Get The High Sans The Alcohol With the CBD-Infused Amass Afterdream

Unwind and relax in the comforts of your own home with the Amass Afterdream. It gives the same mind-mellowing effect as with other spirits but without the alcohol and that’s because of its mixture.

It is a cannabis-infused drink made with a blend of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD, and Delta-8 at 60mg each. The components mimic the feeling one gets when drinking a strong cocktail. You get that limb-loosening and mind-mellowing feeling aka, you get high. A 1.5 oz serve can take 20-40 minutes to take its full effect although the tolerance can vary according to a person’s experience with cannabis consumption. Likewise, the duration of the high also depends on one’s tolerance to cannabis.

The Amass Afterdream is totally non-alcoholic and only uses a proprietary hydrosteam distilled spirit as its base. Like other cocktails, it too has a pleasing smell and taste. Rosemary and mint mix with lemon gives it its sweet herbal aroma. Meanwhile, leafy botanicals like thyme and parsley give it a mildly citrus effect on the palate.

Then there’s the orris root with its bitterness mellowed down by fresh apple and cucumber. Other botanicals used in this beverage include juniper, coriander, angelica root, cardamon, sorrel, and sumac. One can enjoy this drink on the rocks mix with tonic or splashed with an array of cocktails.

The Amass Afterdream is shelf-stable although it’s best enjoyed within three months after opening. Aside from it being non-alcoholic, it is also vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. It has no artificial flavors and has no added sugars and synthetic coloring.

The James Brand Brings the Beauty of Rosewood + Damasteel To Its Knife Collection

The James Brand is no stranger when it comes to creating durable and beautiful sharp blades. Their new Rosewood + Damasteel Collection is no exception, with its use of Damascus steel that certainly catches the eye.

The Wayland, The Duval, the Chapter, and The Pike gets an elegant upgrade with the use of Rosewood scale Damasteel blade. The Wayland is the brand’s modern interpretation of the classic Barlow design. It features a non-locking slip joint, a 3.0-inch sheepsfoot blade made with Damasteel Rose DS93X, and a rosewood scale.  It clocks in at 2.8 ounces at an overall compact folding knife size of 6.9 inches.

On the other hand, The James Brand the Chapter features a rosewood + titanium scale and ceramic bearings. It has a 2.75-inch drop point blade made with Damasteel and employs a frame lock with minimal moving parts for low maintenance. It is relatively compact and thin, with a handle at just 0.38 inches and an overall length of 6.5 inches. This knife is also lightweight at 2.65 ounces.

Meanwhile, The Pike also gets the Rosewood treatment for the scale and the Damasteel for the Wharncliffe blade, which opens via a slip joint.   Unlike the Chapter which is ideal for right-handed users, this is ambidextrous. This is also smaller than the prior two, with a blade at just 2.3 inches and an overall length of 5.7 inches when fully opened and weighs 2.1 ounces.

Lastly, The James Brand The Duval is a front-flipper that features a frame lock and a 2.6-inch modified sheepsfoot blade. It has ceramic ball bearings and stainless steel hardware. It too has a rosewood scale and Damasteel blade and is the lightest among the knives in the collection at 2.0 ounces because of its titanium frame.

This Camper Van Is Almost Perfect, But There’s a Catch

When it comes time to decide on what sort of camping vehicles to buy (or even to rent), it can be tough to choose between a camper van and a full-on RV or camping trailer. The camper van will be more maneuverable and manageable, and it’ll also be significantly cheaper. But space is constrained — which means, in particular, that the bathroom situation is bound to be…less than ideal.

German van builders Ahorn Camp resolved this conundrum with their new Renault Trafic-based Van Big City model for 2022, as spotted by New Atlas. As the name suggests, the Van Big City is a slightly bigger version of their Van City model, and it has just enough space to squeeze in a full wet bath at the rear of the vehicle. Sure, it’s cozy, but it also fits in a toilet, a sink and a shower (with the option to also shower outdoors if so inclined).

There is one drawback: the Van Big City uses a pop-top roof for extra height and an extra sleeping area, so the bathroom is only enclosed at the sides — which means sounds (and smells) are free to emanate throughout the cabin. Sure, the setup is better than a standalone shower head and cassette toilet, but using it will require some coordination — especially if you’re taking a family trip or have more than one couple sharing the van. .

