Dogecoin touched it’s all time highs in the first week of May, and among the first people to take advantage of that gain was a US-based supercar and hypercar collector. He goes by the username @cococulture_ on Instagram, and on 8th May he announced that he had sold 25% of his DOGE coins to order a Bugatti Bolide. The meme coin had been trading at highs of up to 0.724658 on that day before taking a dip a few hours later, with some people speculating that his major sale could have triggered the dip.
Obviously a DOGE whale, the collector decided to hold his remaining 75% for another winning day. His move comes weeks after Elon Musk called upon major DOGE whales to dump their coins in order to improve it’s overall health. He even offered to “pay actual $” to anyone who dumped their coins in a provable manner – and buying a Bugatti with Dogecoin is probably the biggest gesture towards Musk’s call. According to data collected by Dogecoin Rich List, one whale owns 28.7% of all Dogecoin, while the top 12 whales own 50% of all available DOGE.
The Bugatti Bolide is a track only hypercar from Bugatti inspired by race cars from 1920s and 1930s from the French car maker and most recently by the Bugatti Vision Grand Turismo. It even has the same height as a Type 35 and is rumored to be the last Bugatti powered by the iconic 8.0L W16 quad turbo engine. Bugatti has not indicated how many units they will build, and judging by their recent pricing strategy it could cost northwards of $10 million. The Centodieci costs $9 million, the Divo $6 million and the LaVoiture Noire $18 million plus.
Powered by the same W16 engine used on the Chiron, the Bolide has an increased output of 1.850hp and 1,850nm of torque. This results to an incredible power-to-weight ratio of 0.67kg per hp. Using simulations, Bugatti says the Bolide has a top speed of 500km/h plus and will lap the Nurburgring-Nordschleife in just 5:23.1 minutes.
To improve air flow, the roof scoop features the same design as a golf ball, incorporating dimples on the surface of the intake. These dimples are active and will open and close depending on the speed. They (dimples) will bulge out at high speeds and smoothen out at low speeds.

It seems many wealthy customers have a craving for the classic road cars and racing legends, but with prices for the Fifties or Sixties Ferrari into the tens of millions it might be a good idea not to risk that kind of money on the open road, where you could hit a pothole, or even worse, get hit by another car and cause a fortune in damage to this rare car, to help out those that still want to drive a classic looking car, but not spend that kind of money, nor want to forego on creature comfort and modern-day performance, several companies are preparing a modern-day GT car with classic looks.
A few months ago we already published an article on the GTO Engineering Squalo, and today we bring you the RLM SWB, created by the world-class engineering company, RML Group located in Wellingborough, UK, this ‘Short Wheel Base’ as it is fully called takes inspiration from the legendary 250GT SWB from 1959, and while the RLM SWB might look like a car from the Fifties, it will come with all the 21st-century amenities we’ve come to expect from a modern GT.
The RLM SWB even comes with a Ferrari engine at the front, more specifically a 5474cc V12 that puts down 478 hp and 568 Nm of torque at the rear axle, courtesy of a six-speed manual gearbox, no automatic paddle shifter for this modern-day classic GT, naturally the gearshift lever is mounted in an open-gated grid, just like in the good old days.
The RLM SWB should be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and should reach a top speed of 186 mph, but that’s exactly what Michael Mallock, RML’s Chief Executive intended, the SWB wasn’t created to be the fastest on the road, instead they want to offer their customers a driving experience with less electronic intervention and performance you can actually use in day to day driving on regular roads or in the city.
And to make the ride as comfortable as possible, RLM made sure the cockpit suits even taller owners, up to six-foot, six inches (two meters) in height, while being seated on some amazingly finished seats, and while the interior remains classic as an homage to the 250 GT SWB they used for inspiration, the RLM SWB will come with satnav, air conditioning, cupholders, and smartphone connectivity, all without intruding too much into the overall looks of the interior.
It should come as no surprise the RLM SWB is larger than the 1959 original she was sculpted after, things have changed over the last 60 years, and clients expect a larger car today, but the overall design has been maintained as closely as possible in the overall looks, like the stacked taillights for instance, or the beautiful exposed fuel filler, and the typical vents on the bodywork just had to be retained too for this modern interpretation.
