Play longer, cooler, and in comfort with GameSir’s F8 Pro Snowgon mobile cooling grip

Video games is a lucrative business and may very well continue to be until the end of time. It all started at the arcades, shifted to people’s homes, and then came handheld gaming. These days, smartphone gaming is at an all-time high and GameSir is ready to enhance our experience. With the F8 Pro Snowgon, you can push it to the limit.

As manufacturers build even more powerful gaming handsets, the heat eventually becomes an issue. Even with all the advanced cooling systems such as heatsinks, vapor chambers, and fans, it’s not enough. This is where GameSir steps in with its mobile cooling grip to help out gamers.

What we like about the F8 Pro Snowgon is how it addresses other aspects of mobile gaming as well. Before we go into detail about that, let’s focus on what this accessory brings to the table. The system uses a combination of components to draw heat away from the device.

These are a 7-blade fan, an aluminum alloy cooling column, a thermoelectric cooler module, a cold plate, and a thermally conductive silicone pad. Just plug it in, toggle the switch, and watch it come to life as the RGB lighting shines from within. You can almost immediately feel how cold it gets.

What comes next is ergonomics as the comfortable grips stretch out and clamp down securely on your smartphone. Then there’s the detachable joystick for games that demand precisions. Finally, the built-in kickstand is there when you need it. Please note that you must plug in the F8 Pro Snowgon to a power source via USB-C for it to work.

Never Miss A Sip With Viski Harrison’s Cigar Holder Flask

Spirits and tobacco always go together…they give an air of bravado or machismo. If you’re the type who can’t part with them on the daily, then Viski Harrison’s Cigar Holder Flask is for you.

Tobacco and wine aficionados will find this dandy to have for any gentleman’s moment. This hip flask comes in two sides, one to hold 2 ounces of your favorite drink. On the other side is a space to slip a 54-gauge cigar. You can go for rum and a Cuban cigar for a Caribbean vibe. Or you can go Italian with a pairing of Amaro Fernet Branca and Toscano.

Viski Harrison’s Cigar Holder Flask ensures the drink does not spill with its double covering. The flask has its own twist cap with ridges for easy grip when opening. It also shares a cylindrical covering with the storage for the cigar. The cigar also does not slide out even when you pour a drink. You have to manually pull it out to enjoy a smoke.

This item comes in a polished and gunmetal black finish and both are made with stainless steel for durability and easy maintenance. Stainless steel, commonly used in thermos and travel mugs, is non-toxic since it does not leak chemicals even when exposed to either heat or cold. Thus, it’s ideal to use with any drinkable liquid. It is best use for undiluted drinks though such as your favorite spirits.

Viski Harrison’s Cigar Holder Flask is compact, sleek, and elegant. It’s the perfect companion to any social affair especially the suit-and-tie kind.

Certina’s New Watches Are Among the Best Bargains in the Watch World

When the precursor to the Swatch Group was being organized in the late 1980s, the conglomerate made the decision to withhold certain brands from the U.S. market in order to concentrate on their heavy hitters in North America, such as Omega and Longines. Certina was among the brands that was reserved for the local European markets (and did quite well there). Finally, after that lengthy hiatus, the brand is returning to the U.S. via the Hodinkee Shop — and this is particularly good news for fans of affordable watchmaking.

Certina’s wares, such as their DS series of divers, GMTs and even an automatic chronograph, make robust, serious tool watches available to the masses, many around the $1,000 mark. This move truly changes the landscape of affordable watches available from large Swiss brands for the American buyer.

certina ds inline

Hodinkee

Previously only available in Europe, the Certina DS PH200M, for example, is a handsome, vintage-inspired diver with 200m of water resistance, a sapphire crystal, gilt accents, and the buyer’s choice of blue or black dial and different strap variations. Recalling an original model from 1968, it gives the watch world access to vintage Omega Seamaster 300 vibes for under $1,000 — a compelling value proposition considering its inclusion of the ETA Powermatic 80.611 automatic movement with 80 hours of power reserve.

certina ds gmt

Hodinkee

Also notable is a GMT with a feature one typically only finds from the likes of brands such as Rolex: a local jumping hour, meaning you can easily update the local hour when you travel. The DS Action GMT is powered by the Swatch Group’s Powermatic 80 caliber with second time zone, which includes the function, making the Action GMT one of just a handful of affordable watches that can compete with something like the GMT Master II. (Amazing, it’s a sub-$1,000 watch, as well.)

These two models are more are all available from the Hodinkee Shop. Check them out, and read up on more detailed Certina history here.

