Everlane’s Excellent $68 Jeans Now Come in a Lighter Wash

It’s hard for us not to wax just a little rhapsodic about Everlane’s jeans. They’re cut from a versatile 11 oz denim that includes a touch of elastane, so they move with you but don’t feel like yoga pants. They’re put together at Saitex, the world’s cleanest (read: most eco-friendly) denim factory. And at just $68, they’re one of the denim world’s best values.

This week, Everlane is adding a new, lighter wash to its denim program. Called “worn-in indigo,” the faded, lightly whiskered take is available in both slim and skinny cuts. You could buy both of versions for less than you’d spend on a single pair of premium jeans. If you’re looking for a few new pairs to wear this spring, these are definitely up for the job.

You Can Now Buy Kapital Clothing Inspired by Bob Marley

Japanese clothing brand Kapital is known for referencing proponents of peace in its wildly creative designs. T-shirts, caps, bags and bandanas have featured the likeness of Mahatma Gandhi — the Indian activist’s quotes have even been embroidered on one of the brand’s fleece vests. Another range of t-shirts was emblazoned with the phrase “Peace Pilgrim” in a similar font used by the American spiritual teacher of the same name. So it’s no surprise that brand teamed up with the family of Bob Marley to produce a line of clothing inspired by the Jamaican musician. Marley’s focus on nonviolence and revolution through music continues to inspire new generations decades after his death in 1981.

Though Kapital is no stranger to collaborations — notably, designer Kim Jones utilized the brand’s unique boro fabric in his spring 2013 collection for Louis Vuitton — this is the first collection that is so overt in its nature. But the collaboration seems to have developed naturally. Marley’s grandson Skip is a fan of the brand and performed in a custom Kapital jacket at Coachella in April 2018. It was around the same time that Kapital’s designer, Kiro Hirata, met with Skip and his mother Cedella (the CEO of Bob Marley Group of Companies) in Los Angeles.

Both the Marleys and Kapital have been teasing the collecting since last fall, but the brand officially released it on February 3 in Japan. A full range of Kapital’s clothing is notoriously hard to find in North America, but the brand allowed a limited-release of the pieces at H.Lorenzo in Hollywood earlier this month. The 10-piece Bob Marley Talkin’ Blues Champion Sound collection features denim jackets, jeans and tees, among other pieces.

Jeans and coveralls, starting at $599, are embellished with the collection name and come with a custom bandana. T-shirts start at $139 and embroidered shirts cost $669. A standout piece from the collection, both is scope and price, is the hand-distressed Patch Denim Jacket which features a bevy of custom patches, pins and rivets (it retails for $7,295). And while the prices are (not unexpectedly) reflective of the limited availability and collectible nature of these pieces, this collection is a thoughtful and playful homage to a revolutionary man. So if you see something you love and have the cash to spare, don’t wait — these are bound to sell out quickly.

Top 17 Men’s Dress Socks in 2019

S

ocks, not the most exciting of garments to talk about admittedly but at the same time, is there any other type of clothing that can be as annoying when they are of a very poor quality? Other than briefs that are far too tight around the groin area, we cannot think of many!

How many pairs of socks have you owned that have grown holes within a few wears? How many times have your supposedly good quality dress socks fallen down while wearing them? And the sweat, why do low-quality socks make your feet sweat so much? The problem is that as much as socks can be annoying, we still need to wear them unless we want our shoes to take the brunt of the damage and for us to look extremely silly when we sit down.

The good news is that while there are some pretty shocking attempts at sock wear out there, there are some shining lights as well. We have tested more than 100 pairs of socks extensively and have sometimes even smelt them afterward to determine which are the best men’s dress socks in 2019. All of these have passed the appearance, wear and smell test, so you can rest assured we have your sock wear locked down and tuned up!

Generally, we’ve been quite impressed, no not with the smells, but with the quality of socks that are around this year. In true X-Factor style, we had to whittle that 100 pairs down to our favorite 17 and those that you’ll see on our list below are those that have made the cut. Some others did come close and might have lost out to the poor foot hygiene of some of our testers but that is something way out of our control.

So what are you waiting for? Come and check out the very best dress socks for men that you’ll find in 2019!

What are the main benefits of wearing dress socks?

Other than to keep your tootsies warm and snug? Well, dress socks are basically the PC way of saying posh socks for formal wear that barely get seen underneath the suits that are worn above. As for the benefits, well they keep you warm, are comfortable, and make you look a tiny bit smarter than you would do if you were not to wear them.

Well made dress socks will also keep your feet from sweating too much by keeping them dry, will let your legs and feet breathe better, and will generally hide the smell of your smelly feet until your shoes are removed. Seriously though, if you unable to see what the benefits of wearing any socks are, you should perhaps start wearing some so that you do.

Difference between dress socks and regular socks?

As mentioned above, dress socks are designed to be worn when wearing formal or at the least smart casual wear. They are usually at least calf high while you will even find some that are mens over the calf dress socks which look almost like women’s stockings. Regular socks, on the other hand, will be the normal everyday socks that you will wear. Dress socks are designed to be smart to match the smarter attire that you’re wearing while also providing you with good levels of comfort, support, and breathability at the same time.

While dress socks in the main are very conservative in terms and style, you will still find some that will let eccentric personalities act a little rebellious by providing them with some bright and bold designed dress socks that they can hide underneath their boring suits. You know who you are!

