Apple Watch Series 3 (38mm)
Save $80: The Apple Watch Series 3 is on sale on Amazon right now for $199, which is $80 off its normal price. It’s the lowest price that Apple’s smartwatch has dropped to, and it’s a great deal for most people looking to buy their first Apple Watch. The catch is that this on-sale Series 3 is only available in a 38mm model, meaning you probably need to have a small wrist to wear it. (The 42mm model is not on sale.) grey_placeholder

Patagonia Black Hole Duffel
Save 30%: If you’ve never heard of Patagonia’s Black Hole duffel bags, you’ve likely spotted one in an airport, foreign train station or strapped to the roof of an overlander. Patagonia built the weather-resistant and sturdy bags to last decades with a rugged TPU-laminated ripstop nylon. They also include removable backpack straps that make carrying one a breeze, even when it’s fully loaded. The 60-liter version is arguably the most versatile size; it’s big enough to pack everything you’ll need for a weekend or a week, and it still fits into the overhead bins on planes. We’ve put this bag through its paces on all kinds of adventures, from a ski weekend in Vermont to a month-long trip to Ecuador. It’s one of the best rugged duffel bags available, and right now it’s also 30 percent off at Backcountry in nearly every volume. — Tanner Bowden grey_placeholder

Save up to 52%: It’s a rare occurrence when you can find discounted footwear from Red Wing Heritage. But every so often, Nordstrom Rack offers a range of shoes and boots from the brand at highly-reduced prices. Often, the styles are European or Japanese market styles or factory seconds, and the savings are usually at least half off. Currently, you can save up to 52 percent on shoes and boots from Red Wing Heritage. For the widest range of sizes, check out the derby shoes and work oxfords — they’re all $150 or less. — John Zientek

Orient Bambino Dress Watch
Save $200: We love the Orient Bambino for its vintage-inspired dial, domed crystal and, not least of all, its automatic movement. With a retail price around $300, it’s always been a great value for the money (it’s one of our favorite watches under $500), but now you can grab one on Amazon for about $100 (depending on dial color), making it an even more affordable dress watch option. — Oren Hartov

Wüsthof’s Classic Chef’s Knife
Save 45%: The market for chef’s knives is made of tiers. Every major knife manufacturer has a value knife that goes for $30 to $45 that’s typically made of hardwearing, easy-to-dull stainless steel (think Victorinox’s Fibrox knife). The second tier, priced just under $100, is filled with knives made with steel that keep an edge longer, but aren’t forged and thus susceptible to chipping. Starting around $150, the third tier is where you’ll find sturdy, forged chef’s knives that remain sharper for longer and pay greater attention to handle ergonomics. This tier is typified by knives like Wüsthof’s Classic 8-Inch Chef’s Knife — a forged, wide bevel knife designed in a classically German style.

Today on Ebay, you can get it for 45 percent off — or a savings of $75. That’s $60 cheaper than its listed price on Amazon. — Will Price

Seagate Backup Plus Portable (5TB)
Save $60: Right now, Amazon is selling the Seagate Backup Plus Portable hard drive with 5TB of storage for less than $100. It’s a pretty great deal that saves you $60. The portable hard drive can be hooked up to either a Mac or Windows desktop or laptop via a simple USB cable (included), so you can backup all your files. This is ideal for anybody that doesn’t want to rely on (or pay for) a Cloud-based storage solution. Also, 5TB is a huge amount of storage — most likely enough to backup your entire computer and then some.

BioLite Headlamp and More Sale
Save 35%: We’re big fans of Biolite’s HeadLamp that dropped earlier this year, thanks to its lightweight, easy to adjust and extremely comfortable design. We reviewed it late last year and were impressed with its abilities to shine on Mt. Marcy in upstate New York and along the dark streets of Brooklyn on night runs. If you’re planning a camping adventure this summer, now’s the perfect time to stock up on whatever lights you need to stay seen and see. Biolite’s HeadLamp is currently 15 percent off on BioliteEnergy.com. While you’re there, check out the additional products for up to 35 percent off, like the CampStove, FirePit and our favorite, the SunLight. — Meg Lappe

