Nike Fit AR Measurement Tool

You’ve been a sneakerhead long enough if you know that Nike’s sizes are often inconsistent, varying from one model to the next. Say you’re an 8.5 with Air Max. That might be a 9 with its EQTs. So on, and so forth. Worse yet, other brands lie about shoe sizes, which means the best way to buy a pair of kicks is to actually go to a store and try them out for yourself.

But not everyone has time to do that. To help you look for sneakers that fit online, Nike is going to launch a new measurement tool. Featuring augmented reality, that is. Nike Fit uses computer vision, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and recommendation algorithms to determine the size, shape, and volume of your feet.

The app will nail down your foot size down to the millimeter, too, and it’ll accurately measure each foot individually. Then it’ll suggest the specific size of Nike shoe for the style you want. Nike Fit matches your measurements to the internal volume already known for each of its shoes. It also takes into account purchase data of people with similar feet sizes.

This isn’t a one-time, buzz-generating marketic tactic, either. Nike is pretty confident that Nike Fit is accurate, which is why it’s integrating it into its main app as a primary measurement tool. Nike will be using it at stores as well.

Nike Fit will be rolling out in Nike’s official app in July, but only in the United States. The Swoosh brand has plans to bring the feature to Europe later on, though.

Marvel Thanos Gauntlet Pendant

For those of you who already watched Avengers: Endgame, the epic scale of the movie sticks with you for a while. Long-time fans and newbies alike reportedly loved every second of the three-hour film. Other than the cast of wonderful heroes and villains, nothing is more iconic than the awesome power of each one of the Infinity Stones.

To collectively harness all of that power, the main villain uses a one-of-a-kind gauntlet. We all saw the damage it did in the film’s first installment, and now you can grab a replica of your own. That’s right, ThinkGeek is offering this exciting memorabilia, albeit in a smaller package. The Marvel Thanos Gauntlet pendant is an exclusive item that fans would love to add to their collection.

Keep it in a display case for posterity or proudly wear it around your neck in geeky fashion. The set includes a 22-inch chain necklace to hold the pendant. We can see the amazing work that went into its production. The level of craftsmanship is on another level as each of the Infinity stones are carefully detailed. Even the intricate patterns on the gauntlet look amazing.

This officially licensed item is fashioned from stainless steel with gold ion-plating. We think it’s a perfect gift to give to someone you know who loves the series. You can purchase the Marvel Thanos Gauntlet now for $39.99 and we suggest that you do so quickly. The Adidas Futurecraft Loop Is A Fully-Recyclable Running Shoe

The sad fact remains that a lot of people still find the concept of recycling foreign. A large number of countries struggle to control the growing amount of waste that ends up in landfills. That’s why it’s great to see some companies take the initiative to create products that source recyclable materials. We recently featured a Bluetooth speaker with a shell made out of plastic bags. There’s also a high-end wristwatch that reuses PET for its strap. The possibilities are practically endless and that’s why the Adidas Futurecraft Loop is another brilliant step in the right direction.

Our biggest challenge is coming up with new ways to repurpose non-biodegradable trash. Normally, these are either buried, burned, or just end in landfills or the bodies of water. The German sportswear company is introducing its first footwear that uses fully-recyclable materials in its construction. Moreover, the Futurcraft Loop is a running shoe, which will all know will eventually wear out from all the abuse. Hence, its an impressive solution to reduce waste every component of the shoe can be reused.

According to Adidas, all of the different parts of the shoe are made of TPU. Each component just undergoes a unique manufacturing method to make it rigid or flexible. Moreover, it’s surprising to discover the Adidas Futurecraft Loop does not use any type of glue. Instead, it undergoes a special heating process that bonds everything together. For its initial rollout, the company is planning to produce 200 examples only. All of the prototypes will be handed out to runners to get feedback regarding its performance. We might see it eventually hit retailers sometime in 2021.

