Today’s Best Deals: Designer Sunglasses from Stepani Style, Discounted Camping Essentials & Much More

Welcome to Deals of Note, where Gear Patrol captures all the best deals of the day. You can also follow all our deal posts in the Deals section. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at deals@gearpatrol.com.

Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, which means it’s the time of year you dust off your old sunglasses and realize you probably need an upgrade. Stepani Style can help with that. Put that pair of beater shades in the back of the drawer and take a look at these Tom Ford specs. While aviator styles can be a bit more highway-patrol than summer hang-out, the Cedric, Cyrille, and Ronnie frames are all relaxed enough to party while being bold enough to stand out. And even if those are a bit out there for you, the more easy-going Snowdon’s are still far from pedestrian. Available through Stepani Style, you can grab these — or a whole lot of other shades, for that matter — for 70% off the usual retail price.

Gear Patrol readers can also get an extra 15% off of styles already discounted by 70% from Stepani Style with the code Gear15. Stepani Style offers free shipping on all orders along with hassle-free returns.

Oak Street Bootmakers
Save up to 40%: The old adage goes something like this: Invest in your shoes, your sheets and your car tires, because they come between you and the ground. And common wisdom will tell you if you’re not currently using one — shoes, sheets or tires — you’re almost certainly using another. When properly cared for, an excellent pair of shoes or boots can last for a very long time, making them all the more investment-worthy from a cost-per-wear standpoint.

Even with that in mind, spending hundreds of dollars up front on a pair of shoes can be a tough sell when there are inexpensive (or downright cheap) pairs beckoning from the bargain aisle. We get that. It’s why we’re all the more excited about a sale event from the premiere American footwear producers at Oak Street Bootmakers, where you can save 20, 30 or even 40% on boots, shoes, loafers and moccasins made to last. Check out the full sale here. — Andy Frakes

Huckberry Backpack Memorial Day Sale
Save 40%:Evergoods first two backpacks, the Civic Panel Loader and the Mountain Panel Loader — or CPL24 and MPL30 for short — are on sale at Huckberry for 40 percent off right now. There are two reasons why you should take note of this.

Firstly, Evergoods is the brand to watch right now when it comes to backpacks. The small company is lead by Jack Barley, one of the original co-founders of GORUCK, and Kevin Dee, a former product engineer at Patagonia. Their combined expertise produces backpacks that are truly multi-purpose; the CPL24 works as an ideal around-town pack but has features, like a hydration sleeve and ports, that make it suitable for hiking too. On the other side, the MPL30 has an integrated hipbelt and lightweight aluminum frame for supporting heavier loads on the trail but includes a sleeve that can accommodate a laptop around town.

Secondly, Evergoods is still small, and its backpacks can sell out. To find them on sale is rarer still. If you are considering one of these two bags, how you plan on using it will guide your choice. If you need a hiking bag, go with the MPL30. If it’s an everyday pack that you’re looking for the CPL24 is the one. We’ve spent a lot of time with this bag in particular, and consider it to be the best all-purpose backpack available. Period. “This bag is simple, durable and understated,” notes one of our editors. “It’s got GoRuck vibes without screaming mil-spec intensity.” Simply put, nobody else is making a backpack like this.

Satisfy Memorial Day Sale
Save $80+:Satisfy makes some of the best running apparel in the world, but it also happens to be one of the most expensive, which is why we can’t believe that it’s on sale right now. The high-performance apparel company, founded by Brice Partouche, pulls heavily from his fashion background, and seamlessly blends technical features into every item. The minimalist and worn-in looks feature mostly black and white designs in a fabric that never chafes. Testers claim the gear is the best they’ve ever worn. The brand rarely has sales, so we’re shocked to find it up to 30 percent off. Sizes are limited, but shop while you can — these prices are likely never to be seen again. — Meg Lappe

Velomacchi Memorial Day Sale
Save up to 25%: A commute on two wheels can be the harshest part of your day, whether you cycle to and from work under your own power or sit over an internal combustion engine. The elements, the traffic, the exposure, it all takes a toll on you and the gear you use, so it makes sense to invest in durable equipment that lasts. Velomacchi uses designs, technology and construction fit for the National Gaurd and military Spec Ops, so it stands to reason something like the 28L Speedway Backpack can handle your nine-to-five rat race. Starting today and running until midnight on Memorial Day, Velomacchi is running a sale not just on its bags, but the entire site, where everything is 25 percent off. — Bryan Campbell

Today’s Best Deals: Stylish Essentials from Mott & Bow, Heavily Discounted Sonos Speakers & More

Welcome to Deals of Note, where Gear Patrol captures all the best deals of the day. You can also follow all our deal posts in the Deals section. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at deals@gearpatrol.com.

