Acebeam E70-SS 4000 LUMENS Flashlight: Get 10% OFF

The handheld torch has gone through several iterations: from kerosene-fueled to cell-powered, it too has evolved with the passing of time. As such, the market now offers a vast collection of portable lamps that come with modern features. Take for instance the Acebeam E70-SS Flashlight, which gives you a massive 4000 lumens of light in an elegant design worthy of praise.

Everyday Survival Gear

image

You don’t have to be an outdoor enthusiast to enjoy the wonders that a powerful torch can bring. Any commuter will find the Acebeam E70-SS an ideal everyday carry because it can definitely light up a dark path. It boasts an incredible 4000 lumens of bright, wide light with a throw of 220 meters and can emit up to 12,100dc. Plus, it uses durable CREE XHP70.2 LED which has a lifespan of 50,000 hours.

You can also tone down the brightness through other available light mode options. There’s Moonlight, Low, Mid 1 and 2, and High with 1, 50, 180, 650, and 1000 lumens, respectively. In Turbo mode, which is 4000 lumens, you only get two hours and 15 minutes, Low for 50, and High for two and a half hours. Meanwhile, Mid 1 and 2 give you roughly twelve and four hours, respectively. Regardless of the mode you choose, you can be certain that you get visibility in the dark no matter your destination.

Another addition that makes the Acebeam E70-SS great EDC is it doubles as a self-defense or emergency tool. It has a strike bezel perfect for getting out of sticky situations and Strobe lights that can disorient an attacker. Strobe emits 1,650 lumens for a good two and a half hours.

Best of all, the construction itself guarantees it doesn’t easily bend or break. This flashlight uses strong, CNC-machined, corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel for its body. It is even impact resistant to drops up to one meter and submersible in water up to two meters. Meanwhile, ultra-clear tempered glass with an anti-reflective coating protects the lens from scratches and bumps.

Impressive output in an elegant design

The Acebeam E70-SS looks and feels great in the hands. It comes at a pocket-friendly size of five inches and is lightweight at just 7.4 ounces so you can easily slip it into your pocket. It also features indentations on the handle for a good grip and temperature control. Heat dissipates through the slits so you don’t get burned with prolonged use.

The slots also provide aesthetic appeal and pair that with the two blue screws that hold the stainless steel pocket clip together, then you get a ruggedly handsome and elegant design. Not to mention, this flashlight is user-friendly. A flat tail switch allows for one-handed operation and for vertical use. This torch also turns on with a double-click operation to prevent accidental activation. This way you save on battery life.

Speaking of battery, the Acebeam E70-SS runs on a single 21700 Li-ion battery rechargeable via a built-in USB-C port. The battery gives you a max of 11 days of use. But if you don’t have a fully charged spare, it is also compatible with a 18650 battery.

UNDONE Draws Inspiration From Vintage Japanese Artwork For Its Nippon Erotica: Shunga Collection

image

You can deny that Japanese culture has been one of the most influential across the globe. We can’t help but become fascinated with every aspect of their history from the feudal period to the modern. They’ve inspired everything from animation to fashion and we still want more. Once again, UNDONE steps up to bring us a piece of the past with its naughty yet fascinating Nippon Erotica: Shunga Collection.

Many would think that people were more conservative back then, but historians say otherwise. they say that by the 17th-century watchmakers were already offering these “special” personalization services. These customizations mostly catered to Western markets and depicted images based on such. UNDONE reimagines these in the form of two watches with an Eastern theme instead.

Exploring the UNDONE Nippon Erotica: Shunga Collection

image

As already implied by the name, the design of the duo is lifted from the erotic form of ukiyo-e (woodblock print or paintings). The Japanese refer to it as Shunga and was supposedly a good luck charm warriors of the time carry. UNDONE draws inspiration from the artworks to give us the Shunga: EDO and Shunga: MEIJI variants.

Both share the same technical specifications but sport varying images and colors. The one based on the 1603 – 1867 period features a beige and silver dial with a brown leather strap. Meanwhile, the other channels elements from 1868 – 1912 with its navy blue with silver dial and a gray suede strap.

