GAMMA: The Graphene Jacket You Can Wear in Any Climate

In a matter of days, a few scientists and engineers from Hong Kong have exploded across the internet for their insanely successful Kickstarter project, GAMMA.

Their company, Wear Graphene, invented GAMMA, the first-ever all-climate jacket infused with supreme graphene. Graphene is a Nobel-Prize-winning nanoparticle known for being the hardest, thinnest, and most flexible material on Earth.

In just one week on Kickstarter, GAMMA has raked in over 300k from backers around the globe, making it the breakout success of the year on the platform.

What makes GAMMA so special?

There are three things that make this jacket stand out from any other: the power of supreme graphene, internal heating elements, and a sharp look.

We’ll break down what this jacket can do below. Or, you can go to the GAMMA Kickstarter campaign now to see the jacket in action and order yours over 40% off.

Graphene: The Future of Clothing (And a Lot More)

Graphene is a 21st-century material. It wasn’t discovered until 2004. Since then, those in the know have expected it to revolutionize most industries (once we figure out how to use it).

The strongest, thinnest, and most flexible material known to man, graphene has the power to give super abilities to all of our stuff, including:

  • Superhero strength
  • Resistance-free conductivity
  • Antimicrobial cleanliness
  • Hypoallergenic protection
  • Insect repellant
  • Waterproof and windproof climate control
  • UV-proof skin protection
  • Thermoregulating temperature control

And it brings ALL of this to GAMMA jacket. Wear Graphene is one of the first labs/brands to successfully infuse graphene into textiles. It has infused all of the fibers in GAMMA with Graphene, making it the first all-climate activewear.

GAMMA is practically indestructible. Graphene makes it immune to tears, rips, and fraying. It’s even puncture-proof and cannot be damaged by sharp knives.

This makes it perfect for taking on the toughest hikes and climbs. It will also protect you from scrapes and cuts despite its crazy light weight (it weighs about as much as a hoodie).

Because it’s waterproof, windproof, and UV-proof, GAMMA will keep you cool and protected from the elements no matter how harsh the weather. Unlike most windbreakers, GAMMA’s graphene won’t let any chill get through the barrier.

GAMMA’s all-climate comfort is rounded out by graphene’s ability to transfer heat evenly across its entire lattice structure. GAMMA’s high-performance insulation will keep you warmer from your torso to your fingertips. And in warm weather, it will expel excess heat to keep you cool. Graphene reacts to your body like a second skin for unparalleled insulation without puffiness or sweaty discomfort.

Graphene is moisture-wicking, so it will keep your skin dry even if you use it to jog or engage in intense activity. And because it’s also antimicrobial, it will never develop odors from sweat or bacteria. You can wear it for your morning run, come back home for a shower, and then wear the same jacket to work.

Graphene is so versatile that it makes GAMMA the only jacket you’ll need all year round, no matter where you live or travel. Whether you want to run to the store for some butter or trek to the peak of a mountain, GAMMA will keep you safe, insulated, and comfortable.

Internal Heating for Extreme Cold

Graphene is an incredible insulator. But, without a heat source, it can’t keep you warm. This is where the few other graphene clothes fall short. When the temperature gets cold enough, your body heat just isn’t enough.

That’s why GAMMA comes with built-in heating elements that generate extra heat when you need it. To use them, just put a power bank in one of the jacket pockets. Then, you can select the temperature of your jacket at the push of a button.

GAMMA’s three heating elements can heat up to 50˚C/120˚F in seconds. Then, graphene will get to work dispersing that heat evenly throughout the jacket.

With the heating elements on, GAMMA can keep you toasty even in sub-freezing temperatures. GAMMA can protect you from temperatures as cold as -30˚C/-20˚F, making it an ideal jacket for winter camping, skiing, and living in places that are prone to snowstorms.

And remember, you won’t have to bundle up. GAMMA can do all this despite weighing about one pound.

Style that Fits Any Occasion

One of the reasons that Wear Graphene’s GAMMA has become so popular is that it looks cool as hell. It’s got a sporty soft shell jacket look that makes you seem like you just came from the slopes or the trail. It’s also tapered to slim your waist while bulking you up the chest.

GAMMA isn’t just for sports, either. It’s meant to be the only jacket you need, and it looks great on nearly any occasion. You can use it as a slip-on jacket, a winter coat, a windbreaker, a rain jacket, and more. You can wear it to work and the bar too. Its jet-black color and sharp trim are professional and refined.

