The BLUETTI AC200 Max Power Station and B230 Battery Module Are Now Up For Grabs

Never run out of fun things to do even during a power outage when you have two reliable power sources to back you up. In June, MAXOAK introduced two new additions to its vast lineup of emergency generators: the BLUETTI AC200 Max and AC300 Power Stations. They also debuted the B230 and B300 Battery Packs. Now you can avail of both the AC200 Max and the B230 as they are now up for grabs, to prep you for the winter season, where power interruptions are likely to happen. Plus, get more amazing deals from BLUETTI’s Power Week Campaign.

AC200 Max

An upgrade of the AC200P, the BLUETTI AC200 MAX now supports up to 900 watts of solar input and works great with either the B230 and B300 battery modules. It can accommodate two of the modules so you can make the most out of your power source. We’re talking a whopping 8192Wh out of its built-in 2048Wh battery capacity when paired with two B300 modules.

Moreover, it carries 2,200W of continuous AC outpower power from its pure sine wave inverter. It is also ideal for RV enthusiasts as it has a built-in 30A NEMA TT-30 outlet, and is designed for today’s wireless tech. You can control it via Bluetooth connection and through the BLUETTI app on iOS or Android. It even comes with a wireless charging pad and gets to a full recharge in 1.9 hours. BLUETTI AC300

Unlike the AC200 Max, the BLUETTI AC300 Max doesn’t come with its own battery pack. It is modular. As such, you can pair it with as many B300 Battery Modules as you want. Doing so, you would need a Fusion Box so you can have it running smoothly and for hours, days, or weeks.

It comes packed with 3000W of pure sine wave inverter power with a max power input of 5400W when paired with two B300 battery packs. Unlike the AC200 Max, it supports split-phase bonding so you can boost it up to 6000. It can go as high as 24,576Wh with the Fusion Box Pro. You can read our review of the product HERE

LEGO Just Built A Driveable 477,303-Piece Toyota GR Supra For LEGOLAND Japan Resort

When we were kids, it was everybody’s dream to build machines out of LEGO and actually ride them. The concept might sound crazy at the time, but these days, nothing is impossible with the right technology. To prove a point, Toyota’s engineers are teaming up with the Danish toymaker and building a 1:1 scale and drivable GR Supra.

The life-size coupe will be on display at the LEGOLAND Japan Resort as one of its unique attractions. In fact, to show off the accuracy of the copy, an actual Toyota GR Supra parks just right beside it. This is not LEGO’s first rodeo with these types of projects.

A few years ago, the company was also messing around with working replicas. It was a Bugatti Chiron with Technic elements and driven by the luxury marque’s test driver and former Le Mans winner Andy Wallace. What makes this Toyota GR Supra more impressive is the use of regular LEGO bricks.

At first glance, the exterior looks jarring. The surfaces look rough and pixelated, but you have to admit that they did a bang-up job with what they had. A total of 477,303 pieces and 2,400 hours were used up to complete it. Of course, a combustion engine is out of the question for obvious reasons.

Instead, the LEGO GR Supra runs on an electric powertrain. Apart from the chassis, other parts of the vehicle that are the real deal include the lighting, driver’s seat, steering wheel, instrument cluster, wheels, tires, and Toyota badge.

Too bad LEGO has no plans to mass-produce this as a limited-edition item. Nevertheless, at least we can get the GR Supra as a regular kit under the brand’s Speed Champions lineup. It’s more manageable at only 299 pieces.

Buy the kit – $29.99

What Are the Benefits of A Water Filter System In the Home?

You’ve probably heard this many times, but it’s true — 70% of your body consists of water. You could technically live without eating for a month, but you couldn’t go over a week or so without drinking water. Pure water is essential for keeping us alive and well. Unfiltered or impure water can easily make you sick. Thanks to advanced modern-day tech — there’s a variety of water filtration systems available in the market. Everyone knows that filtered water is better for your health than regular tap water. However, let’s take a closer look at the key benefits you can expect from installing a water filter at home.

