Feast Your Eyes on This London Dealership’s Amazing Supercar Inventory

Perhaps the Best Collection of Supercars In London

As you might imagine, there’s a lot of money in London, and that translates to quite a few people owning amazing supercars. There are some dealers out there that buy and sell these cars, and Joe Macari is one of them. The dealer offers some of the best supercars available. In a recent YouTube video, the channel F1 YMS got to take some time and walk the dealership floors.

There are some truly beautiful cars in the video below. A few of them that catch our eyes are the green Ferrari LaFerrari, the two Ferrari Enzos—one of which features a bare carbon fiber body—two Ferrari F50s, two Ferrari 599 GTOs, a 599 SA Aperta, and a Ferrari 250 SWB. Don’t think it’s all Ferrari’s, though. Joe Macari has multiple McLarens and Lamborghinis, too.

According to Carscoops, most of the cars shown in the video are for sale. You can browse the dealer’s website if you’d like to see prices or are interesting is spending a little (okay, a lot) of money. Many of these cars will run well into seven figures. If you don’t have that kind of money to spend, then just view the video below and enjoy all of the beauty at the dealership.

Jenson Button Rekindles Honda Heritage at Bathurst

Honda Civic Type-R Sets Another FWD Lap Record with Jenson Button at the Wheel

For those who may not know, Jenson Button is a legendary former Honda F1 driver who is synonymous with Honda’s golden years in the Formula 1 scene. This era, many would argue, also coincides with the most prolific years for the Honda brand commercially. Naturally, this made Button the face and poster boy for Honda’s success in the early 2000s.

His relationship with the Japanese motor company remains amicable as ever in Button’s post-retirement, while his driving skills have remained well intact. As the Honda Civic Type-R continues to tour the world, setting (front-wheel drive) lap records at the most famous race tracks, Jenson Button was called up for the latest job – Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, Australia.

Aside from obviously possessing the raw talent required to pilot the car as quickly as possible around the daunting 3.9 mile circuit, the Briton also has the credentials when it comes to this track specifically. While promoting the Australian GP in 2011, he set the all-time lap record of 1:48.8 at Mount Panorama Circuit while driving an F1 car.

Jenson Button Rekindles Honda Heritage at Bathurst Jenson Button Rekindles Honda Heritage at Bathurst

This time around in the Honda Civic Type-R, Button was able to clock a 2:35.2, which was plenty good to be the new front-wheel drive production car lap record. This trip down-under follows a 2018 tour of Europe with the Civic Type-R, where five different drivers set front-wheel drive lap records at five circuits around the continent; with Button being involved with the achievement at Hungaroring.

The Civic Type-R also continues to hold the front-wheel drive production car lap record at the Nürburgring, with a remarkable lap time of 7:43.8 set in April 2017.

Watch a Porsche 911 GT3 RS And Mercedes-AMG GT R Attack the Nurburgring

Two High-Powered Cars Doing What They Do Best

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Mercedes-AMG GT-R are two amazing performance machines, and there’s no better place for the drivers of these two cars to have some fun than the Nurburgring. The cars are very evenly matched. When Mercedes set its official time in the GT-R it was the fastest rear-wheel-drive sports car with a time of 7:10.9 in 2016. Porsche has managed to best that time since 2016, but it’s safe to say both cars are performance beasts.

In the video below, you can see just how evenly matched the two cars are. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS starts off behind the Mercedes-AMG GT-R and follows pretty closely to its tail. About halfway through the video, the cars change positions and the Porsche GT3 RS takes the lead with the Mercedes following closely behind it.

Both drivers push the cars pretty well in the video and you can tell that these two would make for a hell of an official race. It would be awesome to do a lap of the Nurburgring without all of the other cars out there. These two have to slow down fairly often to make it around other track day goers. However, we’d hate to suggest kicking anyone off the track. It looks like a beautiful day to take on the Green Hell.

Porsche Will Offer the Cayman and Boxster With a Flat-Six Engine

Porsche Fans, Rejoice!

