5 New Grooming Habits to Build This Year

No ‘new year, new you’ mantra is complete without an audit of your grooming regimen. After all, it’s this routine (and how much you prioritize it) that dictates how the world sees you—as well as what kind of mindset and manifestation you want to contribute to that perception.

And while it’s the perfect time to upgrade a conditioner, be proactive about hair loss, or even invest in an electric toothbrush, we think there are a handful of oft-overlooked grooming-related resolutions that every guy can address. Some are more pertinent than ever in 2021, given how much time we spend in front of our devices, or how stressful the world is these days — which impacts your superficial health, too.

So, here are five grooming habits that you can build this year, in no particular order.

Minimize blue light exposure

One of the biggest skincare trends of 2020—and one that is likely here to stay — is the awareness that blue-light exposure is damaging our skin, much like some UV rays. It’s called high-energy visible light (HVL light) and it comes from computers, phones, TVs, and other screens, as well as fluorescent and LED lights. HEV light is a kind of short-wavelength light also emitted by the sun. In short, it penetrates unprotected skin and is strongly believed to increase free-radical production in the skin. This leads to premature aging, uneven skin tone, and even redness/inflammation. (Studies are still being conducted to formally assess.) This is the same kind of blue light from our devices that disrupts sleep cycles, and is why many of our phones, tablets, and computers have a “late-night” dimming function that reduces blue light from the screens.

You can activate this light-dimming function 24/7 as one preventative measure for avoiding excessive HEV light exposure. But also, you can wear antioxidant-packed moisturizer daily (with a midday touchup) in order to halt the production of free radicals due to these skin-aging waves. Many SPF-packed products also pack pollutant- and toxin-fighting ingredients.

Keep your nails trim and strong

I know you stopped biting your nails and hangnails decades ago…so hopefully, that’s not the starting point for this tip. Because 2021 is the year that your finger and toe nails will grow their strongest, and the year you’ll keep them trip exactly the right length—while minimizing hangnails, cuticle overgrowth, and the likes. The DIY manicure and pedicure are easily managed with the right devices and products: Separate clippers for fingers and toes (the latter has a larger, straight-edge top, while the former is smaller and curved). Leave a couple millimeters of white — just a sliver — at the top after clipping.

The best clippers have a built-in file (though buying a standalone one is a cheap, lasting investment), and they’ll even allow you to clean out any dirt and lift up cuticles. Then, make sure your diet contains enough Biotin (and other B vitamins) in order to grow strong, sturdy nails, and keep a lotion or repair balm close by, for nightly application across the fingers and toes. This should help keep everything nourished while you sleep, while expediting any healing hangnails (while also preventing them in the first place).

Prioritize scalp care

Scalp care is often lumped together with hair care, with the notion that shampoo and condition take care of everything up there. But that’s not the right way to approach things—including your approach to hair care. Instead, start with the scalp when picking out your hair care products. Choose ones that promise to neutralize bacteria and fungus (to mitigate dandruff) and that tone + calm the skin up there (to control oil production and prevent inflammation). Oftentimes, your hair health is directly linked to your scalp health. So, if you aren’t going to switch up your shampoo and conditioner (in favor of scalp-forward ones), then at least add a scalp scrub to your weekly regimen. This will lift dead skin cells and also tone/neutralize while stimulating circulation and nutrient delivery to the follicles. Secondly, you can add a weekly scalp treatment in order to deep-clean, nourish, and calm the scalp, in order to create the most healthy, fertile environment for your hairs—and for nothing microscopic that can throw it all out of balance. These often use neutralizing ingredients like tea tree oil, hair-strengthening keratin, or moisture-preserving ceramides.

See a dermatologist regularly

Just as you would schedule routine visits with your general practitioner, optometrist, dentist, and others… so too should you see your board-certified dermatologist once or twice yearly. Not only can this doctor give you a full-body exam (for potentially threatening moles and other irregularities), but s/he can also give you tailored advice on how to treat hair and skin conditions specific to you — while factoring in your own lifestyle habits and factors, the way no Google search could ever. Whether you’re trying to regrow some hair, prevent further loss, reverse signs of aging, reduce breakouts, and so forth, this doctor is the shortest distance between you and your superficial goals.

Get familiar with pH balance

You’ve probably seen the term ‘pH balance’ written on various skincare products, or even recall it from high school chemistry class. It’s an important thing to commit to memory, especially if you’re trying to maintain clear, calm, and healthy skin. (Aren’t we all?)