A couple getting busy is printed just above 6 o’clock in the dial. To keep things discreet, UNDONE omits the racy parts from the dial. To get the full picture, all you need to do is to flip it over and view them in action on the case back. The old-school look and other vintage elements should appeal to buyers who want something retro on their wrist.

Getting Intimate With UNDONE’s New Timepiece

image

Now that you know what makes each chronograph in the Nippon Erotica: Shunga Collection different, it’s time we learn what they both share. These come in a polished 316L stainless steel case that measures 40 mm x 47.6 mm x 12.7 mm. This slim outline gives it a unisex appeal, which is a good balance in our opinion.

It’s easy to miss but the case band and sides edges of the lugs sport a brushed finish. Running down vertically below the 12 o’clock hour marker are the Kanji characters “當世風俗通.” Another one visible on the sub-dial at 9 o’clock is “春” which reads as Shunga.

Beneath the suggestive profile of the UNDONE Nippon Erotica: Shunga Collection is a reliable Japanese TMI VK64 Mechanical-Quartz Hybrid Flyback Chronograph movement. Each watch ships in beautiful packaging that gives you a hint of what to expect inside.

Ninja’s Juiced-Up Coffee Maker Does the Most

These days, it seems like making coffee is all about perfecting one type of brew. Methods like Aero Press, Chemex, French Press and espresso are having a moment, especially as interest in Starbucks and Dunkin alternatives rises. I have a handful of friends committed to swinging through the drive-thru on their way to work or for an afternoon pick-me-up, but if I were to poll everyone I know, I’d bet that the majority of them are more interested in buying high-quality beans to grind and brew at home.

When I’m looking for a coffee maker, I’m looking for a coffee shop-killer. Does Ninja’s Specialty Coffee Maker fit that billing? It earned a spot in our guide of the best coffee makers thanks to its ability to dish out an excellent single-serving brew, but it is much more than that. It’s pitched as a jack-of-all-trades, and I’d be remiss to leave out the fact that it won the Specialty Coffee Association’s coveted Certified Home Brewer certification — something of a rarity in the coffee world. Is it worth the money? I tested it to find out.

Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker

Ninja amazon.com

$378.40

What’s Good?

Speedy brewing: As is the case with many of the drip machines I’ve used over the years, you just set it and forget it…literally. It takes so long to brew that you forget you were making coffee. Most machines take forever to brew a full pot, but the Ninja is one of the speediest machines I’ve used. If I just want a single cup, it is lightning fast. If I want a full carafe, it only takes a few extra minutes to give me enough coffee to last a couple of days.

Variety: With six sizes and four brew strengths, its coffee-shop-killer abilities are on full display immediately. If you want just a few ounces of espresso-strength coffee, you can have it. If you want iced coffee, choose the “Over Ice” option and you’ll have a concentrated brew made with ice melt taken into account. Prefer drip? You can have a single-serve cup or choose to fill the glass carafe with 50 ounces at once. Should you crave something a bit fancier, the machine has a built-in frother that aerates milk, cold or hot, to your exact specifications. This means that a cold chai latte or a hot cappuccino is easily within reach, even for the inexperienced home barista.

The Not So Good

Size: This machine is very big. This might work for folks who are working with a ton of kitchen counter real estate, but if you don’t have a lot of room, it will be a tight squeeze, especially when compared with more labor-intensive single-serving coffee options.

Decent at everything?: This machine is able to do a lot. You might be enamored with the options it provides, but it will not blow your mind with any single brew method. Specialty mode yields espresso-like results but it doesn’t make true espresso by any means. The iced coffee method helps you make cold coffee at home, but it still comes out hot and requires a ton of ice to be cold enough to drink right away. This is fine if you have an ice maker or are a diligent ice-tray-filler, but could be a problem if you want multiple iced coffees in a short amount of time.

Verdict

The Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker is a jack-of-all-trades but a master of none. I really like this machine for someone who wants coffee each day but doesn’t want to head to the coffee shop to fulfill their caffeine addiction. Its combination of brew strengths and brew volume makes it a great option for homes with multiple people (or someone who drinks a whole pot by themselves each day). All in all, despite its quality across the board, it may leave serious coffee drinkers wanting more. It won’t make the best coffee you’ve ever had in your life, but it will absolutely do the trick if you want to make a variety of coffee drinks at home each week.

