For those familiar with the Weekender, you’ll notice that this new version has a couple of major differences. For starters, the traditionally bulbous case has been swapped for a more refined, angular one. Instead of being very rounded, this one has beveled edges. It also has more of a satin finish, instead of a mirrored polish.
Furthermore, the design of the face and the chronograph layout is different from previous versions of Weekender chronographs. The sub-dials are smaller and more spaced out (which is somewhat awkward, especially when you notice how high it pushes the logo on the face).

The watch also has a larger crown with “We” (for Weekender) etched into it. Interestingly, this is also now the only Weekender chronograph available on the brand’s site — possibly a sign that this design is heralding in a new era for the staple model.
It’s likely to be divisive, as the original Weekender is such an icon. But the floogates are already open.
