Aether’s Central Anorak makes for a functional and modern take on the outerwear style. It’s made from 88 percent nylon and 12 percent spandex and features a stretch three-layer nylon shell with DWR finish. The Central Anorak also has weatherproof zippers at all entry points to ensure no moisture gets inside. Convenient chest and kangaroo pockets make this elevated layer highly functional. Add in the custom map-print interior and Aether has put together a stylish anorak to get you through the ups-and-downs of spring weather.

Jomers Button-Down Shirts
Save 48%:If you’ve been waiting for a great sale to invest in some new shirts, now’s the time to act. Jomers is currently offering a huge selection of button-down shirts for only $25. Pick from classic oxfords, checked shirts, Japanese flannels and more. Hell, you can pick up a handful of classic styles without breaking the bank. But if you see a style you like, don’t wait — these are priced to move. — John Zientek

Competitive Cyclist Windbreaker Sale
Save 55%: Right now, a variety of windbreaker jackets are on sale at Competitive Cyclist for up to 55 percent off. After a brief sighting of summer this past weekend (which made riding exquisite), we’re quickly back to mid-spring and the dregs of winter days, which means layering up on the bike is the key to staying warm. The blustery wind this week makes it feel much colder than the thermometer reads, meaning a wind-resistant jacket is necessary for rides. It traps warmth as well as helps you handle any head or tailwinds. We picked out a few of our favorite jackets below to help you get started, but there are many more on the site. — Meg Lappe

Red Wing Heritage Boots
Save 36%: When you’re presented with the chance to save on Red Wing Heritage boots, you’d be foolish to pass it up. The brand’s boots are rarely on sale and when they are, sizes are often limited. But now at Nordstrom Rack, you can save 36 percent on a pair of classic Red Wing Heritage Moc-Toe boots available in sizes 7 to 13. This American-made style features Brown Boomer leather from the S.B. Foot Tanning Company in Minnesota and a non-marking outsole. What are you waiting for? — John Zientek

Rhone Celliant Tee
Save 31%: We should all ask more of our t-shirts. It’s no longer enough that they fit us well, that they’re not only comfortable while relaxing at home but also an hour into a workout. Now, they have to help us shed sweat, control odor and keep us cool or warm depending on the temperature. Some work beyond even that, like Rhone’s Celliant Tee, which is currently on sale at Huckberry for 31 percent off.

According to Rhone, the Celliant Tee increases athletes’ blood flow and aids in effective oxygen use. It does that with one key ingredient that’s right in its name: Celliant. Celliant has been implemented in a wide range of products that includes sheets and ski boots as, according to the company that produces it, “a proprietary mineral matrix that can be embedded into the core of a yarn.” There, it works to recycle the heat emitted by your body as infrared light to provide more energy and as a result aid in muscle performance and recovery.

We’re not sure whether Celliant’s claims are true or not. Even if they aren’t, Rhone’s athletic t-shirt looks good, is plenty comfy during exercise and offers a host of benefits before managing blood flow. Maybe, in the end, that’s enough for a t-shirt (plus that nice discount). — Tanner Bowden

Today in Gear: Felix Gray’s Blue Light-Filtering Glasses, Testing Spatulas with Alex Honnold & More

Today in Gear is our daily roundup of all the latest product announcements, drops and deals. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at tig@gearpatrol.com.

If you’re anything like the average American adult, you probably spend at least eight hours a day staring at screens that constantly emit blue light. Blue light can have unpleasant side effects: eye strain, headaches, blurry vision, sleep cycle disruption, eye fatigue and even long-term consequences from prolonged exposure. Felix Gray has designed some of the highest quality blue light-filtering glasses out there to help keep your peepers happy, healthy and productive.

Felix Gray’s proprietary blue light-filtering technology is derived from a naturally occurring ocular pigment to protect against digital eye strain without distorting color — 93 percent of Felix Gray customers report an improvement in their digital eye strain symptoms. The lenses are housed in beautiful, handcrafted Italian acetate and German metals for the perfect blend of fashion and function. Available in both prescription and non-prescription, styles like the Roebling and Nash are some of our favorites to keep your eyes safe and you looking good.