Mott & Bow started with the concept of getting premium jeans to people at a reasonable price. They accomplished this feat through precise denim science after years of experience within the denim industry. With jeans being one of the most classic staples a man needs, there was a natural progression that allowed Mott & Bow to take its denim philosophy and apply it to other classic items needed by the modern man.

Alongside the brand’s much-loved jeans, Mott & Bow company produces staple items like oxford shirts, t-shirts, sweaters and more with the same attention to detail, quality and comfort we’ve come to expect. You’re probably already looking to refresh your wardrobe for summer and everything that comes with it, making now the perfect time to update the classics you rely on day-in and day-out with stylish pieces you can rely on. At Mott & Bow, first-time purchasers can receive 15 percent off site-wide — all the more reason to start here.

Au Sabot L’Armor Mariner’s Knife
Save 40%: There’s a reason why knife blades come in various shapes — intended use is the primary one. Take Au Sabot’s L’Armor, a folding pocket knife with a somewhat blunted tip, for example. That shape is called a Sheepsfoot, not only because it resembles, in a way, an ovine hoof, but also because it’s a shape that has historically been used for farm work.

Au Sabot’s sheepsfoot knife references sailors though, not shepherds — specifically, 19th Century sailors embarking from England with a similar looking tool called The London. Characterized by a straight cutting edge and a spine that curves down to meet it at the point, sheepsfoot blades were ideal for seamen because the wide angle of the point helps prevent accidental puncture while, say, working on rigging while floating on an undulating ocean. The flat edge is ideal for slicing and straightforward cutting tasks. Sheepsfoot knives are practical by design, a fact that hasn’t changed in over two hundred years — today, the shape is often favored by emergency response teams.

Au Sabot’s L’Armor pocket knife still has that function at its heart, but it adds an appropriate amount of flair too. The four-inch blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, a well-rounded Swedish steel known for its hardness and toughness (it’s often used to make ice skate blades) and is available with handles made of palo santo, olive or horn. All three are currently available at Huckberry for 40 percent off (part of the discount applies after you drop it in your cart). — Tanner Bowden

HP’s New 2-In-1 Laptop Has the Quality You Want and the Tech You Need
Laptop design can feel a bit stale at times. Everything tends to skew sleek, thin and silver, with few if any makers breaking out of that mold. Considering this, HP’s Spectre Folio Laptop 13t is that much more impressive thanks to its inventive take on what a two-in-one laptop can look like.

The Spectre Folio is made with a magnesium frame that’s completely covered in a leather outer shell — save for the keyboard and screen — to give it an extremely distinct look. This essentially removes the need for placing the Spectre Folio in a traditional laptop sleeve. The hybrid hinge allows the touchscreen to fold into different modes for a versatile interface that handles whatever you need it to do. And thanks to the 8th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, it’s ideal for everyday use, from spreadsheets and presentations to surfing and streaming.

If you’re in the market for a hybrid laptop that features premium outside-the-box design and all the capability you need, now’s your time — you can acquire the Spectre Folio 13t for $100 off until June 1.

Save 10%: A pair of handmade hiking boots can cost as much as $750, but right now there’s a pair made by a small Italian brand called Naglev available for $208, which is 10 percent off its regular price of $230. Before you discount that as small change, know that the shoe, called the Unico Hiker, is unlike any other hiking shoe available (it’s also on our list of the best hiking boots available).

Naglev is based in the Alps, where outdoor footwear was invented, and it created the Unico to function as a middle ground between a hiking boot and a trail running sneaker. It calls to mind approach shoes (sturdy, low-cut hiking shoes typically used by rock climbers who face long treks through technical terrain on the way to a climb) but it’s built much differently. The upper is made of one single piece of Kevlar fabric — yes, the same stuff used to make body armor — and its inside is lined with a with a sock-like wool liner. This construction creates a remarkably durable shoe that’s unexpectedly comfortable, and entirely unique. — Tanner Bowden

Cotopaxi Fuego LT Down jacket
Save 50%: It might seem imprudent, foolhardy or even irresponsible to buy a down jacket when we’re a mere month away from the summer solstice — your cash is better spent on a bathing suit or a new hiking pack, right? Most will agree here, and both brands and retailers respond with discounts to move their insulating layers off the shelves. Cotopaxi is doing just that; it’s lightweight Fuego Down Jacket is currently 50 percent off, along with other items like windbreakers and fleeces.