“After almost three years, we are nearing completion of the Short Wheelbase’s development,” said Michael Mallock. “While this is the first such car to wear RML’s name, our experience working on a variety of whole vehicle programs, as a ‘white label’ partner to various OEMs, is extensive, and second to none. So this car showcases much of the experience we’ve gained from not only designing and building low-volume, high-end motor cars but also implementing thorough testing procedures to make sure that driving them is an emotional experience for all the right reasons.”
The RLM SWB comes with a length of 4264mm, a width of 1954mm, and weighs 1470 kg, no pricing has been published at this moment, but this very special car will not come cheap, especially as only 30 units are planned to be built, the RLM SWB will be available to order by the end of 2021.

A passionate Bugatti collector comes to Molsheim with his personal vision: to create for him a truly unique Chiron that epitomizes luxury. Enter the ‘Chiron habillé par Hermès’, the hyper sports car inspired by artisan craftsmanship that is one of a kind.
For any Bugatti connoisseur, to own a hyper sports car hand-crafted in the French luxury marque’s Molsheim Atelier is a lifelong wish. For some, this is not enough, and they have more than one Bugatti model to admire in their collection. They take their dedication to the legendary automobiles even further and come to Bugatti with visions for their very personalized hyper sports car – in reference to Bugatti’s coachbuilding past of the Type 57 models, where Bugatti’s individualization options were a major USP. The ‘Chiron habillé par Hermès’, created for a customer in the USA – the entrepreneur and real estate investor Manny Khoshbin – revives the relationship of the two French brands, whose owners Ettore Bugatti and Émile-Maurice Hermès laid the base for a new form of luxury which France stands for up to this very day. The phenomenal result brings dreams to reality.
“I am a true Bugatti aficionado – I wanted to name my son ‘Ettore’ but my wife disagreed,” explains Mr. Khoshbin. “When I saw the Chiron1 for the first time in 2015, I was one of the first customers in the world to reserve a build slot, yet one of the later to take delivery of one, but the reason for that was down to me.” It was Mr. Khoshbin’s vision and his devotion to the Bugatti marque to inspire others by defying the limits of custom automotive design.
After years of collaborating closely through the creative process, Mr. Khoshbin took delivery of his unique ‘Chiron habillé par Hermès’. The evolution of this elegant and extraordinary Chiron would bring on board the French luxury brand, Hermès, to leave its mark on the hyper sports car with an intricate and special application of colors, fabrics, and finishes to complete the unique look that Mr. Khoshbin had been striving for. The result is a remarkable example of the Chiron that will always stand out, and exemplary of how Bugatti can make anything happen.
Custom detail on every level
Take a closer look at the ‘Chiron habillé par Hermès’ by Bugatti it is clear that the hyper sports car is individual in almost every single aspect. The exterior color, the interior design, the unique details: the teams in Molsheim and Paris have worked with great passion to make the application of custom colors, fabrics, and materials a reality.
The overall color scheme of this extraordinary Chiron, which is adorned in the distinguishable leather shade of ‘Craie’ made famous by the legendary handbags and other luxury goods to come from Hermès. The off-white, chalk-derived hue envelopes the complete outside of this Chiron; making for one exterior color when most Bugatti Chiron models consist of two main colors for contrast.
Further to the main exterior color, the rear bumper, all mesh covers, trim parts, and Bugatti ‘Classique’ alloy wheels are all finished in ‘Craie’. There are also a number of unique design traits on the exterior of the ‘Chiron habillé par Hermès’ by Bugatti, with the horseshoe grille on the front customized with the Parisian brand’s signature ‘H’ monogram, while its classic ‘Courbettes’ motif, graces the underside of the rear wing. The ‘Courbettes’ design features sketches of rearing horses and was specially chosen by Mr. Khoshbin to emphasize the immense power output of 1,500 PS in the Chiron.