How ’70s Rock Climbing Is Defining Style Today

In the 1970s rock climbing was on the cusp of something. While the U.S. was still reeling from the turbulent 1960s, the first issue of Climbing magazine hit a handful of outdoor stores. The sport was gaining popularity and recognition. And over the following decades, it grew incredibly — now, climbing walls occupy floor space in countless gyms and outdoor shops. But before global recognition and award-winning documentaries, climbers were a scrappy subculture making do with what they could.

Preceding the creation of brands like Patagonia and fabrics like Gore-Tex, the climbers of the ’70s — and before — had to make their own kits. Local army surplus stores and thrift stores were the main suppliers for climbers in those days. As such, the styles that emerged from the fledgling decades of climbing were distinct and, interestingly enough, wouldn’t look at out of place on the street today.

“The majority of Americans participating in outdoor sports actually had to get the clothing they needed from either department stores or from army surplus stores.”

Climbers’ fits prioritized functionality over anything else. “The use of a lot of military goods, workwear and even rugby shirts in climbing speak to the particular rigors you encounter climbing,” says Dr. Rachel Gross, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Montana and historian of American outdoor clothing and gear. While the physical rigors of climbing can be compared to those in battle or manual labor, the sport does have some unique strains. “There is very little opportunity to adjust clothing [to accommodate for] a range of temperatures or wind conditions because you can’t readily change a pair of pants or add another layer,” Gross says.

Brands like The North Face and REI weren’t as abundant as they are today, so purpose-designed climbing gear was often hard to find. “The majority of Americans participating in outdoor sports actually had to get the clothing they needed from either department stores or from army surplus stores,” Gross says. For pants, the best value was either old army fatigues or white painter’s pants. Both were dirt cheap, hard wearing and loose fitting, providing the wearer with maximum movement when scaling a sheer rock face. Patch-pocket OG-107 fatigue pants were practical and comfortable, with ample pocket space and voluminous leg openings. Painter pants, on the other hand, were the most ubiquitous choice of the era, and are still a popular pant for some climbers today.

The most iconic garment of a ‘70s climbing kit was the rugby shirt. How rugbies got on the backs of climbers in the Western U.S. is slightly contested, but one story goes like this: Yvon Chouinard, the founder of Patagonia, bought a rugby on a climbing trip to Scotland in 1970. Returning to California, all his climbing mates saw the rugged utility of the shirt. Made from rugged cotton jersey, the long-sleeved rugby guarded against the elements and its collar provided necessary protection for climbers. With hexes, clamps and other climbing gear, “there was a lot of metal that you were wearing around your neck,” explains Val Franco, one of the two long-time employees behind Patagonia’s archive. “The rugby shirt allowed you to rest that on your neck and not get chafed.”

With nowhere to buy rugby shirts domestically, Chouinard first ordered them from England but later decided to produce the style at Patagonia. “We all had one, or maybe two or three because they came in some really cool colors,” says Franco. “If you were cool, you were wearing a rugby shirt.” Franco, who ran Patagonia’s first sewing shop in 1973, remembers 12 original colorways of rugby shirts then. And while Patagonia still keeps a rugby or two in rotation, the best place to hunt for the vintage shirts is the brand’s own vintage site Worn Wear. If you scan archival photos of climbers from the decade, not all the rugby shirts were made by Patagonia, but they all share a similar design: thick stripes and bold colors, features which stood out against drab fatigues and harsh rocks.

In recent seasons, workwear-inspired pants (including painter and carpenter varieties) and rugby shirts have taken over the men’s marketplace. While the popularity of the styles may be coincidental, they make a direct reference to a distinct era in American climbing. And the styles offered by modern brands aren’t that different than the garments used decades ago — they’re rugged and functional, built to take a beating. But to see the original clothing in action, be sure to check out the 2014 documentary Valley Uprising, which you can still catch on Netflix, or try to snag a copy of Glen Denny’s Yosemite in the Sixties.

Pants

Dickie’s Painter’s Pants

These were good enough then and they are good enough now. Get them hemmed with a nice crop or cuff them up, but don’t baby them — they get build up character with every scuff.

J.Crew Wallace & Barnes Painter Camp Pant

The perfect mix between the fatigue pant and the painter pant, the Wallace & Barnes Camp Pant is cut from off-white undyed cotton.

