As tough and functional as ever
Despite the GA-V01’s unprecedented design elements, there’s no need to fear. Under the hood, it still appears to be a tried-and-true G-Shock.
According to the (Google-translated) product page, the watch is shockproof, water-resistant to 200 meters and has an integrated nightlight. Its case is also still made from ultra-durable, lightweight resin.
Alongside its physical properties, it boasts a 31-time zone (48-city) world timer function, a fully automatic calendar, a stopwatch (and timer) and a quintet of programmable alarms. In other words, it’s really not any different than other G-Shocks, functionally speaking.
However, there is one big, beneficial difference. This watch is said to have a ten-year battery — as opposed to just three years for similarly priced models. That makes this one of the longest-lasting battery-operated G-Shocks to date.