Honda Has a New Off-Road Trim to Take on Subaru and Toyota

Buyers love off-road styling and capability, even on not particularly off-road-oriented vehicles. Toyota already spiced up the RAV4 with a TRD Off-Road version. Ford launched a Timberline trim to beef up its crossovers. Subaru has debuted new Wilderness trims for both the Outback and the Forester. And Honda just announced a new TrailSport designation, which it says will be the “rugged halo for Honda light trucks.”

This content is imported from YouTube. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

What is Honda’s TrailSport?

Honda says that at first, TrailSport will be mostly a styling package. TrailSport vehicles will get rugged front and rear styling, durable cladding and interior details like high-contrast orange stitching. Capability upgrades will follow later with features like more aggressive tires, enhanced ground clearance, off-road-tuned suspensions, skid plates and an expanded AWD capability. It’s not clear yet where TrailSport falls between trim and full-on Honda sub-brand.

What vehicles will get Honda’s TrailSport trim?

Honda defines a light truck as basically anything that is not a Civic, an Accord or an Insight. So vehicles eligible for TrailSport should include SUVs like the CR-V, HR-V, Passport and Pilot, the Ridgeline pickup and even the Odyssey minivan.

Why is Honda creating a TrailSport trim?

Adventure-ready vehicles are trendy right now. Honda’s core appeal is not rooted in coolness or capability. A buyer looking for that will buy a Jeep Wrangler. You buy a Honda truck or SUV because they handle very well on the road (where you do most of your driving), they meet the practical needs you have and they are exceptionally durable and reliable. But a slightly more rugged appearance does sweeten the deal. And the eventually enhanced capability could help the Ridgeline, competing directly with midsize trucks like the Toyota Tacoma.

When will Honda’s TrailSport vehicles arrive?

Honda says that TrailSport vehicles will begin arriving at dealers in Fall 2021.

Sherpa Jackets to Slip in Your Outerwear Rotation

style

Courtesy

Few garments beat the rugged warmth of a sherpa jacket. These jewels don’t carry the hefty price tag of shearling, and they are closely associated with Western style — the budding darling of men’s fashion. The style as you see it below dates back to at least 1967, when Levi’s introduced a lined Type 3 Jacket. Style historians trace the textile’s emergence further back and even to a particular people — “Tibetan people living on the high southern slopes of the Himalayas in eastern Nepal” — but the sherpa collar peaked in the ’70s, most agree.

It remained a part of the working class wardrobe for both its warmth and its wearability — something soft yet plenty sturdy. The sherpa jacket is a durable, classic piece of American outerwear and, if it’s not already draped over your shoulders, should be a strong contender for your cold-weather jacket roster.

Sherpa Lined Deck Jacket

Dickies’ simple Deck Jacket represents refined workwear at its finest. Plus, there’s faux fur on the inside (and the collar) to keep you warm. The contrast between black cotton canvas and natural sherpa is surely something, too.

Indigo-Dyed Cord Jacket

Studio D’Artisan

Lo and behold the ultimate upgrade. Indigo-dyed corduroy contrasts soft brown synthetic sheep sherpa, and brushed black buttons. There are the usual two side pockets plus another snap-closure one on the chest.

Sherpa Trucker Jacket

Although this one differs a tiny bit from the Type III the sherpa lining debuted on, Levi’s modern Sherpa Trucker Jacket is inherently classic, albeit refined for modern bodies. It’s available in four washes, each with its own sherpa lining. Best of all, there’s no stretch in this denim, meaning it’ll better mold to your body instead of giving and eventually loosening.

Range Corduroy Sherpa Jacket

The exaggerated collar on Wrangler’s Range Corduroy jacket surely makes a statement. Sherpa lines the body while the sleeves are quilted, and brass buttons give the coat a vintage look.

Sherpa Deck Jacket

Flint and Tinder

Flint and Tinder’s US Navy-inspired Deck Jacket is arguably the simplest on this list — for good reason. No fuss and no frills means fewer opportunities for rips, tears and better functionality. It arrives washed with sherpa on the collar and through the body and nylon in the sleeves for easy on-off.

Peacenik Sherpa Lined Denim Trucker

Outerknown

Outerknown’s Peacenik Denim Trucker looks a bit like Levi’s, but the brand opts for a combination of organic and recycled denim and recycled polyester sherpa for a style that’s as sustainable as it is fashionable.

