In the past year, Marshall released its first wireless over-ear headphones and its first multiroom speakers. Now, the company that’s best known for its iconic rock ‘n’ roll amplifiers, continues its push into mainstream audio with the Mid ANC ($269) — the company’s first active noise-canceling headphones.

Like its amps, the Mid ANC headphones sport Marshall’s famed design of all-black with brass details; they look very similar to Marshall’s other on-ear headphones, the Mid Bluetooth ($80). With ANC turned on, the Mid ANC supposedly get 20 hours of playtime. With ANC turned, that wireless battery life jumps up to 30 hours.

A unique feature with the Mid ANC, like with the Mid Bluetooth, is that a somebody else can plug their headphones into the Mid ANC’s 3.5mm jack and listen to the same music. The Mid ANC have 40mm drivers and support Bluetooth aptX. They also have a multi-directional know on the side of the right ear cup, which lets users play/pause and control the volume of the music, as well as answer calls. Additionally, they have a collapsible design and come with a convenient travel pouch that’s lined with velvet.

Marshall’s new Mid ANC headphones are on-ear headphones, meaning they probably won’t be at passive noise-canceling as other over-ear headphones, but at $269 they’re definitely cheaper than the likes of Bose QC35 IIs ($350) or Sony’s 1000XM2 ($349). For those looking for more affordable ANC headphones with an on-ear design, and if you’re a fan of Marshall’s rock ‘n’ roll flair, these headphones are available now on the company’s website.
