5 To-Do List Apps to Help You Be Productive

Those of us working remotely have a whole host of all new distractions. Whether it’s the kids, the dog or the silent calling of the video game console in the next room, it’s more difficult than ever to stay focused and get work done. Maybe it’s time for you to try a to-do list app?

A to-do list app can help you plan out your day by reminding you to knock out one task or chore at a time — no more procrastinating or forgetting to do something. There are many different to-do list apps out there, so it’s important to find one that works for you.

Is Seaweed the Sustainable Performance Fabric of the Future?

With the drop of Satisfy’s American Desert line, the Parisian running brand introduces a sustainable bio-based fabric for post-run recovery that’s plucked from the ocean. The new batch of Cosmetic Tees — classic tees, muscle tees, and long-sleeved shirts adorned with photography by Jungjin Lee — feature seaweed-derived SeaCell, a fiber with health and environmental advantages that, for some, might be worth the $200-plus price tag.

Seaweed is loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and taking advantage of its beneficial properties isn’t anything new. For thousands of years, seaweed has been harvested for food, fuel, fertilizer, skincare, medicine and recently, even skis. The Ancient Romans used it to dress wounds (it’s still being used in medical innovations today), while 17th Century Japanese textile makers used seaweed to make clothing stronger. Now, modern technologies have further adapted the marine plant’s usability, incorporating it into fabric production to create garments that lock the health benefits into wearable fabrics.

“The idea of incorporating SeaCell into our Cosmetic Tees was to create a post-run collection that accelerated the recovery process,” explains Satisfy founder Brice Partouche. “[These garments] have an anti-oxidative capacity which eliminates free radicals while caring for the wearer’s skin.”

After a run, natural moisture levels enable an active exchange of those restorative substances between the shirt and skin, which can repair cellular damage, reduce inflammation and soothe itchiness. While wearing a seaweed-woven shirt might not offer T-1000-like regeneration, any improvement in oxidative stress is more than any other T-shirt can do.

The environmental impact of this seaweed-based fabric is also worth shouting out. SeaCell is 100 percent biodegradable and produced solely from sustainable raw materials—seaweed and wood. “The seaweed is first washed, dried, carefully ground and then incorporated into an organic cotton fiber,” explains Partouche. In case you’re thinking that you’d be wearing a seaweed shirt held together with a bit of cotton, it’s really the other way around; the cotton-to-seaweed ratio is 80-to-20.)

It’s also sustainably harvested, removing only the part that can regenerate and leaving it entirely untreated, retaining all its organic value. Production is carbon neutral and takes place in a closed loop with no chemicals released as waste. The result: a wearable fiber that isn’t wreaking havoc on the planet.

Satisfy

From an environmental standpoint, SeaCell and technologies like it (there are a few players in the wearable seaweed game) can be pretty revolutionary. Many of today’s fabrics are petroleum-derived, which presents a host of thorny problems. Woven from plastic-based acrylic, nylon, spandex and polyester, these clothes often end up in landfills — textiles make up a good chunk of the stuff we throw away. In addition to using a shit-ton of chemicals, water and energy, there’s the heavy cost of greenhouse gas emissions and the microplastic pollution that ends up in the air, land and oceans.

Some companies, Satisfy included, are mitigating damage by switching to recycled fabrics (the brand’s ReNylon material is produced from upcycled nylon in a fully chemical-free recycling process). Garment makers should be celebrated for shifting towards more sustainable production. Getting plastic bottles and fishing nets out of waterways to be repurposed for apparel is certainly cause for recognition.

But while these materials are recyclable, they still aren’t biodegradable or compostable. Incorporating game-changing technologies like SeaCell takes “eco-friendly” to the next level. In other words, when you add the benefits together, a seaweed T-shirt might be the best thing you can wear — for your health and for the planet’s.

