KLM Flying-V Concept Passenger Aircraft

Ever since the aviation industry officially retired the Concorde, there has been no major redesign of the commercial plane. Right now the major players the service flights globally are Boeing and Airbus. However, the most recent crashes involving a Boeing 737 Max is becoming a big problem for the manufacturer. Meanwhile, there are reports of a new concept aircraft called the KLM Flying-V. One look at its unique design tells us that this could be the future.

As it stands right now, the focus seems to be shifting over to personal flight and flying taxis. In fact, a lot of companies are testing their prototypes. So far everything is looking good, but the KLM Flying-V concept is about to shake up the industry all over again. Unlike conventional aircraft that houses its passengers within the fuselage, it offers a quirky approach instead. The name says it all because this commercial aircraft looks like one giant wing.

Therefore, the seating arrangement technically places passengers on its wings. This odd form factor apparently reduces the overall weight. Likewise, the shape supposedly minimizes aerodynamic drag, therefore it will be more fuel-efficient than traditional passenger aircraft.

Additionally, the company is planning to showcase more about the KLM Flying-V in October. The man responsible for the design is Justus Benad, introducing the concept back in 2015. We’re looking at a commercial airliner that can accommodate up to 314 passengers. Moreover, the wingspan measures 212 feet, just like that of an Airbus A350. This means that it will be compatible with existing infrastructures in airports around the world.

EVA Air Royal Laurel Business-Class By BMW Designworks

If you are the type of traveler that doesn’t want to compromise your comfort and luxury, then the only acceptable choice would be first class or business. The former is for passengers who desire the prestige and extra perks close to that of a 5-star hotel. Meanwhile, the latter is perfect for individuals who want a balanced mix of comfort and space for productivity mid-flight. EVA Air recently teased its upcoming fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Apparently, each one will boast classy furnishings and upscale seating designed by BMW Designworks.

According to the Taiwanese airline, it opted to focus its resources to create an opulent yet functional cabin environment. It will cater to people who want a comfortable and productive flight. This stylish new installation will be available on all of the company’s Royal Laurel accommodation.

A preview of the new setup reveals that the business-class section of each Boing 787 Dreamliner will tout a 1-2-1 seating configuration. The paired middle seats feature an adjustable privacy panel. This is useful in case you don’t want to hold a friendly conversation with your fellow traveler. Comfort is the name of the game as each seat reclines into a flat 76-inch bed.

There are enough storage cabinets for most of the stuff you might need during work and a slide-out tray is available if needed. BMW Designworks and its touch of class are currently exclusive to EVA Air, for now, so book your flights early to experience it firsthand.
