A pink and white Bugatti Chiron Sport is one of the most outrageous Valentine’s Day gifts we’ve ever seen

Valentine’s Day is coming up, and while you may have something special planned for your significant other, it’s probably not as wild as what one Bugatti customer has done (though, depending on your significant other, that might be a good thing). The supercar builder revealed the pink Bugatti Chiron Sport above, which is a gift from the buyer to his wife.

The car features a one-off paint scheme combining a matte white front half with a Silk Rosé metallic rear half. The shimmering pink paint finish is carried to parts of the wheels as well as the engine covers. The interior is wrapped in leather and Alcantara all in a very light gray hue. The upholstery features pink contrast stitching, and the “Comfort”-style seats have the name Alice embroidered into the headrests. Presumably, that’s the name of the customer’s beloved wife. If not, there could be some explaining to do.

Besides the flashy color combo, this Chiron Sport seems to be just like any other Chiron Sport. That’s not a bad thing, though, since it still packs 1,479 horsepower from its quad-turbocharged W16 engine. It also weighs 40 pounds less than the regular Chiron and gains stiffer suspension and torque vectoring.

An exact price tag for this pink beast wasn’t given. The base price for a Chiron Sport is a little over $3.2 million, and the customizing probably added a not-insignificant chunk of change to that figure. We don’t know about you all, but we’ll probably stick to more modest Valentine’s Day gifts and events.

Roush Performance option almost doubles the price on a 2021 Mustang

The most powerful ROUSH Performance Mustang has just been revealed, the 2021 Stage 3 option brings the total power output of the Mustang to 750 hp with 670 lb-ft torque, but still comes with a 5 year, or 60,000-mile limited powertrain warranty.

It has been 25 years since the first ROUSH Mustang was made to bring track performance to the streets, this new 2021 ROUSH Stage 3 package comes with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 10-speed automatic transmission … and just in case 750 hp with 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds isn’t enough, ROUSH has an optional upgrade to 775 hp available too.

The ROUSH Stage 3 package isn’t only about power, it also comes with aerodynamic add-ons for the Mustang, like a new front splitter complete with wheel shrouds, while the front hood gets extra air vents to keep that 5.0L Coyote V8 engine cool, but Stage 3 also comes with the ROUSH Powertrain Cooling Package with additional coolers behind each of the high flow corner pockets.

The ROUSH Stage 3 comes in multiple packages, the base ‘Signature Package’ at $24,995, comes with the 750 hp Phase 2 Supercharger, the R9 aero kit, special MagneRide(r) suspension, the aforementioned Powertrain Cooling Package. At the rear you’ll get four, black tips on the performance exhaust while the interior gets a Sport Package upgrade, wheels are Jet black 20-inch Flowform with Continental Sport tires.

With the ‘Competition Package’ comes the active exhaust, some engine bay styling, a premium car cover, and special lug nuts … but things get more interesting with the ‘Podium Package’ that includes both preview packs and adds a stunning, Active Aero carbon fiber rear wing and Brembo GT brakes for the front.

And these packs don’t even list the optional power upgrade to 775 hp Power Upgrade, or an X pipe exhaust, Agata grey 20-inch Forged wheels are an option too … and just in case you prefer a convertible, ROUSH has a Convertible Style bar on the options list for you.

As standard, the interior in the Stage 3 kit comes with black leather sport seats and multiple ROUSH dials and badges, but you can opt for Black or Amaretto tinted premium-design leather and Billet pedals to complement that billet aluminum paddle shifters.

So if you really want to have a special Mustang, the ROUSH Stage 3 package will add at least $24,995 on top of the base price for a regular Ford Mustang GT Fastback that starts at $36,120 before options, but somehow I doubt many ROUSH customer will start with a base model Mustang to add this Stage 3 kit onto. If you want to create a ROUSH Stage 3 Convertible you’ll have to start with the Mustang GT Premium Convertible at $45,620.