A Gear Patrol reader asks: “Had an unfortunate incident last night and my Gear Patrol x Hamilton watch was stolen from my AirBnB in Mykonos. It has become my favorite watch and my daily wear. Can you recommend any replacements? Would very much like to replace my adored favorite watch.”

The Expert:
First off, we want to send our condolences; that’s really unfortunate to hear about your watch — especially on vacation. We checked in with our team and, while there aren’t any immediate plans to re-release this collab in the future, we were able to figure out some alternatives that should come close to replacing this watch.

“It should be easy to get a very similar Hamilton watch just without some of the Gear Patrol-orange details. The whole Khaki Scuba Auto line is nice and comes down to a matter of choosing some colors. In our opinion, this rubber strap option is pretty close to the Gear Patrol watch. This option is also very close, especially if you’re looking for a replacement with orange accents.” – Zen Love, Staff Writer, Watches.

Lexus Goes Wild With a New ATV Concept That Runs on Hydrogen

Earlier this week — and after much anticipation — Lexus unveiled the new 2022 LX 600 SUV. It’s a luxurious American version of the new Land Cruiser and shares a V6 powertrain with the new Toyota Tundra pickup. The LX wasn’t a shock; it’s just about the most characteristically “Lexus” vehicle one could imagine, except perhaps the LS sedan. But Lexus also released a different vehicle you would not have expected this week.

This content is imported from YouTube. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

At the end of the LX announcement video, Lexus teased a new mobility concept called the “Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle,” or ROV. It’s an all-terrain vehicle — or, as we will choose to interpret it, a supremely badass golf cart — that runs on a hydrogen combustion engine. Sadly, Lexus did not include an utterly superfluous spindle grille, although the shape of the front end will certainly remind you of that shape.

Toyota has been a (or rather, the) major proponent of hydrogen in the automotive world; it even sells a fuel-cell sedan, the Mirai. Though a hydrogen combustion engine is markedly different. A hydrogen fuel cell vehicle is an electric-motored car that generates electricity through a chemical reaction. A hydrogen combustion engine is, as the name suggests, a combustion engine that burns hydrogen instead of gas.

An ATV makes perfect sense as a showcase for hydrogen combustion. One of the technology’s most significant drawbacks for current production use is that it can’t produce as much power as gasoline combustion engines with the same size engine footprint. So a low-speed wood path cruiser could get away with far less power than a recreational on-highway vehicle.

Toyota did race a hydrogen combustion-powered Corolla at the Fuji 24 hours endurance race. But Toyota had to fill up the entire cargo bay with hydrogen storage. And even then, it had to pit for fuel 35 times in 358 completed laps.

Hydrogen combustion technology is cleaner, though not zero-emission. Those engines still burn nitrous oxide, which is a potent greenhouse gas. There are also ample emissions involved in the production of hydrogen.

It’s not sure yet how or whether hydrogen combustion engines will enter Toyota’s production plans. But we would be all-in on fancy, terrain-conquering golf carts (and perhaps the type of golf that would require such vehicles) becoming a thing.

New Balance’s Weirdest Sneaker Ever Drops This Weekend

nb

New Balance

“I was very familiar with how shoes made me feel from an early age, so I knew that I wanted to be a part of it,” sneaker designer Salehe Bembury recently told The New York Times. “They made me feel powerful, they made me feel like I could fly.”

The LA-based Bembury’s newest collab, the 574 YURT with New Balance, can’t make you fly. But they do come with a whistle on the heel, which can help you corral your hiking crew, scare off crazed wild animals (if you whistle hard enough) or annoy your friends in a carpool. Your call.

Hikes, particularly in LA, where Bembury moved to for a job on Kanye West’s YEEZY design team, have inspired a handful of his shoes since leaving Versace (where he was VP of Footwear Design) last December. It was when the work stopped that Bembury began appreciating the natural landscape.

“It was almost as if I looked up and noticed my surroundings. I started hiking everyday, camping often, and made nature a consistent part of my life,” Bembury told Bodega. “The drastic change in environment has affected my design work consciously and subconsciously in a very positive way. I would argue that nature and more specifically National Parks of the Southwest is the foundation of my New Balance collaboration.”