Mr. Khoshbin chose the optional ‘Sky View’ glass roof, adding two fixed glass panels above the driver and passenger seats, while the exposed engine bay that hugs the top-side of the hyper sports car is the only exterior item not finished in ‘Craie’, save for the ‘Italian Red’ brake calipers and the aluminum-finish door sills.
Inside the ‘Chiron habillé par Hermès’, the theme of individuality is taken to another level yet again. Almost all material used for the interior is crafted by Hermès, with the ‘Craie’ share representing leather of the seats, middle console, inner signature line, roof and rear panel plus the doors’ clasps. The ‘Ecru’ leather around the center console, dashboard, and other parts of the interior, developed by Bugatti, combines with the shade of ‘Craie’ in the hyper sports car, while the carpets are finished in the color ‘Beige’. The Bugatti materials involve extensive safety testing to ensure they meet the highest quality regulations,
The use of an original Hermès material, adorned by the ‘Courbettes’ design is reflected inside the Chiron, too – on the middle console plate, the center console tray, and door cards.
An immersive order experience
From the point that Mr. Khoshbin reserved a build slot for his Chiron, through to the delivery of the one-of-a-kind hyper sports car, the customer was fully involved in the order process. That was, at his own election – Mr. Khoshbin is, after all, a true Bugatti enthusiast and collector. He adds: “The order of this special Chiron involved two visits to Hermès in Paris to discuss design, the realization of the interior and see progress being made. Between myself, the team at Hermès, and designers at Bugatti, we exchanged hundreds of emails. I took my time to draft the car and that was very much a conscious decision – this is a car that I will one day hand down to my son, it will live for generations”.
“I’m truly thankful to the teams at Bugatti and Hermès for making this happen. I came to Bugatti with the idea, and it’s not something that they’d usually do but they were open to the notion of making something special. Now I have three Bugatti models in my collection, and there is soon to be a fourth. There’s this one, and two Veyrons, one a Grand Sport Vitesse “Les Légendes de Bugatti” Rembrandt Bugatti, that I love just to look at, they are so beautiful.” The Rembrandt Bugatti is one out of three Vitesse in this unique configuration with an extremely rare exposed brown carbon fiber finish. “Then we’re about to take delivery of a Bugatti Baby II for my son,” Mr. Khoshbin continues, “he is Bugatti mad, and gets excited every time he hears the name! I like the ‘Chiron habillé par Hermès’ the most out of them all – I drive it almost every day. It’s a real driver’s car and I still get excited every time I get into the driver’s seat.”
This application of Hermès design with automobiles hand-made by Bugatti is not the first time the two French luxury houses have worked together. Before the First World War, Ettore Bugatti commissioned saddles and other leather tacks from Émile-Maurice Hermès – grandson of founder Thierry Hermès – and the company’s leather later appeared in racing cars by Bugatti in the 1920s. In 2008, Bugatti paid tribute to the enduring relationship with the ‘Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès‘, associating Bugatti’s technical performance with the expertise of Hermès and its craftsmen.

A special commission by Manny Khoshbin that saw the collaboration between two French luxury brands – Bugatti and Hermes. The result was a unique 1 of 1 Bugatti Chiron.
This Bugatti Chiron was individualized in almost all aspects including the exterior color, interior designs and the unique details inside and outside the vehicle. The teams in Molsheim and Paris worked together to bring the application of custom colors, fabrics and materials into reality.
The color scheme of the Chiron was designed by Hermes to match the leather interior which is finished in ‘craie’ whereas the exterior of the Chiron has been completed in off-white, chalk-derived hue envelopes making it a one exterior color vehicle compared to other Bugatti Chirons that consists of two colors for contrast. The ‘Craie’ shade used in the interior of the car was made by Hermes.
In addition, the ‘Craie’ shade has also been used on the rear bumper, all mesh covers, trim parts and also on the ‘classique’ alloy wheels of the Bugatti.
The exterior of the Bugatti Chiron habillé par Hermès also features a horseshoe grille customized with the H monogram from the Parisian brand signature and ‘courbettes’ motif design under the rear wing.
