Could Volvo’s New SUV Spark an EV Range Revolution?

Global potential

For the time being, Volvo’s XC70 release is exclusive to China. However, the brand has stated that it will be bringing the model to Europe in the future.

Hopefully, this means that some of this tech will make its way to the United States soon. Assuming it does, drivers could finally get to experience the EV range revolution.

Currently available for pre-order, pricing is set at ¥299,000 (roughly $42,000). If you’d like to learn more, you can head to the Volvo China website.

Barbour’s Most Beloved Jacket Gets a Vintage Military Upgrade

Kaptain Sunshine, an elevated Japanese clothing brand, redesigned Barbour’s most famous jacket with inspiration from a 1950s US military parka.

Messing with a jacket as universally acclaimed as the Bedale is dangerous, but this collaboration stuck the landing.

Black oversized parka jacket with multiple front pockets and snap button closures, worn over a light blue collared shirt. The jacket has a high collar and shoulder epaulets. The model has long blonde hair and is standing with hands in pockets.
The Oversized Bedale Casual Field Coat more closely resembles an M-51 parka.
Barbour

The Bedale Casual Field Coat stretches the old English barn jacket to the dimensions of a vintage US Army fishtail parka, and layers on details like double chest pockets, a waist cinch and snap side vents.

The standout addition is the detachable felted wool hood. It is a uniform navy blue on one model, but a bold contrasting color on the other two.

This retro-reimagined Bedale comes in the olive drab and dark navy typical of Barbour’s core jackets, along with a light khaki color. The green is accented with a bold yellow, and the khaki with a burnt orange.

The New Adidas Samba Costs Way Less Than Its Luxe Look Suggests

Don’t be fooled by the tonal upper and embossed branding. This is still the affordable Samba you remember.

Adidas

The Samba is one of those shoes that won’t go away. But who said anything about standing still?

Its name goes back to the 1940s, when Adidas founder Adi Dassler attached it to a winter soccer shoe designed for cold, hard pitches.

Since then, the Samba has reinvented itself countless times, including a series high-end makeovers in recent years that have seen it go from affordable classic to bona fide dress shoe.

The newest colorway is caught between both worlds in the best possible way, meaning it looks way more luxe than the price tag would suggest.

The new Adidas Samba takes on a textured tonal upper and embossed branding.
Adidas

Cardboard cutout

Already available overseas, the new Adidas Samba takes on a suede upper to replace the smooth leather of the original.

Light brown suede Adidas sneaker with matching laces, gold Adidas logo on the tongue, and a padded collar. The shoe has a classic design with visible stitching and a shadow cast to the left.
Gold foil on the tongue is the only pop of color.
Adidas

It’s a textured touch that imbues the shoe with a touch of quiet luxury, especially when you factor in the matching stripes.

Adidas calls this light brown “Cardboard” but that’s selling it short.
Adidas

Even the rubber outsole matches.
Adidas

But what really sets this Samba apart is the so-called “Cardboard” colorway that sits closer to a classic desert boot than anything resembling a former soccer cleat.

What’s more, the name “Samba” is embossed on the side of the shoe, rather than stamped, with its gold-foil branding reserved for the tongue.

Embossed lettering on the side replaces the usual stamped “Samba” tag.
Adidas

Availability and pricing

For its final trick, the new variant — which is now live on the Adidas Japan website — costs the same as the standard Samba OG.

That suggests a retail price of just $100 when it eventually lands in the US. Look for it to drop in the coming weeks.

Dime x Vans Skate Era Stub

Dime teamed up with Vans to refurbish the Era, the first-ever purpose-built skate shoe, released by Vans in 1976. It is essentially a beefed-up version of the Authentic, with a padded collar and extra eyelets. The Montreal-based skateboarding company utilizes the top skating tech available in Van’s inventory. The new Era Stub is equipped with a SickStick rubber outsole for enhanced grip, a PopCush insole for impact cushioning and DuraCap reinforcement on high-friction areas of the foxing. The upper blends canvas and suede panels, and Dime’s logo is embossed in the heel counter. It also comes in a yellow version with bolt-shaped eyelets, modeled after Timberland boots. The Era Stub will be available on August 30 from Dime and select Vans retailers.

Remanufactured 1959 Austin Mini

Austin Cars Ltd. is building a pair of 1959 Mini replicas to race at the 2025 Goodwood Revival for the St Mary’s Trophy. Ownes Fabrications will be building the bodies and the roll cages, while Switftune will be building the race-performing A-series engines. As highly detailed recreations, they’ll wear original Austin grilles and badges and ride higher, allowing for more body roll in the corners as in the 1950s.