Arctic Trucks Toyota Hilux AT35

It’s too bad we can’t get the rugged Toyota Hilux in America (we get the excellent Tacoma, though). It’s still sold overseas and is known for its toughness. Arctic Trucks has taken the light-duty midsize…

Polestar 1 production will end this year

When the Polestar 1 was unveiled in 2017 the response was immense, and the orders started pouring in for this impressive PHEV Performance hybrid GT, first deliveries didn’t happen until 2020, but by the end of 2021 the production of this “technological tour-de-force” will be halted, so if you want to add this $155,000 to your garage you will have to secure one of the final remaining build slots as soon as possible.

The Polestar 1 might remind you of a Volvo by her looks, but Polestar is the stand-alone Performance department from Volvo, and they’ve created some really impressive cars, remember the Volvo V60 Polestar in that bespoke blue shade, a great estate to get to your destination in a hurry.

But the Polestar 1 is a car from a new breed, a high-performance Hybrid GT packing a massive 619 hp and 738 lb.-ft. of torque from the combination of two electric motors on the rear axle and a 2.0-liter, in-line four-cylinder, supercharged, and turbocharged petrol engine, an integrated starter generator at the front is another plus.

The Polestar 1 features a lightweight, carbon fiber body with a distinctive low roofline, that includes a fixed, panoramic glass roof stretching the full length, and width of the car. On the stylish interior of this 2+2 seater, you’ll find a Bowers & Wilkins sound system and intricate leather upholstery with handcrafted detailing.

The Polestar 1 still holds the record for the longest range in pure electric mode, thanks to a triple battery system, you can complete 60 miles on battery power alone, with two electric motors on the rear wheels, each with a power output of no less than 116 hp (85 kW), acceleration from 0 60 mph takes only 3.8 seconds, the quarter-mile is completed in 12.0 seconds, reaching a speed of 119.1 mph, despite the weight of 2,345 kg (5,155-pound).

The top speed of the Polestar 1 is 163 Mph, or just over 260 km/h, and thanks to the adjustable Öhlins dampers the ride on those massive 21-inch wheels (with 275/30 R21 for the front and 295/30 R21 for the rear) isn’t too bad in the end, it’s not a luxury car after all, but a performance GT, so expect a harder ride than usual from lesser models from Volvo. The 6-piston Akebono brakes behind the stylish wheels make sure all that acceleration and high-speed can be stopped in a hurry when needed.

The Polestar 1 is built in Chengdu, China (remember Polestar is part of the Geely-owned Volvo Car Group), and while you can still order this very special car today, time is running out, once production reached 1,500 units, it’s all over, and you can’t get one anymore, so it’s time to hurry up and visit Polestar Spaces across North America for a hands-on experience and test drive.

ABT Reveals Widebody Audi SQ7 TFSI

There is a new widebody Audi SQ7 from ABT Sportsline. It comes with a full aero package, engine tuning and alloy wheels, this is the TFSI version.

The SQ7 TFSI has an output of 507 hp and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds making it faster than the current entry level Porsche 911. ABT says they are already working on a performance upgrade focused on ECU tuning.

The wide body aero package will be available for the SQ7 includes front and rear skirt add-ons, fender extension, door strip attachments and end pipe cover set. A slim body package will also be available without fender extensions. Other optional features include ABS plastic or carbon fiber, rear spoiler or fender inserts.

The standard SQ7 is equipped with 20 inch wheels but the German tuning company has further enhanced the look of the car by fitting a set of 22 inch alloy wheels. Additional wheels include the Sport GR that are finished in glossy or matt black, HR Aero in dark smoke with matt black Aero ring and high-performance HR-F in dark smoke or glossy black.

The interior of the SQ7 features dashboard and seat frame covers in carbon fiber, start-stop-switch cap with illuminated logo and integrated entrance lights.

Prices and further details on performance were not provided.