In short, pH (which standards for ‘potential hydrogen’) is a scale used to express the acidity or basicity of a water-based solution. Things with more hydrogen ions it has available, the more acidic it is. The most important thing to know, when it comes to your skin, is that on the pH scale of 0 (very acidic) to 14 (very basic/alkaline), skin is somewhere left of a neutral 7: it is naturally more acidic, hovering around 5-5.7.

While most moisturizers, serums, and the likes will carry a pH balance similar to your skin’s, many products will throw this balance out of whack, and it’s your job to keep skin as harmoniously balanced (near that 5-5.7 level) as possible. But how do you do this when you can’t simply gauge your skin’s (or a product’s) pH level?

Dry, flaky, dull, or rough skin is usually too basic/alkaline—it needs to be bright back down to the natural balanced level. On the other hand, acne-prone, excessively oily, and hypersensitive skin is usually too acidic and needs to be brought up to the natural levels. Often, people with excessively oily skin will use skin-parching cleansers or astringents in an effort to counter the shine. In doing so, they tip the scales so far in the alkaline/basic direction that their skin becomes patchy, irritated, and dried out. Now one problem has led to another.

This is also something your dermatologist can help you to mitigate in a bigger, planned-out approach, but one of the best products you can acquaint yourself with (if you have consistently oily/acne-prone skin or excessive dry/rough skin, is a toner. Find one with prebiotics, without alcohol, and with hydrating ingredients. Use it after cleansing to “reset” your pH level around 5-5.7, and follow with your serum and moisturizer. Witch hazel toners in particular are helpful for those with excessively oily skin, while dry- and rough-skinned individuals might benefit from exfoliating ingredients like alpha hydroxy acids (lactic, glycolic acid, etc).

5 Tips for Getting by Without Your Barber

God bless the barbers. And the stylists. And the colorists. Like so many other professionals, the hair experts are largely unable to work in the current COVID-19 climate, and their absence is quickly noticed. If you aren’t resigned to a full-head buzz yet, you may be by the time this pandemic is all done.

Or perhaps you’re holding out, and for the time being are faced with something amorphous, mop-like, mushroomy or some other kind of unkempt. Such is the reality, and it’s not such a big problem in the grand scheme of things. But besides the alternatives — such as covering it up with a hat, falling victim to a DIY hack job or resorting to the full buzz cut — here are a few ways you can still keep your growing hairs in order. Or, as best as possible.

And next time you see your barber or stylist, tip them big. Or, contact them now and send them cash via PayPal or Venmo just because. They definitely need it these days, plus you can’t deny that they keep you looking your best in normal times.

1. To counter bulk: Wash less, condition more

Washing your hair makes it voluminous since it strips away the oils in the hair that weigh things down. These oils aren’t all bad though, in moderation, because they also condition the hair and keep it hydrated and healthy.

When used on its own, conditioner also helps flush away excess grease and grime, doing much of shampoo’s work for it. It also nourishes the scalp and leaves everything feeling soothed, soft and the perfect amount of shiny. Hopefully, you’re already using conditioner anyway — daily, or at least following any shampoo application (but never combined together, since the conditioner’s job is to restore everything the shampoo strips. If you use them together or in the wrong order, the conditioner is neutralized by shampoo).

By conditioning more than you shampoo, you can control the volume of your hair. Not only will it be softer and more healthy on the whole, but it won’t poof up, plus it’ll be easier to tame with any products you use. It’s still good to shampoo once a week or so, but give yourself an extra few minutes with the conditioner after the fact.

2. Mind the edges

The easiest way to extend the life of a haircut — or to clean up a mop-like hairdo — is to define the edges of the entire thing. It’s the same as trimming your neckline and cheek lines even if you’re growing a big, bushy beard. By simply defining the border and intentionally “outlining” it, everything looks immediately cleaner. This isn’t as important for longer, straighter styles, but if your short- or medium-length hair has been cut in the last couple months, you can still likely see where the barber last “drew” this outline, and can, in turn, go in with a trimmer to clean it up. (If you live alone, you may need a three-panel mirror in your bathroom or a handheld one to help.) If you aren’t going to attempt buzzing or cutting your own hair, then a standard-fare beard trimmer will work for this task.