In addition to the bathroom, the Van Big City fits in an L-shaped kitchen with a two-burner stove and a 41-liter fridge. The van sleeps up to four passengers in two double beds, one in the pop-top and one atop the dinette, which converts to a sleeping area.

Ahorn Camp has priced the Van Big City starting at just under $52,000 — relatively affordable by camper van standards. Alas, this van won’t be available in the United States.

Forget the Apple Glass, Xiaomi Confirms Development Of Its Smart Glasses Concept

In 2011, Google billed augmented reality as the next big thing in technology. Many others soon followed suit and launched similar platforms aimed at tech-savvy consumers. Except for Microsoft’s HoloLens, everything else ended up largely forgotten. Xiaomi believes the market is now ready for a new pair of Smart Glasses, minus the limitations of its predecessors.

The HoloLens and its subsequent version may be the best you can get at the moment, but it’s hardly portable. You need to hook it up to a PC and it is quite expensive for casual use. Rumor has it Apple is working on AR glasses as well. However, Xiaomi’s announcement comes as a big surprise and could potentially hit retailers ahead of the competition.

From a design aspect, the Smart Glasses look like an average pair of eyewear. Instead of a projector and prism combo, Xiaomi proposes the use of another type of imaging technology. To shave off unnecessary bulk and weight from the frame microLEDs become the key components here.

This allows the integrated display unit to remain legible even under direct sunlight. The Smart Glasses ditches colors for a monochrome setup to improve the peak brightness. Meanwhile, the panel is equipped with an optical waveguide system from images the human eye can see.

According to Xiaomi, the device “functions as a new smart terminal with independent operating capability.” Therefore, this implies that even without a smartphone, the wearable is capable of versatile functionalities.

There’s a 5-megapixel forward-facing camera that can take photos, videos, and translate text in real-time. The Smart Glasses boasts Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity, touch controls, a quad-core ARM chipset, and batteries in a 51g package. Moreover, Xiaomi says it will run on Android, but likely with some customizations.

‘No Time To Die’ Villain Lyutsifer Safin Gets His Own Ultraboost 20 x James Bond Running Shoes

With the premiere date drawing ever closer, James Bond fever is once again upon us. Taking advantage of the hype surrounding the latest installment of the long-running spy movie franchise, major brands with tie-ins are now teasing their wares. A while back, we were able to preview a part of a collection — the Ultraboost 20 x James Bond.

This time, we also have the entire Adidas x 007 capsule to talk about. Before, we only had the murdered-out variant available. Little did we know that there were two more on the way. The trio of running sneakers sport a Primeknit upper, that ergonomically wraps your feet in comfort.

Adidas shares more about the kicks such as the hidden pockets behind the black lace cages. This feature is only applicable for the Core Black/Core Black/Core Black and Core Black/Core Black/Iron Metallic versions.

These two are what 007 would likely want to wear, but “No Time To Die” also has a new villain in town. As such, it’s only fitting that he — Lyutsifer Safin (played by Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek) – also receives some representation. His Ultraboost 20 x James Bond arrives in a concrete grey Primeknit textile upper.

According to Adidas, this shade represents the baddie’s bunker in the film. It receives a white lace cage, along with elements in the same color. Instead of the iconic barrel rifling badge on the tongue, it features a blueprint of Safin’s bunker.

Take a peek inside this Ultraboost 20 x James Bond and you’ll see a white sockliner with 007 printed in black. The rest of the catalog includes a track top, track pants, a jacket, and a t-shirt. The Adidas x 007 lineup drops on September 24, 2021.

The Complete Buying Guide to Fossil Watches

Fossil, an American-founded company, carried the generational baton from Timex in the horological relay race for market share. To reinforce the significance of Fossil in the marketplace, it’s best to let its competition do the talking: During Apple Events, the benchmark for Apple Watch sales is those of Rolex, The Swatch Group, and Fossil. Fossil continues to be relevant and should be in the conversation. Today, it remains one of the largest watch manufacturers in the world by volume, generating much of the Fossil Group’s $2 billion of annual revenue.

Fossil’s watch offerings vary from quartz to mechanical and from traditional to smartwatches, and can be found in almost every major department store for $100-300. The combination of availability, price accessibility, and variety of styles make Fossil’s watches ubiquitous, found on countless wrists around the world. If you’re overwhelmed by the sheer variety of the brand’s offerings, this guide should help you out.

