Not to be outdone by the likes of Sony, Samsung and LG, Panasonic just announced their GZ2000, a custom-made 4K OLED TV that it’s calling the “world’s most cinematic TV.” In support of that claim, it is the world’s first TV to support HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and the HLG Photo format.

With boosted brightness levels and improved contrast handling, it’s a natural choice for watching live sports, screening action movies and viewing the highest quality still photos. Essentially, the GZ200 is a fanatically accurate reference monitor designed by/for Hollywood professionals. In particular, it was color-tuned by Stefan Sonnenfeld, who’s applied his masterful visual artistry to such popular films as “300,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Jurassic World.” But this is more than just a pretty panel to look at.

It’s also the world’s first TV with built-in upward-firing speakers (tuned by Panasonic’s Technics engineers) capable of delivering immersive audio thanks to its built-in Dolby Atmos speakers. So it’s great to listen to. And it’ll listen to you, supporting both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, to control basic TV functions and integrate into your smart home set-up.

Lastly, My Home Screen 4.0 will allow you to tailor the TV’s redesigned user interface to your liking. You’ll have quick access to on-demand and broadcast content, with shortcuts to frequently watched TV stations; apps such as Netflix, Amazon and YouTube; and connected devices. So you can dive into the visual feast that much faster.

Though Panasonic hasn’t yet released info on the availability or pricing for these fabulous 55- and 65-inch TVs, they may start out somewhere in the high four or perhaps low five figures. Then again, if you’re reading this and thinking about how much it costs, it probably ain’t the set for you.