Style doesn’t mean much without function. GAMMA comes with 10 pockets, two of which are hidden to protect travel documents or cash when you’re on the go. It comes with straps to secure your hood, waist, and wrists in the case of extreme weather. And, it has built-in fingerless gloves to keep those palms protected and warm. How cool is that?

Add Graphene to Your Wardrobe with GAMMA

Whether you fancy yourself a fashion guru or like to wear the same thing every day, GAMMA is going to work for you.

We can pretty much guarantee that you have ZERO graphene clothing in your closet right now.

That must be rectified. This everlasting super material is just better for you. And, GAMMA makes you look better too.

You can wear GAMMA every day for every occasion without having to question yourself in front of the mirror. How easy is that? Or, break it out when it’s time to impress your hiking buddies or your tennis partner.

It lasts forever, so we’re sure you’ll figure out plenty of ways to use it.

The only mistake you could make is to NOT order one while it’s over 40% off. Place your pre-order now on Kickstarter before early-bird perks run out to ensure you’re one of the first to don supreme graphene and look great doing it.

James Bond’s New Sunglasses Are Ridiculously Cool

Founded in 2007 by Bill Barton and Patty Perreira, Barton Perreira sunglasses are made meticulously in Japan over the course of, not days, but several weeks. Zylonite acetate is tumbled and twice-polished for exceptional smoothness and is combined with a lightweight metal core and super sharp lenses. The result is an inimitable pair of sunglasses worthy of James Bond’s face. So it’s no coincidence that the upcoming ‘007’ sequel No Time to Die features Barton Perreira frames prominently. But you don’t have to be well-versed in firearms and espionage to don a pair of the silver-screen frames.

The Bond-approved sunnies come in three classic shapes that come with their own cleaning cloths and cases. And if ‘007’ inscribed temple tips aren’t enough, the shades also come with certificates of authenticity. Not inexpensive, the frames range in price from $440 to $625, a reflection of top-tier craftsmanship. Though the ‘No Time to Die’ is set to release later this year, the slick sunglasses are all available for now.

IKEA’s FÄLTMAL Is A Wearable ‘Quillow’ Aka Quilt and Pillow

Swedish company IKEA is getting into the fashion industry with the introduction of the FÄLTMAL. This is a “quillow” or a quilt that transforms into a modest pillow.

It looks nothing fancy when in pillow form but does its job if you need a place for your head to lay down on. It even has a mesh pocket and orange sippers that provide both function and decoration.

However, it stands out when in quilt form: literally. Unfold it open and IKEA’s FÄLTMAL turns into a wearable quilt that covers your body from neck to feet. It measures a massive 75 inches long and 47 inches wide so it can fit most body sizes. It comes with built-in arms similar to a Snuggie so you can wear it for ultimate comfort in chilly temperatures and you can be your lazy self when at home. I dare you to use it in one of your walks in the park or in public and see how many envious reactions you get.

Despite it being rather attention-grabbing, it functions as designed. It even doubles as a full-length sleeping bag and allows for greater maneuverability. It has a button fastening on the back to ensure it doesn’t slip off with your every move. Plus, it is lightweight at just 23 ounces. The mesh pocket becomes handy storage for small on-the-go items.

IKEA’s FÄLTMAL is made from recycled polyester insulation and a nylon exterior that are both machine washable. It is however not intended to be ironed, dry cleaned, bleached, or use in rain or wet weather.

The Vintage T-Shirt Market Is Booming. Here’s Why

High summer calls for proper gear to keep you cool. Lightweight shorts, canvas sneakers or sandals, sunglasses, a shady hat and SPF-imbued moisturizer. The best t-shirt for the job, though, isn’t a mint one, fresh out of the plastic wrap — it’s vintage.

Tees that’ve already lived a life or two are just more comfortable. Gradually, the cotton fibers of a t-shirt will relax and break down with wear and washing. Repeat friction against the skin and in the wash slowly degrades the fibers until they break and become soft. That’s why your oldest t-shirt is probably your most comfortable and it’s the reason brands try to sell you a tee with a ‘lived-in’ or ‘broken-in’ or ‘vintage’ feel. They do this by putting their tees through the wash with chemicals and pumice stones (not great for the earth) to break down those fibers and make them softer.

