Miele Canister Vacuums
Save 30%We write a lot about cordless vacuums and robot vacuums. Mostly, because for the majority of people out there one or the other is the best for their situation — cordless for smaller homes and general use, and robot for larger homes with a side of lethargy. The canister vacuums from Miele, which Wirecutter once called “just about the best you can get in cleaning,” is not for everyone — but for those it is for, it’s the best, and two of its entry-level models are on sale today.

The Compact C2 Electro (the one mentioned in the Wirecutter article) and the Compact C1 are both at the lowest price we’ve seen them in a while today. The upshot on these vacuums — if you or a person in your home have asthma, persistent allergy issues, are seroius about the quality of the air in your place or serioius despise dust, these are the vacuums to get.

As a general rule, canister vacuums create far more suction than any cordless or corded upright vacuums, and have far more space for filtration systems. It should be noted these vacuums are not bagless, so you’ll have to remember to keep up with buying those (the bags fill up very quickly if you have shedding animals in your home).

Both vacuums are 30 percent off today on Amazon. — Will Price

Tissot PR100 Chronometer
Save 50%: While watch enthusiasts are likely familiar with COSC testing and chronometer certified watches, very few probably realize that the organization doesn’t just test mechanicals. There are, in fact, some quartz watches that go through testing, as well — this Tissot PR100 is one of them. It’s undergone the appropriate testing and is thus guaranteed accurate to within 0.2 seconds per day (if you do the math, that’s about six seconds a month). That’s not bad considering the watch’s relatively low price of entry: its MSRP is $575, but right now you can get it for just half that. So, For $287, you’re getting a nicely-finished, accurate and reliable watch with a stainless steel bracelet. You could certainly do a lot worse. — Andrew Connor

Adidas Fall Sale
Save up to 65%: Many of the items that a trip calls for are easily decided upon: a suitcase, a toiletry kit, perhaps a universal plug adapter. Some, like footwear, require more careful thought. A decent pair of travel shoes has to fit in the central overlap of a precarious Venn diagram weighing comfort, good looks and practicality. We’ve found that running shoes often land on this bullseye. Support and performance are built-in, and if chosen wisely, style can be achieved too.

Adidas is currently offering an additional 30 percent discount on a handful of on-sale shoes that meet these relatively strict guidelines. One Reddit user summed up the sale succinctly: “My wallet’s telling me no, but my feet. My feet are telling me yes.” Our feet are saying the same thing. Use the code SEPTSALE for the discount. — Tanner Bowden