You should also clean up any wiry, curly sideburns, and can comb the sides of your hair forward across the newly-drawn perimeter. After you do this, feel free to snip at any hairs that extend over the clean line. Ditto goes for any hairs that fall over the ears on shorter styles. These are all ways to keep the edges clean and to extend the wear of your current cut.

3. Try the slick back

Whenever someone grows out their hair intentionally, they have to endure a long, awkward growing phase. Typically the hair is still trimmed, texturized and layered throughout the year or two of growth, to keep it looking presentable. With current social-distancing measures, since a proper trimming is not possible, one way to endure each day is to simply slick the hair back with a high-hold product — something applied when your clean hair is towel-dried but still a little damp.

A pomade will give you Mad Men levels of shine, while a gel can add even more grip and control. A paste will give you more “touchable” hair, plus less shine when applied to damp hair. You needn’t go all the way into a shiny slick back, though — simply combing any lightweight product into damp hair — creams, clays, putties, for example — will sort everything to the side or back, and give you some semblance of order up top.

4. Use your hat — but only briefly

How your hair dries will play the biggest role in how manageable it is for the day ahead. With that in mind, here’s a lowbrow hack that actually works: After showering and applying your hair product, put a ballcap on for about 5-10 minutes. You want to do this long enough to impact the shape of the style (in that, you’re preventing it from ballooning as it dries), but short enough that you don’t end up with helmet hair.

This is best done if you’re wearing short or medium styles forward over the forehead, as opposed to slicked to the side. (It still works for those, but that style, as mentioned above, often requires higher-hold products in the first place, which also do the task.) If you want a lightweight hold that doesn’t mushroom at the sides and suppresses extra bulk, just do this hat trick every morning — paired with a hair cream, paste or clay.

5. Mind your vitamins

Your body needs nutrients, and we would never suggest cutting these out of your diet, especially in times where you need to be as strong and healthy as possible. However, some vitamins really up the ante more than others — especially anything targeted at hair growth.

If you’re taking pills that encourage hair growth, now might be the time to scale back on those. Of course, don’t cease using anything that prevents hair fall. But, if you’re taking biotin supplements (Vitamin B7, B8 or Vitamin H) specifically to grow your hair stronger and longer, you might consider scaling back on those until your barber is back in business. And if you’re currently at the crossroads of excess hair fall and aren’t sure you can make this sacrifice, then pick your battles. It’s better to have strong, unkempt hair than to have brittle (and less) hair.

This Great Summer Fabric Was Used in Prehistoric Times

When summer rolls around, linen clothes are the first things to come out from the closet. But we’re certainly not the first to use linen. Linen is the oldest textile in existence. And when we say old, we mean really old. Prehistoric. As such, it’s seen a lot, having an extensive history of use cases. It was instrumental in the economies of nations like Ireland and France, used to dress royalty and even influenced language.

But first, what is linen and why do people like it?

Characteristics

Linen comes from the flax plant and is what’s known as a bast fiber. Bast fibers are fibers that are collected from the inner bark, the bast, which surrounds the plant’s stem. Other bast fibers include hemp, ramie and mulberry.

Linen’s got a lot going for it, especially compared to other fibers like cotton. It’s more durable than cotton, making it perfect for heavy-duty applications. Because it’s quick-drying and breathable, linen is a go-to for warm weather garments.

It’s hypoallergenic, naturally anti-bacterial, and because the fibers are so long (it can grow up to 6 to 8 inches, compared to cotton which maxes out around 2.5 inches), linen fabrics are smooth, anti-static and won’t pill. Unlike wool, linen won’t attract moths.

And, climate advocates tout linen’s eco-friendly production. Linen takes around 100 days from seed to harvest whereas cotton takes about 160 days. This timeline means more material can be produced in less time. Linen also uses far less water than cotton. it can grow in poorer-conditioned soil, grows close to the surface and doesn’t require irrigation. One report estimates that a linen shirt uses about 6.4 liters of water while a cotton shirt uses 24 liters.

B.C. (Before Clothes)

While we’re used to seeing linen in woven form, as clothes and bed spreads, this was not the original use of linen. Before linen was used, the flax plant from which it is harvested was domesticated in the Fertile Crescent region of Ancient Mesopotamia and was grown for its rich seeds thousands of years before it was used to make textiles. The flax seeds were used to produce food and for oil.