They’re sneakers with a secret whistle.

Bembury, fresh off a successful collab with Anta, views the 574 YURT as a pivotal release — one that combines his love for sneakers and the outdoors, while showcasing his insatiable design curiosity. The latter is what lead him to the whistle idea.

Bembury would kit himself out for these hikes, which usually included friends (or interviewees, as he’d ask them questions and post the conversations on his Instagram Stories). Complete with a bluetooth speaker, weighted vest and whistle to ward off coyotes, he’d ascend LA’s local parks.

His Antas were once his go-to hiking sneaker but the new 574s might soon replace them. They feature a beefier outsole to stock 574s, a new cushioned midsole and durable suede and mesh upper overlays. (And, of course, the whistle on the heel.)

Now, wearers — Bembury included — can kill two birds with one stone: Trek a trail, reach the top, wipe off the whistle and serenade a silent trail (or scare off coyotes, of which there are several hundred thousand in California).

The 574 YURTS in both colors, Forest Green and Shark Skin, are available via Bembury’s own site, Spunge, on October 16th at 9am PST (12 PM EST). They’ll hit New Balance’s online store on October 22nd at 10 AM EST.

Toyota Is Building a Super-Cool Off-Road Truck Camper Tacoma

We thought Toyota outdid themselves for the SEMA show in 2020 when they built the ultimate camping trailer Tacoma owners did not know they needed — from a second Tacoma bed. But as it turns out, Toyota is cooking up something even cooler and Tacoma-related for the 2021 SEMA show.

This content is imported from YouTube. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

Toyota has announced on their YouTube page that they’re building “Tacozilla,” an off-roading camper homage to Toyota’s truck-based camper collaborations with Chinook in the 1970s. It will be a custom truck camper built on a modern Tacoma TRD Sport with a manual transmission.

The project isn’t complete yet, so we only have an artist rendering of how it will look. But Toyota plans call for a tiny, full-service motorhome with a sleeper compartment above the cab, a kitchen, a dining table and a toilet. Toyota says it will be a beast that will do the business off-road with minimal overhangs. The drawing shows chunky Cooper Discoverer tires and a sweet vintage color scheme as well.

We should see the finished Tacozilla unveiled at or around the time of the 2021 SEMA Show, which runs Nov. 2-5 in Las Vegas. The video, by the way, is labeled “Episode 1,” which suggests Toyota will be chronicling the build process toward the completed vehicle.

It’s not clear that Toyota will put a Tacoma-based factory truck camper into production — we still can’t buy a Tacoma bed trailer. But even the most outlandish car concepts have some connection to what the automaker is considering for future product plans.

And hey, if you don’t want to wait for Toyota to build a camper, you could always outfit your Tacoma to be the ideal car camper yourself.

The more you wear it, the more it takes the shape of your body, so no two Planet Earth Jackets will ever be exactly the same. The 7 Best Instant-Read Thermometers for Precision Cooking

oxo hand held themometer measuring temp of steak

OXO

Everyone who cooks needs an instant-read thermometer, full stop. These handy little gadgets aren’t just about making sure your steak is cooked to your liking; they ensure that your steak — or whatever you’re cooking — isn’t raw and poses a threat to your wellbeing. In the past, you might’ve used a manual, dial-faced thermometer to check your food’s doneness. Helpful as they were, they took a long time to get a reading, and you never really knew when the temperature had stabilities. Um, is this turkey really at 170 degrees? Instant-read thermometers do all of that in an instant, hence the name. (Though an “instant” can mean a lot depending on the brand.) So instead of cooking your chicken until it’s bone-dry to make sure the salmonella is out, get one of these instant-read thermometers to get perfectly cooked food every time.