1. Environmentally Friendly

Pollution is only getting worse with time — and we’re moving closer and closer towards inflicting irreversible damage to the Earth. Bottled water also hugely contributes to this issue.

It takes three times as much as a plastic bottle’s capacity to manufacture it, and it takes over 300 years to decompose.

If you could stop buying those bottles by filtering and drinking your tap water, you’d be doing a massive favour to both; your health and the planet!

If that doesn’t already convince you to start looking for the best water filter, the following four benefits will.

2. It’s Cost-Effective

Yes, purchasing and installing a water filter might cost you a couple of hundred bucks upfront — but you’ll be saving money in the long term as bottled water is significantly more expensive than filtering water.

3. Filtration Removes the Water’s Impurities

Water has all sorts of impurities that are potentially harmful to your health, your water-based electrical appliances, and your plumbing.

Some contaminants and impurities include chlorine, lead, mercury, magnesium, calcium, fluoride, zinc, etc.

Moreover, the mineral content in impure water can cause scaling on the surfaces it comes into contact with. As the water dries away, the minerals are left behind in the form of ‘soap scum’, which can be tough to clean up.

4. Filtered Water Is Good for Your Health

Not all of the impurities we’ve mentioned above are bad for your health. Advanced water filters even have processes built into them to ensure your filtered water still contains the minerals that are good for your health and wellbeing.

The health benefits of water filtration involve detoxification, improved digestion, skin hydration, reduction of cancer risks, and better nutrient absorption. Pure water also helps improve your mental health and immune system functioning.

5. Low Maintenance

Water filters are known to be durable, low maintenance, and easy to fix and replace. Different types and models may require varying levels of effort and expertise for installation, but most of them are pretty easy to set up and use.

Conclusion

There are countless environmental, financial, and medical reasons why you should consider getting a water filtration system installed.

This short article doesn’t cover all their benefits but hopefully provides you with a decent idea of why you probably need one for your home.

UNDONE x Astro Boy Chronograph: Commemorating 70 Years Of The Android Hero

image

What started out as an entertainment niche in Japan has now become mainstream across the world. Manga and its animated works we know as “anime” continue to be a hit across all age groups. As such, our favorite watchmaker is eager to pay tribute to one of the most beloved characters of all time. Meet the UNDONE x Astro Boy.

Created by the “Father of Manga” Osamu Tezuka, Mighty Atom as the Japanese call him went on to become a hit across the globe. Most of us still hold fond memories of the Android boy as he fought against those who would bring harm to his friends. Thus, UNDONE is commemorating the 70th anniversary of the lovable hero in the most awesome way possible.

UNDONE x Astro Boy

image

The timepiece comes in a 42.5-mm 316L stainless steel case with a coat of black DLC. It measures 48 mm lug-to-lug and 12.10 mm from the sapphire crystal of the face to the other on the exhibition cashback. UNDONE indicates that the bezel is forged carbon fiber for that lightweight toughness and an homage to Mighty Atom’s composite material construction.

Within the blackout body is a translucent dial with gridlines that hosts three sub-dials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. The small seconds auxiliary dial shows an image of Astro Boy’s head with the other half of his face showing the sophisticated robotics within. We can also see a date window in between the 4 and 5 o’clock hour markers.

UNDONE notes that this is their first model with a dual time zone function. You’ll find a secondary crown marked by a green band at 10 o’clock which rotates the inner bezel with Arabic numerals. A green outer ring separates this from the minute track and baton hour markers.

Turn off the lights to see another visual spectacle as the lumes in blue and green glow softly. The UNDONE x Astro Boy runs on a Japanese TMI VK63 Mechanical-Quartz Hybrid Flyback Chronograph movement supplied by Seiko. Finally, you have a user-replaceable 22-mm black Cordura strap with a black metal buckle.