Brand History

Fossil was founded in 1984 by American entrepreneur Tom Kartsotis, with their first watch made available to the public for sale by 1985, near the tail end of the Quartz Crisis. This period marked a time when upmarket European brands that produced mechanical watches had seen over a decade of declining sales as customers shifted buying preferences towards more affordable battery-powered timepieces. Fossil saw an opportunity and leveraged mid-century American watch aesthetics combined with low-cost overseas manufacturing and quartz movements. It was a hit.

Affordable quartz watches, such as Fossil, gained popularity in the mid-1980s — especially as they became a fixture in department stores’ jewelry sections. It took less than ten years for Fossil to reach $20 million in annual sales. To further disrupt the traditional watch industry, in 1990 Fossil began participating in the iconic watch and jewelry trade show Baselworld alongside traditional Swiss watch brands. Fossil’s highly stylized quartz timepiece offerings created a popular market by providing a less expensive alternative to luxury European timepieces.

The popularity of Fossil watches continued to grow in the 1990s, with increasing annual revenue leading the brand to becoming a publicly traded company (FOSL) on the NASDAQ. The increase in operating capital allowed the brand to diversify its offerings into leather accessories, sunglasses, and handbags. It sustained the trajectory of growth throughout the 1990s, opening Fossil-branded stores to solidify its position as a lifestyle brand. By the mid-1990s Fossil began acquiring the rights to manufacturing and distribution of watches made for fashion brands such as Emporio Armani and intellectual property giants such as Disney.

Fossil eventually departed from midcentury designs in favor of more modern ones, such as their patented “BIG TIC.” (This design uses traditional hour and minute hands; however, instead of a seconds hand, the dial contains a large LCD digital displaying the seconds.) Other innovations during this period include the 2003 launch of the (pre-smartwatch) Fossil Wrist PDA that ran Palm OS. These innovations were only part of the growing Fossil brand, now part of the Fossil Group. The Fossil Group continued to acquire other watch brands, most notably Zodiac and Michele, as well as license watch design and manufacturing from fashion brands such as Burberry, Diesel, Michale Kors, and the National Football League.

Fossil

While building a juggernaut to increase its product offerings, Fossil bought suppliers and manufacturing facilities to combine with state-of-the-art warehousing, distribution, and retail stores. The Fossil Group was able to fully integrate its supply chain by founding Swiss Technology Production (STP) to manufacture its watch movements — this allowed it to break away from buying movements from outside suppliers such as ETA or Stellita. Fossil even began offering a Fossil Swiss line to move upmarket, which it did by placing the Fossil watch design studio in Biel, Switzerland — the same town in which Rolex is headquartered.

Fossil founder Tom Kartsotis developed a close friendship with Jake Burton Carpenter, founder of Burton Snowboards and has since served on the board of directors there since 2004 (while serving as CEO of Fossil Group). Kartsotis and Carpenter’s entrepreneurial stories have similar paths, with roots in American design that leveraged overseas manufacturing to grow their companies into full lifestyle brands. Jake Carpenter loved watches, and he’d only been known to wear Rolex, selections from the Fossil Group, and Shinola.

Kartsotis stepped down as CEO of Fossil in 2010 to re-launch Shinola as a lifestyle brand focused around watches, and also has a financial stake in American outdoors and leather goods company Filson. The Fossil Group is currently run by Tom’s brother, Kosta Kartsotis, with headquarters in Richardson, Texas.

Chevy Is Building Some Badass Heavy Duty Suburbans, But Not for You

Chevy is bringing the Suburban HD back, but, at least for the first batch of super-tough Suburbans, you won’t be able to buy one. GM subsidiary GM Defense — builders of the Chevy Colorado-based Infantry Squad Vehicle — has announced a $36.4 million deal with the U.S. State Department to produce 10 custom Chevy Suburban vehicles. Yes, if you’re doing some simple math, that comes out to $3.64 million per Suburban.

How do you get a $3.64 million Suburban? Well, government weight and payload requirements exceed the capability of the civilian Suburban. So GM needs to build a bespoke body-on-frame chassis and suspension for the vehicles to account for that. GM Defense says it will use stock components for the body, exterior, interior, propulsion system and brakes.

GM Defense did not note what that propulsion system would be. The Biden administration has been pushing to convert government fleet vehicles to EVs assembled in America, so an electric motor could be possible; after all,he Hummer EV SUT‘s powertrain is designed to work with a truck checking it at more than 4.5 tons. The upgraded super-powerful diesel engine that may arrive in the next Silverado HD could be another option.