Todd Snyder X Timex Blackjack Watch
Save 28%: Todd Snyder’s access to the Timex archives has resulted in all sorts of cool collaborations over the past few years, but the updated versions of the once-obscure “Sprite” models from the 1970s have proven so be some of our favorites. We were enthusiastic about the “Blackjack” watch when it first debuted, but in case you need a refresher, this is a sleek, automotive-inspired timepiece with cool “roulette wheel” dial done up in black and white, a black-finished case, 50m of water resistance, a quartz movement and a black Nato strap. The watch generally retails for only $138, but right now, you can nab it for just $99 — Oren Hartov

P.F. Flyers Sneakers
Save up to 64%:Today P.F. Flyers has marked down nearly 20 styles in a last call sale. Sizes are limited, but given the broad range of options, there is a good chance you can find something to your liking to wear into spring.

Whether you’re partial to low or high-top lace-ups, slip-ons or even shoes with velcro closures (why not?), you can find something here. Mark-downs on sneakers from the classic Boston-based brand range from just $10 to $70, making the already reasonably priced canvas sneakers all the more attractive. This sale isn’t likely to go on for long though, so it’ll pay to act quickly. — John Zientek

Drake’s Ties
Save up to 39%:There’s no reason you shouldn’t have a range of well-made ties. Having a few great options will serve you well either at work (if your office has a professional dress code) or at upcoming summer weddings.

If you’re looking for a quality tie at a bargain price, head over to Todd Snyder: you can currently save up to 39 percent on some of the best ties available. Made in the U.K. by Drake’s, the ties are cut from wool, cashmere, linen and silk, and come in range of colors and textures. Act fast if you see something you like — a deal like this won’t last long. — John Zientek

Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar
Save $200: The Bose SoundTouch 300 is an excellent soundbar that will work well with any of the latest 4K TVs. It supports Alexa as well. When it was released in 2017, Bose was selling the SoundTouch 300 for $699 — but being two-years-old, Amazon has dropped its price to $499. It’s a pretty solid deal, especially considering the soundbar is very similar in price, size and capabilities to the Sonos Playbar ($699); actually, according to CNET‘s Ty Pendlebury, the SoundTouch 300 has the Playbar beat “in terms of both sound stage and ‘you are there’ detail.”

CAP Dumbbell Sale
Save 23%: CAP makes some of the best dumbbells available, and you can pick up a pair of 20- or 25-pounders for up to 23 percent off. Weights are requisite home gym gear and necessary for strength-based at-home workouts. And these durable CAP rubber coated dumbbell weights are ideal for a variety of exercises. While you can do most fitness moves with just your bodyweight, adding a pair of dumbbells ups the intensity level leading to the results you want.

The rubber ends mean they won’t rust, and the hex-shaped design makes it easy to hold a plank and row. Right now, you can pick up a couple of 25-pounders for $13 off or 20-pounders for $16.70 off. Buy a pair, then start pumping out overhead presses, dumbbells squats and AMRAP (as many reps as possible) bicep curls. — Meg Lappe

Some of the Best Workout Shorts Available Are on Sale
Save 30%: A crucial aspect of any workout is comfort, not just in how you feel but what you’re wearing. It’s a fact that makes an outwardly simple piece of clothing like a pair of shorts all-important, and mundane details like pocket placement and waistband material (not to mention the debate over built-in liners) introduce a significant level of variability into the span what’s available. Today, a dedicated group of brands is addressing workout shorts — for the gym, for running, for yoga and more — in creative (and comfortable) ways. Many of our favorite models, and those preferred by professional trainers, from Ten Thousand, Rhone, Wolaco and more are currently on sale at Huckberry for 30 percent off. — Tanner Bowden