Porsche appears to have made a decision that will thrill sports car enthusiasts and Porsche enthusiasts everywhere. The company will bring it’s silky smooth flat-six to the Boxster and the 718 Cayman. The flat-six mill will be in a car that sits below the model line toppers for both cars.

According to Automobile, a source within Porsche let this information come out. The expectation is that the six-cylinder version of the car will slot in between the GTS and the GT4. This would make sense. There is a gap to fill there. The GT4 is just too much of a hardcore racer for some people. The six-cylinder variant could offer more luxurious accouterments on the interior of the car with near GT4 levels of performance.

Automobile points out that it would also make sense for Porsche to ditch the turbocharged four-cylinder in the 718 Cayman and Boxster S models. If the S models had a six-cylinder instead of the turbo four, it would be a real reason for people to upgrade to the S. The base 718 Cayman and Boxster cars could still use the turbo four-cylinder. That sounds like sound reasoning to us.

The specifications of the six-cylinder engine are not yet known. Automobile suggests the 3.8 flat six that was used from 2012 to 2015. However, there are rumors of Porsche using the bigger 4.0-liter from the 991.2 911 GT3. That is unlikely, but it would be exciting if the company chose to do so. We’ll keep you posted with any updates.

Top Gear Puts the Honda NSX Up Against the Litchfield GT-R in a Dragrace

Standard Honda vs. Modified Nissan

At a certain point, we guess we could see getting a little bored with the regular Nissan GT-R. That’s when you’d go wild and do all sorts of modifications and create something like the Litchfield GT-R. The car offers 631 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. It can do a 0-60 mph sprint in just 2.9 seconds. That means it’s a very fast machine, indeed.

What’s also fast? The Acura NSX. It comes with 573 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque and can make the 0-60 mph run in just 3.3 seconds it also weighs just a little less than the GT-R. It’s fast, but is it fast enough?

Top Gear decided to put the Acura NSX up against the Litchfield GT-R to see how the two would compare on a quarter-mile dragstrip. On paper, the Litchfield GT-R seems to have the advantage, but Honda’s NSX always seems to be able to surprise us. To be honest, upon first watch of this video we were rooting for it to win.

Rory Reid asks the all-important question. Is it better to buy a supercar and leave it alone, or buy a high-end sports car and make some modifications? It seems, based on the results at the dragstrip the latter might be the way to go. However, if you take these cars off the drag strip and put them on a true racing circuit, we’d be willing to wager there’s a different outcome. However, that’s a test for another day. Check out the drag race in the video below.

Evolution E-Types and Electrifi Will Build An Electric E-Type

The Car Will Cost Over $1 Million

Jaguar Classic will debut an electric E-Type prototype this summer that will cost $1 million. The car will be based on the legendary sports car from the 1960s. While the Jaguar Classic E-Type Zero will be an amazing machine, it won’t be the only electric E-Type out there. Evolution E-Types and Electrifi will have their own version of an electric E-Type, according to Carscoops, and it will be fast and special.

The companies will base the car on the original E-Type but strengthen the chassis to cope with the torque and power of the new electric motor. The car will first be offered as a roadster and then later as a coupe. Obviously, this car won’t be built from scratch, and if you want one, you’ll need an E-Type to start the conversion with. The company states the conversion is fully reversible, though, so if you ever wanted to switch back to an internal combustion engine, you could.

There aren’t many details out there about the powertrain. However, the companies did say the car will have around 450 hp and be able to do a 0-60 mph sprint in under four seconds. Its top speed will be about 165 mph. Despite adding in the electric powertrain and all of the components that come with it, the car is supossed to weigh about the same as the original.

The company plans to set the price at $1,081,934. That’s a lot of money for an electric car, but with the E-Type’s good looks and the strong reported performance numbers, it could be worth it.

These Modern Porsche 935 Retro Livery Images Are What You Need to Start Your Weekend

Feast Your Eyes on These Beauties

The modern 935 Clubsport from Porsche is a car that’s simply to die for. It’s drop-dead gorgeous and features a 700 hp and a body reminiscent of the legendary Porsche 935/78. Now the modern car will really look the part thanks to some new images of the vehicle in retro-inspired liveries.