What to Look For in an Instant-Read Thermometer

Tip #1: Slow and steady does not apply

You want your instant-read thermometer to get you a reading in a literal instant. We only found one thermometer that can do that — giving a read-out in one second — but anything faster than three to five seconds is ideal. Why? For one, you don’t want to expose your hand to high heats for a long time, and those couple seconds can save you from some singed arm hairs. And if you’re checking something that’s in the oven, keeping your oven door open for just a second or two can significantly drop the oven temperature.

Tip #2: It’s OK to be a little off

Every brand will tout its instant-read thermometer as being super accurate. They’ll even offer up a margin of error so you know what to expect. In reality, most instant-read thermometers, even the dirt-cheap ones, will be very good at getting a good reading. Most thermometers have a margin of error less than two degrees, plus or minus, while more expensive ones will have a margin of error in the decimal place. Those tiny margins of error will have little to no impact on your food, so there’s no need to get too obsessive over brands’ estimations for margins of error.

Tip #3: Going for a splash or a full-on dip?

Not all instant-read thermometers are waterproof, with some being splash-proof. (And when it comes to water- or splash-proof ratings, they’re going to apply strictly to the thermometer’s handle.) If you want to make sure you can fully submerge your thermometer in water, say for cleaning, make sure to look for a waterproof rating. Otherwise, a splash-proof option can take on an excessive beating from water, steam or other liquids.

Best Overall Instant-Read Thermometer

ThermoWorks Thermapen Mk4

Almost every professional chef calls the Thermapen Mk4 their go-to instant-read thermometer, and it’s ours, too. While ThermoWorks has discontinued the Mk4 for the new Thermapen One, the former is still an exceptional instant-read thermometer with temperature readings in two to three seconds, with a margin of error of 0.7 degrees. Throw in extra features like an auto-rotating screen, motion-sensing sleep and wake mode and an IP67 waterproof rating, and you have yourself a winning pick. Because the Mk4 is on closeout, the 30-percent discount makes this an even more enticing purchase.

  • Fast readings
  • Waterproof unlike other options
  • On closeout, so while it’s a good price, it could be sold out for good soon
  • Suited for right-handed people

Best Splurge Instant-Read Thermometer

ThermoWorks Thermapen One

Eventually the Mk4 will be gone for good, and the One will reign supreme. The biggest improvement from the Mk4 to the One, is the latter’s ability to get a temperature reading in an actual instant — just one second. It’s also more accurate than its predecessor — with only 0.5 degrees of potential deviation — and more brightly lit. It also retains all of the good stuff the Mk4 has like its waterproof rating, auto-rotating and auto-off functions and a comfortable-to-hold handle. While this has nothing to do with overall performance, the number of color options is also nice to find something that best suits you.

  • Super-fast readings
  • Long handle keeps your hands away from heat sources
  • Expensive, especially if you’re not cooking often

Best Budget Instant-Read Thermometer

ThermoPro TP-02S Instant-Read Thermometer

Don’t get this brand, ThermoPro, confused with ThermoWorks. ThermoPro is seen as a more budget-friendly option in the thermometers field, and its TP-02S is a worth-while pick for an instant-read thermometer. It clocks temperatures anywhere between four and seven seconds, with an accuracy within 0.9 degrees. It has an extra-long probe, and while it doesn’t fold up, the TP-02S comes with a sheath to protect you from accidental stabbings.

  • Extremely cheap with accurate readings
  • Extra-long probe to keep your hands away from heat
  • Not waterproof
  • Probe is fixed

Best Instant-Read Thermometer for Left-Handed People

Oxo Good Grips Thermocouple Thermometer

A major qualm people have with some instant-read thermometers is that, while they’re comfortable to hold, they’re designed to be comfortable for just right-handed people. Take the Thermapen Mk4 and One, for example, which is ridged on one side. On the other hand, the Oxo Good Grips Thermocouple Thermometer is flat on both sides so it’s easier to use for all people. It has an easy-to-read display that gives readings in about three seconds. It’s accurate within 0.9 degrees and has a splash-proof rating of IP66. The design of the rotating dial means you can whip out the probe without touching it, and you don’t need to fully extend it for more ergonomic uses.

