Verdict: Though today the name conjures up the image of a hulking diver, the Seamaster started life as a dress watch back in 1948. To celebrate 70 years of that heritage, Omega released two special edition Seamsters that take on the look of those early dress watches.

Both watches feature sleek, 38mm case designs and feature old-school details like domed dials and mid-century-style applied hour markers. They come in two configurations: one with a central seconds hand and one with a small seconds sub-dial. But both are running a version of Omega’s Master Chronometer movement which means they’ll both be hyper-accurate and resistant to magnetism.

Who It’s For: Though ostensibly a dress watch, the Seamaster 1948 is well-rounded enough (anti-magnetic, water-resistant to 60 meters, etc) that this could work as an everyday watch, especially for those whose profession requires more formal attire.