Georgia

The earliest known evidence of linen used as a textile goes back about 30,000 years. In this study, scientists found evidence of woven flax in the Dzudzuana cave in the foothills of Caucasus, Georgia. They posited that these fibers were used by pre-historic humans to weave baskets, haft various tools and even for clothes. Most of the flax fibers they discovered were in their natural, undyed state, while others were determined to have been dyed using roots.

Ancient Egypt

In Ancient Egypt, linen garments were reserved for nobility — priests and pharaohs. Its intensive process made it a luxury and was thus only worn by those with a high social stature. Because of this, it was also used as a form of currency. Ancient Egyptians also used linen in the mummification process, as a way to wrap the deceased, believing that the whiteness of the garment displayed purity and wealth for those entering the afterlife.

The oldest known woven garment was made with flax, from which linen is harvested. Known as the Tarkhan Dress, it was found in the Tarkhan cemetery near Cairo in 1913 and radiocarbon dating estimates that the dress dates back to between 3482 and 3102 BCE, over 5000 years ago.

Irish Linen

Linen would make its way further into Europe. The earliest known records of an actual linen industry was during the late Bronze Age in Greece.

Flax continues to be grown around the world with the highest quality flax being grown in countries such as France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Ireland is also known for its deep history with linen. Though Irish linen is held in high regard today, it’s due in large part to the French. In the late 1600s, after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, throngs of Huguenots fled from France seeking asylum from religious persecution. The Huguenots brought with them the knowledge and skill of linen production, upping the existing linen industry in Ireland. Huguenot exile Louis Crommelin was instrumental in advancing Ireland’s linen industry and had submitted plans for its improvement. He was appointed as the “overseer of the royal linen manufacture of Ireland” and imported looms, improved existing Irish spinning wheels and taught Irish weavers the craft, among other skills.

His contributions were so successful that the town in which he settled, Lisburn, which is near Belfast, became the epicenter of linen production. During the American Civil War, America had experienced a major shortage of cotton due to a cotton famine. Ireland helped import linen into America to help with textile demand, solidifying Belfast as ‘Linenopolis’.

Etymology

The word ‘linen’ comes from the Latin word for the flax plant, ‘linum’. It evolved from there to referring to the fiber to the fabric. Because of its widespread use in bed sheets and table cloths, the word also is used as a catchall for these textiles.

We also get linings and lingerie from linen. As you might guess, this is because clothes were often sewn with an inner layer of linen fabric and undergarments were commonly made using linen.

Several other words also derive from linen. In linen production, two types of linen fibers are separated from each other: the shorter fibers are referred to as the ‘tow’ and often used in strenuous applications like burlap. The longer fibers of linen are known as the ‘line’, which is where we get the word from. These long staples were used to determine a straight line and are the better quality fibers.

Money

full frame shot of us paper currencies

Adam Drobiec / EyeEmGetty Images

Ancient Egyptians may have used linen as a form of currency long ago, but the practice is still something that occurs in the modern era. The United States uses linen fibers in its paper currency. The dollar bill is comprised of 75% cotton and 25% linen, the result of which is a unique crispy feel that is far more durable than standard paper used for writing.

Ever Notice That Converse Chuck Taylors Have Fuzzy Soles? Here’s Why

Welcome to Further Details, a series dedicated to ubiquitous but overlooked elements hidden on your favorite products. This week: the fuzzy soles on new Converse Chuck Taylors.

You just received a fresh pair of Converse Chuck Taylors and straight out of the box you notice something a bit strange. The soles are… fuzzy? You’re not seeing things. Well, you’re not seeing things if you’ve bought a pair of the Converse Classic Chucks and not the Converse 1970s Chucks. Otherwise, you might want to get your eyes checked.

Felt is a strange “feature” to have on a shoe, let alone a part of the shoe that grinds the pavement. So why is it there? The answer comes down to, of course, profits.

Tariffs play a huge role in margins and tariff percentages can vary widely depending on the item that’s being imported. For a U.S. company importing shoes from China, that can be as much as 37.5 percent. That’s not nothing, especially for a company that does as much volume as Converse.

Instead of paying such high import tariffs, companies can use a loophole in the system to shell out considerably less. Known as “tariff engineering,” importers can modify a product it imports in order to reclassify it into another category which has a lower tariff. In the case of footwear, slippers have a very low tariff compared to shoes — 3 percent to about 25 percent.

