Man Crashes Ferrari into Ocean Because Jesus Told Him To

A month ago, pictures and video emerged of a strange incident involving a police officer, a Ferrari and a dock. In the video, a man can be seen speaking to a police officer before getting into his Ferrari 360 Modena and accelerating into the water, off a dock – apparently for no reason.

More details of the bizarre incident emerged recently as a police report was filed. It is not clear whether the driver, James A. Mucciaccio Jr, will be charged with anything in connection with the incident. The facts certainly suggest that Mucciaccio might either have been under the influence or suffering from some form of mental illness. You would have to be to drive a Ferrari 360 Modena off a dock for seemingly no reason.

When asked why he did it, Mucciaccio stated that: “Jesus told me to drive through a small gate and into a 6 foot window. Jesus made me the smartest man on Earth and it’s so hard to have this responsibility. Money is going to be irrelevant in two days, remember to smile.” He told the fisherman who rescued him from the water that he drove into the water because the “dock was Egyptian and he did not believe in Jesus.”

The officer was called to the scene of the incident after a bicyclist reported that a dark-colored Ferrari was speeding down North Ocean Boulevard. Explaining this, Mucciaccio is reported to have told the fisherman that “he was in a high-speed chase with Highland police and they let him go because he was Christian.”

Shark Tank Judge Wrecks His LaFerrari in Beverly Hills

It seems that last weekend was not a good weekend for Robert Herjavec. The Shark Tank star was allegedly driving around Beverley Hills early on Saturday morning when it appears that he lost control of the hypercar. The photo below was posted by the Beverley Hills Police department who attended the scene.

According to witnesses, Herjavec was driving the LaFerrari when the accident happened. The hypercar was being driven in excess of the speed limit when it hit a tree at the side of the road. It has been reported that the driver’s passenger was ejected from the car as she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

Contradicting the above account, Beverley Hills police department confirmed on their instagram account that there were no injuries. Surely if someone was ejected through from the window of a LaFerrari during a high speed crash, they would have suffered at least some injury?

The damage to the front end of the hypercar looks fairly extensive. The front left wheel looks to have been ripped from its arch. The entire front bumper is also destroyed. Key to the assessment of whether the car is a complete loss will be finding out whether the carbon tub has remained intact.

McLaren Senna Crashes in Munich Shortly After Delivery

All of the downforce in the world would not have stopped this brand new McLaren Senna from crashing into a wall in Munich. The supercar looks to have been delivered on Saturday this week if a Facebook post made by McLaren Munich on Saturday is to be believed. The accident happened on Saturday, hours after deliver, in the Munich suburb of Grünwald.

The photos show the scene of the accident. Judging by the tyre marks left on the tarmac, it looks likely that the drive lost control of the rear end. The front seems to have buried itself in a wall although the extent of the damage is not known.

The driver of the car was said to be a 43 year old businessman from Grünwald. The car was said to have sent a signal to the dealership who were on hand within minutes to recover the car. It had less than 100 kilometres on the clock at the time of the accident, however, the damage is not thought to be severe enough to cause a write-off.

The McLaren Senna is a limited edition Ultimate Series McLaren. Just 500 will be produced and McLaren is currently working on delivering the production run to its customers. While it’s 800 hp twin-turbocharged V8 is impressive, it is in the handling department where the car really excels.

The Senna produces a staggering 800 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, making it a potent tool for the track. We drove it recently, read our review of the McLaren Senna by clicking the link. Rear the official details of the McLaren Senna by clicking through.

Koenigsegg Agera RS Gryphon Crashes for a Second Time

Reports circulated in Swedish media yesterday that one of the 25 Koenigsegg Agera RS’ had crashed while testing on a road outside Trollhättan, Sweden. Photos seem to show a Koenigsegg finely balanced on the grass verge of a road. The car in question is hard to make out, yet a few Koenigsegg aficionados seem to have identified the wrecked hypercar as the Koenigsegg Agera RS Gryphon.

We know the Gryphon quite well. We saw it first at the Geneva Motor Show 2017. It was designated for famous US collector Manny Khoshbin at that time and featured a wealth of custom features, making it one of the most expensive Koenigsegg’s of all time.

Koenigsegg Agera RS Gryphon Crashed

Soon after the Geneva Motor Show, while Koesnigsegg were carrying out shakedown tests of the car, it was crashed into a ditch. Khoshbin was subsequently offered a new chassis to replace the crashed vehicle. The replacement, recently delivered and the last of the Agera RS production run, was named the Koenigsegg Agera RS Phoenix. It is understood that the Gryphon was to serve as Koenigsegg’s test mule.

The photos show that damage to the underside of the car is likely to be extensive. The exterior looks to be relatively in tact. Photos show that the Gryphon was likely running without a rear wing at the time. We understand that there were no reported injuries to the driver or passenger.

The accident happened near NEVS’ facility in Trollhättan. NEVS are the company that acquired the assets to Saab when it went bankrupt in 2012. It develops electric vehicles at the moment which begs the question, was it purely coincidence that an Agera RS test mule was operating near their test facilities? Is this an early mule for the next iteration of the CC/Agera platform?

The accident happened on a public road, Flygfältsvägen, very close to the NEVS facility.

Lady Driver Walks Away from Horrific McLaren 720S Crash in Las Vegas

As far as horrific accidents go, this McLaren 720S wreck which happened this weekend during the Corsa Rally 2018 has to be high up there. The event took place just outside Las Vegas in the Mohave Desert. The driver of the McLaren reportedly walked away from the accident, the carbon fibre crash cell protecting her from injury. The car was less fortunate.

The photos show a car that has evidently rolled a number of times, crushing the passenger side A-Pillar and causing a small engine fire which looks to have been smothered quickly. The wreckage makes the 720S look completely unrecognisable, save for those tell-tale doors.

The driver took to the forums to explain that she misjudged a corner and lost control of the car. She reckons it rolled twice causing her passenger very minor injuries and her, some broken ribs. She makes the point that the car’s final act was to prove just how safe it was. The strength of the carbon fibre cell evidently superior to that of a normal steel construction example.

It remains to be seen whether the owner will order a replacement car. We suspect she might having walked away from this horrifying accident with a minimal amount of injuries!

By way of reminder, the McLaren 720S features a 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 720 hp and 770 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. It manages a 100 km/h sprint in 7.8 seconds with 300 km/h in 21.4 seconds and a top speed of 341 km/h.