Baratza Virtuoso Burr Coffee Grinder
Save $40: The best coffee grinders in the world are big, heavy and industrial, like the Mahlkonig EK43. But unless you’re ready to fork over a couple of Gs and half the real estate of your kitchen counter, you’re better off going with a Baratza Virtuoso — on sale today for the lowest price we’ve ever seen. — Jack Seemer

Lodge 12-Inch Cast Iron Skillet
Save $17: Good news: Lodge’s 12-inch skillet is marked down to just $25 at Amazon. Its 10 inches of cooking space (the 12-inch designation refers to a wall-to-wall measurement, not cooking space) is the ideal size for most stovetop burners — any bigger and heat distribution issues are exacerbated, any smaller and you can’t cook a whole lot. Plus, unlike Lodge’s behemoth 13- and 15-inch pans, the 12-inch will actually fit in a kitchen cabinet. — Will Price

These Were the 10 Most Popular Products on Gear Patrol in March

Spring is finally here. Gear Patrol readers are taking notice by upgrading their outdoor gear, adding cast-iron cookware to their kitchen lineups, freshening up their warm-weather wardrobes and upgrading their coffee choices as well as the coffee makers they use to brew at home.

To round things out, we’ve put together a list of the 10 most popular products we covered in March. Read the full list below.

Bell Motorcycle Helmets

“The vintage-styled, dirt-focused MX-9 is currently 19 percent off. But the biggest savings are on the Bell Star line – you can look forward to saving $300 and still get a top-notch lid.” — Bryan Campbell

Urnex Dezcal Coffee Cleaner

“‘I’ve used [Urnex’s] food-safe cleaners in every shop I’ve ever worked in,” says Erika Vonie, Director of Coffee at Trade. “They don’t leave a residue or impart flavor when used correctly and leave your equipment factory-clean when all is said and done.’” — Will Price

Huckleberry Coffee

Huckleberry Roastery recently took home first place from the U.S. Roaster Championship. “Based in Denver, Colorado, Huckleberry Roasters has grown from a garage roaster to a global micro-farm sourcing powerhouse. Huckleberry offers plenty of single origins, blends and decaf options at varying roast levels — in other words, it doesn’t discriminate against your taste in coffee.” — Will Price

Lodge Cast-Iron Skillet Scraper

“Every person who has ever bought a cast-iron skillet, used it once, then stowed it under the countertop for the rest of time does so for one reason: it’s annoying as hell to maintain. You can’t scrape it up with metal utensils or paper towels, so what do you do? You buy Lodge’s stupid-simple $3 plastic scrapers.” — Will Price

Lodge 12″ Cast-Iron Skillet

“Good news: Lodge’s 12-inch skillet is marked down to just $25 at Amazon. More good news: the 12-inch is the perfect start to a new cast iron collection. As with all Lodge pans, the 12-inch comes pre-seasoned and ready to cook out of the box (we recommend starting with bacon).” — Will Price

Foehn Brise Pant

“We have a lot of nice things to say about Foehn. Whether it be their Brise pant or their hoodie we reviewed as a part of our best down jackets of 2019 rundown, our writers have been impressed with Foehn’s ability to balance style with functionality.” — J.D. DiGiovanni

Everlane Performance Chino

“Designing outside-of-the-gym clothing to perform like athletic apparel is far from a new idea. Instead, what makes these chinos from Everlane remarkable is that they don’t look like running tights masquerading as the kind of pants you’d wear to the office.” — J.D. DiGiovanni

Technivorm Moccamaster

“Launched in 1969, the Moccamaster became the first coffee maker ever approved by the Specialty Coffee Association’s rigorous home brewer program. It’s easy as hell to use and still has a sleek ’60s aesthetic.” — Will Price

Arc’teryx Atom SL Jacket

“Arc’teryx specializes in a high-performing and good-looking city to mountain gear — making it a favorite brand around the GP offices.” — Meg Lappe