According to the patent for the sole Converse uses — which curiously features images of footwear that look way more like slippers — the “shoe with slip-resistant, shape-retaining fabric outsole” invention is a way for a shoe to keep its shape, keep its grip and remain quiet with each step. Essentially, it’s a sneaker with a fabric sole attached to a conventional rubber sole. But in the law’s eyes, the fact that the Chuck Taylor’s soles are over 50 percent felt classifies it as a slipper.

So, what do you do about the fuzz? Well, avoid slick surfaces at first. The partly-furry soles will give way to the grippy rubber pretty quickly, but they’ll make things a bit slippery fresh out of the box. If you can’t wait, you can always scrub off the hairy bits with some sandpaper. In the meantime, you can call your Chucks new house slippers.

Protest t-shirts, DIY-projects and function-forward clothing were also directly linked to the year’s events. While there were many new pieces of clothing created, these are the best releases of the year.

Expand Your Watch Collection With These Awesome UNDONE Timepieces

In our years of featuring watches, there are some we can easily name off the top of our heads. These are usually those that made a lasting impression the first time we saw them. As such, the more eye-catching and unique the timepiece, the quicker people will develop interest. Luxury watchmakers normally rely on brand recognition and the use of premium materials to make a statement. UNDONE, on the other hand, loves to thrill us by regularly releasing new models, limited editions, and charming collaborations.

The Hong Kong-based company apparently understands that consumers are always in the market for something fresh. Unlike others that take their time before expanding their collection, UNDONE is following a different timeframe. Fans of their products (including us) who are always eager for all the cool stuff will not be disappointed. With approximately 2 releases each month, that equates to around 24 new models each year.

Fun With UNDONE

While we love their exclusive tie-ins to give us great collections such as the DC Universe, Cult-X, Animated, and Far East. Among the ones that were already featured on Men’s Gear are the Batman Quantum, Space Xplorer, and Peanuts Lunar Mission. However, another aspect of UNDONE makes it an awesome option for those who want a bespoke wristwatch. You’ve probably guessed that it has something to do with customization.

It’s not like any average personalization wherein you can swap out the strap or maybe request and engraving on the case. Instead, what it offers clients are three models (Basecamp/Urban/Aqua) which they can use as blank canvases that they can tweak in so many ways. UNDONE works with artists eager to turn their creative ideas into accessories people will proudly wear on their wrists for years to come.

Crafting your watch

From a quality standpoint, the components that go into their creations use top-notch materials such as titanium, 316L steel, sapphire, and LEXAN polycarbonate, among others. Some parts are manufactured in-house, while the rest are from supply chains that also cater to renowned Swiss brands. Choose from a range of colors, textures, and patterns. Furthermore, they can even print your initials on the dial and add engravings or print pictures on the case back.

Now that you have an idea of what UNDONE can do for you, it’s time to check out the standout items from their dynamic catalog. We will be highlighting the ones that will likely have an impact even at first glance. Therefore, it will be a mix of collaborations and originals that stand out from the rest of the lineup.

 UNDONE Watches You Might Like
1

UNDONE is bringing two iconic characters from the Looney Tunes franchise in a pair of complementary timepieces. You have Daffy Duck and Marvin the Martian, both of which are presented to match the models’ namesake. As such, the duo can be seen with each of their half in an anatomical x-ray.

Those who grew up watching the cartoons will surely want to have these in their collection. We believe it’s best that you purchase the set so you can alternate between the two depending on your mood.

Paying homage to the Mexican tradition of celebrating “Dia de los Meurtos” with splashes of color and a festive atmosphere is the Calavera Neón. So far, this appears to be the most attention-grabbing wristwatch from the watchmaker.

What immediately hooks you is the dial adorned with an image of a skull. Likewise, flip to the back to see an engraving of a skeleton playing the guitar. Furthermore, the vibrant tones come to life in the dark or when exposed to UV light. UNDONE is even cool enough to throw in a UV light keychain for free.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 40

This is another tie-in with a popular DC superhero that we would proudly wear all the time. This is perhaps the closest one would get to feel like Batman as his emblem occupies the caseback, dial, and the crown.

Meanwhile, the titanium case gets a black PVD coating, which matches the black silicone strap for that stealthy vibe. As of this writing, there is an ongoing promotion wherein the first 50 buyers will receive a Batman automatic watch winder valued at $299 for free.

