As for power, each Diva Mezza Utopia loudspeaker has a maximum power output of 500 watts, meaning the system peaks at 1,000 watts. On the flip side, last year’s Diva Utopia loudspeakers each maxed out at 400 watts, with the system able to deliver 800 watts of combined power.
Naim Class A/B amplification
Like its smaller sibling, the Diva Mezza Utopia is a joint effort between Focal and Naim, its sister company. Focal handles the loudspeaker tech, while Naim handles the amplification and streaming.
And just like the Diva Utopia, each Diva Mezza Utopia loudspeaker has a 3-way design consisting of a beryllium tweeter, a mid-range driver, and four side-mounted woofers. (Note: the Diva Mezza Utopia’s 8-inch woofers are larger and promise to help it deliver deeper bass.)
Each loudspeaker is powered by three Naim Class A/B amplifiers, which feed 90 watts to the tweeter, 30 watts to mid-range drivers, and 280 watts to the four woofers.
