Watchmaker Chopard is celebrating 30 years of sponsoring the Mille Miglia road race in Italy with a quintet of colorful, limited edition chronographs. Each color is meant to represent a different country’s racing color: red for Italy, silver for Germany, green for Great Britain, blue for France and yellow for Belgium. Design-wise, they’re an excellent departure from more staid silver, black and white chronographs.

According to A Blog to Watch, the movement inside appears to be modified version of ETA’s 2894-2 automatic chronograph movement. That is housed in a 42mm stainless steel case that’s just over 12mm thick (pretty slim for an automatic chronograph). The watch comes affixed to a rally-style perforated calfskin strap.

This being a limited release, only 300 pieces of each will be made. Pricing has yet to be announced, but given the non-limited version of the same watch retails for $5,050, expect them to sell for a little more than that.