Delivering the 10 Suburban vehicles may only be the first stage of the project. GM Defense says the second phase of deliveries could be a contract to produce 200 heavy-duty Suburbans per year for the government through 2032. Presumably, if GM Defense has the tooling in place and the research development cost sorted with the first batch, the per-vehicle cost would decrease.

And, hey, if GM already has a chassis, suspension, and propulsion system in place for a heavier-duty Suburban, it would make it a lot easier for Chevy to revive the civilian version.

Down has been tied inexorably to the pursuit of adventure for generations. And in more recent times, relegated to the pursuit of a good cup of coffee or a simple walk around the block. The Waatr Bottle Boasts a 4D Purification System

Enjoy clean, safe, and fresh-tasting water with the Waatr Bottle. It comes with a 4D purification system to ensure your water is free of chemicals, toxins, bacteria, and other contaminants.

From the same team that brought the CrazyCap, this innovative bottle boasts a three-stage state-of-the-art filtration and purification system. First, it uses dual UVC LEDs to disinfect 99.99 percent of viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens. Then it filters using a proprietary blend filter cartridge system of coconut charcoal and ion-exchange resin to remove metals, chemicals, organic and particulate matter. Coco charcoal is great at capturing organic molecules and chlorine because it is very porous.

Meanwhile, the ion-exchange resin is a spherical porous bead resin material that is very effective in reducing the hardness of the water. There are three filter cartridges for the Waatr Bottle to choose from: Purist, for the purists, Artesian for the idealists, and Alkaline, for those who constantly hydrate. Lastly, it uses a natural blend of chemicals to make it taste like artisan water.

All these work with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is protected via an IPX7 waterproof cap. The bottle also comes with safety features including short-circuit protection, overcharge, and over-discharge protection. The bottle cleans itself with UVC light every hour for 20 seconds to keep it bacteria, mold, and virus-free. You can also disable this feature to conserve the battery.

Moreover, the Waatr Bottle has RGB status indicators. Green reminds you to hydrate, red when it’s time to recharge the battery, and blue when it’s purifying water. With its wide mouth, it’s easy to add in ice and its flip-open spout makes it convenient to drink.

Top 10 Xbox Game Pass Games to Play in 2021

With the launch of the new Xbox series X|S and PS5, things have gotten a lot spicier in terms of game developers trying to take full advantage of the new technology and making games as badass as they possibly can. And while the list for the new console games goes on and on. I have gathered up the top 10 Xbox Game Pass games that you should definitely play in 2021.

Sunset Overdrive

Sunset Overdrive is the first game on my list, and it’s a pleasure to play. Now this game has beyond all degrees of lunacy, and it appears that the makers only had ONE GOAL in mind: to make the game as enjoyable as possible, with no regard for logic!

The game has a plethora of powerful and deadly weapons, as well as a fun and unusual physics system, some interesting characters, and a gorgeously designed setting. Inside the game, there’s a lot going on, from player ziplining to blowing each other up with rockets! So, if you’re searching for a good time and you have the Game Pass, this one is a no-brainer!

Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves started out as kind of a failure for many but the game has changed a lot since then and the developers have been adding new and fun features to the game to keep the players interested. Now that the game is available on Game Pass, you can get started with a Sea of Thieves account and battle it out with your friend online.

I enjoy the game’s unique gameplay and fighting system, in which, unlike other typical multiplayer shooters, you must work together to discover places using your compass, use the same weaponry as any other player in the game, and sail your own ship while battling other players!

Knockout City

When it comes to wild games, Knockout City is the most exhilarating adrenaline-fueled multiplayer game that brings back memories of your childhood sport “dodgeball” in the most surprisingly enjoyable way! Knockout City, unlike any other dodgeball game, blends the old beat’em up with a current touch of Battle Royale games, resulting in a game that gets you all psyched up!

In the blink of an eye, everything may spiral out of control. There’s so much going on in the game, and while learning how to use the controls is simple, mastering it is as challenging as it gets! There are a variety of game types to choose from, including team deathmatch, that will make you feel perfectly at home!

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

This Star Wars-inspired game from Respawn offers everything you could want: a wonderful plot, extremely gorgeous visuals, fast-paced action-packed gameplay, and some fantastic voice acting that adds to the sense of immersion that this game is attempting to create.

