Anglepoise Type 1228 Lamp
Save $50 Anglepoise has been making its iconic spring-balanced lamps since the 1930s. The Type 1227 was the company’s first product, and its aluminum body, easy-to-adjust arm, modern aesthetic and durability have made it (and Anglepoise) British design royalty. Sir Kenneth Grange is also British design royalty, and, since he was brought on as Design Director in 2003, he’s been the driving force behind Anglepoise’s enduring popularity.

Grange, whose awards and accolades are too many to count, is thought of as the father of modernist British design. He’s the chief author of a cross-country passenger train, the Royal Post mailbox, London’s Black Taxis and a series of mid-century Kodak cameras just to name a few. Unveiled today, his most recent creation is a collaboration with another of our favorite companies: Huckberry.

Exclusive to Huckberry, the Type 1228 is a simple update to the classic 1227. It keeps with tradition in employing an aluminum body, chrome-plated fittings and a cast-iron weighted base, but it’s given a more colorful appearance with a translucent polypropene shade. The Type 1228 is available now with black, blue or frosted white shades for 15 percent on Huckberry’s site — good for a $50 savings. —Will Price

Nike Zoom Fly Flyknit Sale
Save $50+The Nike Vaporfly 4% sneakers took the world by storm. The shoes have been thoroughly tested and written about by marathoners worldwide — even the New York Times did some heavy duty research on how much these shoes help your performance over 26.2 miles. In the fall of 2018, Nike launched the new Vaporfly 4% Flyknit and the Zoom Fly Flyknit, the latter being the more budget-friendly (albeit still expensive) running shoe that’s fast and light. Winter Baselayers
Save up to 50%: Winter can be temperamental. Recently, a weather report for a single week here in the Northeast described temperatures in negative double digits (snow, ice, wind chill) rebounding to the forties (slush, rain, melt). It’s enough to drive one trying to dress for a trip, or even a daily commute, nuts. The shoot-from-the-hip solution might be to seek out the single most versatile piece of clothing available, but you’ll be hard pressed to find one thing that can handle winter’s erratic mood swings. Aim for a well-rounded system of layers that can be added or subtracted based on the day, starting with the baselayers.
Baselayers — long johns, long underwear, etc. — are the foundation of a winter outdoor kit. They’re worn directly next to the skin, they’re thin, they provide warmth and they breathe and wick away moisture. The best are usually, but not always, made of merino wool, while the worst are made of cotton. Don’t buy cotton baselayers. They’ll undoubtedly be cheaper, but they’ll leave you chilled the minute they dampen with sweat.
Yes, the alternatives are pricier, but they’ll last longer, and they’ll be warmer, which is the entire point. Right now there are lots of great options available at Backcountry for notable discounts too, including midweight tops and bottoms from Smartwool, a lightweight tee from Icebreaker and a full-on onesie by Airblaster. Discounts range up to 50 percent and more, but you’ll want to hunt around for the right size. — Tanner Bowden

Dyson V8 Vacuums
Save 30% Among Dyson’s vast and expensive catalog, the V8 vacuum stands out. The cordless vacuum sports more suction power and battery life than its preceding model, and its entire filtration system is washable — meaning you don’t have to replace the filters as often. And because it’s three years old, it can be had for much less than the most up-to-date model.

Today on Amazon, the V8 Absolute is marked down to $350 — or more than $100 lower than any price we’ve seen before. —Will Price

Zwilling x Bob Kramer Chef’s Knife
Save $60Owning a Bob Kramer knife is a status symbol. Owned by culinary giants like Thomas Keller, Charlie Palmer and Andrew Zimmern, Kramer’s knives sell at auctions for tens of thousands of dollars, and he’s got a years-long waitlist to boot.

It should be noted that this is a high carbon steel blade, meaning it shouldn’t be washed in a dishwasher or left with any moisture on it. If you’re serious about picking up a carbon steel knife, it would be wise to pick up some knife oil, too. —Will Price

Sony WH1000XM3 Noise-Canceling Headphones
Save $50: The Sony WH1000XM3 are the best noise-canceling headphones you can buy. This past December we gave them a 2018 GP100 award, which we give to the 100 best products of the year. If you haven’t heard of these headphones, here’s what you need to know: Sony released the WH1000XM3 this past fall and they’re better than the Sony WH1000XM2 in every way. They sound better. They’re better at noise-cancellation. They have modern perks, like USB-C charging. And now you can get them for a discount. Amazon is selling refurbished models for $300 — that’s a savings of $50. Both black and silver models are available at this discount.

Vega Protein Powder Sale
Save $30The world of protein powder is a scary place. The runners on our team often talk about what we do to re-fuel without putting crap into our bodies. My go-to is typically a giant scoop of peanut butter (and then maybe another one), but Vega’s Sport premium protein is a close second choice. I’ve sampled this powder in everything from wake up shakes to post-run peanut butter and banana smoothies, and it’s always tasted great to me. There’s no dry mouth or weird texture feeling with it. You can save $30 when you opt to buy a large tub of the vanilla or chocolate flavors. — Meg Lappe

Nordstrom’s Big Tumi Sale
Save 30 Percent If you travel a lot — or want to start traveling more — there are few better investments than high-quality luggage. Today, Nordstrom is selling some of our favorite travel gear from Tumi for 30 percent off.— Justin Fenner

Yeti Hopper 18 Cooler
Save $100: At this point, Yeti coolers speak for themselves. If you need a refresher, here it is: they’re burly enough to handle severe abuse (falls off cliffs, bears) and they keep beverages cold for, without exaggeration, days. Even the company’s more portable soft-sided Hopper coolers are overbuilt to take on much more than a camping trip or day at the beach will entail.

Yeti Coolers are also known for their price tag, so it’s notable whenever one is discounted as much as the Hopper 18 currently is on eBay. Typically $300, the cooler is on sale for $200. This model has enough volume for 20 beverages at a two-to-one can-to-ice ratio or 24 pounds of ice alone. Its high-density shell is waterproof, puncture-proof and both UV- and mildew-resistant. Yeti won’t be discontinuing it any time soon, so don’t wait around for another chance like this (it might not come). — Tanner Bowden

Save Up to 50%For most motorcycle riders, winter means staring longingly at your beloved bike while it lives life hooked up to a trickle charger waiting for the first warm day. Dyson Space Heater
Save $150 In classic Dyson fashion, its space heater is levels above what you’d expect from a space heater. The energy-efficient tower allows you to zero in your desired temperature down to a single degree, set automatic off-on timers and even customize the width of the oscillation cycle. Plus, it’s temperature-capped at 392 degrees — also known as the temperature dust burns, which is the source of the awful smell that radiates from lesser space heaters.

Patagonia Nine Trails 28L Pack

Compared to other hiking bags in Patagonia’s line, the Nine Trails is still new, but right now it’s on sale for 34 percent off at Mountain Steals. — Tanner Bowden
