For those interested in beautiful hi-fi speakers, you’re going to want to check out this deal: Symbol Audio is selling its Tabletop HiFi, a normally $1,995 hi-fi speaker, for less than $1,000. That’s a crazy good deal, especially considering that Symbol Audio rarely discounts its speakers. The discount applies the Tabletop HiFi in any number of cabinet and front grille finishes; you can choose between finishes like jet black, glacier white (pictured) and natural walnut.
We published a profile of Symbol Audio a few years ago and, as a refresher, the New York-based company makes reference-quality audio products that are rooted in furniture design. The Tabletop HiFi, specifically, is a gorgeous stereo speaker that’s made out of wood and it looks like it could easily blend into any mid-century home. It has a built-in amplifier and a number of built-in inputs, allowing you to hook it up directly to a turntable, receiver or even a smartphone. Symbol Audio can add a wireless streaming option – Bluetooth (+$80), Sonos Connect (+$350), or Yahama MusicCast (+$350) – for an additional charge.
It’s worth noting that if you want to invest in a larger hi-fi package, Symbol Audio offers a “turntable package” that comes with a Rega Planar 1 Plus turntable ($475), which is integrated phono pre-amp (and a matching finish), so it will plug into the Tabletop HiFi and just work.