What material are dress socks usually made of?

There are actually numerous materials that dress socks can be made of and for those of you that really do wonder what type of material it is that is keeping your little piggies warm, it could be cotton, wool, nylon, spandex or a range of other materials. Manufacturers will choose materials that are either better suited at keeping your feet warm, giving them support, or keeping them from getting too sweaty. Others will choose materials that are easier to clean as well.

Other materials include that of bamboo-type materials that are normally found in socks specifically designed for people that need more comfortable socks rather than purely desire them. This includes people that often have swollen ankles or feet, suffer from excessive sweating, diabetes or other conditions where comfort and care of the feet are paramount. Often overlooked, a comfortable sock can be the difference between a few hours of shuffling, sweating, slipping awkwardness or stylish, warm, supportive sock wear that can be a pleasure to wear.

Are dress socks usually comfortable?

They should be or you should be buying some that are. That being said, comfort is not always the most important consideration when people buy dress socks. Style, design, washability, durability, and many other considerations are made as well. That said, we personally feel that comfort should be one of the main reasons why you buy socks, especially if you’re going to be wearing them all day long. Wearing thin material for 8 hours is only going to be a distraction – cold, damp, sweaty feet do nothing to help you with your focus!

When we say comfort, we do not just mean that they feel comfortable when you put them on either. They should keep your comfortable throughout the day by keeping them dry, letting them breathe and most importantly, releasing them as much as possible from all that smelly sweat build up between our toes!

1) Calvin Klein Cotton Dress Socks

Did you know that Calvin Klein actually manufacture clothing items where you are not meant to display their brand name out from under your jeans? I know, crazy right? Who would have thought that underpants don’t have to be on display! Seriously though, as far as dress socks go, these are right up there. Made from cotton these socks are available in a range of different colors, are known for being very comfortable, have a great fit, and are machine washable to boot. The fit, in particular, is what we like as the 2% lycra spandex in the material really improves the stretch.

These are quite expensive compared to others but you have to remember that you are paying for the quality that Calvin Klein is renowned for. Simply put, if you are looking for durable but comfortable socks to go with your suit, these are certainly one of the better options.  The seamless toe ensures no annoying rubbing feeling that you just can’t fix.

2) Boss Hugo Boss Multistripe Mens Dress Socks

Technically a dress sock is not meant to be seen while at the same time they are there to prevent the potential for a man’s naked hairy leg to be seen. We know, this is quite an old and conservative thing but we are just spouting the facts here. Well, we have moved on in some ways in modern times and so have dress socks which are now moving away from just being bland dark colors.

The Boss Hugo Boss Multistripe Mens Dress Socks is a good example of this as they are available in three different multistriped designs that look and feel great. Stylish without being overly bold, these socks are primarily made from mercerized cotton, have a reinforced heel, and will look great under the suit of your choosing.

They might be a little more expensive than some of the others on our list but when you’re buying from the likes of Hugo Boss, you know you’re going to be getting top quality. These are giving you style and comfort at the same time – it would be awesome if Hugo Boss could diversity the variations on offer though.

3) GoldToe Premium Men’s Canterbury Dress Socks

Good quality socks do not have to come with a top-end fashion name such as Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss and the GoldToe Premium Men’s Canterbury Dress Socks go some way to proving this. Coming in at the lowest price of our recommended dress socks so far, these are made of a combination of cotton, stretch nylon, and spandex which all give an end result of comfort and a perfect fit.

As for the features of these socks, they utilize AquaFX Moisture Control which keeps your feet nice and dry and a reinforced toe and heel that just enhances their overall comfort levels. You’ll also have a nice choice in terms of colors with everything from your standard dark colors right down to tan and khaki.  Combined with their excellent value for money, you can’t go far wrong with these comfortable socks.  Just be aware that over time they can drop.

Like GoldToe socks but are not overly keen on these ones? Then carry on reading as we have some more from these guys coming up a little later on in our list.

4) Dockers Dress Flat Knit Crew Socks

Dockers are another brand that is well known for creating extremely comfortable and durable dress socks for men and their Flat Knit Crew Socks are among their most popular with customers. How many times have you bought dress socks only to find holes in them after just a few times wearing them? With Dockers, you just know that you are getting a quality-made product that lasts as well as being a good fit and comfortable.  There’s nothing worse than feeling that toe starting to poke out at midday when you are still five hours from the finish line!

These socks are made of a good combination of polyester, cotton, and spandex which ensures a snug fit that contours to your foot and leg and rarely drops. These are not quite as stylish as men’s designer dress socks but are more than good enough to be used under your suit at work. In fact, we recommend you buy a few of them so that you have more than enough to last you through the week – turning them inside out is not going to work in this scenario!  A few more color options would have been great from Dockers on these.

5) Goodthreads Patterned Dress Socks

Quality dress socks do not have to come with a world-renowned brand name as who in the hell is even going to know that you are wearing Armani socks in the first place (unless the next fashion trend is to tuck trousers into branded socks – and we hope that’s not coming anytime soon)? However, while leading brand names are more expensive, they do usually offer far more quality in terms of design and quality. With Goodthreads patterned socks you are still getting decent quality and designs that are, well eye-catching to say the least.