DJI Mic 3

The DJI Mic 3 is the brand’s latest and most advanced wireless microphone system, designed specifically for content creators. Like its predecessor, the 2024-released Mic 2, the Mic 3 ships with two transmitters, one receiver and a charging case to hold them. However, the Mic 3 system is roughly half the size and weight of the Mic 2, and DJI upgraded it with superior performance, more internal storage and new features, such as adaptive gain controls and voice tone presets. As of August 2025, price and availability info have yet to be revealed.

Brooks

Brooks Cascadia Elite

Brooks enters the race to build the ultimate super shoe for the trails with the Cascadia Elite. The shoe weighs just 9.5 ounces for a men’s size nine and boasts a carbon plate between two layers of PEBA foam, Matryx upper and Vibram Megagrip Elite outsole. Worn by the 2025 Western States runner-up Chris Myers, the Cascadia Elite comes out in March of 2026.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)Bose

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)

Bose announced the second-generation versions of its flagship noise-cancelling wireless earbuds earlier this summer, but they’re finally available. As far as looks and features, they don’t stray too far away from the 2023-released originals. However, Bose upgraded in several key ways. They promise even better adaptive noise-cancellation thanks to new and improved AI, as well as superior call clarity. The case now supports wireless charging. They also have new ear tips that feature a built-in wax guard to prevent buildup and audio degradation. Available in three colors: Black, White Smoke and Deep Plum.

Bianchet

Bianchet UltraFino Sapphire

Ultra high-end watchmaker Bianchet exclusively produces tourbillon timepieces, and the brand may have launched its most impressive yet with the UltraFino Sapphire, the world’s thinnest tourbillon watch with a sapphire case. The in-house UT01 tourbillon movement is crafted mainly from titanium and boasts a solid gold rotor — that’s right, it’s an automatic — and measures just 3.85mm tall. This allows the watch to come in with an overall thickness of just 9.85mm. Despite its thinness and the sapphire case, this is still a sports watch at heart, with an impressive 5,000 Gs of shock resistance and 50m water resistance rating. It’s priced at CHF 85,500, which converts to around $106,600 before tariffs.

Red Wing’s Flagship Boot (and My Favorite) Looks Better Than Ever in this Deceptively Soft Leather

Just when I thought that my favorite boot had reached perfection, Red Wing Heritage said, “Hold my beer.” And dropped the best Classic Moc I’ve ever seen.

It is made with a proprietary buttery soft roughout leather in a rich chocolate brown, with a name that may lead to a big misconception.

Pair of brown suede moc toe boots with yellow laces, white stitching along the toe, and cream-colored wedge soles.
The Classic Moc in Chocolate Muleskinner Leather.
Red Wing

Over the past year, I’ve gotten more mileage out of my Classic Mocs in Hawthorne Abilene Leather than any other boot in my closet. The sandy roughout leather matches everything and cleans up with a light brushing.

I thought it was the pinnacle of Red Wing’s design, and it knocked my ten-year-old Briar Rough Necks out of commission.

But that was before the Minnesota shoemaker released its flagship boot in the new Chocolate Muleskinner Leather, a luscious dark brown with a soft texture that resembles suede, but is a heck of a lot tougher.

Brown suede ankle boot with yellow laces, white stitching, and a thick off-white rubber sole. The boot has metal eyelets and a black trim around the top edge.
Red Wing Heritage uses leather from the brand-owned S.B. Foot Tanning Company in Minnesota.

Breitling’s Iconic ’80s Steel Sports Watch Gets Revamped with 32 New Dial Colors

The Chronomat GMT 40 has a 24-hour track on the chapter ring.
Breitling

While Breitling simplified the bezel, it improved the dial by adding a beveled edge to the hour and minute hands, along with a lumed arrow point and a script “B” counterbalance to the seconds hand.

Non-fans welcome

With 32 options, the Chronomat GMT 40 NFL Teams Edition has something for everyone. As stated above, you don’t have to like football to be drawn to this collection.

Stainless steel Breitling Chronomat GMT watch with a bright blue dial, silver hour markers, and hands. The watch features a date window at 6 o'clock, a 24-hour GMT hand with an arrow tip, and a polished bezel with engraved numerals. The bracelet is a matching stainless steel link design.
Teams like the Carolina Panthers, pictured above, offer vibrant dial colors.
Breitling

Teams like the Steelers, Falcons, Saints and Raiders offer black dials with yellow, red, gold and silver GMT hands, respectively, that stick to the watch’s historically industrial theme. The Dolphins, Panthers, Chiefs and Bengals offer vibrant dials that are refreshing departures from Chronomats of the past.