Early Adopter Perks

To give fans another reason to snap it up as soon as possible, the first 300 units will ship as a limited-edition bundle. Ford May Be Turning the Explorer Into the Modern Muscle Car

Here in 2021, when we discuss Ford SUVs, the Bronco, the Bronco Sport and the Mustang Mach-E tend to get all the fanfare. (Unless we’re talking about towing capacity, at least.) But Ford’s best-selling SUV — and most important non-F-Series vehicle today — is the Explorer. And we just might see that model make a change for 2022 that makes it a bit more of a modern-day interpretation of the classic muscle car formula.

The high-performance Explorer ST packs Ford’s 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which puts out an impressive 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque in this trim. Currently, Ford’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive comes standard on the ST…but Ford Authority is reporting that Ford may drop the standard AWD and offer a version with rear-wheel drive.

If true, that would mean the Explorer ST — which already has aggressive styling and a muscle car-worthy power output — would also get the traditional RWD muscle car layout. That muscle would just come in a modern family-friendly, three-row crossover body style.

Why would Ford make this change? Well, not everyone needs AWD. And it presumably would make the ST — which starts above $50,000 with fees factored in — and the new partially stripped-down Enthusiast ST cheaper. AWD on other Explorers is about a $2,500 option.

Facing fierce competition in the three-row SUV segment from the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Toyota Highlander and Kia Telluride, Ford has been dramatically expanding its Explorer offerings. They have already added a Timberline off-roading package, a Platinum Hybrid trim and a King Ranch trim. So getting the ST power in front of more buyers would make a lot of sense. After all, a potent 400-hp engine is the one thing the Explorer offers that you can’t get from competitors…and unique features matter in a segment with many great competitors and low brand loyalty.

Does anyone need a high-po, fire-breathing three-row family crossover? Perhaps not. But there’s no law mandating your practical family car can’t also be your fun car. Just save the burnouts for the ride back from school.

Walt Disney World Epcot Let’s You Dine In Outer Space When Their Space 220 Restaurant Opens

As humans have mapped out almost every section of the globe, it’s time for us to explore places beyond our planet. Experts agree that what the future holds for us is interstellar travel. As it stands right now, that may be a long way off. Nevertheless, Disney plans to give us a preview with its Space 220 Restaurant.

The House of Mouse might not have the technology to actually do that, but what it promises is an experience somewhat close to it. if you prefer to actually get your feet off the ground, then a trip to the Voyager Station is what you want to consider.

For now, we’ll take what Walt Disney World Epcot has to offer. Set for a mid-September launch, the Space 220 Restaurant is part of the theme park’s Mission: Space expansion. Although the dining attraction is not exactly floating in outer space, Disney is doing a wonderful job pulling off the effect.

Patrons will head on over to the Space 220 Departure lounge wherein they enter a space elevator, which takes them up to the establishment. We’re guessing this system is using hydraulics, mood lighting, and high-resolution displays simulating the gut-wrenching travel.

Guest finally arrive at the Centaur Space Station which is supposedly 220 miles above terra firma. To keep it immersive, large windows provide a panoramic view of the Earth, the International Space Station (ISS), and astronauts floating about.

The theme continues with the menu and cocktails while you pretend to marvel at how far technology has evolved. The Space 220 Restaurant is the closest one can get to space travel before it becomes commercial. Disney really knows how to turn imagination into reality.

200 HP On A Side-By-Side Is What The 2022 Can-Am Maverick X3 Delivers

While everyone else is hitting the beach or trails this summer, there are some of us who are craving another kind of adventure. For some adrenaline-pumping fun, driving a side-by-side always equals a great time. Can-Am is about to shake up the scene with the 2022 Maverick X3. From what we hear, it’s game-changing off-highway UTV.

To tame this beast, you’ll need balls of steel to push it to the limit. Just remember to gear up properly and put on some sunscreen before you take it out for a spin. Under the hood, you have a Rotax ACE Turbo RR triple-cylinder engine good for 200 horsepower.