From colorful stripes, polka dots, and even animals these comfortable dress socks have certainly been designed for the bravest of men out there. They are machine washable, have a nice fit, and have reinforced heels and toes as well as ribbed cuffs to enhance an already high level of comfort.

Sold in packs of five at a great price, these are certainly some of the best men’s dress socks for those of you that like to save a bit of money in the sock department.  They have been reported to be a bit on the thin side, so you would need to decide if these are the socks you are looking for.

6) Dockers Argyle Dress Socks

Product Description

This is the second Dockers dress sock to make our list and much like the first, these are a great option to have when wearing your smart attire. With a stylish design that is not too bold, the Dockers Argyle Dress Socks would be an ideal sock to wear to work, weddings or any formal get together.

As for the quality of the socks, they are made from a good cotton and polyester blend that makes them extremely breathable and they have a number of comfort features that allow them to stand out from their competitors. These include being non-binding which means there is no elastic band at the top which can prevent circulation and having what we call a Viagra non-slip feature which means you can be confident that they stay up at all times.   Reportedly a little “over-snug”, make sure you check the shoe-size you need.

Last but not least, Dockers is a brand that is known for delivering quality at an affordable price and this is once again the case with these cool men’s dress socks.

9) Bombas Solid Dress Socks

No matter who you are, once you have read the twin reasons why Bombas socks were founded you will instantly become a fan. Firstly, they wanted to bridge the gap between the cheapo multipacks of socks and the high-end men’s designer socks currently on the market by developing a superb quality sock that is more affordable. Secondly, they wanted to help the homeless with a shortage on the most requested item of clothing for homeless people.

They address the second by donating a pair of their socks to the homeless for each pair that they sell. Amazing stuff we are sure you will agree. In fact, since their inception in 2013, Bombas has donated a close to 9 million pairs of socks.  This could be a selling point on it’s own if you are wanting to help make a difference.

As for the socks themselves, they are exceptional in our opinion. They are made from high-quality materials and make use of some fantastic technology such as a honeycomb arch support system, Y-stitched heel, sure-fit cut, and stay-up technology among others. Simply put, if you have not tried on a pair of Bombas socks, you really are missing out – as is a homeless person!

We say fair to play to those that dare to be bold and bright in a world of dullness and with these well-designed and highly comfortable dress socks, they can shine brighter than ever – even though it might be underneath their pants.

These socks are made in the USA are primarily cotton-based and they actually have an exemplary reputation compared to other men’s dress socks on Amazon. 11) Yomandamor Bamboo Diabetic Dress Socks

Designed for the elderly or those that  suffer from foot or joint conditions or diabetes, the Yomandamor Bamboo Diabetic Dress Socks are made from a bamboo material that is known for being more breathable, not too tight, and can be stretched more easily over swollen legs and feet.

Comfort is the ultimate goal with these socks and we love how they the material deals with any sweat effectively and thus keeping the feet dry. Another feature is that they do not have a binding top which is said to reduce the risk of infection or blistering when worn.

In terms of the design, these are essentially neutral colors in the main but they still look good. Still, dress socks are not meant to be seen anyway and when you consider the price you are paying, this is not an issue. On top of that, they claim that they will send you another pair of their socks if you have any complaint at all!

13) Alexander McQueen Skull Socks

Among the more expensive men’s designer dress socks on our list is certainly these Alexander McQueen Skull Socks. This brand is synonymous with British fashion and while many of you will not be happy paying this sort of money for a single pair of socks, those of you that like to think you’re at the forefront of fashion will certainly contemplate it once you have seen them.

Massively stylish, these ultra-dry cotton-knit socks have inherited the gothic signature design of many of the British fashion labels pieces. None of this is at the expense of comfort, however, as the luxury materials have been used alongside quality manufacturing techniques in order to bring a soft, durable, and aesthetically pleasing dress sock to be used at the most formal of occasions.

They will not be for everybody of course but if you have the cash to flash and a special occasion to go to – why not? Of course, if you’re not inclined to spend anywhere near that sort of money on dress socks, our list certainly offers up plenty of cheaper options for you to consider.

14) Richer Poorer Wright Socks

It would be extremely difficult to put together any list of the best men’s dress socks together without including the Richer Poorer Wright Socks on them. Why? Well apart from how great they look and the obviously high-quality workmanship that has gone into each and every pair made, they are about as sustainable a pair of socks that you will find.

That’s right folks, you can do your bit for the environment by simply choosing this stylish and comfortable pair of socks! 15) GoldToe Over the Calf Canterbury Dress Socks

These over the calf Canterbury dress socks are the second product we have listed here from GoldToe and there is a very good reason for this – they absolutely rock! In our opinion, these are some of the best socks on our list when it comes to being a solid all-rounder. They are affordably priced, are made by a company that has been in business for 80 years, and essentially, the socks are of a high quality and extremely comfortable.

We know that many of you’ll probably want to avoid over the calf socks as they are a bit long but those of you that like to keep your knees warm is going to love them. Made from hand-selected yarn, these socks are available in three different colors and while the style is a little bland, they do everything else that is asked of them to high standards.

Definitely suited to those of you that work in colder climates, these dress socks will keep your feet, toes, and even half of your leg that little bit warmer during the winter months.