Despite the fact that I am not a huge fan of Star Wars games, this one, in particular, is a combination of everything that is wonderful about a lot of them. It doesn’t get any better than this if you enjoy single-player story games.

Outriders

When it was revealed that Outriders will be available on the Xbox Game Pass, it practically took the gaming industry by storm. Outriders is one of the greatest looter/shooter games published this year, and how could it not be when it comes from the venerable Square Enix?

As you battle your way through a swarm of opponents, you’ll feel a continual surge of adrenaline as you use not just your weapons, but also some cool-looking abilities to shred your foes apart! This AAA blockbuster is unquestionably one of the greatest games on Xbox Game Pass, and it will keep you glued to your screen for hours! I hope you do have a game pass to grab the Outriders account to experience how great it can be.

Hades

Roguelike games are one of the oldest gaming genres, and they remain popular to this day. In addition, if you enjoy roguelike games, Hades is a must-play. This game has some of the most unusual but appealing graphics, as well as an equally thrilling action-packed gameplay and level generating system that will put your gaming abilities to the test!

This hack and slash roguelike from Supergiant Games is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, and now that you have a game pass, you’ll be able to discover just how intricate this Greek mythology-based game is! If this were a ranking of the best roguelike games, this game would be at the top of the list without a doubt.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is likely the only 2D platformer on this list, and for good reason: when it comes to stunning visuals, captivating sound effects, a compelling story, fluid gameplay, and pretty much everything else that makes a game a true masterpiece, Ori and the Will of the Wisps has it all!

This all-in-one bundle has some of the most addicting gameplay you’ve ever seen in ANY game! The game takes you on a wild adventure through some wonderfully created regions populated by massive creatures. The EXTREMELY fluid battle animations are one of my favourite aspects of this game. It basically makes everything better by a factor of a hundred!

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Yakuza has been out and around for years now but many of us haven’t actually played any of the games in the series and that is why it feels too late to start now. But fortunately, Like a Dragon allows you to dive into this carefully constructed game, which transports you to the realm of crime lords and requires you to do a variety of tasks in order to proceed through this winding tale.

Like a Dragon is an amazing thriller for anybody looking for action-packed battle scenes, a compelling plot, and memorable characters; this game checks all the boxes!

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

Now, I’m sure you’ve heard about this game before, but if you weren’t convinced to play it before, if you have a game pass, you should certainly check it out now. Hellblade depicts the narrative of a young Viking warrior who travels to Helheim, a genuine hellhole, in order to rest her lover’s soul!

With the way the storey evolves and how Senua’s journey links the players to the heroine and the way her choices and suffering touch you, the game genuinely pushes the envelope. Hellblade also features some of the greatest graphics and environment settings of any game, completely immersing you in a manner that no other game can.

Plague’s Tale

A Tale of the Plague For a variety of reasons, Innocence is one of my favourite games on this list. This triple-A movie-like game, set in an alternate past, tells the storey of two young aristocratic siblings caught up in politics and religion while seeking to discover a cure for the Bubonic plague.

This story-driven game puts you in the shoes of two disadvantaged siblings who must rely on their wits and stealth to remain alive. Plague’s Tale is a fantastic game that takes you on a trip full of secrets, riddles, and emotions!

2021 Hyundai Elantra Limited

These days, “Win the Super Bowl, drove off in a Hyundai” doesn’t pack quite the insulting punch it did when Kanye first issued them in 2005. After all, Hyundai has upped their game over the last decade and a half like few carmakers ever have; here in 2021, Hyundai (and Kia, and Genesis) products are capable of standing toe to toe — or even above — the competition. The new Elantra isn’t just aiming to win on quality and features, though; it’s aiming to make a splash with its design, as one glance at its creased sheetmetal will tell you. This is not a compact car for those who want to blend in.

My top-trim Elantra Limited’s biggest distinguishing features versus less leather seats and a 10.3-inch touchscreen, but really, anyone actually shopping for an Elantra would be better off going with a lesser model. Even the base car packs an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, blind spot detection, and the same 147-hp inline-four that gets 33 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway for around $20K; the mid-tier SEL adds the ability to pair the car with your phone and and to open the trunk without using your hands for about $1,300 more, and the $950 Convenience package brings stop-and-go active cruise control, heated seats and the Limited’s bigger screen, among other things. In other words, you can have a damn nice Elantra for under $22K out the door.