Lotus Evija is the world’s most premium sustainable car

The all-electric Lotus Evija hypercar has been recognized in the prestigious International Design Awards (IDAs), winning the ‘Product Design of the Year’ category.

Established in 2007 by a group of leading international designers, visionaries, and entrepreneurs as a response to a lack of pure design awards in their field, the IDAs have a truly global profile. They celebrate smart and sustainable multi-disciplinary designs, promoting outstanding creativity while uncovering emerging talent.

The award was presented to Lotus after being selected by a panel jury representing each of the five diverse IDA disciplines – Architecture, Fashion, Interior, Product, and Graphic Design. The jurors evaluated entries from more than 80 countries, each exhibiting the highest standards of design. The Evija was honored for its breathtaking ability to stretch the boundaries of automotive design.

Members of the IDA jury commented that the Lotus Evija “paves a way towards a more sustainable future whilst embodying an exceptional aerodynamic aesthetic”, and that “its seductive style elevates the Evija to be the world’s most premium sustainable car”.

The Lotus Evija was built with a simple goal – to be the absolute pinnacle of world-class engineering and the most powerful performance car ‘For The Drivers’. It harnesses Lotus’ technical expertise, fine-tuned over more than seven decades, to create a masterclass of automotive excellence.

Russell Carr, Director of Design, Lotus, said: “Everyone at Lotus is honored to receive this award. The Evija is an incredibly important car for Lotus; it is inspired by our innovative past and is the ultimate statement of intent for our ambitious and exciting future. It also sets the standard for a new Lotus design language.”

To celebrate the IDA award, Lotus has released a set of new images of the Lotus Evija. Shot on the streets of London prior to the current UK lockdown restrictions, they reveal every facet of the hypercar’s stunning design.

New Porsche sports car design shown in recently-filed patent

It looks like there could be some supercar (or new sports car) cogs turning over at Porsche. Maybe, if you take a recent patent Porsche filed seriously. A member at the TaycanEVForums discovered that Porsche filed and was granted a patent with the European Union Intellectual Property Office for a design of a new sports car not currently in Porsche’s lineup

One look at the images associated with this patent will instantly remind you of the Le Mans Living Legend design study (below) that was only just revealed late last year. The vehicles look nearly identical in proportions and design details alike. Photos of the car in the patent make it look like an awkwardly elongated and flattened 911, but the real-life car that Porsche put together for its design study is significantly better looking with a more cohesive overall look.

It’s intriguing to see that Porsche just filed for the patent now. Whether or not this will lead to an actual production car is anybody’s guess. Car companies file for patents of things all the time that don’t result in any sort of a production vehicle. Seeing as how Porsche has thought this one out enough to release photos of a design study, there could be something brewing here.

Porsche doesn’t make many supercars. The most recent two are the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder. If built, this car looks like it could fall into a similar limited-run hypercar/supercar category. As for the possible powertrain, the Le Mans Living Legend Concept is powered by an eight cylinder engine. It’s hard to imagine Porsche developing a brand-new V8 or horizontally-opposed eight-cylinder engine today, but it’s worth pointing out the possibility. A more likely scenario would be to leapfrog off the 918’s hybrid powertrain, use a smaller combustion engine and develop a stronger electric portion of the powertrain.

If the car ever does get made, we hope the gullwing-style doors stick around. At this stage, we haven’t spied any Porsches with a design looking like this one, but we have no idea where Porsche might be in the process, if any engineering process has even begun. Now that Porsche has half showed its hand with the patent, though, we’ll be on the lookout for an extra sleek sports car from Stuttgart.

The first production prototype of the Bugatti Centodiece is currently being assembled

At “The Quail – A Motorsports Gathering” in California back in 2019, Bugatti unveiled an extremely special project … the Centodiece as an homage to the legendary Bugatti EB110 from the Nineties, created by Romano Artioli and Giampaolo Benedini, the EB110 was responsible for the revival of Bugatti as a hypercar manufacturer.