Cord Shearling Lined Jacket

Saint Laurent

Phew! $2,000 for this? Be nice. Saint Laurent’s Shearling Lined Jacket is constructed in Italy from ultra-fine corduroy and rich, rustic brass buttons. You’re paying for the fabrics and the fit, which is tailored and true to size.

Type III Sherpa Jacket

Levi’s Vintage Clothing

Feel like you’ve already seen this one? Well, technically you have. However, this is a Type III from Levi’s Vintage Clothing, a sub-label under the iconic American brand. This one’s truer to the original and it comes in this tonal black-on-black iteration.

The Sherpa Work Jacket

Line of Trade

The Sherpa Work Jacket from Line of Trade adheres to the workwear aesthetic most closely. It forgoes chest pockets in favor of two side slit ones, and the collar is small, albeit normal-sized. The exterior’s been waxed for waterproofing, and the zipper is YKK for longevity.

Pile Lined Trucker Jacket

A mix of recycled and organic materials make up Patagonia’s Pile Lined Trucker Jacket. Trust the outerwear brand even when it comes to lifestyle silhouettes, as they put everything they make through rigorous sustainability and durability tests.

Piasecki Says Its Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Powered PA-890 Will Take To The Skies in 2024

It wasn’t long ago when we were talking about some of the factors holding back the adoption of hydrogen fuel cells. Although many of us think that battery-electric systems are more sustainable, the recharging process might not be entirely green as we think. Piasecki makes its stand with the former to power its PA-890 rotorcraft.

You might be wondering why this chopper sports wings on the fuselage. The manufacturer is going for a compound configuration. These rotate vertically up to 90 degrees to improve efficiency when hovering. During regular flights, they are positioned horizontally to minimize drag.

The powerful main rotor features four blades with torque counteracted by the swiveling tail rotor. This also provides thrust during forward flight. According to Piasecki, this dynamic rotor system of the PA-890 dramatically improves efficiency and range.

Moreover, the electric motors generate lesser noise in contrast to contemporary helicopters. This eVTOL will be capable of passenger transport as well as logistics. The manufacturer also envisions its use for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) applications.

The PA-890 should appeal to the commercial travel sector with its projected 50% reduction in operating costs. Piasecki is supposedly sourcing the fuel cells from Hypoint. The technology from the provider apparently promises four times the energy density of lithium-ion batteries.

Piasecki says its hydrogen fuel cell eVTOL is still in the early development phase. It will take some time to squeeze out the best performance and mileage given the limitations brought about by current systems. Nonetheless, a working prototype should take its maiden flight sometime in 2024. After certification, deliveries of the PA-890 should start in 2025.

As one of the world’s leading brands when it comes to full-face motocross helmets, the Moto-10 Spherical packs the latest innovations.

You can get it in Gloss Black/White or Rhythm Matte/Gloss Black/Charcoal. We’re partial to the latter, for the contrast the varying surfaces give off. Maybe it’s because that we have a penchant for blackout chromatic combos. Thankfully, just like most brands out there, Bell also does.

As the name suggests, this Moto-10 Spherical helmet uses Spherical technology which encapsulates the users head with cutting-edge protection systems. Moreover, the manufacturer also considers ergonomics, weight, ventilation, and style.

The Moto-10 Spherical is equipped with MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) to mitigate dangerous rotational forces during an accident. Meanwhile, the segmented 3K shell structure features large vents to keep the wearer cool. Then there’s the panoramic goggle port for superior visibility and field of view.

In the event of a crash, the Magnefusion release system lets first responders can easily detach the pads to remove the helmet. As you can see, Bell spares no expense when it comes to safety. It will be difficult to find a motocross helmet that can measure up to the Moto-10 Spherical.

Originally slated to come out for the Xbox One, industry insiders hinted that Halo Infinite would release alongside the Xbox Series X instead. Here we are close to a year since the console came out and a limited-edition model is about to drop.

Whenever select AAA titles are announced, the manufacturer might back it up with a marketing gimmick. If you held off from a launch day purchase, the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite limited edition bundle seems like the best time to jump right in.