Porsche recently released images of the new 935 in seven different liveries. Each and every single one of them is absolutely breathtaking and makes the most of the car’s sleek exterior. However, the mint green one shown above is our favorite. It makes the most of the car’s body.

There are several others. There’s the Gulf livery, which is blue and orange. There’s a Sachs theme, featuring a white and blue livery. The John Player Special is a black and gold livery. Interscope a black and orange theme. The Momo Racing livery uses a red and yellow racing theme. The final one is the Salzburg theme, which is red and white.

As we said above each one does a wonderful job of showing off the car’s sleek curves. The mint green is the one that stands out the most, though. It’s just not a color you see very often.

The Porsche 935 Clubsport is based on the 911 GT2 RS. The company unveiled it to rabid fanfare at the Rennsport Reunion last year. Porsche will build only 77 of the cars. Customer deliveries are expected next month.

The Lotus Type 130 Hypercar Will be Mind Blowing According to CEO

We Hope Lotus Is Right

Lotus has an upcoming all-electric hypercar called the Type 130. It’s a car that could transform the brand and make Lotus into the car company it wants to and deserves to become. It will debut in the middle of the year. Car Magazine recently reported that the boss of Lotus, Phil Popham, told reporters the car would be fantastic. His exact words were, “a mind-blowing hypercar, designed, engineered and built in the UK.”

That’s some seriously high praise, and we hope for the sake of Popham’s reputation that he’s right. Plus, a mind-blowing car from Lotus just sounds cool. Popham went on and said he wants to re-establish Lotus with this vehicle. He then said:

We’re very much focused on rebuilding the sports car business. When we’ve done that this brand has the strength to go beyond that. It could be GTs, crossovers, sporting sedans… the premium segment is large beyond sports cars. We have to produce cars that are loyal to our DNA.

This is all very good news. Lotus has made some of history’s best sports cars ever, and to see the company working to expand as it currently wants to gives us hope for the future. Popham said the company will focus not just on the product but on the experience of electric cars.

He hinted at future cars being autonomous and sounded like he wanted to position Lotus as a car company that sells cars for people who really want to drive. This is an interesting distinction. Popham seems to think there will be two areas of the market, one where the machines drive themselves and one for enthusiasts and people who love to drive. We can’t say we disagree with him. Lotus could have a bright future ahead of it.

Watch a LaFerrari Get Wild in the Rain

Would You Take a LaFerrari Rallying?

In what appears to be a pretty unorganized event where supercars take on various wet roads, grass, and giant puddles, a YouTuber followed a LaFerrari as it took on roads and weather conditions that would surely keep most Ferrari owners indoors. According to Carscoops, the YouTuber was TheTFJJ, but the video included in the article was from a channel called ItsFrankMemes. No matter what channel is ultimately responsible, we’re glad this footage exists.

The LaFerrari wears a license plate that’s very fitting. It says simply WTF1. We assume the standard WTF was taken when he went to the BMV. While that’s a shame, what isn’t a shame is the footage of this very expensive car sliding around on wet pavement, powering through muddy puddles like a low-to-the-ground 4X4, and slipping around on some wet and muddy grass.

It’s a hilarious and maddening sight to see, especially, when the LaFerrari does donuts in a grassy field as sheep look on. While we’re not sure we’d ever do this with a LaFerrari or any car nearing its price and performance, we have to give a nod of appreciation to the owner. The grassy scenes are a bit hard to watch, but we love that he took the LaFerrari out in the wet for some fun.

The car owner’s identity was not disclosed, but we know he’s either totally crazy or very cool. Likely both. You can check out the full video below.

De Tomaso Will Come Back From the Dead

A New Logo and a New Car

The good Lord of cars saw fit to let one of the supercar icons return to this lovely earth. De Tomaso is coming back from the dead. Apollo Automobili is the company that revived the brand and will bring a new car and a new logo to the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 4.

Currently, the new De Tomaso car is code-named Project P. According to CarBuzz, the De Tomaso return has been several years in the making. The start of its rise from the ashes came in 2014 when Ideal Team Ventures, which owns Apollo Automobili, acquired the rights to De Tomaso.

