When you mention the Aston Martin DB5, the first thing that comes to mind is James Bond. That’s because the DB5 is the most legendary Bond vehicle there is.

It evokes the same feelings as the Bond movies and Bond himself – Debonaire, classy, mysterious and the epitome of cool.

With the upcoming release of Skyfall in October, and the DB5 making a striking appearance in the film, the makers of Skyfall have released a video of the DB5 on set and in action.

VIDEO: Porsche 911 GT2 RS VS. Ducati

Chris Harris races the Porsche 911 GT2 RS against the Ducati 1199 Panigale.

The GT2 RS, weighing 3,170 pounds, is packing 611 horsepower. The Ducati on the other hand, weighs in at just 415 pounds curb weight, packing 192 horsepower and giving the Ducati a power-to-weight ratio of 2.16 lb/hp. or 3.82 fewer pounds per horsepower than the 911.

Who will win – the 911 with its grip and stability, or the power-to-weight Ducati? Watch and find out!

Seven years ago Audi launched the R8, and in that time the two-seat sports car has undergone several changes including adding an R8 Spyder, optional V10 and GT model to the R8 family. Well, Audi decided that it was time that the R8 got a full-on refresh by introducing the new 2012 R8 lineup. Check out the specs, video and gallery below.

Specs

Seven-speed S-tronic transmission – an upgrade from the R-tronic – utilizes two mult-plate clutches
S-tronic is actually faster to 60 miles per hour by three-tenths of a second
Six-speed manual is offered
Flagship V10 Plus model
Redesigned LED headlights and taillights
Revised front bumper and grille
Larger diffuser
New circular tailpipes
Carbon fiber reinforced plastic like that used on the R8 GT
Carbon fiber front splitter, mirrors, side blades, rear diffuser and lining for the engine compartment 5.2-liter V10 producing 550 horsepower and 398 pound-feet torque.

European models start rolling off the line at the end of 2012. No mention of U.S. availability or pricing yet.

Before his death in 1988, Enzo Ferrari unveiled the Ferrari F40. The first supercar to surpass the 200 mph mark, its twin-turbo V8, 471 hp could reach 60 mph in less than four seconds. The F40 was the first modern supercar that not only combined racing engineering but road manners as well, a formula standard set and followed since by Lamborghini and many others.

In honor of the F40 and to celebrate its 25th anniversary, the world’s largest gathering of F40s was held Sunday at the Silverstone race course in England. 62 F40s took part in the annual Silverstone Classic held every year to celebrate and race old sports cars.

The cars from the James Bond films have become legendary. To celebrate the release of the upcoming Bond 50 box set, a video montage trailer featuring the films most recognizable automobiles has been released. Bentleys, Audis, Alfa Romeos and of course Bond’s signature Aston Martin DB5!

Bond 50, which celebrates 50 years of James Bond with the debut of all 22 films in a Blu-ray box set, will be released this September, just in time to coincide with the box office release of Skyfall in October 2012.
