Today in Gear: Pants Made from Lululemon’s New Fabric, How Patagonia Wants to Save Our Planet & More

This Pant Is as Versatile as It Is Stylish

What if there was a pant that is as comfortable as it is durable? And what if we told you it offered four-way stretch, a streamlined fit and a dollop of abrasion resistance? Such a pant exists — the lululemon Bowline Utilitech 30″ pant. Whether you’re headed out to the farmers market, working from home or exploring your backyard, the Bowline Utilitech 30″ can handle it all. It makes use of a brand new material from lululemon called Utiliech. It was developed specifically to be abrasion-resistant, keep the comfort of four-way stretch and still feel natural to the touch. On the comfort front, the Bowline Utilitech 30″ makes use of lululemon’s ABC tech and a streamlined fit, which allows for a broad range of motion and plenty of room for varied body sizes. If you’re looking for a go-to pant to refresh your wardrobe this fall, look no further.

Today in Gear: AETHER’s Launch Jacket, the Ultimate Racing Sim Setup & More

AETHER’s Launch Jacket Will Quickly Become Your Winter Go-To

The first thing you should know about puffy jackets is that not all puffy jackets are created equal. Never has this been more apparent than with AETHER’s Launch Jacket. Unlike traditional puffys, where the baffles are stitched into the fabric (putting tiny holes in the shell and the liner), the Launch Jacket makes use of pre-baffled fabric that comes knitted that way from the mill. This eliminates cold spots created by drafts through the tiny stitch holes and also prevents goose down feathers from sneaking out of the jacket. Further adding to the Launch’s technical chops are the 800-fill-power down and a healthy dose of stretch provided by the 84 percent nylon, 16 percent spandex construction. But what’s better yet is that AETHER offers a lifetime manufacturing guarantee on the jacket — get ready for the Launch to quickly become your winter go-to.

Amazon Prime Day 2020: Your Guide to the Best Deals

Don’t miss the deals: subscribe to our daily newsletter Today’s Best Deals and have them sent straight to your inbox.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Just like the holidays, the birthday you’re dreading and the Super Bowl, Amazon Prime Day comes merely once a year. Similar to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Prime Day is a chance to save tons of money on a plethora of great products.

There are so many deals that it’s tough for one person to sift through them all. Last year saw savings on everything from electronics to outdoor goods to home items and more. Amazon devices are the one thing that are almost always part of Prime Day savings. So bookmark this page and get ready to save.

When is Prime Day?

We don’t know yet. Prime Day has taken place in July since it began back in 2015, but 2020 has thrown a curveball at every norm, timeline and plan we’ve all had in place. For 2020, Amazon postponed its July Prime Day and has only confirmed that Prime Day will occur sometime within the fourth quarter of the year (October – December).

Last year for the first time, Prime Day occurred over two days. No word yet if that will also be the standard now or if it will move back to a traditional one day. Once details and dates are announced, we will have them all for you right here.

Do you have to be an Amazon Prime member?

This may seem obvious, but to take advantage of all the incredible Prime Day deals you must be an Amazon Prime member. A full-year membership costs $119. If you only plan on shopping discounts for Prime Day, it’s probably not worth it. But if you plan on utilizing the other Prime features (like year-round free two-day shipping, Prime Video, Prime Music, Whole Foods free delivery and more), then you’ll want to consider signing up. If you’re a student you can even get a discount on a Prime membership: Sign up for a six-month free trial plus 50 percent off of a yearly membership if you decide to buy.

4 Prime Day Tips

Have a plan

It can be overwhelming seeing so many sales happening all at once. So having a wishlist for what you are actually in the market for can be a key to not realizing you’ve spent way over your budget when the dust settles on Prime Day.

Set Up Price Alerts

Price alerts can help you sift through the mind-numbing amount of sales that Amazon churns out for Prime Day. Using a website like CamelCamelCamel is a free and simple to way import your Amazon wishlist and get notifications when your items go below the price alert you’ve set. Making price alerts is one of the best ways to plan in advance for Prime Day.

Check Other Retailers

There will be other deals to be had across the web during Prime Day. Last year, Target had its own Target Deal Days and that didn’t require any membership. Other big-box stores and online retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, eBay, Wayfair and more will likely offer up sometimes-better deals on the same day(s) as Prime Day.

Bookmark This Page

We’ll be sifting through thousands of deals all throughout Prime Day to deliver you the ones you won’t want to miss. Bookmark this page and keep checking back for updates and more information.