This content is imported from Instagram. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

Because these well-loved tees have been put through the ringer, they’re also often thinner. Sometimes even paper thin. Some might not consider that a good thing, but it’s part of what makes vintage tees ideal for summer. There’s less material and less weight in the t-shirt, allowing for better airflow to keep you cool.

If you’re daring enough, some vintage tees will come with a few air vents (read: holes). Though, obviously this ain’t for everyone. But, since designers constantly look to vintage garments for inspiration, it’s no surprise that there are brand new hole-ridden tees you can buy for the same price as a rare vintage band tee.

But those manufactured vintage-inspired tees lack the charm of a true vintage tee. Part of the allure of a vintage tee is its patina. That includes the holes and the softened texture of the fabric itself, but it’s also the particular fade of the dye. Vintage tees that have been sun-faded or bleached in non-uniform ways often have higher price tags at boutiques or vintage stores for their unique character. If you’re a fan of a well-faded pair of blue jeans, you should also be a fan of a sunbleached tee.

And don’t forget about vintage graphic tees, too. Depending on how the graphic was printed, vintage graphic tees can patina in different ways that collectors find desirable. Many graphics can crack over time, adding another textural element to the t-shirt along with the cultural significance (or personal significance) to said graphic.

Vintage Misfits t-shirt

Courtesy Grand Street Local

They’re also great for people who like unique garments. Every vintage tee has a story and is one-of-a-kind, so you won’t have to worry about someone else having the same exact pristine t-shirt.

So, where do you get a vintage tee for yourself? These days, mostly online. Pore through eBay, Etsy and Instagram and you’ll find endless supplies of the tastiest tees. Because they’re online, you’ll want to make sure to know your measurements to get the sizing right, especially since each piece is unique. And, like any other vintage hunting, it might take you a while to find the right one. But, that’s part of the fun.

UNDONE x Popeye & Friends collector’s boxset edition

A while back, we told you about a stylish and exciting label founded by Michael Young called UNDONE. In fact, the pieces we have featured in the past usually push the boundaries of what’s fashionable and functional. Another aspect of the label that keeps us hooked is their never-ending pursuit for awesome tie-ins on top of their comprehensive personalization options. Their latest venture revisits one of the most beloved classic cartoon franchises with the Popeye & Friends Collector’s Boxset Edition.

Some of you might recall that a little while back UNDONE gave us the Popeye Limited Edition “The Sailorman” timepiece. Meanwhile, there was also the Popeye Limited Edition El Capitan which was a great alternative for those who preferred the feel of metal with its stainless-steel bracelet. Of course, all 300 examples of each variant quickly sold out (likely snapped up by eager fans of the Spinach-fueled sailor).

A Welcome Return

Given its popularity, the watchmaker was surely considering another run to give those who missed out a chance. However, instead of a reissue – which some brands do – UNDONE opted for something vintage animation enthusiasts would go crazy over. The Popeye & Friends Collector’s Boxset Edition not only directs the spotlight on its namesake but also completes the long-running love triangle.

How you ask? Well, UNDONE is finally adding another two highly-collectible models to represent Popeye’s main squeeze and bitter rival. Longtime aficionados of the syndicated series will love the inclusion of Olive Oyl and Brutus in the set. The Popeye & Friends Collector’s Boxset Edition comes in an exclusive box adorned with the show’s protagonist.

Pop the cover off and inside you’ll find a high-quality print of each of the three artworks of Popeye, Olive, and Brutus set in an aluminum frame. The fun continues as UNDONE puts three transparent spinach cans with each respective watch unique to the Popeye & Friends Collector’s Boxset Edition inside. If you’re wondering, the units are hidden within the colored confetti.

Popeye & Friends collector’s boxset edition

1

Although the Boxset Edition of the “Destro” Popeye shares a lot of similarities with the regular version, one has to look closely to see that the bezel matches the case. instead of the printed indices with lume set on a dark navy blue background, it has raised bronze markings.

It might have sacrificed additional low-light visibility but this means the bezel, along with the case and crown, will develop a patina over time. The weathered look will give the watch more character.

A lighter shade of navy blue is used for the dial which also features Popeye in his iconic ensemble. His hands point out the minutes and hours while a red second hand adds some contrast.