A Forgotten Groundbreaking Solar Watch Is Back After 50 Years and Still Feels Futuristic

The 1970s were a wild time in watch design.

The introduction of quartz technology by Seiko at the very end of 1969 (literally on Christmas Day) led to the wide and rapid adoption of cheaper, more precise quartz movements across the industry during the next decade.

An even more monumental event also occurred in 1969: The Apollo 11 moon landing, where for the first time in history, humans walked on the surface of the moon. This event contributed to increased excitement about the future and space travel, furthering the proliferation of the Space Age design movement that had begun in the 1960s.

With fancy new technology at their disposal and futuristic styles more en vogue than ever, watch brands ran wild trying to outdo each other with angular, sculptural metallic creations featuring glowing digital screens that looked more appropriate to wear with a space suit than a business suit.

The original Neprosolar concept from 1976.
Nepro

Some of these designs have endured, like the Bulova Computron, the Hamilton Pulsar — the world’s first electronic digital watch — and the achingly cool Girard-Perregaux Casquette. But many more have been forgotten, such as the Neprosolar, a little-known concept from 1976 that was one of the world’s very first solar-powered watches.

Now, the reborn Nepro brand has brought back the Neprosolar with all of the retrofuturistic flair of the original from half a century ago.

Yeti Quietly Brought Back a Discontinued Color and Some Fans Say It’s the Best Ever

King Crab joins black, blue, gray and white as part of the brand’s core lineup, but not without a caveat.

Yeti may take pride in designing simple products. But the catalog as a whole is anything but.

Gone are the days when customers only had to choose between a white, tan or charcoal cooler. The brand now sells an endless array gear in myriad shades of blue, green and even camo.

If you ask many diehard fans, however, the best of the bunch was one called “King Crab Orange” — a bold released inspired by its namesake crustaceans and the men and women who catch them.

A person wearing an orange raincoat, green gloves, and a hooded cap is handling a large metal crab trap filled with numerous crabs on the deck of a boat. There is a bright orange YETI cooler in the background, and the boat's railing and blue water are visible. The deck appears wet.
“King Crab Orange” debuted in 2021 and quickly won over Yeti Nation.
Yeti

Like other seasonal launches, including “Firefly Yellow” and “Ultramarine Violet,” the vibrant colorway was never meant to last forever.

“King Crab Orange” came out in 2021, with stock slowly dwindling until the brand ran a promotional deal in 2024 to clear all remaining inventory.

It turns out that may have just been a blip.

“King Crab Orange” is back, and it looks like it might be here to stay.

“King Crab Orange” is back as one of Yeti’s evergreen, always-in-stock colorways.

Orange to the core

The familiar hue has quietly resurfaced on Yeti’s official website, now listed on select product pages as a so-called “Core Color” — the designation Yeti uses for year-round staples like white, tan and “Rescue Red.”

In the US, only the LoadOut GoBox (pictured) and five-gallon bucket list “King Crab Orange” as a core colorway.
Yeti

That said, the comeback is indeed accompanied by a caveat …

In the US, the items are currently limited to the five-gallon LoadOut Bucket, as well as the small, medium and large GoBox.

Yeti

However, the European website extends “King Crab Orange” to Yeti’s sprawling collection of Rambler drinkware and even the classic Tundra cooler. What’s more, the overseas division even posted about its return on Instagram.

Limited availability

Whether or not Yeti will relaunch “King Crab Orange” across its entire US portfolio remains to be seen, and there’s certainly precedent for the unlikely outcome it doesn’t make the trip over.

Currently, orange Ramblers are only available on Yeti’s European website.

Charcoal-colored Rambler bottles, for example, are currently a European exclusive, having been removed from the US website sometime in the past year.

Either way, the reissue of “King Crab Orange” in any capacity will be welcome news to Yeti’s global fanbase, some of which consider it the greatest ever from the brand.

An informal poll posted on Reddit last year saw it beat out other crowd-favorites like “Big Wave Blue” and “Key Lime Green” across hundreds of votes.

Leatherman Micra Pumpkin Spice

Just in time for the return of a particularly hot fall beverage, Leatherman introduces a new Cerakote treatment for its beloved keychain multi-tool. The Micra boasts loads of handy little functions for everyday tasks: 1.6-inch blade, spring-action scissors, flat/Phillips screwdriver (plus two smaller flat drivers), ruler, nail cleaner, nail file, tweezers and bottle opener. The new Cerakote treatment not only imparts seasonal flair but boosts the stainless steel body’s resistance to abrasion, wear, corrosion and chemicals.