30 years later the Centodiece wants to evoke that same sentiment again, but in a brand-new, contemporary design … the angular styling of the EB110 just wouldn’t work today, but Bugatti only wants to build 10 units of the Centodiece and with a price tag of €8,000,000 (which is $9,700,00 at today’s exchange rate), this very exclusive car is destined for a select few customers, still, they sold all ten units in a matter of hours.

The Bugatti Centodiece is being created by the one-off and few-off projects department at Molsheim, but it has to meet very stringent requirements just like the normal (of you can call any Bugatti ‘normal’) production cars, probably the Centodiece customers even expect their car to exceed every single Bugatti known today, so the pressure is on at Bugatti to build the best EB110 tribute possible.

The time has come at Molsheim to build the first production prototype for the new Bugatti Centodiece, Andre Kullig, who was involved in cars like the Divo and La Voiture Noire, was looking forward to finally build the first Centodiece after more than a year of calculations, simulating, designing, and testing the new design.

Recently the development team at Bugatti was able to put the first rolling chassis to work in their in-house dynamometer to make sure the drivetrain is up to specs, after all, we are talking about a W16 engine that will deliver 1,600 hp in the end … the next step is to build the actual bodywork now …

The challenges are enormous: taking an 8-liter engine capable of 1,600 hp gets extremely hot, and as an homage to the EB110, the engine cover is made of glass so you can admire this powerplant, so they need a large air vent and optimized airflow to make sure the engine gets enough cooling. Inspiration from the EB110 Super Sport was taken for the five, oval air intake behind the side window, but also for the fixed rear wing.

The first customer deliveries for the Bugatti Centodiece will only happen by 2022, first, they have to complete this production prototype, and then take it to the track for many miles to perfectly finetune the engine, suspension, cooling, and chassis setup … only after every single parameter is perfected will the first owner be able to take delivery of his ‘one of ten’ Bugatti Centodiece.

McLaren Artura hybrid officially set for February 16 reveal

The long-awaited hybrid-powered McLaren Artura will be revealed next Tuesday, February 16. There’s a special showcase video that McLaren is putting on from Woking, England, that will come online at 7:01 p.m. ET that day. McLaren promises folks from its team and “brand personalities” (i.e. celebrities) will be introducing the car.

To catch the event, McLaren says you’ll want to visit this site that will be streaming the video live at reveal time.

We don’t have all the information as it concerns the Artura, but we do know some vitals. McLaren says it will be powered by a hybrid powertrain that features a completely new V6 engine. This will be the first McLaren since the brand’s road car reinvention with the MP4-12C that isn’t powered by a twin-turbo V8. It’s unclear how many electric motors will supplement the gas engine, but a previous report from Autocar predicted at least two with power going to the rear wheels exclusively. The Artura will also use McLaren’s new Carbon Lightweight Architecture that is specifically designed for electrified models.

Above, you’re looking at the single teaser image that McLaren released with its announcement today. It’s unmistakable as a McLaren in profile, as the shape looks a whole lot like the 570S.

To see the car in full view (but slathered in concealing camouflage) check out McLaren’s preview photos in this post here. And if you’d like to see the car’s full reveal, make sure to circle back here to this link right before the reveal is meant to begin.

On Display: Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport

Images & Words: Makenzie Shattler

Recently, Supercars.net had the opportunity to get a private viewing of none other than a 2021 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport while on tour from its birthplace, Molsheim, France. The private viewing was held at one of Canada’s must-see luxury dealerships: Grand Touring Automobiles of Toronto, Canada.

Thank You, Grand Touring Automobiles!

Established in 1974, Grand Touring Automobiles was at one time Canada’s only dealer to house all major British vehicle brands. Since that time they have become one of Canada’s greatest Luxury dealerships. They are Toronto’s Luxury OEM dealership to Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Jaguar, Karma, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Polestar, Rolls-Royce, and Volvo.