For those who are still new when it comes to watchmaking terms, the “Destro” Popeye is called as such courtesy of the placement of its screw-down crown. Instead of regular configurations that have it on the 3 o’clock side, you’ll find it beside the 9 o’clock marker.

This setup favors left-handed individuals who normally wear watches on their right wrist. Nevertheless, you can still strap it to your left which keeps the crown away from your wrist.

Flip it over to view the movement through the transparent section of its 316L stainless-steel caseback. You’ll also find the Popeye script printed on it along with the watch’s number in the series. The “Destro” Popeye is paired with a navy blue fabric/leather strap with a bronze pin buckle.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 40
  • Case Thickness – Including Crystal (mm): 15
  • Case Material: CuSn8 Bronze
  • Lens Material: LEXAN Polycarbonate
  • Bezel Type: Rotating
  • Movement: Japanese TMI NH35A Automatic Winding Mechanism
  • Water Resistance (ATM/Meters): 10/100
  • Weight (Grams): 66
2

Although this outing is the fourth yet unique iteration of a Popeye character watch from UNDONE, it marks the first appearance of Olive Oyl. Everyone’s favorite spinach-eating sailor needs some company and the 34 Olive Boxset Edition is just the thing fans need.

While it is marketed as a ladies watch, nobody will likely tell you not to wear it. As long as the leather strap fits your wrist, go for it! A quick comparison with the regular 34 Olive shows us that there are striking differences between the two.

The 316L stainless steel case flaunts a rose gold PVD coating that extends all the way to the exhibition caseback. Much like the “Destro” Popeye Boxset Edition, the Olive Oyl script and serial number are likewise there.

Next is the crown, which, unlike the standard version, has a blue sapphire inlay. The lustre of the mother of pearl dial allows the printed image of Olive to shine. It’s clear that she’s madly in love with Popeye as dictated by the hearts around her.

To match the ladylike theme of the 34 Olive Boxset Edition are the Breguet numerals for the hour markers. Then there’s the black leather strap with matching rose gold pin buckle.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 34
  • Case Thickness – Including Crystal (mm): 11
  • Case Material: 316L Stainless Steel
  • Lens Material: Hardened Domed K1 Crystal
  • Bezel Type: Fixed
  • Movement: Japanese VH61 Quartz with Sweep Second Hand, Date, and 24hr Display
  • Water Resistance (ATM/Meters): 3/30
  • Weight (Grams): N/A
3

Completing the trio in the collection is Popeye’s toughest enemy. Thus, it’s only fitting that UNDONE is crafting his timepiece with tougher materials. It arrives in a chunky 316L stainless steel case with a blue PVD coating that adds another layer of durability.

Next up is the metal bezel in black with a black zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) ceramic bezel insert. Owners will have a hard time (pun intended) scratching this from normal usage alone. Channeling the two-tone presentation of Brutus’ rival, the caseback is in black as well.

Meanwhile, the sapphire crystals on both sides should keep visibility in tip-top shape. Now, what makes the Aqua Brutus Boxset Edition stand out from the default trim is the red Cerakote crown. Once more, UNDONE is emphasizing this divers watch’s rugged nature.

It features a half-transparent dial with Brutus and his menacing scowl smack in the middle. This makes the date ring and other mechanical assets within visible. Still, a dedicated date window at the 3 o’clock mark will help you keep track of the day.

The Aqua Brutus Boxset Edition ships with a robust rubber strap with a black pin buckle. Along with the “Destro” Popeye Boxset Edition, it runs on a reliable Japanese TMI NH35A automatic calibre.

Specs

  • Case Size – Excluding Crown (mm): 43
  • Case Thickness – Including Crystal (mm): 16.5
  • Case Material: 316L Stainless Steel
  • Lens Material: Sapphire Crystal
  • Bezel Type: Rotating
  • Movement: Japanese TMI NH35A Automatic Winding Mechanism
  • Water Resistance (ATM/Meters): 20/200
  • Weight (Grams): 118

To Wrap Up

Having watched several of the syndicated series when we were kids takes us on a nostalgia trip. All of the items within the Popeye & Friends collector’s boxset edition are serialized from 1 to 50. Most of which will likely be spoken for soon if you don’t grab one now. If for some reason you miss out, UNDONE is still offering the standard editions of each of the three watches, which we will be featuring in detail soon.