Over the next five years, Ideal Team Ventures had to get De Tomaso in order. Now Project P is close to being a reality. The details on Project P are still scarce at the moment. However, there are two images of the car floating around. We have included them in this post.

The car looks like it could be a spiritual successor to the old Pantera from De Tomaso. That car came out in the 1970s. We’re all for that. This is a smart move by the company. The Pantera was the brand’s best-known model, and using the nostalgia people have for it could help the company get the buyers it’ll need to be a success.

The McLaren GT Is a Beautifully Elegant Supercar With 612 HP

Is This the Ultimate Grand Touring Machine?

It’s time for you to feast your eyes on the new McLaren supercar, the GT. The car has a mid-engine 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 that makes 612 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. The model is a bit longer and more elegant than the other models from the brand.

The car is a bit more usable as an everyday vehicle, too. It sits up a little higher than the other supercars in McLaren’s lineup and offers segment-leading cabin refinement, according to the company. It also comes with a reasonably generous 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Add in the additional storage areas in the car and you have a combined total of over 20 cubic feet of cargo space.

The car isn’t some plush boat, though. It’s made for speed and impressive performance. The car features a MonoCell II-T monocoque. The rear upper portion of the structure is made of carbon fiber.  It can do 124 mph in nine seconds flat and has a top speed of 203 mph.

The McLaren GT is the fourth model to come out of the company’s Track25 business plan. The company is taking orders for the car immediately. It costs $210,000. Judging by the performance of the car and the new infotainment system for the car and its high-quality interior materials, including Nappa leather and Alcantara, the price tag is more than warranted.

Hyundai and Kia Announce a Partnership with Rimac

A Smart Strategic Move

Hyundai and Kia, both members of the same automotive group, have both invested significant amounts of money in Rimac and entered into a strategic partnership. According to Carscoops, the companies will work together on future projects. One of these projects will be the Hyundai N midship sports car. Hyundai and Kia want to make a big splash in the electric car space, and that would be one way of doing it.

Hyundai first had the idea for the mid-engine car with the Veloster RM Concept. That car was a gasoline-powered model, but it got a lot of people talking. After that, the company showed off the RM15, which was a more refined version of the concept. The rumors were that it would make it to production, but that never happened. Now it seems the car will go electric.

That’s where Rimac comes in. The electric car manufacturer has made some of the most impressive automobiles ever. The company has since connected up with Porsche, Aston Martin, Pininfarina, and other companies to help those companies make the most of electric car technology. Hyundai and Kia want in on the action now. Hyundai Motor Group’s Executive Vice Chairman, Euisun Chung seemed very excited about working with Rimac. He said this of the company:

Rimac is an innovative company with outstanding capabilities in high-performance electric vehicles. Its startup roots and abundant experience collaborating with automakers with technological prowess makes Rimac the ideal partner for us. We look forward to collaborating with Rimac on our road to Clean Mobility.

As you can tell, the Hyundai mid-engine car isn’t the only thing on the minds of Hyundai and Kia. The companies will be working on other cars, too. While a sports car may be the big news, the other vehicles might have a broader impact on the market as a whole.

The Upcoming Ferrari Will Have 986 HP and Come in May

Get Ready for the “Super Ferrari”

Recently an invitation to the debut of the new Ferrari supercar went out. That invitation was then posted to Ferrari chat and showed some interesting info about the upcoming car. First, it showed that the car will come on May 31 in Maranello. The second thing it showed was that the car will come with 986 hp, which is the power stated once converted from the French power metric represented by CV.

According to Motor Authority, the car will have a regular production cycle, meaning it won’t be a limited edition model like has been the case for other flagship supercar models from the company. The publication also speculates on the type of powertrain the car will get.

The rumor is that it will be a hybrid powerplant. Ferrari could use a V6 or V8 engine in the hybrid powertrain. Both engines have been rumored to be under development. If the model is to be a true range-topping model, then it will likely use a V8.

The hybrid model will most likely be able to drive on electric power alone for a notable distance. According to Motor Authority, recent spy footage showed a car traveling silently down the road so you can expect some kind of battery-only range.

