When it comes to technology, innovation is the key component to make your products stand out. There used to be a time when Apple was the shining star of the industry, but now, Android is clearly breaking the mold among smartphones. When the notch made its debut on the iPhone X, other brands were quick to copy the idea.
The goal is to finally offer a mobile phone that as close to being bezel-less or notch-less. Various unique workarounds were introduced, but it seems like a motorized pop-up camera is a solution. That’s why the new Huawei P Smart Z is relying on this unique function.
With flagship-tier smartphones such as the Vivo Nex S and Oppo Find X using the feature beforehand, Huawei is kind of late to the game. Nonetheless, it does not mean the P Smart Z is a doomed project. With a price of $313, it’s a worthy contender in the mid-range market.
The novelty of using a capable Android smartphone that does not sport a notch is still a good selling point. It’s a solid and premium design that comes with a stylish two-tone shade on the back cover. Buyers can choose from Emerald Green, Midnight Black, and Sapphire Blue.
The Huawei P Smart Z will run on an in-house Kirin 710F chipset alongside 4 GB of RAM. Internal storage is 64 GB with the option to insert a microSD card to expand it further. The rear horizontal dual-camera are far from impressive being a 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel combo. The pop-up front-facing shooter is apparently a 16-megapixel sensor, albeit with an f/2.2 lens instead. Powering this mid-range unit is a 4,000 mAh battery.