Danner

Danner N45 GTX

Danner is doubling down on its N45 series, which debuted in early 2025 as the brand’s first recraftable hiker. Now both the mid and low versions come with a Gore-Tex Invisible Fit liner, shielding your feet from mud, rain and slush. Like the original N45s, the new variants each have a supercritical foam midsole, Vibram Megagrip outsole and abrasion-resistant nylon-polyester upper.

Level

Level Lock Pro

Level’s Lock Pro is its new flagship smart lock. Like its predecessor, the 2022-released Lock Plus, the Lock Pro is designed to blend into your home and work seamlessly with Apple’s smart home ecosystem. However, the new model has been upgraded in several important ways. It features a faster process and double the battery life (largely thanks to a new motion sensor). It has new sensors for detecting whether the door is open or closed without the use of external magnet stickers. Most significantly, it adds Matter and Thread, meaning it’s compatible with all smart home ecosystems (including Apple’s).

Touring Superleggera Veloce12 Barchetta

Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera has unveiled an open-topped spin on the Ferrari 550 Maranello that it’s calling the Veloce12 Barchetta. Along with giving the thoroughbred a subtle aesthetic overhaul, the firm has tuned the 5.5-liter V12 engine to produce 478 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque. As such, when mated to a 6-speed gearbox, it can hit 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds before topping out at 190 mph.

Buck Mason Bulkhead Dungaree

Buck Mason meticulously recreated a pair of US Navy denim work pants issued in the 1940s. It is cut with a faithful wide, straight fit from 10oz 2×1 denim with a herringbone pattern sourced from Collect Mill in Japan. The high-rise waist sits around the natural waistline, and it has jean-style pockets with patches in the back and slanted vents in the front. The dungarees are only available in the Seeded Natural color of undyed cotton.

Fi Mini

Fi’s Mini is a GPS pet tracker designed for cats and small dogs. It works similarly to Fi’s current smart dog collar, the Series 3+, but it’s smaller and clips onto your pet’s existing collar. In addition to tracking your pet’s location (using Verizon’s LTE-M cell network), the Mini works as a wearable device for your pet, tracking activity, sleep, and certain behavioral features (powered by AI), such as barking, eating, drinking and scratching. Like its other trackers, the Mini uses a subscription payment plan, which costs roughly $129/year.

This Epic New Camera Masters the iPhone’s Best Photo Trick

By default, the camera shoots HDR HEIFs. While the format has native support for higher dynamic range than the standard JPEGs that many other cameras shoot it’s less widely supported.

It’s rare to see any company – let alone a premium consumer electronics brand – launch a new and improved version of a previous product at a lower price than the previous model. But that’s precisely what Hasselblad has decided to do with the new X2D II 100C.
Hasselblad

Thankfully, Hasselblad has also included the ability to shoot “Ultra HDR JPEGs,” a format that works with pretty much everything that we’ve seen pioneered in Google Pixel phones and the Sigma BF.

You can see it working right on the camera; the massive 3.6″ OLED display can reach a peak brightness of 1400 nits, letting you see how the highlights will pop in your picture right after you’ve taken it. While other cameras can shoot HDR if you set them to, it’s rare to be able to preview them so convincingly.

Good Vibes

The X2D features haptic feedback and will subtly vibrate in your hand when it’s locked onto focus, or when you’ve gotten it perfectly level.
Mitchell Clark

If you follow the camera industry closely, you may be aware that DJI, the company famous for its drones, action cameras and more, is actually now the majority stakeholder of Hasselblad. And the camera is full of little touches that seem to have the mark of a high-tech company that makes a lot of products for consumers.

One of the Most Impressive Affordable Dive Watches Just Launched Its Hottest Version Yet

Another first for Wren is the bezel. While previous iterations of the Diver One had a sapphire bezel insert, the Magma boasts a black ceramic insert, which previously was only found on the pricier Diver 38. The bezel is fully lumed with Super-LumiNova and, at least in the press images, looks well-matched to the dial when it comes to intensity.

Outside of these changes, this is the same Diver One as before, which means it gets a 41mm stainless steel case with a 13.3mm thickness and a 47mm lug-to-lug, a Sellita SW200 automatic movement and a solid caseback with a hydraulic press-stamped Wren logo. The watch also, like all Wren divers, includes both a quick-release flat link bracelet and an integrated black FKM rubber strap.

Like other Wren divers, the Magma includes a fitted FKM rubber strap in addition to the bracelet.
Wren

Pricing and availability

The Wren x Ben Diver One Magma marks the first collaboration for both Wren and Ben’s Watches, but hopefully not the last. The watch looks great, its concept is fun and cohesive, and Carger and Cook — who were already friends and colleagues — are clearly on the same wavelength.