The invitation gives some other details like the itinerary and some other language. You can view the full image of the invitation below.

What The First Drive Reviews Say of the 2020 Toyota Supra

It’s Mostly Good News

When Toyota first let it be known that the new 2020 Supra would be developed in partnership with BMW, many hardcore Supra fans were not happy. It makes sense. The Toyota Supra is such an iconic car. It’s one that has a legendary following. To let the Germans design the engine, transmission, steering rack, and dampers is a sacrilege.

However, the more people see of the car, the more it becomes clear that the Supra does have some major differences than the BMW Z4 with which it shares so much. Toyota, of course, wants to point out as many differences as possible. The Supra should still feel like a Supra and not like a BMW. From what we’re hearing in the press, it does, to a certain extent.

The interior seems to be some people’s biggest issue with the car. It looks like a BMW, but that’s not the end of the world, necessarily. BMW makes high-quality interiors. Still, if you’re a Toyota purist, that’s unacceptable. One good thing is that it looks a lot different than the BMW Z4, which is nice.

What the Reviews Say

There’s a lot of views and opinions of the 2020 Supra. Toyota recently had several journalists out to drive the new car. Here’s a look at what was said.

“While fans might roll their eyes at the partnership with BMW, it helped to spawn a stylish sports car with an upscale interior, plenty of power and great handling characteristics,” wrote Michael Gauthier of Carscoops

“That the Supra lacks the genetic purity its disciples might prefer is clear, but genealogy is far less important than creating a driving tool capable of fully immersing its pilot in the experience. And that’s what Toyota has done with the Supra,” wrote Josh Jacquot of Car and Driver.

“And yes, this car can feel a little too soft and maybe even too refined at times, but Supra historically has been a road-focused sports car and this new one fits quite nicely in that mold, offering far more power, poise, and polish than previous generations,” wrote Tim Stevens of Roadshow by CNET.

“This is a genuinely transcendent product, pushing the limits of what’s possible in a competitive class, albeit with a platform, engine, and interior borrowed from BMW ... But get behind the wheel and the end result is a product that far exceeds any preconceived notions. Haters be damned,” wrote Jeff Perez of Motor1.

“Although the Supra’s BMW roots and joint efforts pay off in spades from behind the wheel, I was hoping for a Toyota thoroughbred,” wrote Chris Chin of The Drive.

It’s clear then that if you can get past the fact that the new Supra is indeed a BMW car with some serious Toyota flavored spice thrown in, then you’ll thoroughly enjoy this car. We think we can get excited about a car like this, but understand why some people never will.

Watch the Difference in Straight Line Speed Of the McLaren Senna and 600LT

Hypercar vs. Supercar

It’s clear on paper who would win in a drag race between the McLaren Senna and the McLaren 600LT. Both cars are very fast cars, but the Senna is on a whole other level. While that is clear purely from the specifications and performance numbers, it can be hard to truly visualize this in real life.

Well, that’s where the guys over at Motorsport Magazine come in. They thought it best to really demonstrate the difference between the two cars. The publication wanted to showcase what makes the one so much faster than the other. The team took a McLaren Senna and a McLaren 600LT, both obviously stock cars, to a long stretch of road. According to Carscoops, the stretch measured 1,000 meters or .62 miles.

We all know the Senna with its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that makes 728 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque will win, but the McLaren 600LT with its 197 hp and 133 lb-ft of torque disadvantage does do its best to keep pace. However, there’s no chance with the Senna. The space between the cars is honestly a little surprising, even though after reviewing the specifications again, it shouldn’t be.

BMW Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo Touring AWD Passes Porsche and AMG in New Ad

It’s a Wagon with 608 hp

The BMW Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo Touring AWD doesn’t look any more intimidating than any other wagon, but it hides a secret that you’re bound to find out about the moment you touch the throttle. The car has a 608 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The bi-turbo V8 engine also pushes power to all four wheels. The model is capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 200 mph.