The ‘courbettes’ design consists of sketches of rearing horses to emphasize the immense 1,500PS output power of the Bugatti Chiron, this design was personally chosen by Mr Khoshbin. In addition, Mr Khoshbin also chose the ‘sky view’ glass roof adding two fixed glass panels above the driver and the passenger.
The original Hermes material in ‘Courbettes’ design can also be found on the middle console plate, centre console tray and on the door cards. The exposed engine bay on the top side of the vehicle remains as the only exterior part not finished in ‘Craie’. The brake callipers are finished in ‘ Italian Red’ whereas the door sills have an aluminium finish.
Almost all the materials used for the interior have been designed by Hermes, the interior features the shade ‘Craie’ on the leather seats, inner signature line, centre console, door clasps and the roof and rear panels. The centre console, dashboard and other parts of the interior have been finished in ‘Ecru’ leather developed by Bugatti. The carpets have been finished in ‘Beige’.

Let’s be frank, you don’t buy a Ferrari to enjoy it’s latest self driving tech, or a Lamborghini to achieve better mpg than your Jimny. Just like you don’t buy a Tesla to enjoy loud cold starts in the morning or compete in rev battles.
An AMG owner has their own reasons for paying $100k+ for the latest E63, so does a Tesla owner for paying $100k+ for the top of the range Model S Plaid+. Both car makers make it easy for buyers to choose from either sides depending on their needs. Both cars have different goals, but what happens when both cars merge down their goals into one? Such that the powertrains are same and the performance numbers are equal?
Stating the Obvious
Consumer behavior in the world of cars is largely influenced by brand loyalty. This loyalty stems from cultures forged many years ago depending on the history of the brand. Let’s put aside car enthusiasts for a minute and focus on regular car buyers. What factors contribute to their choice of cars? Here are a few of them:
Budget/Income
Family history of car ownership
Consumer Reports
Car Reviews
Culture
Technology
Design
These are just a few factors, there are many more. They all influence brand loyalty in one way or another, and car buyers will make a repeat purchase if they have a connection with a specific brand. Loyal Mercedes C-Class owners for example will patiently wait for a new generation even if BMW releases a new 3-series gen 1 year ahead of the C-Class.
In today’s car industry, the difference between same class rivals is very thin. Stiff competition keeps every car manufacturer on their toes, whether it’s the move towards big infotainment screens, lighting technology or 48V mild hybrid technology – there is no room for lagging behind.
Now let’s get back to car enthusiasts including but not limited to those in the world of sports cars, sports SUVs, 4x4s and the likes. Here, brand loyalty is represented with greater magnitude. But what are the factors that mainly contribute to their buying trends? Let’s list a few of them:
Sound
Design
Powertrain (engine, gearbox)
Budget/income
Performance numbers
Tunability
Electric cars on the other hand take a different approach as discussed below.
How Could EVs affect our Buying Trends?
My view of the EV market is identical to that of Android smartphone market. With Android smartphones, there are dozens of current and upcoming manufacturers all aiming to get a larger share of the market. The same goes for EVs, current and upcoming car makers are working around the clock to grab whatever market share is available.
The tech is nearly identical and the goals are similar; these goals include:
Long lasting batteries or long driving range
Fast charging options
Quick maintenance via over-the-air software updates
Advanced Assistance Driving Systems
AI integration (with infotainment)
Besides the ADS, the goals above are the very same ones that smartphone manufacturers aim for. There is very little room for being different in the world of smartphones today especially the Android based ones. At times, it comes down to design and marketing, everything else remains constant across the competition pool. Buyers are ready to switch brands if a new product with slightly better upgrades hits the market.
That could be the same direction EVs are headed to, a time will come when the field is leveled. Big screens running across the entire dashboard length, long driving ranges, faster charging that a smartphone, universal self driving tech and performance numbers to match a rocket in the case of sports cars.
When that happens, there will be little room for standing out and little room for buyers to stick to a brand without having second thoughts. But there will be plenty of room for reinterpretation of technology, so whoever has a better version of the former gets an upper hand. This is what you commonly know as “version 2.0” and the likes, hardware not necessary, could be a mere software upgrade.
