock up on workout shorts and shirts on Huckberry. — Meg Lappe

The Perfect Gray T-Shirt Is on Sale
Save 46% Like underwear, jeans and khakis, t-shirts are one of those items that are so so widely available that it can be a little overwhelming to choose just one. Luckily, a great option from Alternative Apparel that normally retails for $24 is just $13 right now.— Justin Fenner

Patagonia Rain Jacket Sale
Save $70 When it rains, you have two defenses: a jacket and an umbrella. No matter where you fall on the spectrum of hating or loving umbrellas, we can all agree that a hard-working rain jacketis imperative during this time of year. It’s pretty much the only way to stay relatively dry while you’re commuting, heading out to meet friends or even hiking. The Patagonia stretch rainshadow jacket does all that, and more.

The pullover style coat features a three-quarter zipper with a kangaroo pouch for storage directly underneath. Two and a half layers make up the breathable nylon shell, so you don’t have to dread those humid rainy days — and when you do get hot, zip open the venting found in the armpits. When the clouds disappear, stuff the jacket into its chest pocket and attach to your bag with a carabiner. It’s easy to carry and pack for any upcoming excursions. Right now it’s $71 off its original price in two rich blue colors. — Meg Lappe

Italian-Made Saint Laurent Sunglasses
Save up to 67%: Dominated by the same aviator- and Wayfarer-inspired designs, the sunglasses market can seem a bit uninspired at times. If you’ve been yearning for a frame that breaks from the status quo, consider a style from Saint Laurent. The Parisian fashion house offers a range of distinct sunglasses, all crafted in Italy. From a combination acetate-metal round style to a chunky Havana-acetate square silhouette, these well-made shades are anything but bland. And now at Nordstrom Rack, some of these sunglasses are up to 67 percent off while supplies last — that’s savings of $245. — John Zientek

Bean Boot Sale
Save 20% If you grew up anywhere in the Northeast, you can likely list off a variety of friends and family members that don L.L. Bean’s bean boot as soon as the weather changes. My family swears by this iconic boot for thunderstorms, rainy Columbus Day work weekends (got to get the house ready for winter!), and further down the line, tree cutting. A pair of Bean Boots has been in practically every family Christmas card since 1991. The Bean Boot is a classic for a reason — it prevents that wet feet-feeling thanks to an impressive rubber bottom and an instantly recognizable leather upper. If you’re a hunter, these boots will do the trick. Over the years, not much has changed besides the variety of colored leather options (dark or light, and sometimes grey), and the interior lining of Thinsulate or without. Pick from a boat shoe, 6-inch, 8-inch, or something a bit more Chelsea-boot inspired. The L.L. Bean Boot world is your oyster.