16) Todd Snyder Corgi Dress Socks

Todd Snyder is another brand name that we like when it comes to good quality men’s dress socks simply because you can always guarantee that they are of top quality. What we particularly like about their Corgi Lightweight Socks is that they are made of a combination of wool and nylon. This means that they are ideal for the autumn and winter months when normal dress socks are simply not up to the job.

You can say goodbye to frozen toes and hello to crispy warm foot fingers wrapped up nice and snug in some of the most comfortable socks that you’re likely to wear. They look great too and will not cost the earth either. According to reviews they really fit well too, so they are not relying on simply keeping you warm.

If you’ve been on the hunt for some toe warming socks that you can wear under your suit, these are definitely some of the first that you should try out.

17) Easton Marlowe Colorful Patterned Dress Socks

We highly doubt that you are going to see any men’s dress socks as colorful as these from Easton Marlon. In fact, their title of Colorful Patterned Dress Socks does them a bit of a disservice as they are eye-blindingly colorful at the best of times. Still, we love them for it as it gets a little bit boring wearing the same bland colors to work every day of the week.

Design and colors aside, these affordable socks are actually of very good quality. They are made primarily of finely combed cotton which allows them to be incredibly soft to the touch, fit very well and rarely fall down, and will have each been pre-washed before being put up for sale. The latter is so that it prevents any shrinkage when you indeed decide to wash them for the first time.

In our opinion, you cannot do better than a pair of these if you’re looking for something with a bit more personality for your next pair of dress socks!

Nike Gyakusou 2019 Collection

The Nike Gyakusou collection for Spring 2019 is finally here. Three colorways make up this season’s new batch, all coming out February 28.

Nike and Jun Takahashi have been working ten years strong to bring us these off-kilter sneakers, so you’ll find some of the usual elements are still here.

As such, much like the previous iterations, the new lineup fuses high-performance wear with the urban landscape. The colorways feature predominantly earthy colors, and that’s care of Takahashi.

“I intentionally include earthy colors. It is important to bring together my aesthetics with Nike’s functionality,” said the Japanese fashion designer.

It’s all about fluid functionality for this new lineup. Nike and Takahashi continue to pair their expertise to produce new apparel advances. These include packable garments and pieces formed through body-map engineering and the sneakers themselves.

There’s a jacket, for instance, called the Transform JKT, that unzips from the front and stuffs the top part into a pocket. The Gyakusou version features a lightweight woven outer that protects runners from wind and rain. The soft Dri-Fit version, on the other hand, wicks sweat. There’s also the Lightweight JKT, which integrates skin temperature maps to ensure properly placed laser cut holes for maximum breathability.

The collection also includes new men’s tights and women’s shorts, which are made of a new material. Nike and Takahashi used scientifically-informed knit that not only reduces seams but also brings targeted compression to more vulnerable areas. All these, along with the sneakers, come out February 28.

Why Adidas’ Latest Sneaker Is Already Re-Selling for Almost Twice the Price

Released on Saturday, February 9th, the colorful Adidas ZX 4000 4D is not an entirely new sneaker. The chunky, everyday ZX 4000 came out in 1989. What’s new, and the reason this $350 retail sneaker is likely to sell for twice that on re-selling sites, is the sole.

The 2019 version of the ZX 4000 is fitted with what Adidas hopes is the heir to its world-beating Boost tech — the Futurecraft 4D midsole. Made through a process called digital light synthesis (basically an upgraded version of 3D printing), the 4D soles are airy, bouncy and lightweight. This is one of a very small selection of shoes to feature such technology.

Beyond the hyped midsole, the new version of the shoe changes the colorway, is cut a bit slimmer and trades a nylon upper for a Primeknit upper (it keeps the perforated suede detailing). The ZX 4000 4D is sold out on every retail site it became available on, but can be found on re-selling sites like StockX and Ebay for about $500.

Work Pants Made From Ultra-Durable Tuff Duck

Tuff Duck sounds like it should be a Looney Tunes character, not a super durable fabric. And yet it’s not hamming it up with Sylvester or Bugs Bunny.

It’s in Taylor Stitch’s workshop where it’s turned into a pair of incredibly comfortable and reliable Tuff Duck work pants. The San Francisco apparel brand just released an entire collection of work pants made from this material.

Tuff Duck is a combination of hemp, organic cotton, recycled polyester, and a drop of spandex. The result is an incredibly durable fabric that’s also very comfortable from the first wear.

Since Tuff Duck is primarily hemp, it’s super strong and more abrasion-resistant. Plus, the fabric is ultimately much better for the environment than conventional all-cotton options. Taylor Stitch made no sacrifice on comfort and mobility. The pants will soften with wear, are breathable, and will move with you.

There are two Tuff Duck pants styles to choose from: The Camp, and The Chore. Each come in two colorways: Dark Olive and British Khaki. But all share the same core style. There are two angled front slash pockets, plus two back patch pockets for good measure. Both are bar-tacked at stress points. You’ll also find a button-fly closure.

Sizes range from 28 to 38, with a pre-sale price of $98. Regular pricing is set at $128, so take advantage of the discount while you can. A percentage of sales goes to the Golden Gate National Park Conservancy, by the way.

Wear Tuff Duck pants whether you’re out in the field or in a boardroom — people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

Withings Steel HR Sport Smartwatch

Withings makes solid fitness trackers wrapped in luxury smartwatch flare, and the Steel HR Sport is no exception. This hybrid might not have all the bells and whistles of an all-in-one smart tracker, but it’s got the basics pretty much covered and a pretty slick design.