Best Magnetic Instant-Read Thermometer

Lavatools Javelin Pro Duo

When it comes to cooking gadgets, it’s the little things that count. For the Lavatools Javelin Pro Duo, its standout feature is its integrated magnet, which makes for easy storage. It’s a tiny detail that’s only made better by what an overall excellent instant-read thermometer this is. It looks a lot like the Thermapen Mk4 and One, and similarly has fast read times between one to three seconds. It has a large, legible display that rotates 360 degrees, while also having an IP65 waterproof rating. One added feature of the Pro Duo is its stabilization alert, which beeps to tell you that the temperature has stabilized.

  • Magnetic backing
  • Fast readings
  • Stabilization alert ensures you’re getting the right reading
  • Not for induction stovetops, which can interfere with readings

Best Pocket-Sized Instant-Read Thermometer

ThermoWorks ThermoPop

Peeping out of many chef’s pockets is the ThermoWorks ThermoPop. The tiny little thermometer is a handy tool to have, especially thanks to its fast readings — give it three to four seconds — and accuracy within two degrees. The display takes up most of the handle, so you have to be particular about how you hold it, otherwise you’ll cover the reading. However, the numbers are legible, and you can rotate the reading and turn on the backlight with the touch of a button.

  • Has a wider margin of error than other thermometers
  • Doesn’t auto-rotate and backlight isn’t automatic

Best Instant-Read Thermometer with Infrared

Taylor Precision Thermocouple Thermometer

Taylor Precision’s Thermocouple Thermometer is a two-in-one thermometer that uses a probe to clock internal temperature and infrared to clock surface temperature. The Thermocouple has one of the widest range of temperatures it can read, and its probe is also on the longer side, another bonus.

  • Wide range for readings
  • Long probe
  • No backlight

Brain Dead isn’t afraid to get weird on its latest trail-ready Asics collaboration.

In the crowded world of streetwear, Brain Dead stands out by leaning into its offbeat inspirations. Those motifs manifest here on the label’s Asics Trabuco Max collaboration. That said, this sneaker is still ready to go off-road, featuring GUIDESOLE and ASICSGRIP technology for long-distance energy conservation and all-conditions traction, respectively.

Floyd and Sonos might just make your speaker stand your new favorite piece of furniture.

Elevating the speaker stand in more ways than one, Floyd has taken (what is historically) a purely utilitarian piece of furniture and made it as sleek as… well, a set of Sonos speakers. Designed in collaboration with Sonos, Floyd’s two new speaker stands are compatible with the Sonos One and Five and are designed to not just reduce vibrations and provide a better audio experience, but look understated (in a mid-century modern-sort of way).

Cult-favorite Swiss label Nivada releases the manual Chronoking watch.

Nivada might not be the first Swiss watch brand you’ll think of — it’s a historic company that disappeared in the Quartz Crisis — but that’s not to say it’s not worth your attention. Its SW510 manual movement Chronoking features Super Luminova hour markers and a unique date window at the 12 o’clock slot. With several strap options ranging from leather to steel, it’s a watch well worth your time.

Sherry meets tequila: Patrón announces all-new sherry cask-aged añejo tequila.

We’ve definitely enjoyed a glass or two of Patrón’s tequilas, but sherry cask-aged añejo? That’s a new one. Aged in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks for over two years, the amber tequila picks up notes of dates and pear on the nose, with pecans, toasted oak and buttery caramel on the palate. Needless to say, this is one tequila that’s ready for cocktails well beyond the confines of the classic margarita.

The Mattel Creations MEGA X Cybertruck Is A Buildable 3,283-Piece 1:12 Scale Model Kit

Tesla has kept us in waiting and in the dark since their badass electric pickup was announced in 2019. Still, sources claim preorders have surged past 1.25 million units to date. While deliveries are likely to encounter delays, you can build one at home, albeit at a smaller scale. We have Mattel Creations to thank for the MEGA X Cybertruck.

