Is Mercedes Planning An SLS AMG E-Cell Roadster?

Rumor has it that Mercedes-Benz is planning a roadster version for the SLS AMG E-Cell electric supercar that debuted at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

Said an undisclosed Mercedes-Benz representative, “We will see how great the demand becomes. We currently have no idea how many people are actually interested.” Sounds like Mercedes-Benz will see how the fully-electric gullwing supercar sells first and then make a decision as to whether or not there will be a demand for a roadster version.

To recap, the SLS E-Cell uses four electric motors to generate a combined 526 horsepower and 649 pound feet of torque, achieving a 0-60 time of four seconds.

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Japan Exclusive Performance Studio Edition

Mercedes-Benz has just announced an exclusive Performance Studio Limited Edition of their C63 AMG sedan to launch in November and is available only in Japan.

Mercedes has assured that the C63 has significant aesthetic and under-the-hood performance upgrades which warrant a price tag of $192,000 USD.

Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG – 45th Anniversary Edition

The Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG turns 45 this year! In honor of the anniversary, Mercedes-Benz has produced a limited anniversary edition of the roadster in a matte “Magno Graphite” with only 45 cars being produced. Each car is individually numbered and sports numerous high-gloss chrome applications and spectacular carbon fiber adornments inside and out. The Limited Edition AMG features luxurious contrasting beige leather interior, Bang & Olufsen sound system, “door power closing,” and a customized exhaust package for maximum auditory impact.