In terms of design, the Steel HR Sport is just the perfect size. It’s got some heft to it, but not to the point of being unwieldy. That’s important because this is something that’ll stay on your wrist for the better part of the day.

It sports a 40mm case made of stainless steel with a black bezel. You can choose a black or white watch face in the center. It looks and feels premium but not in a way that’s too tantalizing and show-offy. This is much more understated compared to some other options on the market.

The Steel HR Sport features multi-sport tracking. It’s can show your workout duration, calories burned, and continuous heart rate. There’s even a detailed breakdown of time spent in heart rate zones (light, moderate, intense & peak) right in the Health Mate app.

Workout mode offers 30 different sports to choose from, offering a wide variety. But in case you forget to set it up, the software can automatically recognize some workouts and shift gears accordingly.

At $200, the Steel HR Sport is one of the less pocket-friendly hybrid smartwatches out there. Withings struck the perfect balance between fitness and luxury here, then skillfully crammed it into a pleasant-looking analog package. If that appeals to you at all, maybe give it a second thought.

The 7 Best Moisturizers for Combination Skin

Those with combination skin know the difficulty of finding a moisturizer that works. Because some areas of the face are too dry and others are oily, many basic moisturizers can leave the T-zone prone to breakouts. So it’s important that one finds a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer which won’t clog the pores.

Then, focus on technique. Start by moisturizing only the dry areas, leaving the T-zone without moisturizer. For some people, a lightweight moisturizer like this will be enough to keep the skin hydrated after using a cleanser and applying toner. Another option, depending on how oily your skin appears, is to use two moisturizers: a lighter moisturizer for the T-zone and a thicker cream for the cheeks and dry areas.

If you’re in need of one to get you started, we compiled a list of seven great options for people with combination skin below.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture

This lightweight moisturizer is specifically designed for combination skin. The fragrance-free formula moisturizes dry areas while controlling shine in the T-zone, delivering a natural matte finish. It comes highly recommended by dermatologists and also happens to be the the most affordable (and easy to procure) options on the market.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer

This oil-free moisturizer is fragrance-free, paraben-free and non-comedogenic. It contains a high concentration of Prebiotic Thermal Water to help you skin retain a healthy microbiome. Along with the positive aspects of prebiotics, it utilizes ceramide-3, niacinamide and glycerin to ensure nourished and protected skin.

Kiehl’s Ultra Face Cream

This lightweight face cream was inspired by the brand’s “Greenland First Ascent” Ultra Facial Cream. To keep the skin balanced and hydrated, the cream utilizes Antarcticine (a glycoprotein that can withstand extreme cold), fountain plant to help the skin maintain its natural moisture reserves and squalane to help keep the skin soft and supple.

Anthony Oil Free Facial Lotion

Anthony takes a three-pronged approach to its lightweight facial lotion. It uses sodium PCA to keep your face hydrated, aloe and chamomile to soothe irritation and glycerin to retain moisture. It is fragrance free and also works with oily skin.

EltaMD PM Therapy Facial Moisturizer

Appropriate for morning or evening use, this lightweight moisturizer is loaded with ceramides to help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and peptides to stimulate cell growth and collagen formation. The addition of niacinamide and antioxidants will help skin tone and texture over time.

Boscia Green Tea Oil-free Moisturizer

As the name suggests, this oil-controlling moisturizer is infused with Japanese green tea which helps reduce sebum production while delivering antioxidants to the skin. Burdock root helps absorb excess oil giving the skin a matte finish through the day and additional antioxidant-rich ingredients like marine complex and wine yeast extract help protect against free-radical damage.

Aesop In Two Minds Facial Hydrator

This rapidly absorbing formula delivers hydration with a matte finish. The woody-scented hydrator features witch hazel to soothe skin, sandalwood for its antibacterial properties and andiroba seed to calm and hydrate the skin. Simply apply two pumps of the product into your hand and apply to the face and neck after using cleanser and toner.

CH1 GTX Hunting Boots By Under Armour And Cam Hanes

Who better to make tough-as-nails gear than Under Armour, already a trusted name in stylish and durable essentials?

And create it did, with the help of bowhunting expert Cam Hanes. The result is a pair of smartly designed kicks as robust and unwavering as the sport its for.

Hunting is, of course, not for the faint of heart. It requires you be present at all times, with heightened senses and a keen grasp of your space. That’s not going to happen if your shoes suck. You’ll only end up distracted and uncomfortable. That’s exactly what the CH1 GTX Hunting Boots address, helping even neophytes get into the right headspace for their backcountry digs.

Under Armour and hanes spent three years working on the CH1 GTX. They needed that amount of time to stitch everything together and make sure every inclusion has a purpose. You’ll find Gore-Tex membrane on the footwear’s construction, plus a vapor-permeable mesh and Cordura polyamide for optimum performance while you’re and about scouring for beasts.

An integrated two-zone BOA lacing system comes standard, as well as anatomical insoles with double-density EVA foam for maximum comfort while trudging the great outdoors. Needless to say that these boots are made not just for walking, but for all kinds of heavy-duty action. Hanes himself had worn it while taking down one of his largest backcountry bulls to date. That’s basically the ultimate stamp of approval right there.