Best Made RS Utility Pant

Old surplus OG-107 trousers are not as plentiful as they used to be. Luckily, Best Made makes a great pair of rugged sateen fatigues (they are noticably more trim than vintage styles).

Patagonia Stand Up Shorts

As Val Franco said, “A pair of Stand Up shorts and a rugby shirt was perfect for going bouldering and climbing.” Commit to the 5-inch inseam for a throwback look.

Birdwell Corduroy Shorts in Rust

Birdwell may be a surf company, but these shorts are just right for the mountains. Perfect for hotter days, they’re made with durable corduroy that’s appropriate for a mellow hang or a climb.

Rugby Shirts

Rowing Blazers Super Heavyweight Rugby

This hefty rugby is cut from 14-ounce cotton and features the classic horizontal stripe, capturing the vibe of hard-wearing, bright rugby shirts that climbers routinely wore.

Battenwear Pocket Rugby Shirt

This lighter option from Battenwear is cut from 8-ounce cotton jersey. Purists might balk, but it comes equipped with a chest pocket, adding everyday functionality.

J.Crew 1984 Rugby Shirt

This shirt from J.Crew was first released in 1984. It has bright orange stripes and added elbow reinforcements for durability.

The 3 Best Benefits Of Owning A Slim Wallet

Wallets are essential items that have come along way to make our lives easier. From keeping your valuables such as IDs to organizing your credit cards all the way to safeguarding your cash, the slim wallet is increasingly becoming part and parcel of our lives in a convenient way.

This is especially true of those from Kinzd slim wallet brands. They have really changed our tastes and preferences when it comes to choosing these little items in the world of fashion today.

Given that your appearance matters the most, the need to have a wallet that will give you confidence and make you stand out from the crowd has necessitated a drastic shift from bulky to trendy and stylish slim wallets. The question is, what are the three most important benefits of carrying a slim wallet?

1. No More Back Pains

Back Pain

In as much as bulky wallets have been the talk of the town since the time immemorial, their place has been taken for obvious reasons. Imagine the discomfort of sitting on your heavy wallet or having to deal with holding it in your hands.

This especially sucks while in the midst of an important meeting with business associates. It even sucks to have to deal with when hanging with your friends.

Every fashion-conscious person is fully aware of looking cool in a minimalist front pocket wallet too. The reason for this is not just fashion related. Bulky wallets can lead to health-related problems such as sciatica. This is a condition brought about by exerting pressure on your back.

This can result in serious back-pains that could be detrimental to your overall well-being. If you really care about your health, then it is time you considered carrying a slim wallet. You can find an impressive one in the Carrywallet. These are compact slim wallets that are minimalistic while also being fashion friendly.

Even better, they’re also inexpensive and can handle everything you need from a wallet. All of this can be done minus the bulk of a normal wallet.

2. Long Life to Your Valuable Items

Money in Wallet

Gone are the days when stuffing your wallets with all kinds of items were regarded as fashionable. Apart from looking old-school, keeping too much load in your wallet can destroy your valuable items like credit cards and IDs. It does this often by mashing them together, which can break many cards. Thus, making them obsolete.

Replacing those items is clearly frustrating while also being time-consuming. No one would ever want to find themselves in such an awkward situation. Well, at least a sane person wouldn’t.

Therefore, you can save yourself from such problems by using a slim wallet. This will help keep your credit or debit cards safe and durable. In other words, using a slim wallet can save valuable items from possible damage. On top of this, it can help them from getting stolen.

3. Easy Accessibility to Your Items

The CarryWallet

The sight of an overstuffed and unorganized bulky wallet loaded with all types of bills, cards, receipts, and cash can make you look confused. You’d even look out of place, especially in a public setup. You could even feel embarrassed when it comes to retrieving cash from your stuffed wallet to settle some bills at the full glare of other people.

Worse of the worst, it could even take you a little bit longer trying access important items from a disorganized bulky wallet. To avoid causing drama in the public or save your precious time, you should look for a minimalist wallet. You want one that will allow you to keep just a few most important items in it.