The watch is available on Wren’s website now and is limited to 100 individually numbered pieces, with 50 ready to ship now and another 50 slated for October. It’s priced at $1,075, a highly competitive price for a diver with these specs and looks.

No One Expected This “Watch” to Make the PGA Tour Championship Podium

Enter TAG Heuer, the Swiss brand better known for the Monaco and Carrera chronographs, among other models. When it first set out to build a luxury smartwatch nearly a decade ago, the company approached the challenge in a uniquely Swiss way—through modularity.

Early versions of the Connected allowed buyers to literally swap between a digital smartwatch module and a traditional mechanical watch, the most elite option of which included a $17,000 tourbillon, blurring the line between horology and high tech.

A TAG Heuer smartwatch with a white strap displayed in an open black and white box. The watch face shows a colorful golf course map and various golf-related metrics. Next to the watch, there is a compartment holding three white golf balls with the TAG Heuer logo. The interior of the box has green accents around the watch.
Paying $1,500 for a smart watch also gets you some TAG-branded golf balls too, as well as a ball marker.
TAG Heuer

Over time, though, TAG learned what its clientele truly appreciated from the piece. Four generations later, the Connected has shed its modular experiment roots and matured into a more focused, purpose-built smartwatch that fully embraces its digital identity while still carrying the premium material and design hallmarks of a more traditional Swiss watch.

The watch’s case is made from premium ultra-light Grade 2 titanium that’s been given a matt, sandblasted DLC finish.
TAG Heuer

The Connected Calibre E4 Golf Edition—Fleetwood’s wristwear of choice— has represented the clearest expression yet of TAG’s luxury smartwatch vision for several years now.

Available in a lightweight 42mm or 45mm titanium case, it’s built with golfers squarely in mind. Beyond standard fitness tracking, it layers in dedicated tools like 3D mapping for over 40,000 courses, shot tracking, digital scorecards, and swing analysis. Paired with TAG’s companion app, it aspired to be more of a personal caddie on the wrist than a traditional timekeeper.

Google’s Wear OS software powers the smartwatch, and hardware-wise, the piece includes most of the sensors, connectivity, and capabilities you’d expect from a smartwatch, though the hardware hasn’t been updated in over a few years.

Jack Mason x Dr Pepper’s Pop-Inspired Timepiece Hits the Sweet Spot

Jack Mason and Dr Pepper have teamed once again to release a brand-new edition of the Strat-o-timer GMT, as well as a surprising new beverage collaboration: A&W® Root Beer.

Talking Points Jack Mason x Dr Pepper Strat-O-Timer watchJack Mason

Welcome to Talking Points, a series that looks at what makes certain products worth talking about, brought to you by Gear Patrol Studios.

They say the third time’s the charm, and in the case of continuing collaboration between Jack Mason and Dr Pepper®, the old adage holds true. Jack Mason and Dr Pepper® have teamed up for the third consecutive year to release a brand-new edition of the Strat-o-timer GMT, but they didn’t stop there: this year’s partnership includes another release, the Strat-o-timer GMT: A&W® Root Beer. Here’s the low-down on these pop-inspired timepieces.

Jack Mason Strat O Timer watch Rootbeer CollabJack Mason

The Backstory

The Dr Pepper® Made with Sugar GMT takes its aesthetic inspiration from the Dr Pepper® Made with Sugar flavor, delivering a totally fresh look for the 2025 collaboration. Unlike the 2024 collaboration timepiece that was brought into the brand’s core assortment, 2025’s version will be limited-edition, with only 230 units available.

Alongside the highly-limited Dr Pepper® Made with Sugar GMT, the team at Jack Mason decided to up the ante with another playful release, the Strat-o-timer GMT: A&W® Root Beer. Playing on the “Root Beer” watch nickname that has long been been applied to the GMT Master 2 colorway made famous by Rolex, the Strat-o-timer GMT: A&W® Root Beer by Jack Mason and A&W® is now the truly official “Root Beer” watch.

The Gist

A departure from the first two Dr Pepper® x Jack Mason collaborations, and intended to capture the iconic spirit of midcentury design, the lime green color scheme and Made with Sugar flavor branding were designed to feel like you’re drinking pop in the 1950’s. The sapphire bezel features a lime green color pop that is also made of a custom Super LumiNova color, allowing it to glow in the dark and add some playfulness to the watch. Each of the 10, 2, and 4 o’clock indices glows a different color than the rest, which has been a signature design feature of all the Strat-o-timer Dr Pepper® GMT’s, and hearkens back to a famous Dr Pepper® slogan, “Drink a bite to eat at 10, 2, and 4 o’clock”.

