Google Project Stream Controller

The latest rumors are suggesting that something big is cooking and will end up shaking the gaming industry. Sega is no longer a player in the console gaming market but continues to create and publish games. Analysts are speculating that the aforementioned company is partnering with Google to develop a brand new next-generation game system. For now, we’re going to treat it as mere speculation, but we do have something more concrete. It looks like the search giant is unveiling its plans to offer a game-streaming service soon. Shortly after, a patent of what appears to be the Google Project Stream controller pops up online.

Last October, the company began testing its new platform by running Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Finding out that a special controller is on its way, the pieces are now falling into place. Sources confirm that the patent was reportedly for “Notifications on Game Controller.” Moreover, the documents also include an image of what’s possibly the final design of what the gamepad would look like.

So far, it appears to have an ergonomic design that’s similar to a Sony DualShock 4. You have a D-pad on the left and four face buttons on the right. These feature edges that have the yellow, blue, green, and red colors, which correspond to the brand’s logo. The middle portion houses the action, home, and menu buttons. There are also two analog sticks toward the bottom with what looks like a mic button in between. We’re suspect that the latter launches the Google Assistant feature. Let’s hope that more details regarding the Google Project Stream head our way soon.

Nintendo Switch Classic NES Controllers

The wave of nostalgia is stronger than ever. Various manufacturers tap into their previous catalogs to bring older products back to life. You can clearly observe this when it comes to retro automobile rebuilds and restorations. One example is the Nintendo Switch Classic NES Controllers. It seems like almost everybody wants a piece of something memorable from the past as a form of comfort. It’s a habit that we wholeheartedly support and enjoy.

Gearheads are not the only individuals who reminisce about days gone by as video game companies also want a piece of the pie. Lately, Nintendo is one such brand to supply nostalgic gamers with products that awaken childhood memories. We fondly recall waking up on Christmas day to unwrap the latest game system of our time. Now, the Switch features a huge library of 8-bit games. Most of these titles play best with a familiar controller design based on the classic NES gamepads.

These effortlessly slide into the Joy-Con slots of the hybrid gaming device to charge. You will notice that some buttons are strangely absent—this is apparently an intentional design since these controllers will only work with a curated number of classic games. We were surprised to learn that these classic NES Switch controllers can only be purchased along with Nintendo’s upcoming game streaming service. Get ready to part with your $60 for a pair of these retro beauties.

Xbox One Limited Edition Greaseproof Controller

PC gaming uses multiple accessories such as the mouse and keyboard to control the on-screen action. Console gamers, on the other hand, rely on the included controller or third-party models supplied by licensed manufacturers. No matter which camp you game on, you probably experienced the challenge of snacking while you’re gaming. It doesn’t really interfere with your performance, but it can leave you with the dreaded greasy aftermath. However, it looks like Microsoft has engineered the Xbox One Limited Edition Greaseproof Controller. A snazzy solution to keep our mitts dirty, while our controller remains spotless.

As gamers, we often go for the most convenient types of food. These include crowd-pleasers such as pizza, burgers, chicken, Cheetos, and others. It leaves a disgusting film of grease on our favorite gadgets. That’s why the folks over from the Xbox team introduce a Limited Edition Greaseproof Xbox One controller to put our minds at ease. The humble video game input device has undergone notable innovations ever since the first home console came out. We are now enjoying tech that is wireless and can take a beating.

As much as we want this durable beauty in our hands, it might be a real long shot since there are currently only five in existence. All of them are only available as prizes for a contest held by Microsoft to celebrate the official launch of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on their game system. We can only hope that they eventually decide to produce more in the future.  For now, just expect to see the Xbox One Limited Edition Greaseproof Controller on eBay selling for ridiculous prices—an interesting aspect to it is that we know that collectors will snatch them up anyway.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Switch Pro Controller

Any Super Smash Bros. diehard will wax evangelical about how your chances of winning in combat will ultimately depend on what type of controller you’re using. Many of them swear by the GameCube controller as the best one to use. However, suppose you want to prove them wrong, now’s your chance to do it — with a little bit of flair, at that.

Check out Nintendo‘s special Pro Controller that’s wrapped in a Super Smash Bros. theme. It’s not the best-looking themed controller Nintendo has ever put out, to be clear. That being said, it looks decent enough. You won’t be looking at the controller most of the time, anyway.

Nintendo went with a black, white, and gray color scheme to keep things simple. You get a huge Super Smash Bros. logo emblazoned on the main surface as well. Other than that, it’s basically a standard Switch Pro Controller.

Officially, the accessory is called the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Edition Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, and you can bet we’ll only mention that name once because it’s quite a mouthful. You’ll have a couple ways to nab one. Nintendo is going to sell it as a standalone product or in a bundle. Those of you who’ll go for the latter will get a Special Edition version of the game, which appears to be enclosed in a steelbook casing. It’s not clear what makes this version “special,” though. Maybe it’ll have exclusive in-game additions or characters, but that’s just a wild guess.

On the other hand, you can always just get the standalone Pro Controller, which Nintendo says will begin shipping on Dec. 7, the same day Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches for the Switch.
