The watch’s crown is abutted by large, chamfered crown guards and screws down, helping to ensure a robust 200m of water resistance. Is that more than what’s needed for a pilot’s watch? Probably, but given that the 42mm case is just 12mm thick, I don’t think many will complain.
There are multiple strap options for the Dualtimer, all of which seamlessly integrate into the case. Most premium is a flat H-link stainless steel bracelet with polished chamfers and a butterfly clasp. There are also textured rubber straps in black, orange and white that appear to be the same straps available on the Milgraph. There’s allegedly a black leather strap option, but it doesn’t appear on the product page. (In general, I’ll say that Micromilspec’s website is … not great. There’s a lot of inconsistent product info on there.)
My favorite feature of the Dualtimer, and one that sets it apart from most other pilot’s GMT watches, is the lume treatment. The hands, indices and bezel markings all use ultrabright Super-LumiNova X1, but in different shades. The hands and indices of the main timekeeping glow green, while the bezel and GMT hand glow blue, making it extremely easy to distinguish between the two time zones in any light.
Pricing and Availability
While it doesn’t have quite the head-turning looks or crazy-high functionality of the Milgraph, the Dualtimer is still another attractive and purpose-built winner from Micromilspec. Plus, at around half the price of the Milgraph, it also marks an easier entry into the brand for curious collectors.
Like all of Micromilspec’s releases, the Dualtimer is an annual release and is made to order. Lead time is about six months, and the price ranges from $1,955 on a strap to $2,035 on the bracelet.