But if want a simple and dependable printer for your home office, this is what you want.— Tucker Bowe

You’ll have to poke around to find your size and the perfect color. — Meg Lappe

Herman Miller Aeron
Save 55%: By virtually any measure, Herman Miller’s Aeron task chair is one of, if not the, greatest desk chair of all-time. Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick’s design features supreme adjustability: seat height, arm height, lumbar support, reclining tension and forward and rear tilt locks. It was the first successful integration of airy mesh into task chair design. Shoot, it even earned a spot in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. Fair or not, any company that releases a high-end office chair today must bear comparison to the Aeron.

Today, the Aeron is 55 percent off on Ebay. These specific products are open-box models, which means they’re somewhere between new and used — so it’s fair to approach with caution (it may be worth contacting the seller before dropping close to $500). That said, this is about as affordable as an Aeron will go for. — Will Price

Today’s Best Deals: Mott & Bow’s Comfortable Jeans, Get Up to 80% Off Noise-Canceling Earphones & More

Welcome to Deals of Note, where Gear Patrol captures all the best deals of the day. You can also follow all our deal posts in the Deals section. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at deals@gearpatrol.com.

Most denim produced these days includes a bit of stretch — typically one to two percent is standard. Stretch, in this case, equates to comfort since the fabric moves with you instead of staying rigid. Mott & Bow’s latest soft twill denim line offers a greater percentage of stretch without losing a familiar feel. Made with 20-percent stretch Mercer denim, these jeans are probably the most comfortable you’ll ever wear.

The Mott & Bow soft twill denim is available in both slim and straight cuts and five washes (two shades of khaki, two shades of blue and olive green). The range of colors is incredibly versatile and you can wear them just like your favorite pair of chinos. So if you’re in the market for a new pair of comfortable go-anywhere pants, these jeans are worth checking out this summer.

Get 10 percent off your first Mott & Bow purchase when visiting its site through this story.

Jabra Elite 65e Noise-Canceling Earphones
Save $160: The Jabra Elite 65e headset is arguably the best value proposition for anybody who wants in-ear headphones with active noise cancellation. If you’re looking for a really sweet deal on in-ear noise-canceling headphones, you can buy a refurbished pair of Jabra Elite 65e on eBay for just $40. That’s a pretty steep discount.

Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses
Save 55%:In the world of sunglasses, it doesn’t get much more iconic than a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers. First released in 1956, the design has hardly changed in over half a century. What’s more, these Italian-made shades also come with polarized lenses to protect your eyes all summer long — hard to beat that. — John Zientek

Today, it’s the brand’s best-selling shoe, beloved for its unique combination of comfort, durability and polish. Saint Unbreakable Gloves
Save 40%: Summer is just about here, and with it, the gorgeous days and rising temperatures that spark the temptation to jump on a motorcycle and just riiiiiide. Saint Unbreakable’s vintage-style motorcycle gear has often impressed us in the past, and the company’s gloves are no exception; deer skin leather and a Merino wool lining keep things comfortable, while a reinforced double-layer palm and advanced denim construction provide protection for a four-second, 50-meter slide. Save $40:The BeatsX in-ear headphones were released in early 2017 and they were significant at the time because they were the first wireless headphones — bar AirPads — to feature Apple’s W1 chip, which allowed them to pair with any iPhone. They were also sweat resistant, which AirPods weren’t (and still aren’t), so it was much safer to run or workout them. The problem, however, was that at launch the BeatsX were priced at $150, making them a hard sell considering the truly wireless AirPods were just a few bucks more expensive. Now, however, you can get a pair on eBay for just $60. — Tucker Bowe

LG C7 55-Inch OLED 4K HDR TV
Save $500 When it comes to TV tech, it’s hard to beat OLED. Despite the high price, the rich colors and inky blacks are unmatched. LG’s 4K HDR OLED C7 Series made it on Gear Patrol’s Best 100 products of 2017, and now you can get it for under a grand at B&H Photo, which is a steal.
The C7 has been supplanted by the newer C8, but the older model’s picture is still stunning in comparison to an LED set. Also, the version on offer from B&H is technically the C7C, a commercial model that appears not support Google Assistant, as The Verge points out, but which comes with a three-year warranty as opposed to the one-year warranty that’s standard for consumer grade sets. The deal lasts until the end of June 12th.