There’s no better way to celebrate 20 awesome years of blasting aliens as Master Chief. The long-running franchise has its ups and downs, but the latest installment is sure to blow you away. The Xbox Series X Halo Infinite limited edition packs more than just visual elements.

Nevertheless, you can’t deny that the theme they went with looks stunning. The outer shell of the console boasts bespoke graphics of stars as seen from the surface of Zeta Halo. Then there’s the custom paneling and a blue vent up top which draws inspiration from Cortana.

Meanwhile, the Xbox wireless controller that ships with the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite limited edition boasts a similar theme minus the stars. An optional Series 2 Xbox Elite wireless controller will be available for purchase as well and showcases a badass design based on Master Chief.

Microsoft already announced that the multiplayer aspect of the upcoming shooter will be free-to-play. Those who purchase the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite limited edition also get a copy of the game. We can’t wait to see what Sony comes up with for their first limited edition PS5.

Why Are Watches So Expensive?

After I tell people that I write about watches, the question inevitably arises: why do some watches cost so much? (This after the incredulity that one can actually make a living doing what I do.) There is always the guy in the group who says he’d never spend $5,000 on a watch; never mind that he has a $40,000 SUV that costs $100 a week to fill up with gas.

The easy way out of this discussion is to shrug and mumble something about brand prestige and high margins, at which point said guy flashes his $50 Ironman watch and says it keeps better time than his buddy’s Rolex. By then, it’s time to change the subject. After all, if you don’t “get” watches, the price question is largely a rhetorical one, anyway.

But in fact, the question of watch pricing is worth exploring. We’re not snobs. There are great watches to be had at nearly all price points, from sub-$1,000 dive watches to $30,000 or $100,000+ dress watches, and we try to celebrate all the good ones out there. But there is clearly a point at which the price curve goes more vertical in relation to a watch’s features. Here the value question comes into focus.

First of all, let’s get the obvious out of the way: there is a considerable markup on wristwatches. Since Swiss brands are notoriously tight-lipped about things like production numbers and costs, we can’t say for certain what the markup is, but we’re pretty confident it’s well north of 100%. Mind you, we’re talking merely about cost of producing the watch itself, not the overall overhead of R&D, marketing, etc. We’ll get to that in a moment. Established brands can tout their reputations and the cachet of the “Swiss Made” (however watered-down that may be these days) emblazoned on dials to charge a premium for their watches.

If none of us forked over $6,000 for an IWC Aquatimer, they wouldn’t sell for that price. Period.

The corollary to this is that people are still willing to pay top dollar for watches. The luxury timepiece industry is booming and shows no sign of letting up; those of us “consuming” watches are partially to blame for the high prices. After all, companies will price their products for what the market will bear. If none of us forked over $6,000 for an IWC Aquatimer, they wouldn’t sell for that price. Period.

The second reason watches are so expensive is the overhead incurred to produce them. We’re not just talking about the raw materials here, though those can sometimes be more considerable in price for watches with precious metal cases. Overhead for a watch company, like any other industry, includes materials, production, custom machinery, prototyping, design, and research and development.

A brand that outsources many of these functions, having cases made in Asia and sourcing off-the-shelf movements from third-party providers like ETA or Miyota, can avoid these costs and typically can sell watches for far less than companies that devise in-house movements, make cases and push the boundaries of what is possible in watchmaking. If you think it’s easy to make a split-second mechanical chronograph starting with a blank sheet of paper, think again.

It takes a team of watchmakers years to design complicated movements, create working prototypes and even build custom machinery to make specific parts before ramping up into production. And at the higher end, there’s the hands-on, time-consuming finishing of movements, dials and cases that is nothing less than art — and something you don’t see on more affordable timepieces. All of this doesn’t come cheap.

An extreme example here is a company like Rolex, who for years has operated its own foundry to alloy its own gold and forge its own cases. The Big R is an example of a vertically integrated company that covers all aspects of watchmaking from soup to nuts, or rather from bezel to hairspring. This complete control of its products is what helps Rolex maintain a sterling reputation for quality, but it also helps keep prices high.

