But while Yeti’s obsession with durability and ice retention is legendary, a small Arkansas-based Etsy shop, LatchOutdoors, is quietly (and cleverly) upgrading Yeti Roadie coolers with smart, practical features — not by replacing them, but by swapping out the latches.
Using 3D printing and a keen eye for what cooler owners need, they’ve created a trio of aftermarket upgrades worthy of any Yeti fan’s attention.
A Bright Idea
Ever rummaged through a cooler in the dark, trying to find one last cold drink at the bottom of the ice?
The LightLatch replaces the stock Yeti Roadie latch with a built-in LED light capable of producing 16 lumens. It can be turned on and off with a squeeze of the integrated button.
A single light can brighten the cooler’s interior when the lid is opened. If you don’t have another light source, a pair of lights can illuminate the surrounding area around a cooler even when closed by flipping up the end of the latch.