Hypothetically Speaking
Take for example the upcoming C63 4-cylinder Hybrid, i suppose the main selling point will be better performance numbers than any other C63 ever made, perhaps better than some Italian supercars. Its predecessor on the other hand was known and loved for being more than just a 500bhp sports car. It had character and a V8 engine, the latter is very important to state in today’s world before it becomes an offensive word.
So then, if it’s the numbers we are after, what is stopping an aspiring C63 owner from getting an electric performance sedan or coupe? They both lack in sound and character, but put down some very impressive numbers. We are talking 0-100km/h in under 3s and a possibility of a 300km/h top speed, these are foreign numbers on cars like the C63, but they are common in the world of EVs.
If all our favorite cars go electric, do we still follow them blindly with hands in our pockets? Or are we going to explore other relationships? The factors that once motivated us to stick to a brand have been replaced by new ones.
ICEs are very diverse, we have boxer engines, V8s, flat 6s, inline 6s, inline 4s and so on. And even if two manufacturers use the same engine configuration, the manner in which power is delivered tends to be unique. The sound is unique, the drive is unique, the overall product is unique and the performance is unique to that particular setup. There is more room for improvement with ICEs that with EVs.
Performance numbers will become the biggest selling point, that’s how Tesla rose to popularity with their performance based models. Forget build quality, for even Koreans can now match German build quality including interiors and they have equally matched EVs coming out every now and then.
Korean made Genesis GV80 interior. From $48kBentley Bentayga Interior. From $180k.
We have accepted the new world order, that big performance engines are leaving us one by one, and driving a loud V8 will be likened to running through a forest setting fire to the trees. We will also have to accept that the days of “badge driving” are no longer beneficial to us if everyone is offering the same product with the only difference being packaging.

Let’s go back in time … to 2013 to be exact, the time when McLaren unveiled the long-awaited successor to their legendary F1 road car … the McLaren P1, a car from a new generation of hybrid hypercars like the Ferrari Enzo and the Porsche 918, her main competitors at that time, a limited production run of only 375 McLaren P1 would be built, making her an instant part of British Automotive history, a halo car many dream about, especially as it came with an MSRP of $1,350,000, but adding MSO options could quickly push that amount beyond $1,600,000 … 8 years ago, and those few units that passed the auction block already regularly break the $2,000,000 barrier these days.
But this bright yellow over black McLaren P1, chassis SBM12ABB1EW000023 is a bit special, finished in Volcano Yellow over a black leather interior with an Alcantara dashboard is in fact the very first customer registered P1 in the world, as stated in a personal letter, dated 9th October 2013, from Frank Stephenson, the McLaren P1 designer to the first owner of this specific car, delivered in the UK, this P1 is a Left Hand Drive car, as due to the very limited production numbers, McLaren never even built the P1 in RHD, all of the 375 McLaren P1 are LHD.
In fact, clients could start ordering the McLaren P1 only from October 2013 … by November 2013 all of the 375 units were sold out, making the P1 an instant collector’s item on the automotive scene, powered by a 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 coupled to an electric motor, the total output was 903 bhp (727bhp from the V-8 and 176bhp from the electric engine). with her unique aerodynamics, including adjustable front and rear wings providing as much as 600kg of downforce at 160 mph, performance was incredible: 100 km/h took just 2.8 seconds, 200km/h was reached in 6.8 seconds, while 300km/h came after only 16.5 seconds, the top speed of the McLaren P1 was a mouthwatering 217mph (347kph).
This extremely rare McLaren P1 underwent all her maintenance and care in the hands of official McLaren dealerships in the UK, and while this car now had two owners, both were from the same family, she crossed only 3,666 miles since 2013 but still had her Hybrid battery replaced in 2018, and underwent her most recent service at McLaren Birmingham in 2020, this special McLaren P1 is ready to be driven.