Limited and numbered to just 200 units, the Strat-o-timer GMT “Root Beer” takes the iconic A&W® orange and brown colors and matches them seamlessly with the “root beer float” dial. The brown dial has a subtle fume technique which makes the center of the dial a little lighter than the rest; this is meant to mimic the color produced when a scoop of vanilla ice cream is dropped into a frosted mug of A&W® Root Beer. At the 6 o’clock position, an official tagline of A&W®, “The Root Beer,” is printed in a quirky font, adding to the unique design of the timepiece.

Both timepieces feature a 40mm case, 316L stainless steel construction, sapphire bezel with Super LumiNova and micro-adjusting clasp.

Our POV

Based on the success of past Jack Mason and Dr Pepper® collaborations, and with the addition of the novel Strat-o-timer GMT: A&W® Root Beer, we expect these limited-edition timepieces to sell out fast. Whether you’re in the market for a true “Root Beer” watch or want a highly collectible timepiece to add to your collection, both the Dr Pepper® Made with Sugar GMT and Strat-o-timer GMT: A&W® Root Beer hit the sweet spot.

Pre-orders are open on Aug, 29 at 10am CST, and the watches are expected to ship Sept 19.

Did Patagonia Accidentally Design the Best All-Weather Adventure Pants of the Year?

If you’re familiar with Patagonia, it’s likely because it’s one of the largest outdoor gear brands in the world (no big deal). Obviously, that means the brand has some fan-favorite hits, like its recently revised Nano Puff jacket and its Retro-X Fleece.

However, those classics can sometimes overshadow the brand’s more novel gear. That’s a shame, because some of it has the potential to be among the brand’s best releases.

Such is the case with the Patagonia Hydropeak Stretch Thermal Pants. Launched without much fanfare, these could be a dark-horse pick for the best adventure bottoms of the year.

Black Patagonia pants with an elastic waistband and an adjustable buckle belt. The pants feature a zippered cargo pocket on the left thigh with the Patagonia logo printed on it. The design includes side pockets and visible seam detailing along the legs.
The pants’ simple, minimalist exterior hides some pretty cool tech.
Patagonia

Surf and safari

Interestingly, the brand has positioned these pants as pre- and post-surf bottoms. Considering their material and technological origins, that makes a lot of sense.

The exterior, for instance, is made from 100-percent recycled polyester stretchy board shorts fabric. That means it’s windproof, sheds water and dries fast. It also means it’s plenty durable.

Another week down, and, per usual, a bunch of new tech and gadgets have been announced.

This past week, Google announced its line of Pixel 10 smartphones, Ricoh revealed its GR IV compact camera and FiiO introduced its new flagship portable hi-fi player. But that’s just scratching the surface.

Below, we’ve rounded up all the most interesting new releases and announcements you might have missed from the past week.

Ricoh GR IV

After six long years, Ricoh has finally introduced a new model to its popular GR line of compact cameras. Compared to the 2019-released GR III, the GR IV is subtly thinner and shorter, yet still retains the same overall design as the original film GR from the 90s. However, it features an upgraded 26-megapixel sensor and a new lens that has been redesigned for speed. Ricoh also revamped the controls, brought back the built-in flash, and gave the GR IV a few other little improvements. Unfortunately, these upgrades come at a steep cost. The GR IV costs $1,499, which is $600 more than the $899 GR III.

Dali

Dali Kupid

Dali is a luxury hi-fi manufacturer best known for its extremely expensive loudspeakers — think upwards of $100,000. Its newest bookshelf speakers, named Kupid, are a step in a way more affordable direction. According to the brand, they represent “a new entry point to genuine hi-fi sound.” The passive bookshelf speakers are designed to work with most amplifiers and come in five different fun finishes: Black Ash, Walnut, Caramel White, Golden Yellow and Chilly Blue.

Wrensilva M1 (The Larrabee Creator Edition)

The Wrensilva Larrabee Creator Edition M1 is a special-edition version of the company’s M1 that, as its name suggests, was created to celebrate the 55-year history of Larrabee Studios. To create this special-edition M1, Wrensilva collaborated with Manny Marroquin, the 18-time Grammy-winning mix engineer. The main differences between this special-edition and stock M1s are in the details — this creator edition model features design elements and accents that pay homage to the Larrabee Studios and Marroquin. Like the stock M1, this special-edition model is a complete vinyl hi-fi system, comprised of an audiophile turntable, solid-state electronics and a custom two-way loudspeaker system. It also supports streaming and is “Works with Sonos” certified, making it a more modern wireless system as well.