The Makers of This Brilliant New Bike Hitch Rack Thought of Everything

Küat Piston Pro X
Materials: Aluminum and steel
Lighting: LED
Capacity: 2 bikes
Price: $1,389

SHOP NOW

There are a few common, inconvenient truths about bike racks: Getting a bike on is awkward. It typically takes both hands to open a rack for loading. Most bike racks are incongruous with a high-end bike or nice car. And hitch racks block a car’s license plate and tail lights.

Granted, those things haven’t stopped me from using a hitch rack. A hitch-mounted tray rack that doesn’t touch the bike’s frame is the best way to carry a high-end bike because you don’t have to lift it onto the roof, and there’s no danger of frame damage unless you get rear-ended.

But with the $1,389 Piston Pro X, Küat takes everything that’s great about a hitch rack and makes it better. With solid construction and a bevy of smart features, the rack also addresses the category’s most annoying hangups, making it simple to use — and maybe even fun.

To open the rack, I squeezed a lever, which released the spring-loaded, pneumatic arms, which feature pistons resembling the exposed part of a high-end mountain bike fork. Each side of each bike mount has a lever release that pops the rack arm open 180 degrees so that it’s level with the ground. I set my bike on the non-directional tray — the front wheel can face either way — and, holding my bike with one hand, I ratcheted in each rack arm until it was tight on the wheel.

A huge advantage over non-directional racks is that it’s easy to offset bikes so that their handlebars and saddles don’t clash. The Piston Pro X fits 20- to 29-inch tires up to 5 inches wide, and bikes with up to a 53-inch wheelbase. Each tray can hold 67 pounds, meaning e-bikes are welcome. Küat will also offer add-on trays so that you can carry up to four bikes, as well as an e-bike ramp to help load heavy bikes.

While the main material is aluminum, Küat also employs high-quality IGUS bushings on key pivots, custom-formulated Tiger Powder coating and stainless steel hardware. There’s also an automotive-grade 750-hour salt spray on steel components, so this rack shouldn’t rust even if you drive it all winter on salty roads.

One of the Piston Pro X’s most notable features is its handy integrated LED taillights. Küat designed the rack so that the lights are visible when the rack is empty and folded up against the tailgate, as well as when it’s loaded. To use this feature, your car needs a wiring harness, which can be installed by your mechanic. Pair the car wiring harness with the rack wiring harness, which attaches magnetically to the rack. When you take the rack off your car, the rack wiring clicks off effortlessly.

Instead of theft deterrents — how I’d characterize most rack-integrated bike locks — the Piston Pro X has a semi-integrated, rubber-coated, 12-millimeter thick cable lock that lives in your trunk until you need it. It clicks into a lockable fitting in the rack after wrapping around multiple bikes.

One more thing I love? The stability and security with which this rack attaches to transporting vehicles. Küat’s camming hitch tightens with a knob, then locks in place with a hex key that’s integrated into the locking rack handle, so there’s no wobbling or swinging even on class 4 roads.

Sometimes a brand introduces a product with a platinum price tag and a bronze build. The price of this rack matches the quality, performance and features. As soon as I can get my hands on more mounts to expand this rack to carry four bikes, I will.

Since the dawn of the pandemic, more and more people have been getting outdoors. And that’s awesome, but also leaves the industry wondering: will they stay outdoors once we get this damn thing under control?

Crested Butte, Colorado-based mountain biker Craig Payne was driven to design a quicker-releasing clipless pedal after a brush with death in 2015. His solution? Neodymium magnets, which allow your feet to find their natural position while staying connected with the pedal — and detach as soon as your foot angles out of the magnetic plane (intentionally or unintentionally). The system works with standard two-bolt SPD shoes and will be available for $219 next spring.

One of the Most Iconic 1990s Sports Cars Is Coming Back

This week is Monterey Car Week. And we got a surprise announcement from Acura. The Integra — the brand’s iconic front-wheel-drive sports coupe — will return next year. It was last sold as the Acura RSX in America and went out of production in 2006. The sporty Type R version — regarded by many as one of the best handling front-wheel-drive ever — made our 50 most influential cars list and fetches bonkers prices on Bring a Trailer.

What do we know about the new Integra? Acura did not tell us a whole lot. The brand says it will be a premium compact, arrive in Spring 2022 and possess “the same fun to drive spirit and DNA of the original.” The silhouette — unveiled to media members via skywriting drone — looks far more like a fun-to-drive sports coupe and nothing like a crossover. Judging from the preview shot, the new Integra will have a more modern and meaner mug than the mid-2000s Acura RSX did.