And in all honesty, there’s little in the Limited that would leave you wanting to spend the extra cash. The upmarket stereo is acceptable, not great; the leather is decent, but not notable; and the interior trim’s hard plastic seems much more suited to a car closer to 20 grand. The Elantra’s best traits are its inherent qualities — its design, its roominess, its efficiency and its value. At $26K for a Limited, it’s competing against bigger, better vehicles; at $22,000 or so, it’d be a solid choice for anyone who needs four wheels and wants some style. —Will Sabel Courtney

Pros: Looks like a more expensive car outside, excellent fuel economy; tons of features

Cons: CVT doesn’t really make the most of what power there is; you’ll spend hours trying to figure out that circle on the left side of the dash and be annoyed when you learn it doesn’t do anything

Samir Sadikhov Combines Two Iconic Mercedes-Benz Models Into the G-Van Concept

Sometimes, is fun to imagine what a combination of two popular car models would look like. If your thought process is somewhat like Samir Sadikhov, then this Mercedes-Benz G-Van proposal should look like the real thing. The German automaker might never make something like it, but a man can dream, right?

As the name suggests, this idea sees the Sprinter reimagined with the boxy outline of the beloved G-Class platform. With the help of some image editing wizardry, we have a profile that closely resembles Mercedes-Benz’s heavy-duty Unimog, albeit with some modifications.

The Germany-based industrial designer boasts a stellar portfolio of sleek concept cars. Moreover, his experience working with Lamborghini, Ford, and Rezvani is clearly a huge help here. The G-Van concept appears to be fully equipped for any adventure. Roof racks let you take your favorite toys along for the trip.

This vehicle boasts the best of both worlds. There’s a generous interior to accommodate you and the whole gang. Plus, the off-road-ready configuration implies it’s perfect for overlanding enthusiasts as well. If this ever heads into production, we just wish somebody turns it into an RV.

Low-light visibility won’t be an issue thanks to the roof-mounted array of LEDs. To navigate over obstacles, there’s a bespoke suspension system to lift the chassis up. Meanwhile, the huge wheel wells make way for the beefy BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. Owners can likewise add aftermarket upgrades as needed.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Van might not be an actual production model, but we believe it deserves a reliable and powerful engine. Sadikhov did not mention anything related to the powertrain. Anyway, what really makes it appealing is the silhouette of a rough-and-tumble and go-anywhere machine.

5 of the Best New Gadgets This Week — That Aren’t the iPhone 13

Apple’s iPhone 13 event on Tuesday made a lot of headlines as it always does, including here on Gear Patrol. If you somehow haven’t heard about it, you can catch up on all the important bits about the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, and new iPads here.

But! Apple products weren’t the only things to come out this week! Here are five noteworthy announcements and releases that snuck under the radar, and which you’ll want on yours.

Sonos Beam (Gen 2)

tech roundup

Courtesy

On Tuesday, Sonos announced the second generation of its Sonos Beam soundbar, notable for being a Dolby Atmos capable soundbar that comes in under the $500 mark at just $449. At half the price of the flagship Sonos Arc (which is now $900 after a price hike that affected a number of Sonos speakers), the Beam makes for a relatively affordable entry into Dolby Atmos for the relatively budget conscious, or those with small rooms to fill. Without the upward-firing drivers of the Arc, it won’t have quite the same quality (or quantity) of sound, but it’s definitely a worthwhile addition to many a Sonos system for its size and price.

If you’re looking for a home theater without restraint, look no further than LG’s latest behemoth display that really puts the “theater” in home theater. Less a series of discrete products and more of an option to order custom displays, LG’s Direct View LED Extreme Home Cinema Displays range in resolution from 2K to 8K and size from 108 inches to 325 inches — that is to say, 9 feet to just over 27. How much does it cost? Well, if you have to ask…. (A little over a mil and a half.)

Xiaomi 11T Pro

tech roundup

You won’t have an easy time putting your hands on Xiaomi’s latest flagship if you live here in the States, but it’s worth highlighting if for no other reason than to talk about the way it charges. The 11T Pro comes with a 120W charger that Xiaomi says can charge the phone’s 5,000 mAh battery from 0-100 in about 17 minutes. For reference, Apple’s MagSafe chargers pump power at a rate less than a tenth of that: 15W, at the high end.