The main reason for doing so is the need to have easy access to your credit cards, IDs, and even cash. Thus, this saves you time and effort at the same time.

Puma x Porsche Design HYBRID evoKNIT

Now that its partnership with Adidas is no longer in effect, Porsche design has is collaborating with Puma for high-end footwear. The latest offering takes its automotive influences and channels them into awesome kicks.. The Puma x Porsche Design HYBRID evoKNIT is a men’s running shoe that would look great with a casual getup. With these on your feet, you have the carmaker’s racing technology behind every stride. The brand even promises that users will get superior running performance, but that’s kind of subjective in our opinion. It’s currently available in one colorway, b

Nevertheless, you can’t deny that a pair of these look awesome. Just like the name implies, the shoe’s upper is fully knitted instead of using a polyester like other models. Breathable inserts provide just enough ventilation to keep your feet cool. The best way to describe it is like wearing a snug pair of socks, but with more support and traction.

Meanwhile, the soles make use of Puma’s proprietary NRGY beads for optimum cushioning. Additionally, the IGNIT foam is a lightweight component that enhances energy return from each stride. Overall, both technologies should deliver first-rate shock absorption for users of the Puma X Porsche Design HYBRID evoKNIT. Other materials used in its construction include leather, nylon, lycra, and polyester. The combination should make it quite comfortable to wear during on your run or maybe a leisurely walk. This makes us look forward to other future models from this collaboration. The shoes are now available and retail for $200 a pair.

The 6 Best Electric Shavers of 2019

Many men maintain a beard or short stubble to forever avoid an actual shave, myself included. And who can blame us? There are lots of risks that come with a razor, like irritation, bumps, nicks and ingrowns. For this reason, it feels safer and smarter to use a reliable beard trimmer and maintain some semblance of stubble. But, even that gets old. What if we want to showcase our shaved faces, minus all those risks of razors? Or, what about trimming parts of the beard, but shaving the rest—like keeping a clean neckline, or maintaining just a mustache?

That’s where the electric shaver comes in.

Now, not all electric shavers are going to give you an ultra smooth, bump-free shave. But the best ones will. They have thin foil heads or rotary caps that protect your skin from their sharp blades, and the top models of late consider things like design, portability, battery charge, waterproofing, wet/dry duality, LED displays, warranty, trimming extensions and battery hold (as in, how long a charged device stays charged, when not being used — for this, look for a lithium battery).

These are the factors we considered in naming our favorite electric shavers of the year, in addition to the precision and power with which they actually perform. So, if you’re looking for a new electric shaver, or are converting from bare razors and beard trimmers, then here are your best bets.

Best Baseline Foil Shaver: Gamma+ Italia Absolute Zero

Gamma+ Italia’s lightweight shaver looks beautiful and performs as such, designed for convenience and class. The shaver has hypoallergenic gold titanium foils, stacked staircase-style so that it grooves and flexes comfortably along your neck and face. There’s even a retractable trimmer at the rear, for small detailing around the cheeks, mustache, sideburns and neck. You can charge it in the wall or with a USB, and each shaver comes with two replaceable cutters. While other shavers impress with add-ons, Gamma+ Italia’s excels in all the essential ways.
Top Feature: Lightweight ergonomic design and gold titanium foils
Charge Time: 30 minutes
Charge Lasts: 2 hours
Warranty: 1 year

Best Travel-Size Shaver: Braun MobileShave M-90

Whether you’re cleaning up on a red eye before a business meeting or just minding your whiskers at the gym, Braun’s tote-able shaver is an excellent companion. It comes with an auto-lock swivel cap and is safe to rinse under the faucet. Its catch-all foil head competes well against brawnier models (pun intended), and it also has a retractable trimmer for any detailing around the hedges.
Top Feature: Protective auto-lock twist cap
Charge Time: 2 AA batteries (one set included)
Charge Lasts 1 hour
Warranty: 1 year