This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

Acura has been rebranding itself as a performance brand while launching the new TLX sedan and MDX three-row crossover. So having a legitimate sports car in the lineup to underpin that rhetoric would make sense. The pricey Acura NSX has been a hit with reviewers but has been a car almost literally no one buys. Acura re-rolling in 2022 with a cheaper, more accessible and simpler sports car may pay more dividends.

Since Acura left the meagerest of crumbs for us to work with, we have ample room to speculate on the fifth-generation Integra details. Here’s hoping for an Acura-branded take on the Civic Type R with the same engine and available 6-speed manual transmission but an elevated style and more creature comforts.

Moliving introduces a modular cabin system for land owners and hoteliers

Have you ever traveled to places with picturesque views, wonderful people, and delicious cuisine, but do not have hotels or inns available? Most likely, these are in remote areas and on private land. Moliving probably feels the same way which is why it presents a clever solution. By prefabricating the structures, they can deliver these units anywhere.

Depending on the existing infrastructure, Moliving can configure these modular hotels for off-grid use. An array of solar panels and holding tanks will provide each unit with all the necessary comforts. Meanwhile, the company says it will build these with sustainability, durability, modularity and luxury in mind.”

Each cabin offers approximately 400 square feet of indoor space with furnishings according to the owners’ specifications. As you can see, the manufacturer promotes these units as adaptable to the locale. This is a great approach to ensure that these do not stick out oddly from whatever the backdrop is.

Renders from Moliving gives us a glimpse of what the modular hotel would look like from the outside as well as within. The moment they enter, guests are greeted by a living area with the toilet and bath directly beside the portal. A bed sits on an elevated section of the room with the foot facing the windows.

Step out onto the deck, take a seat, and just take in the sights around you. Moliving notes that its modular hotels will use eco-friendly materials. Furthermore, they are actively looking for landowners to partner with and generate more jobs. Hoteliers may want to check this out.

Former SpaceX rocket engineers team up to build the all-electric Arc Boats One

As much as we want to hold on to the past, we have to let go and make way for innovation. The electrification of the automotive industry shows us that even the most adamant among the world’s prestigious marques are ready to shift. As such, the One form Arc Boats shows us that emission-free vessels are possible.

With our current technology, there are still some limitations when it comes to weight and size. Nevertheless, it’s not stopping manufacturers from building all-electric personal watercraft. Arc Boats is here to fill that gap until we develop more efficient batteries and motors.

With a powerhouse team of former SpaceX rocket engineers behind its development, you can expect top-notch performance and craftsmanship. The One is a modern and sleek speedboat that measures 24 ft long with a beam 102 inches wide.

With their experience in aerospace manufacturing, Arc Boast is using marine-grade aluminum to reinforce the hull. This material is an excellent choice thanks to its lightweight yet robust properties. Although the company did not specify, its likely high-tech composites are also in use.

Don’t leave your buddies behind as the vessel can accommodate up to 10 people. The waterproof 200 kWh battery unit are built in-house to optimize the center of gravity. Next is the 475-hp electric powertrain that delivers a top-cruising speed of 35 knots in favorable open-water conditions.

Depending on how hard you push it, the Arc Boats One should have enough juice to last 3-5 hours. It might just be the first commercial electric speedboat in the market. Arc Boats says the first units will be ready to ship out to clients early in 2022.

Retro Games Ltd revisits the Commodore Amiga 500 with the THEA500 Mini console

We’re already at the point of just giving up until there is enough inventory hopefully by next year. Even without dropping any names, gamers know we’re talking about the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Although you can occasionally spot restocks Microsoft’s new console, Sony’s game system is as elusive as ever. Thus, we might as well grab the THEA500 Mini.

The demand for modern remakes of vintage consoles is not dying out anytime soon. More so, with people stuck at home due to the pandemic, gaming is the best form of escapism right now. If like us, you already have a growing collection, then Retro Games Ltd introduces another one to add.

This time, they’re paying tribute to another iconic machine – the Commodore Amiga 500 – and it’s remarkable. Primarily marketed as a home computer, it didn’t take long for people to turn it into a gaming PC instead. The THEA500 Mini captures the look of the original but packs modern hardware and features.

It ships with 25 pre-installed games such as Worms: The Director’s Cut, Another World, Battle Chess, Pinball Dreams, and more. Retro Games is not locking you out of the software either. Users can download additional titles supported by the A500, A600, and A1200 platforms.

You can hook it up to your TV or gaming monitors via HDMI. Visual tweaks such as scaling, filters, and variable refresh rates are likewise available. Moreover, Save states will let you quickly jump back into the action after a break. The THEA500 Mini includes a two-button mouse and a USB gamepad. As for the keyboard, it’s purely an aesthetic element but you can always plug in one.