Now seems like a great time for you to take advantage of this bundle. Who knows? you might end up purchasing UNDONE’s entire DC Universe collaborations that would please any comic book aficionado.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 47
  • Case Thickness – Including Crystal (mm): 16.25
  • Case Material: Grade 2 Titanium

If you are looking for a visually impressive wristwatch, then the Basecamp “Kyoto Ghost” Bronze might be the one. It boasts a unique California dial configuration set in a black background. The hour markers of the top half have been replaced with kanji characters instead of the usual Roman numerals.

The presentation is framed within a bronze case, bezel, and crown that gives it a classy weathered look. A brown vintage leather strap completes the rustic ensemble. According to UNDONE, this model pays homage to the Buddhist ideologies regarding the three marks of existence.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 40
  • Case Thickness – Including Crystal (mm): 15
  • Case Material: CuSn8 Bronze
  • Lens Material: LEXAN Polycarbonate
  • Bezel Type: Rotating
  • Movement: Japanese TMI NH35A Automatic Winding Mechanism
  • Water Resistance (ATM/Meters): 10/100
  • Weight (Grams): 66
5

Earlier, we introduced you to UNDONE’s latest collaboration that brought two beloved cartoon characters into the spotlight. Now, its time for another old-school comic strip hero to shine. The Popeye Limited Edition “The Sailorman” is a fashionable yet rugged timepiece for those who regularly love to take a dip.

You have a California dial in black with Popeye at the center. Follow along as his hands tell the time. Meanwhile, the exhibition caseback features a tinted window that has an anchor with Popeye’s face printed on. A black and red colorway is the dominant theme for this timepiece.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 40
  • Case Thickness – Including Crystal (mm): 15
  • Case Material: 316L Stainless Steel
  • Lens Material: LEXAN Polycarbonate
  • Bezel Type: Rotating
  • Movement: Japanese TMI NH35A Automatic Winding Mechanism
  • Water Resistance (ATM/Meters): 10/100
  • Weight (Grams): 66
6

What we have here is another cool take on a California dial from UNDONE. Those of you who have been following us know we have a soft spot for darker colorways, which makes the Ronin an instant hit. As with most of the watchmaker’s limited-edition collaborations, some of the hour markers have been replaced.

This time, instead of 1, 2, 10, and 11, it has the Japanese phonetic lettering (Hiragana) that reads Ronin. The leather strap shows red stitching that emulates the kusazuri of a samurai’s traditional armor. Finally, the transparent section of the caseback shows a Daruma doll with a kabuto and the number 47 just below.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 40
  • Case Thickness – Including Crystal (mm): 15
  • Case Material: 316L Stainless Steel
  • Lens Material: LEXAN Polycarbonate
  • Bezel Type: Rotating
  • Movement: Japanese TMI NH35A Automatic Winding Mechanism
  • Water Resistance (ATM/Meters): 10/100
  • Weight (Grams): 66
7

Yes, this watch model is exactly what you think it is. It is one of the many interesting ones that belong to UNDONE’s Cult-X catalog. The company says that the idea behind it started out as a proposal for an April Fools joke.

After some deliberation, the team opted to release it as a light-hearted recognition of the growing acceptance towards the recreational use of cannabis in many countries. Those of you who do will love the subtle and obvious hints on its dial.

The UNDONE.420 highlights the 4 o’clock in green, while the recognizable leaf occupies the 12 o’clock slot. Overall, this makes it a fun timepiece to rock daily or to give to your friends who love to puff and pass.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 40
  • Case Thickness – Including Crystal (mm): 15
  • Case Material: 316L Stainless Steel
  • Lens Material: LEXAN Polycarbonate
  • Bezel Type: Rotating
  • Movement: Japanese TMI NH35A Automatic Winding Mechanism
  • Water Resistance (ATM/Meters): 10/100
  • Weight (Grams): 66
8

It would be unfair for UNDONE to only give some love to the Caped Crusader and not the Man of Steel. As such, it’s going the extra mile and giving Superman fans an interactive and stylish wristwatch. As implied by its name, it is designed to help the wearer decode messages writing in Kryptonian.

While almost everything is in black, there are blue and red accents on the bezel, the second hand, and the crown. The Kryptonian characters are visible on the bezel with their corresponding letter of the alphabet set on the flange just above the indices.

You can also find it as an engraving on the caseback of the Kryptonian Decryptor. Folks who are longtime fans of the DC Universe should seriously consider completing their collection with UNDONE’s growing lineup of superhero-themed watch collaborations.