Cotopaxi made the jacket with premium 950-fill water-resistant down that provides excellent warmth but is still slim and packable. The designers also included a touch of Polartec’s breathable synthetic Alpha insulation underneath the arms, and it has two interior and two exterior pockets. As far as down jackets go its regular price of $230 makes it notably affordable, but at $115, it’s the cheapest you’re likely to see a coat of this quality. For those with an adequate balance of foresight and patience, this deal is one not to miss. Plus, there are plenty of uses for down jackets in the summer too: hikes to higher elevations, chilly mornings and evenings and trips to the Southern Hemisphere are just a few. — Tanner Bowden

Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Sleeping Bag
Save $136: Mountain Hardwear debuted the Ghost Whisperer in 2012. The ultralight down jacket that weighs 7.8 ounces was the product of a collaboration with Swiss mountaineer Ueli Steck, who was an advocate for the fast-and-light approach to mountaineering. Despite its lightness, the jacket is windproof, water-resistant and warm. These same characteristics are present in the Ghost Whisperer Sleeping Bag, which Mountain Hardwear released last year in 20- and 40-degree versions. The bags are stuffed with water-resistant Q.Shield 900-fill down and feature super-light Whisperer exterior fabric, cinching mummy-style hoods and specially-designed no-snag zippers.

Acaia Pearl Coffee Scale
Save $49: The reason pour-over coffee is seen as the purest form of coffee brewing isn’t that it’s always the best, but because it’s really damn hard to do well. Every required step — heat water, weigh beans, grind beans, bloom grinds and pour — demands an array of micro-decisions that have a huge impact. What’s peak extraction temperature? How many pours is best? What’s the ideal grind size? It’s a balance of science and skill, and there are few tools better suited for it than Acaia’s Pearl scale.

The Pearl provides 20-millisecond response times and accuracy down to .1 grams. Because it shows both time and weight during the brew process, you’re able to adjust bloom time, water volume used and total brew duration more easily. And if you don’t like taking notes or can’t remember your exact recipe, the Pearl tracks all your brews — time, temperature and weight — via Bluetooth connection to your phone.

Today on Ebay, the Pearl is 24 percent off — good for a $49 savings. Don’t forget a kettle. — Will Price

Lodge Cast-Iron Camp Oven
Save $24: Lodge’s deep-set camp oven is 13 pounds of heat-insulating cast iron. Legs allow coals to heat it from the base, a handle makes for easier movement around the fire and a tight-fitting lid keeps the outdoors out of your meal. Unlike most modern cast-iron cookware, it is not a precious thing. Today on Amazon, pick up the 5-quart size — plenty big to serve stew for four to six people — at an all-time low price of $41. What should you cook in it? Here’s a good place to start. — Will Price

Save 21%: After months of testing and evaluation, we recently published an updated version of our guide to the best multi-tools available. Our list includes one significant change in that our new Editor’s Pick is Leatherman’s Free P2, which unseated Gerber’s Center-Drive. Both tools rank highly because they’re incredibly easy to use with one hand, making them practical for a wide variety of jobs and tasks, but the Free P2 edged out the Center-Drive because each one of its tools deploys with one hand, not just the pliers.

Julbo Cham Aviator Sunglasses

He also helped Julbo, a decades-old leader in mountain eye protection, test and refine eyewear. The Cham Sunglasses are a direct result of that collaboration.

Welcome to Deals of Note, where Gear Patrol captures all the best deals of the day. You can also follow all our deal posts in the Deals section. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at deals@gearpatrol.com.

Clarks Desert Boots
Save 30%:Few shoes have the kind of pedigree assigned to the Clarks Desert Boot — a simple suede chukka inspired by the crepe-soled boots worn by British officers in World War II. Sold by Clarks since the early 50s, the boots later became a favorite of style icons like Steve McQueen and Bob Dylan. Today, it’s the brand’s best-selling shoe, beloved for its unique combination of comfort, durability and polish. And, right now, you can score a pair in taupe suede for 30 percent off the normal asking price ($40 savings). — Jack Seemer

It also uses Breville’s ThermoJet heating system, which primes the machine for shot pulling in three seconds or less.