We can still fondly recall the awesome and hilarious debut of the Cybertruck. The look on Elon Musk’s face when the windows cracked was priceless, but the prospect of driving this eco-friendly pickup truck around still fuels our excitement. Until that happens, let’s keep our hands busy with this detailed kit.

As much as we prefer LEGO when it comes to plastic bricks, Mattel’s MEGA X Cybertruck seems promising. There is no better way to pledge your support for Tesla’s upcoming all-electric workhorse than this. At 3,283 pieces in the box, count us in!

If you’re looking for a weekend project to share with someone, this might be a good option as well. I’m sure most of us here would rather tackle this solo, but an extra pair of hands can get the job done quicker as they say.

As an officially licensed product, you have a buildable model kit that reveals more about the machine. Think of it as a hands-on preview of sorts to learn more about its sophisticated functionalities. The articulation is top-notch with its folding tailgate, adjustable suspension, detachable tonneau cover, and more.

They’re even poking fun at the armor glass fail incident by including cracked windows. The interior even shows the GPS system and Tesla water bottle. Mattel Creations needs to include the Cyberquad as a bonus for each MEGA X Cybertruck set.

Corridor’s New Sneaker Is Perfect for Fall

corridor

Corridor

I’ll admit it, I’m not out running trails like those on Gear Patrol’s Outdoors team. Allbirds’ new running shoe made from sugar, wool and tree parts? I’ll leave testing whether or not they work on mile-long trail runs up to them. Crossing town in Corridor’s all-new City Hiker is more my speed.

If you’re like me, straightforward footwear — aka shoes not quite equipped for off-roading — works fine most days. Maybe I’m worried about rain or snow and I’ll step into something water-resistant, but rarely do I ever need to lace all-terrain vehicles to my 10 toes. Like owning an SUV with several different modes, each with functionalities I’ll never fully exert, it’s nice to wear shoes with added elements that make them compatible with mud, sludge, sleet or sawdust even if I don’t intend on going anywhere I’d run into these kinds of conditions.

The City Hiker checks all of these boxes: They’re built in Portugal with a rugged Vibram outsole and a leather body and finished with mesh and suede overlays, gunmetal D-grommets and round, yellow and brown laces. They’re as much an outdoors shoe as they are something you’d wear to the office. The design fits right in alongside down jackets, fleeces, flannels, shell jackets and sneakers with traction-focused tread patterns. The functional gear and fashion convergence continues, and Corridor’s City Hiker is right smack dab in the middle of it. Pencil me down for a pair (or two — maybe one in each color).

New Balance Numbers Guide

At this point, everyone knows that all the brands and pieces of kit your Dad loved to sport unironically have come full circle and are actually cool–whether you’re talking outerwear, old school jeans, or, most…

Boots You Can Safely Brave the Snow In

style

Courtesy

Winter is coming and though we spent the last one pent up inside our homes, reasons to get back outside abound — even in subzero temperatures. That being said, your usual canvas sneakers just won’t cut it when they hit the slick, snowed-over pavement. You need to get yourself a proper pair of winter boots. However mild or intense your winters are, here’s what to look for in a good pair of winter boots and which ones we recommend.

Waterproofness

More seams means more ways for water to sneak into your shoes. Look for shoes that have sealed seams or are made with waterproof materials like rubber and Gore-tex. Many winter shoes will feature a rubber shell spanning from the toe to the heel which are instrumental in several inches of snow or puddles. The taller the the rubber portion and heel, the better. Above that, the tongue has to be gusseted to keep debris, rain and snow from entering. Good winter shoes will have gusseted tongues that reach high up the boot

Warmth

Winter shoes have to keep your tootsies warm. They can do this a number of ways. Many brands choose some kind of insulating lining like Thinsulate and Primaloft in varying amounts to achieve temperature ratings well below freezing. Synthetic sherpa and natural shearling are also common materials to keep your feet warm. Synthetic sherpa tends to be lighter and less expensive, but it also has a tendency to become odorous after a while compared to natural shearling.