“A pair of handmade hiking boots can cost as much as $750, but right now there’s a pair made by a small Italian brand called Naglev available for $173, which is 25 percent off its regular price of $230. Before you discount that as small change, know that the shoe, called the Unico Hiker, is unlike any other hiking shoe available (it’s also on our list of the best hiking boots available).” — Tanner Bowden

Wolf Viceroy Watch Winder
Save $319: While you don’t per se need a watch winder, its a nice accessory to have if you own multiple automatic watches. The problem is that even winders on the more affordable end of the spectrum can cost a surprisingly large amount of money, which is why it’s always nice to see a Wolf winder on sale. The winder’s MSRP is $499, but right now you can get it for just $180. — Zen Love

Reebok 50% Off Sale
Save 50%: Today, you can pick up a pair of Reebok’s best-selling CrossFit Nano 8 gym shoe and the Floatride Run — both on sale for over $70 off. Each sneaker is just a tad over $50, which is a steal for a sneaker that’s a winner in our Best Gym Sneakers guide. While the Nano sneakers are built for CrossFit, they make great gym sneakers, whether you prefer lifting weights and using machines over rope climbs and handstand pushups.

The best news of all is that Reebok’s massive spring sale doesn’t just include sneakers, it’s not just sneakers — you can take an additional 50 percent off all sale items including apparel and Classics. Be sure to use code EXTRA50 at checkout. — Meg Lappe

Mystery Ranch Backpacks
Save up to 39%: Mystery Ranch may be better known for the heavy-duty packs worn by members of the military and backcountry firefighters, but the lightweight In and Out, which is currently 18 percent off at Huckberry, meets our expectations of the company, if for different reasons.

The In and Out is collapsible, folding into itself to become the size of a small pillow (and you might use it as such on a long flight or bus ride). But, unlike many other minimalist travel backpacks, it remains full-featured with 100-denier Cordura fabric, an aerospace mesh back panel and pockets to accommodate everything from a water bottle to an ice axe. For these reasons, it’s our pick for the best minimalist daypack for hiking, but it’ll serve travelers who prefer city sidewalks to trails just as well.

Other great Mystery Ranch bags are also on sale at Huckberry, including the 21-liter Urban Assault everyday backpack and the travel-oriented Mission Duffel, both for 39 percent off. — Tanner Bowden

Repro Military Sneakers from Various Countries
Save 20%:If you’re looking for a new pair of sneakers for spring and don’t want the ubiquitous styles offered at big-box stores, consider picking up a military trainer. Seiko’s Prospex Collection has evolved over the years beyond its roots as solely professional diving instruments but has stayed focused on durable everyday sport watches. The Prospex Steet Series released at the end of last year is no different, offering the signature Prospex toughness with a mix of bold color.

The monochrome blue, green, and gray color options stand out on the wrist while featuring the details of the Prospex line: matching silicone straps, solar-powered movements, bright luminescent on the dials, unidirectional rotating bezels, and 47mm lightweight cases that are water-resistant down to 200m. Utilizing the signature “Tuna Can” case style, the three Prospex Street Series timepieces take the fabled dive watch design to new places with a comfortable and eye-catching wear.

Today in Gear: Leather Accessories from Bull & Stash, Affordable Pappy Van Winkle Alternatives & More

Today in Gear is our daily roundup of all the latest product announcements, drops and deals. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at tig@gearpatrol.com.

A well-built leather portfolio is a must-have for any professional on the go. Bull & Stash has devoted itself to creating better stationary accoutrements in a smart, innovative way. While anyone can make an ordinary leather portfolio, the Allison Slim Portfolio perfectly balances craftsmanship and superior design.

Bull & Stash utilizes the unique Expedition Leather that is tanned in León, Mexico. Unlike the orthodox European standards, León’s leather process is so distinct that Expedition Leather is unlike much else. It’s tumbled and infused with oils to give it a rich, creamy feel that only gets better over time — the leather’s color and finish burnish with wear to build character as it ages. Combined with details like stainless steel hardware, thick 105 GSM (grams per square meter) refillable paper and a magnetic closure, this portfolio is built for a lifetime of daily use.