Patagonia Nine Trails Backpack
Save up to 50%: While some hiking backpacks cram as many functions into as few liters as possible, others opt for the opposite tack: achieve utility through minimalism. This was precisely what Patagonia strove for in its Nine Trails packs, which launched last spring, and the company (as usual) landed on its mark.

Instead of multiple compartments and various access points, the Nine Trails backpack has one spacious main compartment that’s accessed through a large U-shaped zipper. On the exterior are multiple stretchy sleeve-style pockets for storing items that need to be accessed routinely on the trail, like extra layers, water bottles and snacks. That’s essentially it, and the backpack is a success because of that simplicity (it’s one of our favorite daypacks for hiking). The bag isn’t without a couple of extras though — there are small zippered stash pockets inside, on the top and on the hipbelt, and a hydration sleeve with a port for the hose.

Compared to other hiking bags in Patagonia’s line, the Nine Trails is still new, but as long as you don’t mind last season’s colors — Classic Red and Sprouted Green — you can find the bag on sale for up to 50 percent off at Backcountry in both 20- and 36-liter capacities. — Tanner Bowden

Today’s Best Deals: Ace and Everett’s Stand-Out Socks, Common Projects Sneakers & More

Welcome to Deals of Note, where Gear Patrol captures all the best deals of the day. You can also follow all our deal posts in the Deals section. Comments or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at deals@gearpatrol.com.

You need socks that can stand up to the rigors of everyday life with style. Luckily, the American-made socks from Ace & Everett cover those bases with aplomb. Founded by two brothers, the brand is named after and inspired by the pair’s grandfather, Raymond “Ace” Everett Disch, whose own sense of style always started with a great pair of socks. Ace & Everett’s goal is to inject a bit of fun and personality into the usually-bland area of men’s hosiery.

But the socks can’t just look good, they need to be well-made too — otherwise, no one would ever be back for a second pair. To get that athletic-sock comfort and durability with dress-sock style, Ace & Everett partnered with a fifth generation family-run mill in North Carolina. They then made use of US-grown organic Supima cotton for a product that’s soft to the touch yet distinctly high quality. The stay-up technology of ribbed calf bands and no-slip heels mean they won’t come down on you, while the padded sole and jacquard knit deliver pillowy comfort all day long. As if this wasn’t appealing enough, you can head over to Ace & Everett’s site and receive a discount of 20% off your order with the code Gear20.

Its six different cleaning modes are a few too many, and the smartphone pairing camera tracking is perhaps a step too far into smart-everything, but its real-time pressure aide and a plethora of affordable, replaceable brush heads are a major plus. It’s also got the American Dental Association’s Seal of Acceptance.

At nearly 50 percent off, its price has never been lower. — Will Price

All-Clad Stainless Steel Cookware
Save 52%: What’s the difference between quality stainless steel cookware and cheap stainless steel cookware? Easy: the former has even heating, balanced weight and increased durability. The downside, of course, is cost.

Today at Macy’s, the most-respected stainless steel cookware in the world is selling discounted pots and pans — in bulk. All-Clad’s seven-piece collection of stainless is marked down from $630 to $300. The set includes a sauté pan, fry pan, stock pot and a saucepan. This is as cheap as it gets. — Will Price

Traeger Wood Pellet Grill
Save 25%: Traeger, the company that invented the wood pellet grill, has made better grills than its Texas Elite model. Earlier this year it unveiled a new series of grill-smokers that connect to Wi-Fi, pre-heat quickly and are fully controllable through smartphones. The past-generation Texas Elite doesn’t do these things, but it still does everything you need it to, and it’s 25 percent off right now.