Under Armour will release the CH1 GTX Hunting Boots this summer for $300 a pair.

15 Stylish Valentine’s Day Gifts for the Well-Dressed Man in Your life

Finding a present for the most stylish guy you know can be challenging no matter what the gift-giving occasion, but it can get even tougher around Valentine’s Day. How do you express your love and admiration while staying on trend? How can you be sure the gift you’re getting isn’t a carbon copy of something that he’s already ordered from Mr Porter — or worse, something that he’d never consider wearing or using?

The key to avoiding all of these potential Valentine’s gift-giving pitfalls is to reach for updated versions of classics that he’d be sure to love in their platonic form. From luggage in striking colors to one-of-a-kind clothing that won’t break the bank, we’ve assembled 15 gifts that’ll do just that below.

AMI Oversized Logo-Intarsia Knitted Sweater

Swerve around the hackneyed red heart-printed boxers that have decorated the popular imagination’s vision of Valentine’s Day for what feels like an eternity, and reach for this sweater from AMI instead. Not only is it not rouge or pink, but it also puts the French brand’s eye-catching logo on clever display.

Away The Carry-On Suitcase

If you’d travel to the ends of the earth for this guy, it makes sense to get him a bag that’ll survive the trip. Away’s collaboration with Nordstrom brought a handful of new colors to its lineup of battle-proof rollers, and this crisply colorful variant will save a ton of confusion at baggage claim if you ever have to check it.

Nike Air Max 270

Last year we extolled the virtues of the Nike Air Max 270. And although Nike just released the 270’s heir apparent, the 720 (which already sold out on Nike’s website), the 270 holds a special versatility, an undeniable je ne sais quois that lands it squarely on our list of stylish, giftable items. These shoes are flashy, comfortable and they look great no matter what else you’re wearing — what’s not to love?

M. Cohen The Match Bangle

You can’t call a lot of bangles clever, but this one from M. Cohen definitely fits that description. It looks like a match got bent around your wrist — and what better totem for the person who, uh, lights your fire?

Bleu de Chauffe Charles Full-Grain Leather Briefcase

If you’re shopping for someone who’s stylish and hardworking, get him a professional-level bag that fits both bills. This briefcase from the French leather experts at Bleu de Chauffe references the style of classic doctor’s bags but doesn’t look or feel quite as serious.

Nice Laundry Annual Sock Drawer Subscription

It’s hard to find a guy who doesn’t have one or two pairs of threadbare socks in his active sock rotation — even one who cares about all the other elements of his personal style. Which is why Nice Laundry’s annual sock drawer subscription makes sense for a wide array of guys. It comes with a total of 19 pairs of socks (16 dress, two no-shows and one special edition), and gets delivered every year so he never has to worry about replacing them.

Grooming Lounge Build-a-Shave Set

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of a great shave, but so many of the razor sets on the market don’t allow for any customization of individual components. If you’re shopping for someone who shaves often, send him this link and hand him your credit card. He can use Grooming Lounge’s Build-a-Shave Set tool to get exactly what he needs — and nothing he doesn’t.

Caldera Lab The Good Serum

We can’t say enough good things about this serum. It’s made in Jackson Hole, Wyoming from painstakingly sourced natural ingredients like sage, meadowfoam seed oil, nettle and elderflower. Designed to be worn at night, the serum delivers on its promise of brightening and tightening the skin on your face. We’ve been recommending it to anyone who will listen since we started testing it earlier this year.

Lyle Lovett for Hamilton Striped Shirt

Lyle Lovett’s collaboration with Hamilton has yielded some of the most stylish Western-style shirts a guy can wear. This one blends traditional markers of the style with a pattern that’ll be easy for a stylish guy to fit into his wardrobe.

Gear Patrol x American Trench Cap

It’s still cold out there, and not to get too Stark about it but eventually, winter will be coming again. Which is why a beanie is a good gift now, but also no matter what time of year you’re shopping for a guy you care about.

Levi’s Premium 501 Slim Taper

Levi’s last great iteration of the traditional 501, the 501CT, has since been replaced by the new 501 Slim Taper. They’re the most classic pair of jeans a man can get, slimmed down and modernized for today.

Michael Kors Henry Suede Billfold Wallet

Stylish guys have gone from massive, overstuffed wallets to slim, no-cash card carriers and have arrived at the platonic ideal: a slim billfold. This one from Michael Kors features a rich, deep color, and an even richer, deeper suede material.

R.M. Williams Comfort Turnout Boots

Australian’s Chelsea boot king R.M. Williams makes some of the most stylish (and longest-lasting) boots a guy can wear. So you might want to tread carefully when giving these, lest the boots last longer than the relationship you’re in right now.

Rowing Blazer End-of-the-Day Rugby Shirt

Rowing Blazer’s true-to-the-originals rugby shirts and preppy staples are stellar in their own right, but their hyper-limited edition End-of-the-Day shirts, which use scraps of different leftover patterns to minimize waste, are truly unique — just like the guy you’re shopping for.

L:a Bruket Black Oak Candle

Sweden’s answer to Aesop doesn’t just make some of the best grooming and skincare supplies on the planet. It also makes candles that share the same spirit as those products: earthy, luxurious and derived from natural ingredients. The organic soy wax in this candle smells like cashmere wood and birch, which is calming and more than a little sensual at the same time.