Shopping for vintage clothes is a great way to spend a Saturday. But maybe you don’t have time to get out of the house and actually visit a thrift store. Maybe you’re stuck inside because it’s raining. Maybe there’s a global pandemic. Whatever obstacles lie in your way, there’s always our good friend, the Internet.

You can shop from the bosom of your bed and sift through page after page of vintage goods from sites like eBay, Etsy, Grailed and more. But there are ways to go about shopping for vintage clothes online to maximize your time and make smarter decisions. Hopefully, our list of tips will help you procure what you’re after and avoid having to ship back returns.

Know your measurements

Since you’re not in-person to try on these clothes, you’ll have to go based on measurements. You can do this in a number of ways, but there are two we recommend. First, you can measure your best-fitting clothes and compare those measurements against items you’re eyeing. Second, you can measure yourself at key areas. For tops, you’ll want to know measurements for your chest, shoulders, waist (right around the belly button), arms and neck.

Be specific

Rifling through racks of clothes in thrift stores is tedious. The nice thing about shopping online is that you can type in exactly what you’re looking for. This will save you countless hours. So instead of searching for “jeans,” be more specific and search “Levi’s 501 jeans.” Rather than searching for “shirts” search for “linen popover shirt”. There’s no end to the search terms you can enter. Anything you might use to describe a piece of clothing is likely how a seller will describe it, too. Think specific brands, materials, colors, sizes, decades, etc.

Or be general

There’s an advantage to being intentionally general with your search terms, too. Often, sellers don’t use accurate search terms. They might list a chambray shirt as a denim shirt or list a garment with even a sparer description than that. Sellers who don’t know what they have won’t describe their merchandise properly. You can use this to your advantage and possibly score a really rare garment. The downside is having to sift through a larger pool of results. If you have the time and patience, it can pay off.

Search categories you wouldn’t expect

In line with the previous tip, sometimes sellers will list their clothes in a different category than you would expect. A cardigan could be listed in outerwear, or you might find a vintage pair of army pants listed in the more specific ‘militaria’ category. The point with this (as well as the previous tip) is to think like a seller. How would sellers categorize the item you’re looking for?

Ask questions

Don’t be hesitant to ask the seller any questions you have about the item. You want to be as sure as you can be before coughing up any cash. So, ask for measurements and more pictures. If they’re accepting offers, make an offer. You’d be surprised by how low sellers are willing to sell their goods.

Set up alerts

If you’re on the search for something very specific, it helps to set up alerts. You’ll be notified any time a seller lists your desired item and you’ll be less likely to miss out.

Save your searches

Saved searches save you time from constantly having to enter the same searches repeatedly. For instance, if you’re only interested in penny loafers from Brooks Brothers and G.H. Bass, sites like eBay allow you to save that specific search.

Save your favorite sellers

Along the way, you’ll find that some sellers have a lot of pieces you’re looking for. Keep these sellers and stores saved so you can easily check in on them and any new goods.

Avoid scams

Not every seller is a great seller. Some are nefarious, attempting to scam you out of clothes they never had or lure you with intentionally inaccurate descriptions. Never agree to pay a seller through backchannels outside of the site on which the garment is listed. If it’s on eBay, pay through eBay, not through Venmo. Online marketplaces have security systems set in place to protect you from scams, but they can’t help you if you go outside of the marketplace.

Gucci Makes Quintessential Loafers. Here’s Why

Gucci Roos Horsebit Loafers, $690+

Welcome to Style Essentials, a regular column exploring the history, design and influence of iconic men’s wardrobe essentials. This week: Gucci loafers.

Florentine fashion house Gucci made a name for itself with luggage. In the early 1900s its founder, Guccio Gucci was working as a porter in various European hotels, notably London’s Savoy Hotel, when he was captivated by the opulent bags and trunks of well-to-do hotel guests. So, when he returned to Italy and in 1921, he started his own brand of luxury luggage aimed toward the Savoy-staying globe trotters. Employing local artisans to craft his wares, Gucci’s namesake brand was a hit with its intended audience. The brand’s appeal (aside from uncompromising quality) came with its equestrian-tinged designs, a hobby of the rich at the time. Bit hardware and green-red-green grosgrain both referenced horseback riding and eventually became associated with the brand’s luggage and clothes.