Five Ways to Take Better Care of Your Car

sunoco man driving car

Avigator FortunerShutterstock

You’ve done months of searching. You’ve compared prices, found the perfect color and selected the trim level that offers everything you’re looking for. When you do all of the work required to invest in the perfect car, you want it to last as long as possible. The best way to do that is to take care of your car holistically, but without the right products and treatment, you’ll run into issues long before the car’s life span is up. Spoiler alert: even the type of fuel you put in your car can play a factor in its longevity. The tips and tricks below will help you take better care of your investment, and will allow you to spend many, many miles exploring the open road together.

SHOP NOW

#1 High-Quality Fuel

What’s in your tank matters, so make sure you choose high-quality fuel at the pump next time you’re running on E. While lower-quality fuels save you money, they can lead to deposit build-up on your fuel injectors and on intake valves. In many cases, this causes serious problems that can shorten the lifespan of your ride. For a top-tier fuel, check out Sunoco’s UltraTech. UltraTech contains the same detergent level as the fuel Sunoco makes for the professionals racing in NASCAR. UltraTech will help your car run cleaner, longer and more efficiently. Sunoco’s UltraTech is TOP TIER certified, which means that it meets the strict standards of the TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline Program and is recommended by manufacturers like Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi.

#2 Wax Your Car

If you can’t remember the last time your car was waxed, then it’s safe to say it’s been too long. Waxing helps maintain your paint and acts as a seal against all kinds of weather and sun damage. A lack of waxing can lead to fading, discoloration and eventually rust — which not only affects the exterior of the car but can lead to bigger structural integrity issues if ignored for long enough. (Let’s not let it get to that point, OK?) Wax will also help your car’s paint job to shine and give it that “just detailed” look.

#3 Condition the Seats

If your car has leather seats, you should look after them much like you would a pair of leather boots. Seats take some of the most intense day-to-day abuse when driving your car. Sliding in and out of the seat, catching the rivet on your jeans, baking when parked in the sun — all can do a number on your car’s upholstery, and therefore its longevity and resale value. Keep your seats clean using dedicated leather cleaning products and condition them with a leather conditioner to keep them looking good and stop them from drying out and cracking.

#4 Change the Oil

This is table stakes, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t change their oil in accordance with their car manufacturer’s recommended interval schedule. While it depends on the make and model of your car, the average recommendation is changing your oil every 3,000 miles or every three months (whichever comes first). While advances in engine technology and motor oils have made that advice slightly outdated, the best way to keep tabs on your engine and its oil condition is with frequent oil level checks.

#5 Keep Things Organized

Organization can be one of the simplest ways to keep your car looking its best. Instead of tossing things in the backseat or the trunk, only to spill over or roll around all over the place, keep it tidy with a few storage bins. We’re fans of these straight-wall solid storage containers and lids, or these similar bins with organizational dividers from Sidio. They are a great place to keep your jumper cables or car jumpstarter neatly tucked away so that you always know where to find them. You can keep them together with things like flares, reflectors, flashlights and a multitool so you’re prepared in the unfortunate case of an emergency.

The LEO Coupe from UEV is exactly how flying cars should look like in the future

Now that battery-electric transportation platforms are becoming mainstream, engineers are now working on the next big step. As traffic on the ground becomes a major issue in the future, the solution would be to take to the skies. Urban eVTOL (UEV) shares a glimpse into their LEO Coupe which really fits the description of a flying car.

Unlike some of the models we’ve previewed here that look more like your standard aircraft, the UEV’s design keeps it close to what people envisioned in the past. Renders also show that it’s about the size of a standard automobile. The manufacturer says it roughly measures about 10 x 20 feet.

The LEO Coupe is primarily marketed for consumer use, but it can also function as an air taxi. Perhaps ride-sharing services will have this option available down the line. Another application would be for rescue operations in areas inaccessible by land.

It may not look like a small private jet, but its aerodynamic silhouette has aviation DNA from all angles. Given it will be soaring above the ground, the sleek curves are not only for aesthetics. A single gullwing door lifts up to welcome you into the spacious cabin.

The rear seat can accommodate up to two passengers, while luggage and other cargo slide right under. UEV equips the LEO Coupe with a floating pilot seat that has a built-in display on the rear. It can display flight information or double as an infotainment system,

Meanwhile, large windows and a transparent floor panel offers breathtaking views for anyone on board. Technical specifications are not yet available, but the LEO Coupe will use Electric Jet Aircraft propulsion technology funded by DARPA.