It is worth noting that this machine doesn’t have an auto-tamp function, a vital and often misunderstood step in the espresso making process (ChefSteps does a good job explaining how to tamp properly). — Will Price

Vasque Clarion ’88 Hiking Boot
Save 25%: It used to be that only self-proclaimed “outdoorsy folks” with a deep knowledge of vintage gear could spot the value in a battered pair of Bean Boots or a well-worn Patagonia fleece at thrift stores. Now it seems as though everyone is into retro outdoor gear, whether the aim is to wear it ironically in the field or make a style statement in the streets. Recently though, the brands have caught onto the nostalgia, and are now digging into product archives to make the old new again.

Some of it, like The North Face’s Rage ’92 collection, aims for style. Others products integrate decades of technical innovations into dated silhouettes to make items that work as well as they look. Vasque’s Clarion ’88 hiking boot is one such example; the boot first debuted over 30 years ago, but Vasque brought it back last year with a durable waterproof upper and Vibram rubber outsole that make it a reliable model for trail use to this day. It’s on sale at REI for 25 percent off right now, along with a full range of other models from brands like Merrel, Keen, Salomon and more. — Tanner Bowden

Today’s Best Deals: $20 Off Western Rise’s New Oxford Shirt, 65% Off Tom Ford Sunglasses & More

Welcome to Deals of Note, where Gear Patrol captures all the best deals of the day. You can also follow all our deal posts in the Deals section. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at deals@gearpatrol.com.

It’s no secret that Western Rise makes some of the best everyday pants out there. So the brand’s launch of a Kickstarter campaign for its new Limitless Merino Wool Oxford Shirt is something that caught our attention.

Western Rise has spent two years researching, developing and testing the Limitless Merino Wool Shirt to ensure it’s up to the highest standards. It blends style and comfort with the benefit of odor resistance, temperature regulation, wrinkle resistance, durability and breathability. That’s thanks to the high-grade Merino wool, which is sourced sustainably from Australian sheep farms and then blended with polyester for a knit fabric that exhibits the best properties of both materials. The result is a slim-yet-classic Oxford button-down that works perfectly in a business setting, but can also stand up to long layovers and airport sprints without batting an eye. To save $20 on the retail price of the Limitless Shirt on Kickstarter, pre-order yours between now and May 15.

Patagonia Nine Trails Backpack
Save 55%: While some hiking backpacks cram as many functions into as few liters as possible, others opt for the opposite tack: achieve utility through minimalism. This was precisely what Patagonia strove for in its Nine Trails packs, which launched last spring, and the company (as usual) landed its mark.

Instead of multiple compartments and various access points, the Nine Trails backpack has one spacious main compartment that’s accessed through a large U-shaped zipper. On the exterior are multiple stretchy sleeve-style pockets for storing items that need to be accessed routinely on the trail, like extra layers, water bottles and snacks. That’s essentially it, and the backpack is a success because of that simplicity (it’s one of our favorite daypacks for hiking). The bag isn’t without a couple of extras though — there are small zippered stash pockets inside, on the top and on the hipbelt, and a hydration sleeve with a port for the hose.

Compared to other hiking bags in Patagonia’s line, the Nine Trails is still new, but as long as you don’t mind last season’s colors — Classic Red and Sprouted Green — you can find the bag on sale for up to 55 percent off at Backcountry in both 20- and 28-liter capacities. — Tanner Bowden

Au Sabot Le Thiers Pocket Knife
Save 40%: France is the gravitational center of the culinary world, so it’s fitting that the country also produces some of the finest cutlery available. The focal point of that industry is Thiers, a town in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region that’s home to roughly one hundred knife making companies as well as a museum dedicated to the art and process. Thiers blades aren’t just for chefs though; knives of every kind are created there, including Au Sabot’s Le Thiers pocket knife, which is currently 40 percent off at Huckberry.

Au Sabot’s ode to Thiers is a handsome folding knife with a 3.5-inch blade made of carbon steel that’s available with handles made of hardwoods like rosewood and olive as well as more exotic materials like the horn of African buffalo. The knife’s form was developed by the Confrerie du Couteau Le Thiers, which means “Brotherhood of the Thiers Knife,” during the nineties to pay homage to the town’s 600-year history crafting blades. Fifteen local masters worked over months to design the Le Theirs. Au Sabot makes its version by hand in its factory there and includes a fold-out corkscrew in the handle, which, as the French might say, is quite à-propos. — Tanner Bowden

Save 40%: It’s easy to leave your umbrella at home when your only option is a three-foot-long behemoth that doesn’t fit in your work bag. But any time an afternoon thunderstorm rolls into town, you probably find yourself wishing you’d brought it — or had bought one to keep in your office as well.