Decades later, Gucci had a watershed year. In 1953, its founder passed away on January 2 leaving his son, Aldo Gucci, to take over. The brand also stepped into the international market with the opening of its 5th Avenue Manhattan store, and the release of its iconic Gucci Horsebit Loafer. Men’s fashion writer Bruce Boyer notes that the earlier versions of the shoe were designed in the 1930s, the same decade as the iconic Bass Weejun penny loafers were cemented into the style annals. “Although the original version was constructed of heavier saddle leather, the design was what it remains faithful to today: a successful effort to retain the comfort of the moccasin while adding the fashion and elegance of a dressy shoe,” Boyer notes. “In short, it was the first shoe that bridged the gap between casual and business wear.” Regardless of dates — or tassel and Prince Albert variations — the new Gucci loafers became a fast favorite Ivy leaguers on campus and on holiday abroad.

But, it’s no surprise because loafers are a perfect hybrid. Not so on-the-nose as Cole Haan’s chimera sneaker-oxfords which enjoyed a shooting star moment before fading almost completely from existence. Loafers more elegantly combine the comfort of moccasin construction with the dress of a leather sole, often including a decorative element like a strap, tassels, or in Gucci’s case a bit of hardware. Loafers, those from Gucci especially, are planted firmly between dress and play, calmly standing its ground through fashion’s spectral oscillations like the perennial Levi’s 501. Gucci loafers have an American chassis, sleek Italian tread and a toe box that’s not too round nor too square (definitely not pointy). Some might read the callsign hardware as flashy, but the number of fashion cycles it’s been through has canonized it thoroughly.

And don’t let Gucci’s high-fashion associations illicit dubious thoughts regarding the Bit’s quality. The shoes are crafted in Gucci’s atelier in Italy, every step precisely approached by hand. The classic 1953 version features moccasin-style uppers built using premium leathers that are artisanally patinated with microscopic discernment. The uppers are then attached to the leather soles via resolable Blake stitch construction which is carefully hidden behind an invisible channel decorated with ornamental sole fudging. Finally, the shoes are crowned by the requisite horse-bit across the vamp.

The shoe takes up pages in style manuals such as The Official Sloane Ranger Handbook and archival Japanese magazines. It’s been reinterpreted into countless versions with pointier toes, backless uppers, fur lining, lugged soles and more. Even more imitators have followed in its wake, though none come with Gucci’s cachet. Aside from the chino-wearing sweaters of Princeton’s 1958 class, the Gucci loafers have been spotted on Francis Ford Coppolla paired with a military jacket; on Jodie Foster below corduroy trousers, a sweater vest and a flat cap; or on the red carpet in all manners of formal attire on the likes of Donald Glover and Harry Styles.

It’s not just the stylish and uber-famous set donning Gucci’s loafers, either. They’re still aspirational for many, and sought by even more (thankfully eBay exists). A pair back in 1974 would have cost you $59. Though inflation brings that to just over $300 today, you can expect to pay double that on 5th Avenue. In spite of that, the status shoe keeps growing. Gucci sales have ballooned from over $4.5 billion in 2016 to $9.2 billion in 2018.

The world is not short on shoes. Oxfords, Chelsea boots, Chuck Taylors — they’re all verified classics. And while the penny loafer may reign as the definitive loafer style, there is only one loafer — one shoe — that is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection. And, it bears the Gucci name.

The Best Body Exfoliants for an All-Over Smooth

You know that feeling of crawling into bed when the sheets are clean and crisp, and you’re fresh too? Nothing feels as satisfying.

Though one thing comes close: The feeling of freshly exfoliated skin, all over your body, chased with a nourishing body lotion or oil. Most of us are walking around every day, not realizing how much dead skin we’re lugging around, and how it’s inhibiting us from feeling smooth and refreshed.

It’s an easy feeling to catch, though, thanks to body exfoliators of all kinds. Our favorites are more traditional scrubs, utilizing sea salts, ground seeds, and sugars—and even pinot noir grapes. But there are exfoliating bar soaps, chemical exfoliant wipes, silicone brushes, and high-powered exfoliating massage devices, all of which help you achieve that refreshing sensation of having smooth, healthy skin.

Here are the best body exfoliants, to help you achieve satisfying levels of smooth.