Best Wet/Dry Shaver: Wahl Smart Shave

If you made a checklist of the features you’d want in an electric shaver, Wahl’s would check most of the boxes. You can shave wet or dry (since there are some shower shavers among us who demand a waterproof device); it has an LED charge display; its lithium ion battery stay charged, and can generate a 5-minute shave on a 1-minute charge; its flexible foil heads move to each contour; an ergonomic rubber grip ensures you won’t drop the shaver on your shower floor; a stainless-steel retractable shaver pops up from the rear; an travel-lock prevents it from turning on in your gym bag… the list goes on.
Top Feature: Shower-friendly design (rubber grip and waterproof)
Charge Time: 1 hour
Charge Lasts: 90 minutes
Warranty: 5 years

Best Multipurpose Device and Spot-Check Shaver: Philips Norelco Multigroom 9000

The lithium-ion Multigroom is an electric beard trimmer, face shaver, sideburn detailer, chest-hair manager, nose-hair nipper and more. And of all the interchangeable beard trimmers out there, this one is the best for spot-check shaves. Just attach its foil head, and clean up the perimeter of your cheeks, your neck line, or the little bridge between your mustache and beard. It’s a good device to own if you have various needs (beyond different head lengths) but still only want one tool for all those tasks. Lastly, don’t underestimate its 6-hour run time and 10-year warranty.
Top Feature: 25 pieces for all grooming needs, shaving head for spot checks
Charge Time: 2 hours
Charge Lasts: 6 hours
Warranty: 10 years

Best Self-Cleaning Shaver: Panasonic Arc 3

Panasonic’s Arc3 shaver is a powerhouse as a standalone device. It has a flexible triple-blade head, with ultra-thin hypoallergenic foils, wet-dry duality, an ergo-grip body, retractable trimmer and LED display. It also has a shave sensor that gauges facial-hair density and boosts or lessens power accordingly. But it stands on more than just those impressive details: The Arc3 comes with a two-in-one cleaning-charging station; just push the foil head into the station (after adding cleaning solution), and it disinfects the shaver while also lubricating the blades.
Top Feature: Cleaning and blade lubricating station
Charge Time: 1 hour
Charge Lasts: 45 minutes
Warranty: 2 years

Best Rotary Shaver: Remington HyperFlex

If you’ve got thick hair or shave infrequently — routinely managing a five-day stubble instead of a five-o’clock shadow — then you might want a rotary shaver instead of a foil shaver. And Remington’s is your pick: Like our favorite foils, it shaves wet and dry, has a long-lasting lithium battery and flexes to the contours of your face, jaw and neck. You can also switch on its turbo mode for heavy-duty chopping.
Top Feature: Turbo mode for cutting especially thick, wiry hair
Charge Time: 90 minutes
Charge Lasts: 1 hour
Warranty: 2 year

The Best Beard Trimmers

An electric beard trimmer is a necessity for maintaining facial hair at home. The best ones are intuitive and offer a range of settings for hair trimming and precision touch-ups. Read the Story

Rapha Cycling Jacket

Rapha is selling new gear. It’s called the Pro Team Lightweight Shadow jacket (what a mouthful!) and if you’re big on cycling, you might want to take a long.

This isn’t the first time we’re seeing this sleek fitness apparel. We saw at this year’s Liege-Bastogne-Liege (also La Doyenne) with EF Education First. They of course had sufficient times to test the jacket during Belgium’s irate weather along the 256-kilometer track.

Rapha says it manufactures this jacket using a durable water repellent treatment, like with its previous Shadow jacket. This time, though, it’s got a new fabric that’s lighter and stronger that its aged sibling.

The company claims that its jacket is capable of “warding off biting wind and keeping the rider dry in all but the most concerted of downpours, while also regulating body temperature.” We’ll have to test it first, of course, but that sounds pretty impressive.

The fabric also features an element of mechanical stretch, wrapping around the rider’s body to create a tight “race” fit. Elasticated closures dot the cuffs and the hem, which hold the jacket in place. At the same time, it allows it to trim the bulk down to a minimum. That’s great news if you want to stuff your jacket into a jersey pocket.