When many people think of luxury watches, Rolex is the first name that comes to mind — though in the overall spectrum of brands, it is decidedly middle of the pack, price-wise. Given its reputation for high prices, Rolex created its “affordable” line (brand), Tudor, which at one time seemed to offer Rolex alternatives with sourced movements, but has in recent years developed its own personality — and in-house movements. So while the iconic Rolex Submariner (No-Date) costs over $8,000, the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight can be had for just under $4,000, both possessing similar features.

The third reason watches cost so much is because watch companies are largely marketing machines. It’s not enough these days to just say your watch tells time accurately. We’ve got smartphones for that. Now brands have to compete with each other to peddle lifestyle stories that make one watch more appealing than the next, regardless of its objective merits.

Ad budgets are astronomical, while press launches and annual watch fairs costs millions. We’d all like to think that we’re immune to marketing, able to cut through the hype to discern a quality timepiece from a lot of glossy photos and breathless ad copy. But what red-blooded male can resist lingering in IWC’s Manhattan boutique, with its flight simulator, dive locker and leather sofas, intermingled with vitrines of shiny chronographs?

Finally, the watches people typically think of as “expensive” are, after all, luxury products. By definition, they are completely unnecessary and have countless more affordable alternatives. Those of us working stiffs who save and scrimp to afford that nice Omega are merely playing in a realm that is really occupied by an upper class who buy watches like we might splurge on a new pair of shoes or a nice dinner out. Watches used to be more necessary, and mechanical watches were what everyone wore. Nowadays, they are emblems of quality, of tradition, of craftsmanship, and yes, sometimes of wealth, taste and prestige.

None of these reasons are justifications or excuses. We’d love it if watch prices were lower and we could afford that Jaeger-LeCoultre on an editor’s salary. At the same time, if luxury timepieces were affordable, they might not hold the same allure, and there is something to be said for holding those aspirational pieces, those “grails” that we covet and scheme to one day own. That said, hopefully now you can have a better answer for that guy who asks why your watch costs so much. Or you can take the easy path. Just smile and ask him why his watch costs so little.

Eone Revisits Its Tactile Timekeeping System On The Modular Switch Timepiece

Over the years, we’ve seen watchmakers occasionally take the bold route and break away from conventional design. In fact, some brands make it a mainstay to market timepieces that challenge the norm. We have our personal favorites, but Eone might just have something interesting up their sleeves. They’re calling it the Switch and for a good reason too.

To market an avant-garde wristwatch with a name that’s already associated with Nintendo’s hybrid system is a challenge. Yet, the intriguing minimalist design and modular nature of the Switch should be enough to attract buyers who desire the unique.

Since the early days of watchmaking, telling time was a visual and auditory affair. Eone intended to redefine timekeeping with the Bradley in 2014 which aids people who are visually impaired. This tactile platform is now making its way into the Switch along with some welcome extras.

It may look like an average timepiece, but it uses an intuitive complication to indicate the hours and minutes. Although you can figure it out visually, users can also do so by touch. Eone is doing away with the traditional components such as the crystal and hands.

Instead, there are two ball bearings that travel along a track with the help of magnets.  The inner one represents the minutes, while the outer indicates the hours. Raised textures on the dial ring replace the indices. Meanwhile, it runs on a Ronda quartz movement.

Eone ships the Switch with two interchangeable dial rings so owners can swap these out anytime. It will be available in October in three tones: black, rose gold, and silver. Finally, the watch is paired with a steel mesh bracelet to complete its classy profile.

Renard Speed Shop Dubs This Jaw-Dropping BMW R 1250 R Build The ‘Reimagined’

A great thing about aftermarket customizations is how you can totally revamp the design and performance of any ride. Enthusiasts know that there is more to this hobby than just replacement body kits. For motorcycles, there are certain brands most garages love to work with. BMW remains a popular choice as you can see with the “Reimagined” cruiser from Renard Speed Shop.

For this bespoke build, the group starts off with a stock R 1250 R from BMW Motorrad. Most people would say that the donor bike already looks good as is, but Renard Speed Shop thinks otherwise. After all, why settle for a sport touring model that looks like every other one out there, when you have something more exclusive.

Dubbed the “Reimagined,” they’re reworking the sporty silhouette of the motorcycle into something with a hint of aviation elements. The 1,250-cc Boxer engine is already an engineering masterpiece, so they’re not messing around with it. Thus, the spec sheet would still hold at 136 horsepower with 105 lb-ft of torque.