When Jeremy Clarkson, from the famous BBC Top Gear program, was able to test drive a black McLaren P1 on the famous F1 circuit of Spa Francorchamps in Belgium during the second show of the 21st series, he described the P1 as “A game-changer, a genuinely new chapter in the history of motoring”, take a look at a clip from that episode here:

Silverstone Auctions The May Sale 2021 – Classic Cars and Classic Motorcycles will have this yellow McLaren P1 up for auction on May 22nd, with an estimate between £885,000 and £985,000 (that’s $1,250,000 to $1,400,000) which sounds like a steal considering the MSRP back in 2013, so this might be your chance to get hold of a hypercar at a bargain, relatively speaking.
We all know the new Bentley Flying Spur is an amazing luxury sedan from one of the world’s best-known car builders with a massive heritage behind its name, back in February 2021, the Flying Spur W12 was recognized in MotorWeek’s 2021 Drivers’ Choice Awards as the Best Dream Machine, that has to account for something in the automotive world, but that doesn’t mean Bentley isn’t constantly looking to improve on perfection.
For the 2022 model year, the Flying Spur has been developed even further, with more technology added and new paint for the exterior combined with additional finishes for the veneer inside this amazing car, a beautiful Cambrian Grey has been added to the already vast list of 62 exterior paint options. While the following were part of the options list, for the MY22 model these become standard: Traffic sign recognition, hands-free boot opening, extended safeguard features, top-view camera, welcome lighting, and automatic dimming mirrors, as well as the Air Ioniser.
Inside the extremely quiet cabin of the Bentley Flying Spur, the client can opt for a magnificent open-pore veneer, which gets an extremely thin coating that allows the customer to feel the texture of the wood used, carefully selected from either Crown Cut Walnut, Dark Burr Walnut and Koa veneers, because the satin coating is a mere 0.1 mm thick (compared to 0.5 mm for the normal, glossy coated veneers).
With the improved Flying Spur for 2022, Bentley clearly shows they can still improve on perfection …

Genesis has confirmed their plan to bring a range of Korean premium luxury cars to Europe in 2021. For customers in the UK, Germany and Switzerland the sales will start in summer 2021. The Genesis brand has has been active mainly in the US where they launched a series of German-rivaling luxury cars, namely the GV80 SUV, G80 sedan and G90 full luxury sedan.
The European brand celebrated its 5th anniversary last November and has arrived in Europe with the aim of offering exceptional customer service over sales through its ‘Genesis Difference’. All the models will have one transparent price and will also be offered with a 5 year care plan with no extras. The models will be sold directly to the public through online and in Genesis Studios. The first Genesis studios will be opened in London, Munich and Zurich.
The Genesis GV80 has been said to offer similar luxury amenities to those found in a Bentley but at a cheaper price. The exterior and interior styling has been likened to that of a Bentayga. In the US, the GV80 SUV is priced from $48k, on the other hand the Bentayga prices start from $180k. Closer rivals within its price range include the Mercedes GLE which is priced from $54k. We expect the European prices to start around the €50k mark.
The five-year care plan consists of warranty, servicing, roadside assistance, courtesy car and mapping and over-the-air software. In addition, the pricing options will remain the same for each customer whether buying online or from the studios.
A Genesis personal assistant recruited from the hospitality and retail sectors will be appointed for each customer to assist and manage the aspects of the buying and ownership cycle . This new business model allows genesis to create relationships with European customers as well as ensure a convenient and transparent experience.
Orders for the Genesis G80 sedan and the Genesis GV80 SUV will open in June while the new G70 and GV70 will follow after. The fully electrified G80 will be the first all-electric luxury model to arrive in Europe after its world’s premiere at Auto Shanghai last month. In addition, two-battery electric cars will also be launched as part of product roll-out within the first year in Europe.
Genesis has developed easy-to-use digital tools including an online configurator and e-commerce platform that will operate an omnichannel approach offering direct online sales and sales across the three retail studios. The platform will also feature simplified vehicle specification and a range of subscription options from launch.
The G80 sedan and GV80 SUV have already been tuned for European roads as a commitment to the region and will be the first ones available. The models will feature a Genesis distinctive signature and design elements including the double lined Quad Lamp and Crest Grille. On the other hand, the interior of the sedan and SUV are inspired by the ‘Beauty of White space’ concept from the traditional Korean architecture.