You can get it in Dark Navy, Green Grey, and Yellow. It’s a tad bit expensive at £200. But if you have plans to hop onboard the La Doyenne next year, the race demands no less.

How to Find Grail-Level Clothing Online

Used clothes are getting a high-touch, high-tech rebranding. Not into “secondhand,” with its whiff of musty, crowded Salvation Army racks? Maybe “archive fashion” suits you better — especially given the number of apps and services cropping up to feed the growing fashion-resale space.

The first companies to champion the idea were women’s sites ThredUp and Vestiaire Collective, essentially peer-to-peer consignment shops, which both launched in 2009; DePop, Poshmark and TheRealReal followed in 2011. Menswear got its answer in 2013 with Grailed. The site was first to focus exclusively on men’s pieces, and offered a platform for buyers and sellers who were previously stuck haunting niche forums. Two years later, sneaker resale platforms StockX and Goat gave sneakerheads the chance to shop rare and hyped styles that were previously all but untouchable.

Of all the upstarts, Grailed has wielded the deftest touch, exploring the many possibilities in men’s resale. The strictly peer-to-peer marketplace (stores and brands not allowed) is shoppable via app and provides a distinct style POV, something noticeably lacking on other platforms.

“We never want to be a faceless and voiceless company,” says Lawrence Schlossman, brand manager for Grailed. “Everyone who works here, to some degree, is a fashion enthusiast.”

Grailed might have a definitive point of view, but it’s inclusive: buyers can find everything from rare designer pieces and streetwear to vintage clothing and traditional brands, plus expertly curated sales and collections from celebrities and fashion industry insiders.

Schlossman says that Grailed’s success, and that of the fashion resale industry at large, is due in part to “secondhand being rebranded as archive fashion” — the recalibration lifted a stigma and added a premium shine. Not to mention guys were suddenly able to see economic opportunity in their well-curated closets.

“Not only do a lot of these iconic pieces within the menswear canon, regardless of genre or designer, hold their value,” Schlossman says, “they appreciate in value as well.”

Here, five sites to know now.

StockX

A platform that allows sneakerheads to sell rare kicks, with valuation visibility to rival the stock market. StockX incorporates a social media element so buyers can showcase personal sneaker portfolios.

Who It’s For: Sneakerheads
Year Founded: 2015

Grailed

A peer-to-peer marketplace specializing in rare designer pieces, streetwear and vintage clothing. It curates sought-after garments that make it easy to discover hits from the past, and there’s designer education via the site’s blog.

Who It’s For: Menswear aficionados
Year Founded: 2013

Poshmark

The online equivalent of a flea market, with a staggering range of vintage, designer and run-of-the-mill apparel. Take advantage of the option to make an offer on any item.

Who It’s For: Deal hunters
Year Founded: 2011

TheRealReal

Unlike many peer-to-peer services, TheRealReal has inventory; it authenticates each item and prices accordingly. It’s more expensive than other platforms, but the upcharge is for peace of mind — it eliminates much of the guesswork out of secondhand shopping for you.

Who It’s For: Designer enthusiasts
Year Founded: 2011

Etsy

A favorite platform for makers, it’s also a go-to for vintage dealers specializing in everything from vintage Levi’s to rare Chimayo jackets to Fred Harvey-era jewelry.

Who It’s For: Vintage buffs
Year Founded: 2005

Fox Racing V3 Solids Helmet

Here comes Fox Racing with another cutting-edge addition to its motocross apparel lineup. The V3 Solids Helmet, which isn’t just a doddy rehash of its predecessor, but a complete overhaul.

The tech-rich update brings a handful of revolutionary features like Fluid Inside and MVRS. Since Fox Racing’s helmets are worn by professional racers all over the world, there really shouldn’t be any question about this new gear. But in case you’re aching for details, let’s get into it.

First off, safety. The Fox Racing V3 Solids Helmet sports a litany of new features to ensure the rider is always in tip-top shape. The aforementioned Fluid Inside will protect against strong impacts. Fox Racing claims that it’s the most reliable impact protection system to date. It’s engineered to enhance the rider’s safety by emulating the Cerebral Spinal Fluid. That’s the body’s natural protection, in case you didn’t know.