With podium finishes at the Dakar rally for three years straight under its belt, this is one mean machine. Can-Am now lets you experience what it feels like to drive around in a race-winning platform. The beefy powerplant is just one of the many components that make the 2022 Maverick X3 a champion.

Even when challenging surfaces and terrain lie ahead, the Smart Lok front differential delivers maximum traction. Go on! Make the jump, roll right over that rough patch, climb that dune, and do everything else you want. The robust FOX suspension system will handle whatever you throw at it.

Chunky all-terrain tires in 30” and 32” options on aluminum wheels make short work of anything in your path. Ergonomics and safety come first, so Can-Am gives us 4-way adjustable seats with 4-point harnesses all within a robust yet lightweight chassis.

Nothing beats a killer soundtrack while you’re rampaging across the trail. Can-Am agrees and equips the 2022 Maverick X3 with an audio roof system. The hardtop lifts up to reveal six Bluetooth-ready speakers with LED lighting so you can jam to your tunes anytime and anywhere.

All that power is managed by a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission with a high-performance clutch. A more rigid & wider front-end improves G forces in the corners. Sport brakes and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels wearing Bridgestone sneakers complete the package on this drift-ready daily driver.

The Nest Brush Is A Self-Dispensing UV-C Toothbrush

Body grooming and oral health care are both parts of good hygiene and whether we like it or not, it is important to also take care of our pearly whites to avoid certain diseases. But when it can be time-consuming and worse, a great contributor to plastic wastes. What with the toothpaste tube and disposed toothbrushes ending up in landfills. Thankfully, the Nest Brush solves that problem.

This ingenious oral care kit consists of several items that make brushing not just fun but also sustainable. It has a minimalistic silicon toothbrush that operates manually but has the power of an electric one. The handle has a built-in toothpaste refillable container, which means no more packing those tubes during travels. It can store 30 ml of paste which is good for a month of brushing.

A press of the button on the handle pushes out a sufficient amount of toothpaste through internal channels into the silicon brush head. The silicone valve prevents the paste from drying and leaking while its ergonomic design makes it easy to clean the container from the inside.

Moreover, the Nest Brush comes with replaceable heads and a magnetic brush stand equipped with a UV sterilizer. It only takes less than a minute to sterilize the toothbrush using two powerful UV-C LED lights. The head of the stand also protects your toothbrush from dirty water splashes.

Of course, when it comes to travel, this one also has a travel case with a UV sterilizer. Simply put the brush inside and the sterilizing process starts immediately. It is battery controlled which is good for two months. Best of all, the Nest Brush uses soft food-grade hypoallergenic silicone bristles to make brushing painless.

Genesis’s New Electric SUV Has Arrived in All Its Odd-Looking Glory

Here at Gear Patrol, we love what Genesis has been doing with its cars lately. Vehicles like the new G80 sedan and GV80 SUV look even more expensive than they are; they’re lovely to drive; and offer a compelling value proposition compared to rivals from Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Now, the brand is offering a glimpse of its future with the GV60 electric SUV…and that future appears to be a big hatchback.

genesis gv60

Genesis

genesis gv60

Genesis

The GV60 won’t be Genesis’s first electric car — there’s an electric G80 model on the way — but it will be the first model to run on Hyundai’s E-GMP dedicated EV platform, which underpins both the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6 electric cars. Genesis didn’t provide much technical information beyond that, but performance and range will probably line up with the aforementioned corporate siblings. (They did say the “V” stands for versatility and the smaller “60” designation emphasizes its sportiness, for what it’s worth.)

The looks, however, diverge greatly from its relatives. While Hyundai went for a retro-modern look with the Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6 went sharp, sporty and futuristic, the Genesis GV60 looks like a now-conventional, fastback-coupe-with-a-spoiler-SUV. To my eyes, it’s merely all right — which feels discordant as the rest of the Genesis lineup has set the aesthetic bar so high. The lime green color on the first car shown definitely imparts a more youthful and sportier vibe than Genesis’s typical conservative and Bentley-esque color palette. Whether that color constitutes “athletic elegance,” as Genesis likes to call its design language, is open to interpretation.