That’s the real joy of a compact and lightweight umbrella: you can drop it into your briefcase, backpack or messenger bag and forget it’s even in there (until the next mid-day storm, anyway). This specific model from Snow Peak — one of our favorite brands — measures only nine inches folded, weighs just under five ounces and is designed to collapse during heavy wind gusts rather than breaking or ripping, meaning it’ll get you through the season and many more to come. Best of all, it’s on sale at Nordstrom for just $34 today — that’s savings of more than 30 percent.

Fitbit Versa Smartwatch
Save $20: Fitbit’s entry-level smartwatch, the Versa, is $20 off at Best Buy right now. The normally $200 smartwatch is a great option for anybody who doesn’t want to spend big on an Apple Watch, but still wants an easy way to track steps, calories burned, sleep and heart rate. Other than its looks — the Versa has a slim and lightweight design — a big selling point of this Fitbit smartwatch is its battery life; it can last several days, even if you wear it to bed. On the downside, the Versa doesn’t have a built-in GPS, meaning it’s not quite as capable a fitness tracker as other smartwatches.

Traska Freediver Watch
Save $50: With a 40mm stainless steel case, Seiko NH38A automatic movement, Super LuiNova lume, a 120-click unidirectional dive bezel and a sapphire crystal, the Traska Freediver is the perfect watch for summer, and best of all, you don’t have to allocate a month’s rent toward buying one. Right now, you can grab a Freediver in steel with a black sapphire bezel or in DLC-coated steel with a sapphire DLC bezel for just $350, or in steel with a stainless steel bezel for $375. — Oren Hartov

Right now you can take 24% one of two versions: a black dial with a green canvas strap or a tan-colored dial with a blue fabric strap. Oxo Burr Grinder
Save $20: Walk into a coffee shop and ask any person behind the counter what you can do to make better coffee at home, and we’re willing to bet the answer will be the same: grind your own beans.

The reason: ground beans go stale quickly. The second a bean is ground, the essential oils and trapped aromatics are released and begin to fade — thus, from the moment beans are chewed up in a grinder, a flavor loss clock begins ticking.

Today on Amazon, Oxo’s excellent entry-level electric burr grinder is on sale from $100 to $80, matching its all-time low price. The Oxo grinder features 15 separate grind level settings and stainless steel burrs. It can grind 12 cups worth of coffee in 30 seconds or less. — Will Price

EMPOWERD Luci Solar Lantern
Save 52%: An inflatable camping lantern comes across as a gimmick, but MPOWERD’s Luci is a practical way to add ambiance to base camp without weighing down your backpack. The Luci has 135-lumen LED bulb that sheds enough light to illuminate the inside of a tent or the surface of a picnic table. Best of all though is that it doesn’t need batteries because it comes equipped with a solar panel that charges up during the day when artificial light isn’t needed. The Luci Color, a version of the light that emits various hues, is on sale now for just $12 thanks to a 52 percent discount. — Tanner Bowden

Bose Solo 5 TV Sound System
Save $100: The Bose Solo 5 TV sound system is a soundbar that’s ideal for small rooms and apartments. Normally $200, eBay is selling it for half that. It’s relatively small and can be placed on top of media console or mounted to the wall. If you’re having trouble hearing the dialogue from your TV’s speakers, this soundbar is a surefire way to fix that. It also has built-in Bluetooth, so you can stream music to when the TV is not in use.

Butter Pat Estee Cast-Iron Skillet
Save 15%: All Butter Pat Industries hand-cast-iron skillets are produced in small batches, take a lot of time to make and are apparently the choice pan of famed Southern chef, Sean Brock. They’re smooth as hell, light enough to toss veggies in, sports pour spots that are actually useful and are among our favorite cast iron out there. But they’re also far more expensive than your average pan.

Today, Butter Pat’s best-selling 8-inch Estee skillet is on sale from $145 to $119 with code MOTHERSDAY19. This size skillet is good for a single steak, breakfast for two, cornbread and various other desserts and baking recipes. — Will Price

Orient Ray II Dive Watch
Save Over 60%: Japanese brand Orient offers some of the best value in mechanical watches. The Orient Ray II Automatic’s retail price of $335 is a pretty good value to begin with. The brand houses original works by names long cemented in design history: Charles and Ray Eames, Isamu Noguchi, George Nelson and more. Starting today, almost all of it is on sale.