More specifically, it works with your CSF to improve the absorption of impact energy, reducing the potential of concussive brain injuries.

The helmet also brings second-generation Magnetic Visor Release System to the fold, otherwise known as MVRS. This time around it’s got more roost resistance and a refined release control. As a result, it can better mitigate external rotational forces at play when racing.

These Badass Aluminum Suitcases Have Biometric Fingerprint Locks

Zero Halliburton made a name for itself crafting government-grade suitcases since 1938. The all-American company supplied transport and storage for lunar samples brought back on the Apollo missions, and also makes the suitcase containing nuclear launch codes — dubbed the “nuclear football” — carried day and night by the U.S. President’s security detail. Needless to say, a Zero Halliburton suitcase is one of the most secure and sturdy options you can buy.

This year the brand released its Collectors Series: two limited-edition travel suitcases in heat-treated black or silver 6061 aluminum, featuring two-step locking systems that include a biometric fingerprint sensor in addition to a standard TSA-approved lock. The cases also come with a six-roller “Zeroller” maneuvering system, a nice step up from the two- and four-wheeled designs found on most suitcases. The two sizes on offer are the 22-inch carry-on case (800 available) and a 26-inch travel case (just 500 available), allowing well-appointed travelers to pick a size that works for them.

At $1,495 for the carry-on and $1,795 for the travel case, these Collectors Series pieces aren’t inexpensive. But if you travel far and often, especially with precious cargo, you might want to take a hint from NASA on this one.

Top Duffel Bags For Men

A top-quality men’s travel duffel bag is an essential piece of kit If you have plans to head out on the road, take a weekend break or regularly find yourself on short business trips. They’re roomy enough to store all of your basics for traveling, but small enough to pack, grab and go without any fuss.

Wherever you’re planning to jet off to in the near future, a well-chosen travel duffel bag designed for men will serve you well on your travels. Whether it’s a certain style you’re looking for or a more practical item, you’ve landed in the right place as we’ll be taking a look at the best of the best of what’s out there when it comes to men’s travel duffels.

Before we get down to it and look at some great duffel bags, we feel it is worth highlighting to you some of the important aspects you should be considering and looking at when choosing a duffel bag. There is a lot more involved than just buying the one that meets your budget.

You need to think about how you want to carry it, what you want to use it for and the size you will need to accommodate everything you are planning on packing to take with you.

As there are so many different brands out there, it is good to note the duffel bag manufacturers who have a better reputation than others. That being said, you may still be able to find a real bargain that has not been produced by one of the bigger names in the duffel bag market.

Let’s look at each of these aspects in a bit more detail.

Carrying Options

Although you will find that most duffel bags follow the same template design, there are a number of different carrying options available. Many bags will have multiple carrying options to choose from, making those trips away all the more convenient.

Backpack straps – Similar to a traditional backpack, these types of bags can be carried on your back. These are great for long stretches of walking to a destination, especially when you need your hands free for more important things (such as navigating!)

Shoulder straps – Again, this kind of strap allows you to just sling the bag over your shoulder and forget about it, rather than relying on your hands. Ideal for the gym, or when you need to access it frequently whilst carrying.

Handles – As you’d imagine, this is the most traditional and universally popular carrying option for bags. Duffel bags will often consist of dual handles that have Velcro or some other kind of fastener that holds them together.

From Viosi in California comes this Balboa leather waxed canvas duffel bag. There is no way of getting past it – this is a great looking bag. In a sea of mediocrity, this stands out as a clear winner. With high grade materials such as waterproof waxed canvas, full-grain leather and stainless steel hardware and zippers, this is as striking a duffel bag as it’s functional and built to last. The flap-over u-shape zippered entry point makes it refreshingly different from the vast majority in this list with a straight forward zip running along the top.

Beyond the externals though, the interior is just as well-executed with convenience and organization at the forefront.

BUYING GUIDE & FAQ’S

What Kinds Of Duffel Bags Are There?

