Edgevale Merritt Jacket
Save $150: A good shirt jacket will get you through the times when Mother Nature is a bit fickle — so pretty much all year long. 70 degree days in November? We’ve had them here in the Northeast. 40 degrees during summer? San Francisco is no stranger to colder temps in vernal equinox. This hybrid jacket with moisture-wicking Polartec fabric is comfortable, versatile and reinforced to prevent rips over time. Bring it along to the backcountry or use it as an extra layer for your bike commute. — Meg Lappe

Faherty All Day Short
Save 48%: If you’re anything like us, you expect more from your garments. It’s not enough to have a piece of clothing fit for only a single application — it should be versatile and multipurpose. New York-based Faherty understands your needs and created the All Day short, a hybrid between a swim trunk and a traditional short perfect for summer wear.

This understated short has a nine-inch inseam and is made from a cotton-recycled poly blend with a touch of stretch for comfort. It borrows design elements lifted from traditional shorts like a fly-front zipper, a button closure and side pockets so you can wear them to dinner without looking like you just came from the beach. What’s more, they’re quick-drying, odor repellent and feature easy-draining pockets.

Normally $98, the All Day short is 48 percent off at Nordstrom Rack and only costs $51. If you’re looking for an affordable summer short that does more, this is it. — John Zientek

Sedici Avventura Carbon Helmet
Save $100: Despite being in mass market products for a more than a few years now, carbon fiber, well, anything, tends to be more expensive than products made with more conventional materials. However, because the woven material is lighter and stronger than steel, investing a few extra dollars in a carbon fiber motorcycle helmet is justifiable, even if they are on the higher side of the price spectrum. Which makes the Avventura Carbon Helmet by Sedici a rare find.

Normally, it goes for $280, which is still relatively inexpensive, but today you can snag one for $180. And if you think the lower price means a lesser helmet, know the Sedici meets or exceeds DOT and ECE standards. Is this the beginning of affordable CF products? We hope so. — Bryan Campbell

Victorinox Swiss Army Knives
Save up to 40%: There may be no pocket knife more classic than the Swiss Army Knife. It was the original multi-tool before Leatherman made multi-tools a separate category. In the more than 100 years since Victorinox, the Swiss company behind the red-handled tool created its first blade for the actual Swiss Army; it has produced so many versions of the knife that now one exists for every conceived use. There are knives with pens, knives with USB sticks, knives with golf club head-scrapers.
The original still holds true though, and Victorinox’s Evolution series is an update on that pocket knife that avoids gimmicks — the most notable new feature is an ergonomically-designed handle. Scissors, bottle openers, corkscrews, screwdrivers and of course, knives, are all present in the series. Right now, almost every pocket knife in the collection is up to 40 percent off on Amazon, depending on which model you buy (and how many tools you want in your pocket). — Tanner Bowden

Cheap Patio Furniture
Save up to 70%: Today eBay has a patently absurd count of patio furniture and outdoor accessories on steep, steep discount. Think Adirondack chairs, pool chaises, porch bartops and wannabe ENO hammocks up to 70 percent off, and plenty more.

The catch — this stuff isn’t exactly high design, and we can’t claim it’s all going to last a lifetime. We can guarantee, though, that if you’ve procrastinated and not furnished your back porch yet you’re running dangerously close to being ill-equipped come Memorial Day. We can also guarantee a $1,225 rattan sofa, two chair and coffee table set that’s on sale for $399 is about as good as a deal gets. — Will Price