BMW’s variable camshaft control (ShiftCam) technology will ensure riders can squeeze out everything the power plant can offer. Renard Speed Shop endows the R 1250 R with a new fuel tank and body panels handmade from aluminum. Next are the triple tree fork and front grille which were CNC-milled from solid aluminum blocks.

We also love the front suspension covers, which have been 3D printed with remarkable precision. There’s also a stacked pair of round headlights and a new bobber-style seat with an integrated taillight. The “Reimagined” sits on a pair of spoked Jonich Wheels and boasts titanium Akrapovič mufflers sourced from a Ducati Panigale Superleggera.

Oswald Mill Audio Unveils The Sophisticated K3 Turntable For Discerning Audiophiles

In the way of functionality, the fundamental aspect of turntables has remained the same for over a century. Over the years, even as audio technology evolved from analog to digital, there remains a market for vinyl records. Meanwhile, modern manufacturing gives way to even more attractive aesthetics like the one showcased by the K3 from Oswald Mill Audio.

Although the trend these days is to take a minimalist approach when it comes to design, this high-end turntable is built to draw attention. As such, owners should place the device somewhere with a lot of foot traffic. On the other hand, it’s acceptable to have it in your man cave or entertainment room as well.

Oswald Mill Audio is yet to disclose the pricing, but others claim it’s something north of $200,000. Audiophiles will tell you that the remarkable craftsmanship, outstanding performance, and high-end materials that go into each K3 justifies the cost.

From a manufacturing perspective, there’s a lot going on for this turntable. Unlike others of its kind which have your typical outline, Oswald Mill Audio’s new model is one chunky boy. You’ll also notice the striking structure of its tonearm.

Credit goes to Frank Schroder for the use of a cutting edge SLM (Selective Laser Melting) technology to shape the aerospace-grade aluminum alloy into its intricate form. It also uses a heavy-duty direct drive motor system to spin the platter.

The latter comprises a 25-mm main bearing spindle, an inverted bearing, and a pressurized oil column for unparalleled accuracy. Oswald Mill Audio offers the K3 as a standalone turntable with an outboard Xenon tube rectified power supply. You can also get it with a stylish stand that houses the outboard components.

How to Factory Reset a Windows 10 Laptop

There’s nothing like a fresh start, for you and your gadgets both. If you’ve had your Windows laptop for a while, or it’s been acting up, or you’re just looking to try and reboot your digital habits, a reset is great option — if also a little extreme. Here’s how to do it, and a few things you might want to try first.

No matter who makes your laptop, the settings you need to completely wipe your operating system are in Windows 10 itself. Your laptop probably has more extreme options which involve booting into what’s called “safe mode,” but these vary from model to model and it shouldn’t be possible in most cases.

How to wipe and reset Windows 10.

The options to reset your install of Windows 10 live in Start > Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.

Alternatively, you can just type “Reset” into the Start Menu’s search bar, and it should return this page as your top result.

The “Recovery” page has three options, two of which we’ll be looking at here.

Factory resetting your devices with “Reset this PC”

This option will always

  • Reinstall Windows 10
  • Remove any apps and drivers you installed
  • Revert all settings to their defaults

If you choose “Keep my files,”: This will not remove local files like photos, videos, and documents, though it will still remove any apps you installed. You’ll also get an option for “Restoring preinstalled apps.” If you choose “yes,” the apps that came with your laptop will come back. If you choose “no,” they’ll be deleted.

If you choose “Remove everything”: Your local files will be deleted. You’ll also get the option to enable a “Clean data” setting. This will scrub your hard drive in addition to deleting your data, and is the most secure (but time-intensive) option.

Factory resetting your PC through “Advanced startup”

This option gives you more control, if you need it, and enables you to reset your computer in a more controlled and old-school way: with a recovery disk or USB. If you don’t already have a recovery USB, you can make one. This can be useful if you anticipate needing to reset your PC without access to the internet, or if you plan to reset multiple PCs.

Getting to the advanced startup menu requires rebooting your PC, so copy any files you need before you go. Once you get to the menu, there are a number of options, but if you’re looking to factory reset your PC, you’ll want to choose Troubleshooting > Advanced Options > System Image Recovery.