Thanks to a wide range of designers and brands each producing a variety of men’s duffel bags for activities such as traveling, the gym, and outdoor pursuits, there are now a number of different styles and types of bags to choose from, including:

Travel/Casual:

As the name suggests, these are for the most casual use and the type you should look for if you need an airline carry-on, or simply one to throw in the back of a car when you go away for the weekend. With so much choice in style, size, price, and color to suit a variety of needs, you’re sure to find what your travel requirements demand.

Gym/Sport:

These are not much different from other bags, other than they usually include a lot more waterproofing, particularly on the inside, and often have a separator or special compartment for damp clothes and shoes. Air holes feature heavily and the fabric is often breathable.

These are perfect for regular gym goers who want to keep their bag fresh, and for those involved in physical sporting activities.

Outdoor:

Duffel travel bags designed for outdoors specifically will have a higher quality and more durable exterior, often consisting of high density waxed canvas or leather. These are ideal for camping trips, or to carry all the necessary gear of your outdoor pursuits such as rock-climbing, skiing or hiking.

Waterproof:

There are various ways to describe waterproofing material because not every bag is created equal in this respect. Most bags are waterproofed to a certain extent, but if you are going to be visiting places where there is a high risk of heavy rainfall or prolonged water contact, you need to make sure you buy a suitably water-resistant bag.

Whether it’s an Amazon expedition, Monsoon season in India or simply a trip to the Everglades, a solid waterproof bag will have you covered.

What’s The Best Size To Choose?

The best duffel bag size you should choose will, of course, depend on your individual needs and preferences. If it is going to be accompanying you on a long 2-week trip, a small 20-liter bag is not really going to cut it. Whereas if you are only out of town for a night, you’re not going to need an over-sized 120-liter bag.

Think about your current and future needs, how much you will use it compared to the product price, what you’re using now and what’s lacking with it, and what you’re actually going to be putting in it. Also consider airline size restrictions for carry-on luggage, that is if you’re lucky enough to have lots of internal or international air travel on your agenda.

What are the Best Duffel Bag Brands?

As you will soon see from the following extensive list of the best travel duffel bags for men we’ve compiled to assist with your decision-making, there are hundreds of different bag manufacturers all offering something unique- much to the benefit of you, the buyer.

We have brought together a selection of travel duffels from the top brand names such as Oakley, Nike and Victorinox alongside specialists in the sector like Patagonia and North Face. You’ll also see some quality travel duffel choices from lesser known companies like Ulgoo and iBlue who have earned heaps of praise and a great reputation for their stylish, versatile bags.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at our pick of the best!

Nike React Presto

The React Presto is Nike’s latest silhouette, set to launch very, very soon. The speaker blends the Swoosh company’s cutting edge React technology with the refined, iconic design of Presto sneakers.

Fittingly for these ultra colorful kicks, Nike is launching a very tongue-in-cheek marketing campaign that’s reminiscent of the Presto ads that catapulted the sneaker to mainstream fame. But that was back in 2000, this is now. As such, Nike knew better than to rest on its nostalgic laurels alone. Although it’s still super fun to see Nike retooling the old Presto campaign. As such, you’ll find each colorway paired with cartoonish characters not unlike the Animoji populating iPhones. Each are inspired by the new silhouettes colorways, obviously.

There’s “Brutal Honey,” whose accompanying kicks feature heavy use of black and yellow, closely resembling a bumblebee. Then there’s “Rabid Panda,” which takes cues from the adorable little creature, only this time a bit brutal. You’ll either love or hate its white midsole with black detailings and navy upper. That’s also comes with a hint of orange at the outsole for some flair. There’s also “Psychedelic Lava,” which draws inspiration from the lustrous pastel colors of a lava lamp.

Each variant comes with a Presto-inspired plastic lace cage, as well. And of course, who can forget that super comfortable React outsole? With an inner bootie for a flexible fit, to boot.

Nike will launch Brutal Honey and Rabid Panda on May 9. There’ll also be Nike by You variations that will roll out, so make sure to watch out for that.