Traction

As temperatures near freezing, the ground is less and less reliable for keeping you upright. Rain turns to snow and ice, all of which are at in cahoots with gravity and against you. Traction is vital. Winter shoes often have more prominent lugs on the soles to better dig into and grab ahold of icy ground. Some companies even use sole materials which are engineered to remain soft and grippy even in subzero temps.

Snow Boots for Men

Our Pick

Caribou Street

Sorel took its popular Caribou Boot — known for being waterproof, tall and warm — and it more “Street,” which really just means they won’t be so jarring in a city setting. These are a sleek gray color with a contrasting outsole and seam-sealed rubber mudguard.

An Upgrade

Mountain Light

Now in its third decade of hiking category dominance, Danner’s Mountain Light makes light work of every other boot like it. It has a waterproof Gore-Tex liner, one-piece retro leather upper to keep water out and a Vibram outsole for traction support.

An Affordable Alternative

Tsumoru

The North Face

The North Face doesn’t just make fleeces, jackets and bags. They make boots, too, as evident by this fleece-lined Tsumoru number. It has a high rubber mudguard, a treated mesh upper and a HydroSeal waterproof membrane. Needless to say, your feet won’t get wet in these.

Hubert Wool-Lined Waterproof Boots

Want something more classic? Perhaps with a lush wool liner? Look no further than Overland’s Hubert Boot. It’s tall, built from waterproof leather and has a breathable wool liner embedded inside.

K-6 Boot

Eddie Bauer

Despite the name, these are indeed men’s boots — not ones for kids in grades K through 6. They’re a classic hiker like Danner’s, and they have plenty of history, too, but at a more affordable price: $190 instead of $380. It’s made from waterproof full-grain leather, features a waterproof membrane and can be resoled.

Phillipe Boot

Ross & Snow

Envision it: designer Italian boot meets Duck Boot. That’s exactly what Ross & Snow’s Phillipe boot is. It’s entirely waterproof, has a rubber mudguard and a shearling liner.

Emmett Snow Boot

Although UGG has become synonymous with its slouchy suede slippers, the brand makes plenty of other boots — like the Emmett Snow Boot. It’ll surely keep you dry, with solid traction to boot.

Walden Gore-Tex Boot

Looking for something low-key for a place where the snow barely sticks? Go with Camper’s Walden Boot, a waterproof Gore-Tex chukka with a removable insole.

Thane Waterproof Boot

Kodiak’s Thane Boots like a combat-ready, but they’re best used in snowy settings. An upper made from leather and canvas keeps water out while keeping your feet warm.

Nationplus Boot

Kamik’s Nationplus Boot is an affordable boot you can (and should) beat to death. Wade into a foot of snow wearing them; skip through slush puddles. Nothing will be problem for them. They’re tall, waterproof and mostly rubber up until the ankle.

Thermal 10800

Blundstone

Blundstone’s long lineage of bush boots goes…arctic? The Thermal 10800s offer warmth and protection from wet conditions, courtesy of a fully waterproof liner and tightly woven insulation.

Shearling-Lined Bean Boot

While Duck Boots might be considered a style best saved for muddy hunting trips, they’re a hell of an option for snowy conditions, too, especially when you get a shearling-lined pair like these.

Expedition Suede Boots

Lands’ End

Sometimes it’s nice to slip into a pair of boots so big you’ll be 100-percent confident you’ll come out of them both warm and dry. Lands’ End’s Expedition Boots — despite being suede — promise this. The entire bottom is rubber, the suede upper is durable and there’s a removable felt liner.

Original Short Snow Boot

Part space suit accessory, part safety blanket, Hunter’s Snow Boot is short but doesn’t skimp on protection from the elements. Its fleece-lined, waterproof and it comes with a heel spur for easy removal.