Best Overall Body Exfoliant: OSEA Sea Salt Body Scrub

Courtesy

Salts of the Earth Body Scrub

OSEA amazon.com

$42.00

We’re big fans of salt scrubs, and OSEA’s worldly salt blend wins best in show. With salts sourced from the Himalayas, Bolivia, Dead Sea, and Utah Desert, it not only buffs away your roughest, driest skin, but it also helps soothe sore muscles, and dissolves nicely into your tub for an all-over soothing salt soak. It also utilizes shea butter and red algae, to help preserve the skin’s moisture-retaining and anti-aging barrier functions.

Best Upgrade Body Exfoliant: Vinésime Pinot Noir Body Scrub

Courtesy

Pinot Noir Grand Cru Body Scrub

Vinésime vinesime-us.com

$75.00

Like all of Vinésime’s products, this body scrub is made from pinot noir marc (the grape skins, seeds, and such that remain after winemaking). And better yet, it’s from Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret in Burgundy’s Richebourg region, utilizing organic Grand Cru grapes… so in short, it’s fancy, and even smells like a bottle of your best reserve. With a jelly texture, it’s a cinch to distribute around the skin, as you buff away rough patches, all without wasting a single precious drop. Furthermore, it uses grapeseed oil, which is rich in antioxidants and promotes collagen production + skin repair; it also has hyaluronic acid, which boosts the skin’s moisture retention and softness.

Best Budget Body Exfoliant: Dove Body Polish

Courtesy

Exfoliating Body Polish

Dove amazon.com

$10.00

Like any Dove product, 1/4 of this body polish is made of the brand’s proprietary moisturizing formula. It’s just as gentle on skin as any other Dove product, too, despite its crushed-macadamia grit. It’s difficult to use body scrubs conservatively, and they often disappear in as few uses as a bar of soap. So, it makes sense that frequent users may prefer a less expensive (but equally effective) option—and here it is.

Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish

Brown Sugar Body Polish

Fresh sephora.com

$67.00

Another popular exfoliating agent is sugar, which is gentler on skin than a salt scrub with the same intent. Those tiny sugar granules create a natural grit, and Fresh’s brown sugar blend also uses oils of jojoba, sweet almond, apricot kernel, and primrose to soothe and nourish the skin mid scrub. The addition of ginseng root and peppermint leave skin feeling tingly and fresh after the matter, too.

PMD 3-in-1 Smart Brush

Courtesy

Smart Body Cleansing Device

PMD amazon.com

$159.00

Retire your old back-scrubbing brush, in favor of PMD’s pulsating, 3-in-1 smart device. It channels 7,000 pulses per minute as it cleanses, scrubs, and massages the body. Between its silicone brush head and a silver-infused loofah, it’s antimicrobial and won’t gather bacteria like lesser loofahs and brushes. An aluminum oxide exfoliator helps smooth out calluses and rough patches. Plus, you can lather on some body oil after your shower and massage it into your freshly buffed skin using the massage head—it’s an entire spa in a single device.

Lumin Silicone Body Scrubber

Body Scrubber

Lumin luminskin.com

$16.00

If you’d rather not buy a product that needs refilling, then Lumin’s silicone body scrubber is the everlasting loofah alternative of your dreams. Unlike loofahs, it’s easy to keep clean, and it never loses its physical integrity. Use it to build a lather with any body wash, and to buff away any dead skin cells as you go. It even comes with a nifty suction holder, so that it can dry clean and upright in the shower.

Baxter of California Exfoliating Bar Soap

Courtesy

Exfoliating Body Bar

Baxter of California amazon.com

$19.00

Most scrub-infused bar soaps fall short of true exfoliating expectations. They’re too sparsely packed, or their ingredients lack any real grit. That’s what makes Baxter of California’s exfoliating bar soap the best in its league: It utilizes jojoba meal and crushed olive seeds, which are finely ground and densely packed, in order to smooth skin while it washes. Avoid any use on the face, unless you’re bringing it in for a sniff—its cedar + oakmoss scent is incredible.

Dr. Dennis Gross Exfoliating Body Treatment Wipes

Courtesy

Alpha Beta Exfoliating Body Treatment

Dr. Dennis Gross sephora.co,

$58.00

If you’re friction averse and want a once-weekly body buffing, then try these exfoliating wipes from Dr. Dennis Gross. They utilize a trio of exfoliating acids (glycolic, lactic, and salicylic), which together dissolve dead skin cells and help flush pores of any excess oil and grime. The result is smoother skin, especially when these wipes are used on clean skin before tucking oneself in for the night. They’re also terrific one-offs for the guy who only periodically needs a polishing.
