While you’ll have to wait until 2019 to see Ikea’s Sonos collaboration come to fruition, the Swedish furniture giant has just debuted its first step into the world of home audio with its new minimalist Eneby Bluetooth speaker lineup. It consists of two speaker sizes: a portable 8×8 inch model with a handle ($49) and a larger 12×12 inch version ($89), and both are built to fit perfectly in Ikea’s Kallax and Eket storage systems (an attractive add-on stand is also available for $10). They’re made from ABS plastic and feature covers made from either black or gray polyester fabric. The Eneby can pair up to eight Bluetooth devices and has a 3.5mm auxiliary jack in case the device you’re playing music from doesn’t have Bluetooth. An optional battery pack ($20) is available as well.

Given their low price point, there’s probably a good chance these speakers won’t satiate the demands of audiophiles, and unfortunately, Ikea hasn’t disclosed any performance specs for the Eneby. Still, the speakers’ attractive neo-vintage minimalist aesthetic is aimed at buyers who prioritize good design over sound quality, and given the relatively low cost, it’s sure to play into the brand’s strategy of getting you to impulse buy many of its smaller homewares (and meatballs). Currently, the Eneby speakers aren’t available on Ikea’s website, but they are available in stores now.