Now, do you need your battery to go from 0-100 in 17 minutes? Probably not. Is it good for the battery? Also probably no. Is it impressive as hell? Well duh.

No, it’s not for normies, but Canon’s new sports-focused not-quite-flagship EOS R3 is one impressive bit of specialist photography kit. The high-end full-frame mirrorless EOS R3 sports a 24MP CMOS sensor, but its main attraction is probably Canon’s Dual Pixel AF system with automatic tracking for humans, animals and more paired with the ability to shoot up to 30 frames per second (RAW!) with the electronic shutter.

GoPro Hero 10 Black

tech roundup

GoPro’s latest action cam packs a new, homegrown GP2 processor which is the follow up to the GP1 chip the company rolled out in 2017. GoPro credits that upgrade for the Hero 10 Black’s ability to shoot 5.3K at 60 frames per second, 4K at 120 frames per second and 2.7K at 240 frames per second. Another key part of the release is the Hero 10 Black’s cloud capabilities: when connected to power, the GoPro can automatically upload your footage to a cloud account — if you’re paying $5 per month or $50 a year for a subscription. If you buy it from GoPro, you can get it for $400 with an included one-year subscription to get you hooked. Or you can go without a sub and get it for…$100 more. Yeah, it’s weird.

Marshall Bolsters Its True Wireless Earbuds Lineup With The Motif A.N.C.

A while back, we pointed out a trend wherein almost every audio brand will eventually offer true wireless earbuds. Most established companies back then were probably on the fence and thought it was just a marketing gimmick doomed to fail. Fast-forward to 2021 and we now see Marshall join the fun with the Motif A.N.C. and it looks awesome.

Among the TWS earphones Men’s Gear has been featuring so far, we’re loving the manufacturer’s aesthetic direction here. Much like the majority of its speakers, headphones, and other products, it carries the distinct Marshall theme. Moreover, the Motif A.N.C. boasts a water-resistant construction.

One popular feature most buyers go for in a pair of true wireless earbuds is active noise cancelation and transparency mode. Since Marshall is going up against the likes of Apple, the Motif A.N.C. is matching it as well. To efficiently filter out unwanted noise, it comes with three sealed-fit silicone tips.

Choose the most comfortable among the bunch and let the ergonomics take care of the rest. Be sure to use the size that doesn’t move around so the buds don’t fall out. Control your music or make/receive calls with a touch of the “M” badge on the housing. We also love the knurling on the short stems.

Matching the look of its world-renowned speakers is the charging case, with the familiar Marshall script up front affixed to the lid. Lift this up to reveal a printed text that reads “EST. 1962” in gold. The Motif A.N.C. is compatible with wireless chargers and adds another 20 hours on top of the 4.5 hours battery life of the earbuds.

It helps that every Lange watch is refined to exceptional standards, but it also signifies that the brand’s take on classical German watchmaking incorporates room for creativity and daring.

This Startup Just Blew Away Tesla’s Most Important Advantage

Tesla invented the premium EV segment. And they have been riding a key advantage that has kept them a step ahead, even as the likes of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche have come to compete: battery and powertrain technology. Build quality concerns aside, no manufacturer has been able to match or exceed Tesla on range and performance. That just changed dramatically.

Lucid Motors threw down the gauntlet to Tesla, promising their Air sedan would exceed the Model S on range with superior aerodynamics and a more efficiently packaged powertrain. The Air delivered. The EPA has officially rated Air Dream R AWD with 19-inch wheels for 520 miles, representing a massive step forward for EV technology. The Air Dream P performance version that bumps the power output to 1,111 horsepower earned a 471-mile rating.

The Lucid Air bests the Tesla Model S Long Range by 115 miles. For perspective, it was considered a massive deal when the Model S broke the 400-mile barrier in 2020. Tesla had planned its own tri-motor Model S Plaid Plus with its new 4680 battery cells that it said would bring 520 miles of range. However, Tesla canceled the Plaid Plus shortly before production started, with Elon Musk claiming there was no need for it as the Model S Plaid was “just so good.”

We expect Tesla will revisit the Plaid Plus Model S or something similar to battle the Lucid Air in the future. However, that would mean adding that to a Tesla to-do list that includes the Semitruck, the Cybertruck, the Roadster — which buyers put $50,000 deposits on and may be powered by rockets— and Level 5 autonomous driving tech intended to turn Tesla vehicles into a massive robotaxi fleet. Purportedly there’s a robot coming as well.