For those unfamiliar with wood pellet grilling, they work by way of an auger pushing tiny hardwood pellets into flames based on temperature readings from an internal computer. You set the temperature you want to cook at — about 150 to 400 in this case — and it does the fire tending for you. This means you have a grill that is fired by a natural, flavor-imparting fuel that you don’t need to stand next to all day. It’s essentially a hands-off smoker mixed with a capable wood grill.

Today on Amazon, it’s $225 off its regular price, or the lowest price it’s ever been. — Will Price

Save $130: Making a decent espresso at home requires a lot. You need a scale to weigh out a proper shot, you need a burr grinder to ensure you’re using fresh grounds and you need an espresso maker to pull everything together. The alternative is to get an espresso maker with all that built-in, and then some. Something like Breville’s Barista Express.

Among Breville’s line of espresso makers, the Barista Express stands out — it’s got all the additive performance features of its higher-priced siblings, but it’s the only all-in-one maker that’s not $1,000 or more. It’s got a built-in grinder and dose control, plus it’s operable in automatic and manual modes. Spyderco’s Endela, which is currently on sale for 35 percent off at Drop, exerts that same essence of simplicity in all of its features. It has a 3.4-inch VG-10 stainless steel drop-point blade and a synthetic handle that keeps its overall weight low (3.1 ounces). That moment is now; Yeti recently dropped the price on one of its original soft-sided coolers, the Hopper Two 30, from $300 to $240.

Yeti made the Hopper Two 30 with its DryHide Shell, which is waterproof from the outside, leak-proof from the inside and resolutely puncture-resistant. Cap Barbell Set
Save $20: Taking care of yourself can be expensive. Healthy eating, breathable clothes, the inevitable physical therapy sessions, and of course gym memberships all really add up. The 40-pound set comes with four collars, two handles, four 2.5-pound plates, and four 5-pound plates all in a convenient carrying case. Fox Knives Suru
Save $53: Blade Show, the annual cutlery industry trade show that takes place in Atlanta, Georgia each year, is just around the corner. Last year, Fox Knives worked with designer Jesper Voxnaes to produce the Suru, the blade that took home the event’s grand prize distinction of Knife of the Year. Coincidentally, that knife is currently on sale at The Drop for 23 percent off.

The Suru won the top prize at Blade Show 2018 because its ultralight skeletonized handle was the first to use a carbon fiber frame lock. Overall, the knife weighs just 2.04 ounces. The version that’s on sale doesn’t use carbon fiber though — but you can find that knife for sale at BladeHQ — it uses aluminum. That bumps its weight up to three ounces but allows for a couple of new colorful finishes.

Beyond the handle, nothing else about the Suru has changed. It has a drop-point blade that’s 2.32 inches long and it wielders can deploy it using either a thumbhole or flipper tab. To build more utility into his small-ish pattern, Voxnaes gave the Suru two choils (the unsharpened finger cutouts where the blade meets the handle) that allow for a firm and full-handed grip. — Tanner Bowden

Addaday Softy Plus Foam Roller Sale
Save 60%+:The Addaday softy plus foam roller is the lowest price we’ve seen on a roller this soft. Typically, it’s $30, and today it’s down to just $9. Foam rollers help warm up your muscles before a workout, as well as stretch them out post-sweat. Having one in your apartment, home gym or office is always a good idea. It helps promote mobility, which keeps your muscles and joints performing at their peak, so activities of daily living (sitting, walking, eating, standing) remain as easy as they are right now for the rest of your life.

Foam rollers typically have a bad rap for being super tough, and thus hard on your muscles, but this soft one is a good place to start. And once you’ve worked your way up, you can always check out a vibrating one (albeit way more pricey). Whether you’ve upped your weekly workouts, or are just starting a new routine, adding this $9 foam roller to your warm up and cool down is the best idea you can have. — Meg Lappe

Lawson Hammock Blue Ridge Hybrid Camping Hammock
Save 21%: During the warm summer months, we’re more than happy to trade out our tents to sleep in a hammock. But we also understand the misgivings held by hammock initiates — a primary one being that they leave you exposed to weather and insects. Our rebuttal: not all hammocks do; take Lawson Hammock’s Blue Ridge Camping Hammock, which is currently 20 percent off at Huckberry, as exemplar.