Today in Gear: Luminox’s Bear Grylls Watch, Over 90 Chairs Worth Buying & More

This New Watch from Bear Grylls and Luminox Is One You Can Feel Good About

It’s difficult to become a professional survivalist these days — most of us are mere amateurs… But Bear Grylls has been defying the natural world (and his own mortality) for years now, and if there are two things we can say about him it’s that he never gives up, and he has a vested interest in protecting the planet from the effects of global warming because his whole job is, you know, to survive on it. All this to say, it’s not exactly a surprise that the first watch from Luminox’s Bear Grylls Survival Eco Series is pretty damn indestructible. The Bear Grylls Survival Eco Series watch has a case, bezel and strap made from 100 percent recycled ocean plastic, so if un-destructible was a word, it’d be that too — at least as far as the planet is concerned. Click the link below to find out more.

Today in Gear: Blundstone’s Leather Dress Boot, Ford’s Tough Off-Road Ranger & More

Blundstone’s Leather Dress Boot Is a Perfect Fall Style Statement

Mentally, we’re all still back in February, whereas physically we’re still sweating like it’s mid-July and logically expected to believe it’s somehow September. It’s unclear at this point whether seasons still exist, but if they do we’re getting excited for football, foliage hikes and crispy fall weather. Plus, now that Labor Day has come and gone, it’s time to pack up the white sneakers and break out the autumn boots. If you need a recommendation, Blundstone’s 1901 Leather Dress Boot is the go-to for fall footwear. Its lean profile and sleek leather upper is built to blend in on a night out, while comfort footbeds and durable TPU outsoles mean you can spend all day in them first and your feet won’t get tired.

Today in Gear: A Ridiculously Luxurious Lexus Convertible, Smart Speaker Settings to Change & More

The New Lexus LC Convertible is The Pinnacle of Luxury

Any time a movie includes a shot of someone driving a convertible, it always looks like that particular scene was filmed in some alternate universe without wind resistance. It’ll be a high speed chase with the top down and yet the driver’s hair is motionless — whereas every time you so much as crack a window you feel like you’re standing inside a jet turbine. If that’s the case, then the all new 2021 Lexus LC convertible must have come from that same universe, because even as you press the accelerator and hear the notes from the V8 engine fill the cabin, the wind is engineered away by the wind deflectors and windscreens. With that kind of attention to detail, it’s no surprise that the 2021 LC Convertible is built with real-time suspension damping, a strengthened chassis and overall lighter weight, making it without comparison or compromise.

Today in Gear: The Most Comfortable Mask Available, a $12 Tool to Save Your Couch & More

Mystery Ranch’s Street Mask Is a Beacon of Comfort

By now, you’ve learned that not all masks are created equal when it comes to comfort and materials — two things that Montana-based Mystery Ranch knows well. But when the brand went to craft masks for today’s new normal, it did so first to fill the needs of its local healthcare workers. Mystery Ranch manufactured and donated masks to healthcare professionals at the Bozeman Hospital. It then tweaked and refined the designs to launch on its website and offer to consumers. One of the designs is the Street Mask, which features a 3D-contoured design paired with an adjustable nose bridge piece and stretch TPU headband. It also offers a seamless construction and a liner comprised of a tight cell structure material. Top it off with the Mystery Ranch Spinner logo and Black, Forest, Navy and Tan colorways — what’s not to like? Watch the video on how Mystery Ranch executed this initiative below.

Today in Gear: Bags Made from Recycled Ocean Waste, Why You Shouldn’t Go Wireless With Hi-Fi & More

Incase Is Turning One Man’s Trash Into Another Man’s Tech Accessories

The catch-22 of buying anything these days is that even the most environmentally conscious brands still require resources and energy to create products, and therefore generate waste. You can’t (or shouldn’t) buy a plastic water bottle without feeling at least a little bit guilty when the time comes to toss it. You can feel good about the new collaboration between Incase and BIONIC®, the raw materials company addressing ocean plastic pollution in marine and coastal environments. The collection features a backpack, an accessory organizer and compact sleeve, all of which are made from plastic waste recovered from our oceans. Plus right now, GP readers can score 20 percent off with code GP20.

Today in Gear: A Meticulously Designed Bag for the Everyday, New iPad Features & More

Flag Nor Fail Built Your New Everyday Bag

Photographers love to quip that the best camera is the one you have — gear nerds say the best bag is the one you use. Maybe it’s your “everyday bag,” your weekender or your go-to travel pack — maybe one bag works for all three. That’s certainly the case with Flag Nor Fail’s new Tour Pack. Meticulously designed for maximum use-ability, the Tour Pack is large enough to fit a couple of days worth of outfits, shoes and accessories, while remaining compact enough to fit under an airplane seat while traveling. Plus, with details like hideaway shoulder straps, the ability to carry it as either a backpack or a duffle, water-resistant zippers (with custom monogram pulls) and a modern, versatile aesthetic, this bag will be at home wherever you bring it — whether it’s across campus or across the country.
