Quick Take: Doxa has released a new limited edition of the Sub 200 in 130 pieces to mark the brand’s 130th anniversary, but it also announced a non-limited version that will be released later in the year. A more traditional dive watch look than what the brand is most known for, the Sub 200 will be carried by solid specs, vintage charm, and a competitive price. It would hardly be a Doxa diver without that pop of orange, and the cool beads-of-rice-style bracelet doesn’t hurt either.
Who It’s For: Modern Doxa’s lineup is heavily influenced by the popularity of its vintage pieces, often featuring unique designs. Further, many of these watches boast extreme water-resistance ratings. The new Doxa Sub 200 is very vintage-inspired, however, features a more traditional diver design and is water-resistant to only 200m — though this is more than sufficient for almost all diving applications. Well priced and on-trend, the Doxa Sub 200 is a strong offering for brand fans and dive watch enthusiasts in general.
Key Features: Doxa’s serious-diving-tool reputation lends some credibility to the Sub 200 with its relatively pared-down 200m of water-resistance. At 42mm wide in steel with a retro, “box-style” sapphire crystal, the Doxa Sub 200 is equipped with an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement that offers 38 hours of power reserve. Only 130 pieces will be made for the limited edition a $1,190 each, but the good news is that a non-limited edition is coming later in the year that will be priced even more affordably at $990.