GSI Outdoors JavaPress

PEdALED was born out of a love for urban cycling through the streets of Tokyo, meaning its founders know exactly what stylish-yet-versatile cycling clothes demand. Today in Gear: Life After Denim’s Spring Wardrobe Essentials, a Stunning Meteorite-Dial Rolex GMT & More

Today in Gear is our daily roundup of all the latest product announcements, drops and deals. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at tig@gearpatrol.com.

Long, bitter months of waiting for winter to end have finally brought us to the light at the end of the tunnel. And with spring’s warm welcome, you’re going to need clothing made for warmer months, like the lightweight, short-sleeve button ups.

Life After Denim makes plenty of winners in this category, and the Taronga is a major standout. The subtle microprint adds just enough visual interest without being loud or overbearing. It’s made from cotton poplin and has a classic collar that stands up but isn’t fully structured like a dress shirt. The versatility of the short sleeve button up is where the Taronga thrives: Wear it with pants, shorts, under a blazer or layered under a light sweater all season long.

Jabra Elite 65t True Wireless Earbuds
Save $40: The Jabra Elite 65t is one of the best true wireless earbuds you can buy right now. They sound great, fit snug, and, with a four-mic array, they’re better for taking calls than most alternative true wireless earbuds; for more information, you can read our full review of the Jabra Elite 65t, here. Best Buy is currently selling them for $150, but you can get the same earbuds, albeit manufacturer refurbished, on eBay for $110, which is still a good deal (despite not being nearly as good). You’re saving $40.

Breville Barista Express
Save $120: To the frustration of many would-be espresso nerds, getting into espresso is no easy task. And by no easy task, we mean it’s expensive as hell. At a bare minimum, you need a decent espresso maker, a scale and a high-end burr grinder. That’s why all-in-one espresso makers equipped with scales and grinders represent the best value in espresso makers. And one of those machines, Breville’s Barista Express, is on sale today.

The usually $600 machine looks confusing but isn’t — turn the power on, choose single or double, press the corresponding brew button (denoted by symbols of one and two cups of coffee) and espresso is made in under a minute. Plus, Breville’s steam wand makes lush, foamy milk without any requisite skill or know-how. Get one for $120 off today at Amazon. —Will Price

Extra Savings On Already-Discounted Items
Save 46% Today J.Crew has marked down its classic striped anorak by 46 percent, making the already attractive casual spring layer that much harder to pass up.

The cotton layer features button cuffs, a zippered neck, and front pocket as well as drawstrings at the hood and waist. All of this comes together to make the loose-wearing casual layer an ideal pick for the slow but steady transition from winter to spring. And today, thanks to the Sale on Sale event at J.Crew, buyers can get the jacket for half the already steeply discounted price. —J.D. DiGiovanni

The best way to stay comfortable during extensive travel is wearing clothing that’s as comfortable in motion as it is when you’re sitting still. The designers at Roark Revival knows journeys to far-off lands better than most, and they created the Layover Collection for just this reason.

The Layover Collection consists of Stretch Travel Pants and Stretch Travel Shorts, to suit any climate you’re heading to. Both implement a drawstring closure waistband with a zipper fly so you don’t have to take off a belt at the airport. A front extended long zip pocket with an internal stash sleeve can accommodate all your travel documents. And a back yoke vented mesh panel adds the perfect amount of breathability and comfort to tackle any travel demands.

The Best Stuff Our Staff Has Bought For Under $25

Earlier this week we asked a simple question: what is the best thing you’ve ever bought for under $25. The responses, both in terms of quality and number, have been inspiring. So much so that we decided to have some of our staffers chime in with their answers to the same question. Scroll through and see for yourself what you can get for less than a Jackson and a Lincoln.