The Herman Miller Spring Sale is the largest markdown on the company’s archival and recent work — a cool 15 percent off. Everything from the Eameses Lounge chair to Nelson’s Bubble lamps to the brand new Cosm office chair are on sale and ship for free. Happy shopping. — Will Price

Clarks Wallabees
Save 40%: Right now, you can save 40 percent on a pair of the Clarks Wallabee, a moc-toe shoe with a suede upper and an easy-wearing crepe sole.

While the Wallabee is a staple of the Clarks portfolio, it’s also the darling of a number of style experts and streetwear brands. In recent years, collaborations that riff on the Wallabee silhouette include OVO (Drake’s collective), Concepts and Supreme. If you want to pick up this iconic shoe for a solid deal, don’t miss this sale. — John Zientek

Adidas Ultraboost 19 Sale
Save $55: The Adidas Ultraboost 19 is down from $180 to $126 at Jackrabbit today in the white and red color. Back in December, Adidas launched the updated model of the ever-popular Ultraboost. We reviewed the shoe here and loved it for long runs. If you’re in the market for a shoe with plush cushion and a flexible and breathable upper, this shoe is for you. While there are limited sizes available, this is the first time we’ve seen the re-designed Ultraboost 19 on sale. Pick up a pair today at Jackrabbit. — Meg Lappe

Apple Watch Series 4
Save $50: New Apple products rarely discounted, so when they do it’s exciting. Take the Apple Watch Series 4. It was released this past fall and the cheapest model on Apple’s website still costs $399 — see here. You can occasionally find the same Series 4 on Amazon for $384, but it’s selling for well below that right now. At $349, it’s the cheapest that Amazon has ever discounted the Apple Watch Series 4. (This deal only applies to the 40mm model with a black sports loop band.) |

Oliver Peoples Sunglasses
Save 30%:If you’ve been waiting for a great sale to invest in a new pair of quality sunglasses, this is your chance. East Dane is currently offering 30 percent off a range of Italian-made shades from Oliver Peoples. Evergoods CPL 24 Backpack
Save $69: A good everyday backpack is simple, durable and understated, and you’ll find few better examples than the Evergoods Civic Panel Loader 24, which is currently $69 off at Huckberry (the best deal we’ve seen on this bag). Evergoods — a relatively young company started by an ex-Patagonia engineer and one of GORUCK’s original co-founders — makes its backpacks in small-batches at its headquarters in Bozeman, Montana.

Since the CPL 24’s debut in 2017, multiple Gear Patrol staff members have adopted it as their daily driver for getting to and from the office. That says a lot, given how many backpacks we test out for reviews and buying guides. But the CPL 24 stands out because it balances a minimal look with a full set of features; a 500D nylon shell fabric treated with a water-resistant coating, a curved back panel that’s both comfortable and breathable and a side-access laptop compartment that fits computers up to 15 inches are just a few. Plus, while the CPL 24 is the ideal around-town pack, it’s capable enough to handle an impromptu hike too (the backpack includes pass-throughs for hydration hoses on both shoulders). — Tanner Bowden

LG B8 55-Inch OLED TV (2018)
Save Over $500: The LG B8 is the company’s entry-level OLED TV, but its picture quality is just as good as the company’s higher-end model, like the LG C8. If you’re looking to get an OLED TV, this is one of the best deals we’ve seen. The deal is on a 55-inch model, which is rare because it’s a really popular-sized TV. (Most homes don’t need or can’t fit, a TV that’s larger than 55-inches.) And it’s going for a little over $1,000, which is a lot less expensive than what LG is currently selling its 55-inch LG B8 OLED TVs. | schubert c4 spark helmet motorcycle quiet

Schuberth C4 Spark Helmet
Save 53%: Riding a motorcycle is a delight for the senses, but it can grow a little weary on the ears after a while. Between the roar of the wind rushing past and the drone of the engine, it doesn’t take long for the sounds of a ride to push into the irritation zone—or even encroach on causing hearing damage.
Of course, a good helmet can help offset those potentially-deafening noises. And right now, one of the quietest helmets on the market today—the Schuberth C4 Spark Helmet—is on sale for a massive 53 percent off at RevZilla.
This sleek, compact helmet’s Direct Fiber Processing construction (it’s like carbon fiber, but with glass) means it weighs in at just a little over four pounds, but thanks to its German engineering—a process that included hours and hours of testing and aerodynamic optimization—your ears will think they’re encased in far more mass. Should the silence grow too off-putting, the Schuberth C4 Spark also comes with a speaker, microphone, and integral cell phone antenna pre-installed, as well as everything needed to plug the company’s SC1 communication system—which brings mobile phone integration, intercom functionality, and FM radio reception to the table—into the helmet. If you’ve been thinking about grabbing a new lid now that riding season has picked back up and you’re a fan of this German helmet’s style, there’s no reason to wait.