Google

Google Pixel 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL

Google’s Pixel 10 features three non-foldable smartphones: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. The thing to know is the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are the same size, but the latter has a nicer display, camera and specs. While the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are largely the same, the latter features a larger screen. Compared to their last-gen predecessors, the most notable upgrade comes to the Pixel 10 — for the first time, Google has given its base smartphone a triple camera system. As for the two Pros, both have a newer Tensor G5 chip and support for Qi2 wireless charging.

Sony

Sony Inzone H9 II

The Sony Inzone H9 II is a next-generation gaming headset that boasts numerous upgrades over the 2022-released Inzone H9. Most notably, Sony has upgraded it with the same 30mm dynamic drivers as in its flagship WH-1000XM6 headphones. It also now features a detachable boom mic, so you can wear these more like as non-gaming wireless headphones. Sony also redesigned the headband and earcups to be smaller and more comfortable.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the company’s next-gen foldable smartphone and the star of its Pixel 10 lineup. The most unique thing about the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is that it holds the distinction of being the only foldable with an IP68 rating, meaning it’s completely protected from both dust and water. Compared to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the new model has a faster processor, smaller bezels and a larger front display. It’s available for preorder now, with shipping starting October 9th.

Samsung

Samsung Micro RGB TV (115″)

The Samsung Micro RGB TV is the first 115-inch TV to feature the brand’s proprietary Micro RGB technology. Essentially, it features a unique backlighting system that utilizes red, green, and blue micro LED lights (each measuring less than 100µm in size), allowing it to deliver a brighter, more color-accurate picture than other TVs. According to Samsung, it sets a “new standard” for the large-sized, ultra-premium TV market.

The watch display shows the time as 10:09, the date as Wednesday the 30th, and various health metrics including heart rate and activity progress. The person has dark skin and is adjusting the watch with their other hand, which has a silver ring on the ring finger.Google

Google Pixel Watch 4

Google’s next-generation smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 4, has numerous upgrades over last year’s Pixel Watch 3. It features a brighter, curvier “domed” display with thinner bezels — the brand claims this gives it a 10 percent larger visible screen area. It also has a longer battery life and supports faster charging. It comes in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, and is available for preorder now. Shipping starts October 9th.

Sony

Sony Inzone E9

The Sony Inzone E9 are the brand’s first in-ear monitors specifically designed for gaming. They’ve been developed and tuned by FNATIC, a professional esports brand, and support 360 Spatial Sound. They also have a fully enclosed structure, combined with noise-isolating tips, that promises to do an excellent job of blocking out outside noises. Available in white (shown) or black.

Pro-Ject

Pro-Ject Tube Box E

The Pro-Ject Tube Box E is a tube-powered phono preamplifier designed to partner an entry-level turntable. It features a fully discrete circuit design, eliminating the use of operational amplifiers, and is compatible with both moving-magnet (MM) and moving-coil (MC) cartridges. According to the brand, the Tube Box E will deliver “a full and relaxed laid-back sound with lush mids, just like you would expect from a much bigger high-end tube phono preamplifier.”

Pro-Ject

Pro-Ject Tube Box S3 B

The Pro-Ject Tube Box S3 B is a tube-powered phono preamplifier. It features a wide range of gain settings and is compatible with both moving-magnet (MM) and moving-coil (MC) cartridges, allowing it to work with most turntables. Notably, it supports balanced connections — that’s what the “B” in its name stands for — and thus can work with a balanced turntable, which are typically more audiophile-grade. Pro-Ject claims that it’s “an audiophile phono preamplifier that brings true analog warmth to your vinyl playback.”

Monitor Audio Silver 300 7G LE

Monitor Audio’s Silver 300 7G LE is a limited edition version of the brand’s 2021-released Silver 300 7G. These “LE” floorstanding speakers are exactly the same — featuring a three-way design with the brand’s proprietary ceramic-coated aluminium magnesium drivers — but come in a new Carbon Black Metallic finish. According to the brand, the new finish “exudes sophistication while delivering breathtaking clarity, depth, and power.”

Google Pixel Buds 2A

Google Pixel Buds 2A are the newest wireless earbuds in the brand’s budget-friendly A-Series. Compared to their 2021-released predecessors, the Pixel Buds 2A now feature Google’s latest Tensor A1 chip, which gives them support for both active noise-cancellation and transparency modes. And while still relatively affordable, they’re $30 more expensive than the previous models. Available in two finishes: black and purple. They start shipping in October 2025.