Mobius + Ruppert Pencil Sharpener

It’s a reminder that it’s possible to make a great thing for not a lot of money. The M+R sharpener is heavy — all brass and steel — and does not feel like it’s falling apart any time soon. It also serves as a reminder to slow down during the day, even if it’s just taking 30 seconds to whittle at a pencil. — Will Price, Staff Writer

The original MSRP was $20, but in the resale market, these things go from $130 to $250. That doesn’t matter though, I’ll never sell it! — Hunter D. Kelley, Associate Designer

Rhodia Top Wirebound Notepad

This notebook is a blank canvas, yet has two essential elements of a truly great workweek planner: a dot-grid interior (which allows the ability to organize days into grids by drawing my own lines), and a spiral binding (no propping pages open with a heavy object).– Caitlyn Shaw, Consumer Marketing Manager

Kershaw Leek Sale
Save 54%: Kershaw’s Leek pocket knife is unremarkable at first glance. It’s slim, with a three-inch, drop-point blade and a thumb stud for opening, like many everyday task-oriented blades. But not all knives are flash and flourish, and the unsuspecting Leek is innovative, iconic even, for the mechanism inside of it.

That small bit of machinery is called SpeedSafe, and it was developed by Ken Onion, a former US Marine and an industry-renowned knife designer who has created more than 30 patents for blade technologies. SpeedSafe was his remedy for restrictive laws against switchblades; it’s a fast and smooth mechanism that springs to life partway through the action of opening the blade (think of it as semi-automatic). If this sounds familiar, that’s because even though Onion designed the tech for Kershaw, many other companies have since adopted similar variations.

The Leek is great because it’s so simple, and if you’re in need of a solidly-reliable pocket knife for everyday use it’s a good option. Right now you can get a Leek with carbon fiber handles for 54 percent off at Massdrop.

Wilfa Coffee Brewer
Save $30: Norwegian designed Wilfa coffee makers are quick to brew, heat with precision and come with a few smart, convenient features. They’re also just gorgeous.

Released in 2017, the WSP-1A features simple flow control, a hot plate, detachable water reservoir (something that should be standard in every coffee maker) and owns both a Red Dot Design Award and iF World Design Guide award. Today, the brewer is marked down to $140 on Ebay — the lowest price we’ve seen for this model, and a far cry from the $400 retail price it launched with a couple of years back. —Will Price

Peet Original Boot Dryer
Save 20%: If you want your boots to last for years, proper care and maintenance are crucial. Along with keeping them clean and oiled, you should make a point to fully dry them if they’re worn in damp conditions. While you could let them dry at room temperature, it’s actually better and faster to use a Peet dryer.

“If your boots are wet, we recommend using a boot dryer like a Peet shoe dryer or let them dry a room temperature,” said Eric Kinney, the vice president of operations at White’s Boots in Spokane, Washington. “We don’t recommend putting your boots on a heater vent. When leather starts to crack there is not much you can do except get it rebuilt.”

The Peet Original Boot Dryer silently dries and deodorizes footwear in three to eight hours and works effectively with a range of materials. The dryer channels slightly-warmed air through two chambers while using less electricity than a standard light bulb. What’s more, it has a staggering 25-year warranty.

Normally $50, this essential piece of gear is now 20 percent off at Amazon and costs just $40. So if you care about keeping your boots in prime condition, pick one of these up today. — John Zientek

Nike Sale
Save up to 40% Right now you can pick up a pair of Nike’s best running shoes, the Epic React Flyknit 2 and the Zoom Pegasus Turbo . Each pair is over 30 percent off in a few colors. Both are solid workhorse training shoes, weighing in at 8.4 ounces. For my last half marathon training block, I rotated running in both for speed workouts and long runs, and ran the entire 13.1 miles in the Pegasus Turbos. If you’re running a shorter distance, say 5K or 10K, the Epic React Flyknit 2 is a bouncy choice — you’ll feel like you’re flying through the miles.

Right now, on nike.com there’s a large number of sizes in a few colors for each shoe, but shop while you can as Nike’s gear tends to sell out quickly. If you don’t need a new pair of running shoes there are also a plethora of gym and everyday sneakers and apparel on sale for up to 40 percent off. — Meg Lappe