It’s best to understand the Blue Ridge as a hammock-tent hybrid. Using collapsible aluminum poles and a line that acts as a central beam, the Blue Ridge has an interior space that’s fully enclosed by mesh, and it comes with a rain fly for use in rough weather. More than that, it uses spreader bars on both ends to create a flatter sleeping surface than other ultralight camping hammocks that envelope sleepers in a cocoon. (Pro tip: you can prevent your body from contorting into a banana shape by lying diagonally in a hammock.) When there are no trees in sight, you can also set up the Blue Ridge on the ground, just as you would a regular tent.

Additionally, Kammok’s Roo Double, a more classic style of camping hammock, is also 37 percent off at Huckberry too. — Tanner Bowden

garmin speak amazon alexa sale

Garmin Speak with Amazon Alexa
Save 50%: Amazon’s Alexa is already a staple of homes around the world, allowing people to perform all kinds of once-laborious tasks as easily as raising their voice. It’s also begun making its way into cars. Several brands, such as Ford, BMW and Hyundai, have all added Alexa capabilities to their new vehicles, and that list of manufacturers is sure to grow as the years go by.
If you’re not in the market for a new car, though, that doesn’t do you much good. Luckily, there are plenty of aftermarket add-ons by reputable companies that can bring Amazon’s virtual assistant to any vehicle. The Garmin Speak With Amazon Alexa is a small, simple gadget that sticks to your windshield; by pairing with your phone via Bluetooth and leveraging its data connection, the Speak can be used to communicate with smart gadgets at your home or office, play music from SiriusXM or Pandora (Spotify capabilities should be added eventually), create lists of things to do or coordinate with your calendar, even play games. And of course, it is a Garmin, the first name in aftermarket navigation systems — so it’ll happily give you turn-by-turn directions, too. It’s normally $100, but you can snag it today on Amazon for just $50.

Kammok Roo Double Camping Hammock Bundle
Save $48: There’s no right or wrong way to camp — the old sleeping-bag-in-a-tent method is perhaps the most traditional, but there’s nothing wrong with bedding down directly on the ground, beneath the stars and next to a lowering fire, either. Somewhere between these two choices is hammock camping, and right now one of the best camping hammocks available, Kammok’s Roo Double, is on sale at Huckberry for 37 percent off, a savings of nearly $50.

The main benefit of hammock camping is that you save weight. Instead of sacrificing half of the space in your pack to a tent and hauling it miles up a trail, you can instead carry a bed the size of a grapefruit. The Roo Double weighs only 22 ounces but can hold up to 500 pounds with Kammok’s tree-friendly Python Straps, which usually are sold separately but included in this discounted bundle. Another possibly more significant argument for hammock camping is that it’s fun, particularly during the summer months when being rocked to sleep by a warm breeze is preferable to roasting in a tent. — Tanner Bowden

Seiko Prospex PADI Dive Watch
Save Almost 50%: Powered by the cal. V157 quartz movement, the PADI special edition features a 47mm case, Hardlex mineral crystal, date display, Lumibright-coated hands and markers and a unidirectional rotating dive bezel. It’s water-resistant to 200m and features a screw-down crown and case back. Once fully charged, the power reserve on the V157 movement lasts roughly 10 months.
If mechanical watches aren’t your thing, then this PADI special edition could be your water watch this summer.— Oren Hartov

Moccamaster Coffee Maker
Save $79: Among its features and accolades, two things are most crucial: copper tube heating and the ability to disassemble. Copper coils, given the material’s natural heat conductivity, heat the water much more quickly than machines using steel or other methods (the only machine we’ve tested that brews faster is Breville’s Precision Brewer). The ability to take the whole thing apart is also unique, and it allows for troubleshooting and fixing at home rather than losing your source of coffee to the mail for a few weeks (it’s also great for cleaning the machine).

Today, Moccamaster’s KBS model is $79 off on Drop. It’s basically a blacked-out version that uses a glass carafe and hot plate rather than the classic stainless steel thermo-carafe. — Will Price