That’s faster than many sports cars and even some supercars. To illustrate this, Alpina put together a little ad to troll both Porsche and AMG. In the ad, a Porsche GT3 RS and the AMG GT R are duking it out on a long stretch of a racetrack. As Motor1 rightly points out, it looks a lot like the Nurburgring. The Porsche and AMG are backed by some hardcore rock music and the typical engine noises and fast cutaways used to make the cars look even quicker.

Then comes the Aplina. It sort of saunters in and traditional Bavarian music plays. It’s a stark contrast and one that Alpina has to be happy with. The wagon takes off leaving the other two cars in the dust.

It’s a simple advertisement with a simple message, and it’s awesome to see a super high-speed wagon coming from at least one well-respected company in the industry. It’s a nice break from all of the SUV talk and all of the low-slung electric hypercars. There’s just something lovely about a super-fast station wagon.

Watch the Porsche 911 Speedster Highlights Film and Long for the Car

This Is the 911 We Want

The Porsche 911 Speedster is one of Porsche’s most beautiful cars ever. The model takes everything we could love about the 911 and puts it into an open-top speedster that’s extremely fast. The company recently released a highlight video of the car showcasing all the best stuff.

The video also has some serious eye candy of the car taking on various beautiful-looking roads. Even if you don’t care about the specifications of the car, you should care very deeply about the beautiful scenes in the video shown below. Porsche knows how to hit all the emotional spots and it does so with ease with the 911 Speedster.

[embedded content]

For those of you that do care about the specifications, know this, it’s basically an open-top GT3. The car gets a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six-cylinder engine that produces 510 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque at a little over 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a good old-fashioned six-speed manual transmission.

The car also gets dynamic engine mounts, a motorsports (GT3-derived) chassis, Porsche ceramic composite brakes, rear axle steering, some special carbon-fiber-reinforced bucket seats, 20-inch wheels, and a focus on lightweight materials throughout the car. The speedster is truly special, and for that, Porsche is charging $274,500, according to CarBuzz.

Lamborghini Finds and Certifies the Miura P400 From the Original ‘The Italian Job’

After Five Decades

If you’ve ever seen the original “The Italian Job,” then you’ve probably drooled over the orange Miura P400 in the opening scenes. Then you probably cried when it was destroyed. However, the car wasn’t actually destroyed. The movie used an already wrecked Miura to shoot those scenes. The real car lived on, though nobody knew where. It was lost despite collectors trying to find it.

Lamborghini Polo Storico recently announced it found the car and certified it as chassis number #3586. According to Carscoops, Lamborghini didn’t have much to do with actually finding it. The owner brought it in. However, the company did do the arduous task of verifying it by searching through records and comparing what it did know about the car.

Apparently, after the car was used in the film, it was driven back to the factory and then delivered to its first owner. From there it changed hands several times. Fritz Kaiser, the car’s current owner, bought the car in 2018 and decided to have Lamborghini Polo Storico take a closer look at it. He has to be happy with the results.

The BMW M8 Competition Leaks

More Aggressive Than Ever

The new BMW 8-Series is out, and there are rumors and information floating around the web about upcoming variants of the new car. One of those variants yet to come out is the M8 Competition. It will be a hard-edged version of the car, and more sporty than ever. It just leaked.

According to CarBuzz, this isn’t the first time the car has leaked, but it’s the most recent and one of the closest shots to the car that has surfaced. The photo was posted to Eng. Abdalla Alhammadi’s Instagram profile. From there, the image spread like wildfire across various forums and new sites.

The image shows a red and black 8-Series that’s undoubtedly the M8 Competition. The picture was posted to Instagram with the caption, “New photo of BMW M8.” It’s unclear how the user was able to capture the image.

CarBuzz notes that when you compare this image with the previously leaked images and spy shots of the car, it’s clear that the M8 Competition will feature a lot of carbon fiber on the exterior of the car. It will also get a unique rear spoiler, unique rear diffuser, and black exhaust tips. The publication also notes that the roof will be carbon fiber across the model range.

BMW currently sells the M850i as the highest level of the car. That will change with this new version. There will also be other versions of the car as BMW continues to flesh out the model range.