The 7 Best Toners for Combination Skin

Combination skin can be deceptively tricky to care for. The presence of both oily and dry skin on the face requires a little extra effort when planning a skincare routine. But, the right products can make a world of difference. After using a gentle cleanser and before using a moisturizer, one can use a toner to further cleanse and care for the skin.

Toners effectively cleanse pores and remove residual oil while also hydrating and treating the skin. The fast-penetrating formulas are able to deliver a strong hit of antioxidants and also balance the skin’s naturally acidic pH level. For combination skin, look for toners that are rich in antioxidants and hydrating compounds — this will benefit those drier areas on your face. If you’re looking for a place to start, we found the seven best toners to use for combination skin.

The Seberg By Jacques Marie Mage

If you’re on the market for a new frame that’s fancier than your current pair of shades, look no further than the Seberg.

The latest from luxury eyewear manufacturer Jacques Marie Mage comes as yet another testament to its unrivaled attention to detail. The company’s unparalleled craftsmanship shines through in this beta titanium frame.

The Seberg is the namesake of Jean Seberg, who starred in Breathless, one of the most iconic French New Wave staples. Like the 1960 Jean-Luc Godard picture, the Seberg is elegant, delicate, and intricately made. Jacques Marie Mage picked the perfect name for its new frame. Hopefully Masculin Féminin or perhaps even Pierrot le Fou make the cut in the company’s next brainstorming session. Why stop there, though? The eyewear maker might as well lift inspiration from a few François Truffaut films while it’s at it.

Anyhow, more about the frame. You’re looking at a ’50s-inspired silhouette that’s modernized with titanium. The result is a nuanced combination of the past and present. Other impressive details, such as the 4mm rim wires and the monoblock titanium hinge construction, take the spectacles away from conventional luxury tropes and put them in a category like no other. The sculptural brow bar is a nice touch that brings the entire look together.

For shades, shelling out $895 is no doubt a bit too much. But not if you want your frame to be as incandescent, iconic, and timeless as the film upon which it’s based. Check your fit and sizing on Jacques Marie Mage’s website now.

The 7 Best Cleansers for Combination Skin

If you have combination skin, you’re no stranger to compromise. Because parts of your face are oily while others are drier, a straight-ahead skincare routine is hardly effective. But, between balancing different products and utilizing the right techniques, you can keep the skin on your face happy with minimal hassle.

A core focus should be cleansing — twice a day — to help reduce oil and remove impurities. For combination skin, find a gentle but effective cleanser that isn’t overly harsh. Foaming cleansers are generally effective in this category, and one should stay away from cleansing lotions which are formulated for dry skin.

When washing your face, the technique is vital as not to irritate the areas that are prone to dryness. Focus on the T-zone and be increasingly gentle with the cheeks and dry areas (you may even opt to just let water with cleanser run over these areas). If you haven’t found a cleanser that works for you, below are seven ideal for people with combination skin worth checking out.

Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser

This gentle foaming cleanser is fragrance-free, non-irritating and non-comedogenic (so it won’t clog your pores). Infused with skin conditioners and a vitamin complex, it helps soften without stripping your skin of it’s natural moisture balance. It’s also one of the best values and a cleanser you’ll readily find at many drug stores across the country.

Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

Designed for people with combination skin, this gentle cleanser is formulated with broad leaf kelp extract, wheat protein and tourmaline to help inhibit excess oil production without drying the skin. It has a pleasant scent of bergamot, spearmint and lavender. The cleanser achieves a light lather without the need of a pump.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser

This fragrance-free cleanser offers a 3-in-1 approch to washing your face. It gently removes excess oil and impurities, it tones and it adds hydration with natural oil extracts. Sodium lauroamphoacetate cleanses the skin without irritation and sodium trideceth sulfate pulls dirt and debris from the skin while Meadowfoam seed oil hydrates. A blend of rosewood, sandalwood and sage essential oils help soften and rejuvenate the skin.

Ren Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser

This clay-based cleanser can help manage acne-prone oily T-zone areas without overly drying other areas. It uses kaolin clay to draw out excess oil and impurties, willow bark extract to minimize the appearance of pores and mayblossom extract to even your skintone. One pump will leave your skin softer, smoother and fortified against future breakouts.

Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser

This fragrance-free cleanser is ideal for those with sensitive skin. It gently removes dirt and excess oil from the face without stripping the skin of natural oils. Hypoallergenic, it is formulated with alpha hydroxy acid, green tea extract and vitamin E to leave your skin refreshed and smoothed.

Klavuu Pure Pearlsation Cleansing Oil

One pump of this vanilla-scented oil cleanser will remove oil-based impurties gently and quickly. Kalvuu utilizes pearl extracts in its products, and this one is also formulated with safflower oils, jojoba seed oil and macadamia seed oil. All that to say: it cleanses your pores and helps brighten the skin without causing dryness.

Aesop In Two Minds Facial Cleanser

Designed specifically for combination skin, this cleanser removes impurities without drying the skin or stripping away natural oils. The fresh green scented gel features witch hazel, salicylic acid and sage leaf to the skin purified and soft. Just a half-teaspoon is all that’s necessary to effectively cleanse your face.

Carhartt X Hurley Collection

Some collaborations just don’t make sense until they actually happen. Then you go, “Wow, who knew they’d be perfect together?” Carhartt and Hurley scheming up a new clothing collection is the perfect example of this.