Save 34%: Kershaw’s blacked out Natrix pocket knife is down to just $28 today on Amazon. The handle and blade are sleek, yet tactical-looking. Filson’s high-quality shirts are known to be expensive. They typically cost around $115 — a significant chunk of change — and are extremely well-made and durable. But thanks to this sale from Zappos, several great Filson shirts are up to 55 percent off. That means you’ll pay as little as $52 for a shirt that’s likely to outlast everything else in your closet. Save Up to 20%: Last week, Burrow, the company that makes our favorite internet sofa, released an updated take on its original couches. The Nomad Collection comes with a slew of neat updates and a new leather upholstery option.

You could hop on the company’s new couch train, or you could take advantage of its newly discounted old ones — all of Burrow’s first sofas, loveseats, chairs and chaise kings are marked down between 15 and 20 percent off. They’re modular, covered in stain-resistant fabric, have a built-in USB cord, come in a variety of colors and ship for free. Available while supplies last. — Will Price

R.M. Williams Chelsea Boots
Save 25%:In 1932, Reginal Murray Williams founded his eponymous brand in Adelaide, South Australia, offering saddles, riding boots and other leather goods for cattlemen. The boots, in particular, were a hit. Made from a single-piece leather upper, they had a clean silhouette, a simple pull-on style and superior durability. And over the past eight decades, the design hasn’t changed much.
In recent years, however, the brand received investment from L capital — a private-equity fund sponsored by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) — along with IFM Investors and Hugh Jackman. The influx of resources and capital has allowed R.M. Williams to expand on a global scale, offering its iconic boots to a much wider audience. You can pick up a pair at East Dane, where the classic Chelsea boot style is now on sale.
Available in both full-grain leather and suede, it features elastic insets, branded pull-tabs and leather soles. The current sale offers 25 percent off — that’s savings up to $162. — John Zientek

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp
Save 37%: If there’s one camping accessory to buy heading into summer, it’s a headlamp, and Black Diamond’s Spot, which is currently only $25 at Amazon thanks to a 37 percent discount, is better than a safe bet. It’s simple, but don’t take that to mean that it’s basic. The Spot uses three AAA batteries, is fully waterproof, and features a main light with 300 lumens of brightness. According to Black Diamond, it can shoot a beam of light 80 meters (262 feet), but we’re more impressed by how easily you can swap between its various modes (beam, flood, strobe, red night vision) and how its brightness is adjustable as necessary.

Black Diamond recently updated the Spot — it’s smaller, brighter and has a second button — and the model that’s on sale is the older one. At $25, it’s still an excellent deal on an even better headlamp that we’ve considered to be the best for years, but if you have to have what’s new, it’s only $15 more (you can buy it here). — Tanner Bowden

Succulents on Amazon
Save 25%: If you are someone with a thing for succulents, you need to get to Amazon quickly.

Part of today’s lot of Amazon Deals of the Day, a whole mess of succulents (and bonsai trees, for what it’s worth) are discounted by 25 percent. The sale includes everything from packs of five to packs of twenty, all pre-potted with soil.

If you’re new to keeping plants alive, here’s the short of it: succulents don’t need water often, prefer long bouts of direct sunlight and take up very little space. Buy a pack of 20 and dole them out on Mother’s Day. — Will Price

Bose QuietComfort 35 II
Save $80: You can buy the normally $350 headphones on eBay for $270 — that’s $80 off. They are refurbished which might be a red flag for some, but this is still the best deal we’ve seen on the Bose QuietComfort 35 II in a long time. You can occasionally find them discounted on Amazon or Best Buy for $300, but it’s not that often. The discount only applies to black models.