The Exterior is So Bugatti Chiron

The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport has a powerful presence, which is personified in the “Pur” beauty of this hypercar. It’s hard to tell that Bugatti put design after the performance with the 2021 Chiron Pur Sport. Seeing Bugatti’s two-tone Agile Blue with exposed carbon fiber up close gave me a feeling of “Pur” adrenaline. The longer I stared at it, the less I cared about the millions of dollars worth of Rolls Royces and Aston Martins a few feet away.

The changes Bugatti made were eyecatching but their interviews assured that it was strictly to improve the Chiron’s agility and emotion demanding performance, I beg to differ. The design cues added to the car looked as if Jean Bugatti himself was overlooking the Pur Sport’s development.

Beautiful Aero

The first thing you notice when you walk towards it is that the Chiron Pur Sport includes large front air intakes, a rear wing that spans 6.2-feet, and a massive rear diffuser that have all been added to improve downforce. Every piece of carbon fiber on the car is perfect. The hood venting, front bumper/spoiler with two mini scoops added, every weave of carbon on this car was finished to the highest standard.

Pur Sport Rear
Bugatti also included a beautiful 3D-printed Titanium exhaust tip on this car for additional weight reduction. But to that point, it was printed with an edge thickness of less than 2.5mm, this made it require the two coping rings on the very tips of the exhaust to meet safety standards.

I did find myself sitting and staring at magnesium wheels featuring carbon-fiber fins for quite some time. Those fins by the way are there to assist in removing heat from the brake along with controlling turbulence surrounding the wheel arches. The wheels’ barely noticeable negative camber of 2.5-degrees makes the Pur Sport extremely agile when cornering. After sitting so close to these gorgeous works of art it was tough to look away, but there was a lot of real-estate to cover on the Pur Sport.   Chiron Pur Sport Wheel

The ‘Pur’ Philosophy

Bugatti has absolutely nailed the design as the French supercar manufacturer also kept the “spine” on the Pur Sport, reminiscent of one of my favorite cars, the Bugatti 57SC Atlantic. They have also stayed true to their “form follows performance” philosophy though it looks amazing on its own without glancing at the Pur Sport’s incredible performance specs.

Bugatti has only produced 60 examples of the 2021 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport and this makes it not only rare but something that must be seen to appreciate and I did just that. The photos featured in this article, have captured the emotion of the Pur Sport along with its agility, through my eyes.

Chiron Pur SportThe sticker price on this limited edition hypercar will put you out 3 million euros or roughly $3.6 million USD, and after seeing it, I think it’s worth every penny.

After spending so much time walking around the Pur Sport, it was difficult for us to leave but all great meetings must come to an end. Grand Touring Automobiles is sure to have something special roll into its showroom soon and when it does, so will we.

Technical Specifications

Though a Bugatti is often envisioned as a top speed-only type of hypercar, the Chiron Pur Sport sheds a whole new light on Chiron’s capabilities. It has a decreased top speed of 217mph though it maintains the original Chiron 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged W16 engine capable of 1,479 horsepower to the wheels and 1,180 foot-pounds of torque. It also maintains a 7-speed automatic transmission that has been overhauled with shorter gearing to increase its acceleration.

The Pur Sport’s total weight is 1,945kg, down 50 kilograms over the standard Chiron. This is thanks to weight-saving upgrades to the wheels, titanium brake plates, and lightweight exhaust tips. It contains an all-wheel-drive system that stays perfectly grounded with specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

For the Pur Sport, Bugatti has changed quite a few things gearing it towards a circuit track instead of an airstrip such as shortening all seven gears to improve its elasticity by 45% and giving it a zero to 60 time of just 2.3-seconds. The Pur Sport’s W16 engine was also given a 200-rpm redline increase to 6900-rpm. This gives the Pur Sport a huge advantage over the base model when it comes to racetrack performance.