Although the two brands both make purpose-built gear, they couldn’t be more different. Carhartt makes workwear apparel like overalls; Hurley makes surfwear, or basically anything you’d need to wear wading in water.

But thankfully Carhartt and Hurley both found an overlap between their brands and decided to make an entire collection out of it. Thus comes the four-season Hurley x Carhartt product collaboration, designed to support hardworking individuals whose lives revolve mostly around water.

For spring, the Carhartt and Hurley plan to release nine styles, including men’s and women’s pieces. This includes a jacket, pullover, beanie, and shorts for men. Women, on the other hand, will be able to choose between a jacket and a long-sleeved T-shirt. Being a four-season collection, this means more choices will arrive as the year progresses.

As such, the two brands will come out with more pieces as the seasons change. We’re talking a wide range of styles. Like hooded pullovers, ball caps, graphic tees, and more jackets. Carhartt and Hurley have also launched a campaign to help provide clothes that will help people #OutworkTheWater.

The collection is available at Hurley’s website. Pricing ranges from $18 to $100 for men’s pieces and $18 to $60 for women’s pieces. You can check out some of the pieces below and learn more about the collaboration by visiting Carhartt’s website.

The Casio MRGG2000RJ-2A Is A Samurai-Inspired Luxury Timepiece

Talking about top-tier wristwatches, it’s easy to overlook other brands that might have something exclusive to offer. For example, we immediately associate Casio with its G-Shock and Pro Trek series of timepieces. That’s because these models are some of its most popular products and the outstanding durability is remarkable. However, we want to remind everyone that the Japanese watchmaker produces a lineup of luxury-grade timekeepers as well. One such item that earns the spotlight is the upcoming Casio MRGG2000RJ-2A and it’s an absolute looker.

The company reveals that it is a limited-edition release for its MR-G label and features unique materials. It appears to be a follow-up model to their samurai-inspired MRG-G1000B-1A4 Akazonae and oozes the same vibe through its design. In order to withstand all the abuse that you throw at it, the watch uses titanium for the case, clasp, and back cover. Moreover, Casio claims that the material goes through an innovative hardening treatment that makes it five times more durable than before. The dial sits under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Meanwhile, the inner coating of the lens ensures optimal readability and clarity.

What makes the Casio MRGG2000RJ-2A stand out from its brethren is the one-of-a-kind bezel. The elegant purple finish is the result of its Arc Ion Plating (AIP) process that gives it the color. Additionally, a mix of Murasaki-gane and Cobarion make the bezel two to three times tougher than steel. You can also check out the case back which features a special inscription engraved by Teruhira Kamiyama, a well-known Japanese bladesmith.

Puma FI Self-Lacing Sneakers

Puma joins the self-lacing sneaker bandwagon with its very own Puma FI. Taking directly on Nike’s HyperAdapt, Puma’s kicks are the first pair out of its technology platform Fit Intelligence.

That department is tasked with automating and improving how Puma’s shoes fit, and they’ve created a motorized sneaker highly similar to the Adapt BB sneakers Nike launched earlier this month. Puma’s new high-tech kicks won’t be available until spring 2020, but a select will get the chance to beta test it.

“The product is working, we’ve got it functional but we really want to have some additional learning before we bring it to market,” according to Charles Johnson, global director of innovation at Puma.

Unlike the Adapt BB, the Puma FI doesn’t automatically tighten upon wearing. Instead, it features a swipe-activated motor on the tongue that then triggers the laces to buckle up. It’s not as whiz-bang as Nike’s pair, but it still sounds pretty rad.

There’s even a companion smartphone app that would allow wearers to control the shoes directly. Swiping up tightens the laces. Swiping down loosens them. They feature built-in Bluetooth, allowing them to be paired with other devices like smartphones.

There’s also a hidden battery underneath that powers the motor. When it runs out, you place the hoes on a wireless charging plate. It tops up after an hour and will last a week on a single charge.

The shoes will retail for $330 once they come out in early 2020, undercutting Nike’s $350 sneakers, which come out later this February.

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Tag Heuer Edition

Most of you probably agree that when it comes to the automotive industry the occasional surprise can be quite exciting. We already know that unless a certain model drops in popularity, you can expect a refresh to come out annually. Yet, there are times when carmakers just want to give us something a little extra to break the monotony. Thankfully, 2019 looks to be a great year for gearheads like us to witness the announcement of something exclusive. Let’s welcome the arrival of the stunning Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Tag Heuer Edition.

Collaborations between various brands are usually a hit-or-miss affair, but this ebony beauty is absolutely gorgeous. In fact, the paint job alone is enough to give us goosebumps thinking about what else is in store for buyers. The mostly-black color scheme pairs subtle contrasts of red accents distributed around the supercar. You will find it on the brake calipers, on various components within the cabin, and even on the sidewalls on each of its Pirelli Color Edition rubbers. Moreover, you can pick out some Tag Heuer emblems that bear the same shade as the accents.

Other than its stealthy aesthetic, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Tag Heuer Edition retains the stock model’s specifications. You still experience the same 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that outputs 735 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. It goes from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and boasts a top speed of 211 mph. Only 50 units of this exclusive beauty will be on offer and come with a Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre Heuer 01 Aston Martin timepiece.