This week, the brand is going even further, offering a discount of 15% off purchases of $49+ or 25% purchases of $99+ with the discount code “TREATYOURSELF.” Whether you need a watch for the beach or something with a 12-hour bezel for keeping track of a second time zone, Timex has a summer watch for you. — Oren Hartov

Helinox Chair One Camp Chair
Save $55: Unlike a tent and a sleeping bag, the camp chair is a piece of outdoor furniture that many of us are perfectly okay with leaving behind. For many, the most packable of them aren’t comfortable enough to warrant schlepping up the side of a mountain, and the most comfortable are too cumbersome for any campsite that’s too far from a vehicle. Enter Helinox’s Chair One: it weighs roughly two pounds and packs down smaller than many sleeping bags yet offers elevated seating (so your bum won’t freeze on the ground) and comfortable back support. Helinox achieved this by building the chair with folding aluminum DAC poles that come together just like the ones your tent uses. The seat is nylon and mesh.

With the Chair One, it doesn’t matter where you stand in regard to backcountry seating — if you hate camp chairs, this is the one to turn you; if you love them, here’s your upgrade. It’ll work for camping trips but can also handle outings to the neighborhood park and is perfect for outdoor concerts too. It’s also marked down by 44 percent — that’s $55 off — at Mountain Steals. In addition to the Chair One deal, Mountain Steals is offering discounts on more packable outdoor seating from Helinox; there’s a larger (and smaller) version of the Chair One, a rocking chair, a swivel chair and more. — Tanner Bowden

Starting at $48, the three-, six- and eight-quart models are all marked down to prices that match all-time lows on Amazon. The Duo does everything that made the Instant Pot famous in the first place: pressure cook, slow cook, steam, sautee and a whole pile of presets for specific foods (chili, yogurt, soup and so on). But unlike the newer and more premium Ultra and Max models, it doesn’t have an LCD display or a few more fringe preset cooking modes. If you’re cooking for more than one person, we recommend upgrading to the six-quart Duo. If you’re new to the Instant Pot landscape, let some of our favorite IP-specific recipes be your guide. — Will Price

Save 40%: If you’ve been looking to update your warm-weather wardrobe, you should consider picking up a long sleeve polo shirt from Jomers. Saint Unbreakable
Save Up to 40%: Saint Unbreakable prides itself on finding the happy medium between functional and fashionable motorcycle apparel. While Saint Unbreakable clothing does carry a timeless vintage style, it also incorporates a liberal amount of Dyneema for abrasion resistance. The upside to the brand’s method and style is there’s no extra bulk so Saint’s riding jeans and jackets can be worn pretty much anywhere, off the bike. On the other hand, the single layer construction is just that and only acts as protection against slides, not hard knocks as there is no armor for impacts.

That’s not to say you should pass on what Saint Unbreakable has to offer. If you’re looking for more casual riding gear for around town, chances are Saint Unbreakable has what you’re looking for. It is more of a lifestyle brand so prices will be on the higher side, but luckily, today, you can save up to 40% on a whole bunch of Saint Unbreakable apparel, from jeans and jackets to shirts and hats. — Bryan Campbell

On its own, a compass will show where North, South and every direction between are. Paired with a map (and some knowledge — REI has a great guide on how to use a compass), a compass acts just like that app on your phone. It’s a smart thing to keep in your hiking backpack for those just-in-case moments, and right now a great one from Suunto, a brand known for its high-end GPS watches, is on sale at Massdrop for 42 percent off. — Tanner Bowden

Sony WH-H900N Noise-Canceling Headphones
Save $100: The Sony WH-H900N is essentially a less premium and more affordable alternative to the Sony WH-1000XM3, which is arguably the best noise-canceling headphones you can buy. The two headphones look very similar, but the WH-1000XM3 is more feature-packed and boasts better noise-canceling skills. On the flip side, the WH-H900N is way more affordable today.

Spinnaker Cahill Automatic Dive Watch
Save 68%: Spinnaker’s Cahill automatic dive watch is a decent value at its retail price of $410, but currently marked down by 68% to $130, there’s little reason not to pull the trigger if one of the three available versions grabs your attention. — Zen Love

16-Inch Knife Block
Save 50%: In 2013, the National Sanitation Foundation conducted a series of studies aimed at identifying the grimiest areas of our homes. Amongst spatulas, ice makers, can openers and your refrigerator meat compartment, the knife block made the list. Luckily, the alternative is better in literally every way.

Knife bars — like Modern Innovations’s discounted 16-inch option — are magnetic strips you fix to a wall or the side of the fridge. You don’t run the risk of bacteria growth with them and they cost significantly less than a block of wood. Plus, they don’t dull your knives. Cook’s Illustrated found knives stored in a block dulled far more quickly than other methods of storage (they recommend knife bars as well).

Pick up a full-sized knife bar for $17 on Amazon today. — Will Price