From a pareidolia perspective, the GV60 front end kind of looks like a person with a chin strap shouting at you.

genesis gv60

Genesis

genesis gv60

Genesis

The GV60 interior looks higher-end than the Ioniq 5 or EV6, at least — Genesis went all-in on the luxury details to help differentiate it. The GV60 features a new version of Genesis’s wing emblem that is 80 percent thinner and uses a Guilloché pattern cribbed from luxury watches. The gear shifter on the “floating console” is a crystal sphere meant to not just function but also create an “emotional connection” with the driver.

Genesis did not say when the electric GV60 will go on sale in the U.S. — speculation has it coming in 2022 as a 2023 model year vehicle — or how much it will cost, so stay tuned for added info about this new EV as we learn more.

The 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Sells Out All 112 Examples After Unveiling

A month ago, Lamborghini fans got wind of the company’s plans to finally bid goodbye to the Aventador lineup. To commemorate the final production run of the supercar, we have the highly tuned LP780-4 Ultimae edition. What followed was a lot of speculation as to what comes next. To our surprise, it’s none other but the return of a legend — the Countach LPI 800-4.

Close to 2,000 examples of the Countach were in circulation before the Diablo took over as its successor. While others suggest Lamborghini might have something in development, this retro revival answers a question we all have in mind.

What could cutting-edge technology improve upon the original and how would it perform against the competition? Thankfully, Lamborghini can now answer that question with the 2022 Countach LPI 800-4. Let’s start with the powertrain, which is surprisingly a hybrid one at that.

In 2017, the Italian automaker shared a glimpse into its all-electric future with the Terzo Millenio concept. Fast-forward to 2021 and it inches closer to that goal with the Countach LPI 800-4 revisit. Taking cues from the Sián FKP 37, it’s packing a 6.5-liter V12 engine with a capacitor-powered 48V electric motor.

This setup combines for a total output of 802 horsepower which courses to all four wheels via a 7-speed automated manual transmission. On paper, it dictates a top speed of 221 mph and a 0-62 mph acceleration in 2.8 seconds.

Lamborghini is doing a stellar job retaining the aggressive silhouette while adding some aesthetic tweaks reflecting its modern stature. Even the sophisticated interior reflects that with its digital instrument cluster and infotainment package. The 2022 Countach LPI 800-4 is such a big hit as all 112 units are already spoken for.

Fortis Crafts The Elegant Flieger F-41 Midnight Blue Out Of Recycled Steel

Efforts to promote sustainability appears to have a positive effect on a wide range of industries. While all the publicity seems to be in the direction of automotive companies and their push for electrification, it’s easy to miss out on other awesome initiatives. One example is the Flieger F-41 Midnight Blue from Fortis – a robust yet eco-friendly tool watch.

Recycling has always been associated with materials such as aluminum and plastics. However, other discarded metals such as steel can find new life in a stylish timepiece. Fortis offers the Midnight Blue in two sizes, but we’ll discuss the 41 mm version for now. Both share the same features anyway.

As indicated earlier, the Flieger F-41 Midnight Blue boasts a case and caseback crafted out of recycled steel. Unless somebody tells you so, there’s no way for anyone to know that your wrist candy is an advocate for the environment. Its bi-directional bezel is concave which you rarely see these days.

Although Fortis uses sapphire, which is durable enough to withstand impacts from daily use, the bezel adds a welcome layer of protection. Beneath the crystal is a striking dial in the shade of its namesake with a vertical brushed finish. A date window with an orange outline sits at 3 o’clock.

Super-LumiNova with a blue afterglow keep the hand and hour markers visible in the dark. The Flieger F-41 Midnight Blue runs on Fortis’ UW-30 self-winding movement with a 38-hour power reserve. Aside from the recycled steel, the indigo genuine cow leather aviator strap is also sourced sustainably.