Wyze Duo Cam Pan

Wyze’s Duo Cam Pan is a smart home security camera that combines two 2K cameras into a single unit. The bottom one is a fixed camera with a wide field of view, while the top one is a pan-and-tilt camera that spins 360 degrees, and you can control it from your smartphone. The idea is that between the two cameras, you effectively have no blind spots, and you can see everything in the area. The Duo Cam Pan is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Insta360 Go Ultra

The Insta360 Go Ultra is the company’s latest addition to its Go series of compact action cameras. Like the others, the Go Ultra has a two-piece modular system comprised of a thumb-sized camera that pops out of a rectangular body (called the “Action Pod”) with a viewfinder; you can attach the smaller camera to a mount or item of clothing and then view what it’s capturing on the viewfinder. Compared to its predecessor, last year’s Go 3S, the Go Ultra’s smaller camera has a new design — it’s more square than pill-shaped — and thus is slightly larger. This increased size has allowed Insta360 to give it a bigger battery and a microSD card slot (instead of relying on built-in storage). More importantly, it features a larger 1/1.28-inch sensor and is capable of shooting 4K videos at 60fps (the Go 3S maxed out at 4K 30fps). It also features a new ambient light sensor, which should improve its performance in low-light situations.

FiiO

FiiO M27

The FiiO M27 is the brand’s most powerful and capable portable hi-fi player to date. It’s equipped with flagship-grade DACs (dual ESS ES9039SPRO) that promise to deliver superb high-fidelity audio, and it’s powerful enough to rival full-size desktop amplifiers. Importantly, FiiO has given the M27 top-of-the-line smartphone specs so that it’s fast and runs incredibly well. According to the brand, the M27 delivers “uncompromising sonic performance, precision engineering and next-generation features for audiophiles seeking both power and refinement in a compact form factor.”

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 FE are redesigned and more affordable versions of the Galaxy Buds 3 from last year. The “Fan Edition” wireless earbuds still have the AirPod-like stem (or “blade”) design of their predecessors, but they now work with swappable ear tips to help you get a better fit. They also boast improved call quality and a longer-lasting battery. They support active noise-cancellation, too. Available in two colors: black or gray (shown).

Samsung

Samsung Neo QLED 4K QN90F TV (115″)

Samsung’s QN90F is its new flagship line of Neo QLED 4K TVs for 2025 — they’re simply gorgeous. When it was released in March 2025, the largest size that Samsung offered was a 98-inch model, priced at $15,000. As of August 2025, Samsung has now taken it up a notch by releasing an even larger 115-inch model. According to the press release, the display “delivers stunning, AI-enhanced picture quality that’s optimized to deliver details that stay sharp and clear on the big screen.”

This Japanese Van Proves Once Again Why Kei Cars Make the Ultimate Campers

A metal rod mounted on a brown surface with three black straps holding two metal cups and a green lantern hanging from a hook. There is also a round container with some contents visible in the upper left corner.
Suzuki offers nifty interior accessories like these luggage bars for hauling gear.

Moreover, along with an exterior roof basket and some luggage bars for the side walls, buyers can also build out their J Limited to haul gear with a nifty interior cargo net.

On the tech side, Suzuki offers features like an optional 7-inch infotainment display with built-in Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, a GPS antenna and more.

Two Suzuki Every vans, one gray and one orange with a roof rack, are parked on grass in a wooded area near a lake. Three people are sitting and standing around a small wooden table with camping gear, enjoying a casual outdoor gathering. The scene is bright and sunny with lush green trees surrounding the area.
The Every J Limited isn’t destined for the United States any time soon, but it should inspire some space-conscious overlanding.
Suzuki

Japanese exclusive

At this time, Suzuki is only offering the Every J Limited in Japan, where it will be priced at roughly $12,500 for the two-wheel-drive version and $13,500 for the four-wheel-drive version. It’ll be available in four colors, including Ivy Green Metallic, Tool Orange and Denim Blue Metallic.

Although this kei van isn’t destined for the United States anytime soon, there are plenty of small overlanders to consider on the used market that can offer similarly space-conscious experiences.

Adidas Can Officially Claim the Boldest Super Shoe of the Year and It’s Not Close

For many casuals, running a single mile in under six minutes would be a PR.

For Aleksandr Sorokin, it meant a new world record. He just had to do it 60-some-odd times, without stopping for food, water or to use the restroom.

In 2023, the Lithuanian ran over 62 miles in a time of 6 hours, 5 minutes and 35 seconds, breaking his own 100-kilometer world record set the year before.

“Chasing 100”

Soon, Sorokin will attempt the feat again, with the goal of becoming the first person in history to run the distance in less than six hours.

Only he won’t be alone; he’ll be joined by four other Adidas athletes in a time trial the brand is calling Chasing 100, scheduled for August 26.

Fortunately for him, he’ll also have the might of the German sportswear giant behind him.
